Because survivors try not to lose pips because you have to talk on the phone... that's why.🤣

in games like this even survivors lose pips (not just killers)

This. Don't blame the other players because you were afk.

  • I want to see Winnie the Pooh from the new Horror movie 🎬

  • These stats can never perfect. Do they take into account hackers who win? Killers who farm and let everyone go? Killer DCs that give survivors an "escape"

There should be a margin of error like in a poll.

  • Yeah, switch to mobile or run lightborn

That's dumb. P100 should let you have it because that's a huge grind too.

I personally just turned the option off in settings because at this point it looks better if nobody has it

Zombies can still be blinded. It's the only flashlight related interaction to any power that is still in the game. Calling it a counter might be debatable though.

Oh I see, I thought you meant something to do with his tentacle lol

  • How is Nemesis power countered by flashlights?

Taking Steam data, the player base continues to decline. I know Steam doesn't count consoles and I'm not saying dbd is dying. But why?

The game is much more balanced now than 2-3 years ago, killers are very solid and viable (except for a few), there are many balanced maps (except for a few), many "broken" strategies no longer exist...

In theory the player base should increase and not decrease.

Some people will now say "there are no new game modes"... "lights out" had literally no effect on player numbers.

    your opinions?

SoloQ is too painful for veterans and new players alike.

In that case I don't understand the killer, but maybe he had no good hooks near by. That basement is nightmare in general for any killer.

I was the only one down there. He brought the rest there using Agitation and Iron Grasp. I just wondered if anyone had seen it before

  • @Mooks said:

I wouldn’t call it exactly bm ing as all survs participated (could have crawled away/downed far away and wiggle free) and he gave hatch. Matches like this can be very fun (as long as the others aren’t forced to participate).

We did try to crawl away at first. His build was Lightborn, Agitation, Iron Grasp and Mad Grit. I am glad I got Hatch though!

Do the matches really go on that long. I feel like even just walking around and randomly bumping into people would eventually end before that.

My trial playing as Trapper went almost 40 minutes. Ugh. I gave up and let them finish the last two generators. My Survivor matches are roughly 25 minutes, slightly shorter because I die 💀 but too long for me.

It was so awkward going back to Normal Mode SoloQ today. I have to retrain my brain to remember that the Killer can see my scratch marks again 😆

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

I personally find it’s the easiest map to win on so I’ll just spam them

I have like 70 of them across my highest prestige survivors

I'm a walking disaster on that map as Survivor. I can only find the one generator by the basement. No matter how many times I play it in both roles, I can't find gens there as Survivor and I hate it

  • The only thing I dislike is how long the matches go on. I understand why but there comes a moment around the 25 minute mark where you just want the next match

1 thing before anything, I know the dbd forums don't encapsulate all players thoughts on the game, but I just want some opinions.

So I am playing the Billy and near the end of the game (2 players left, 2 gens left) this Claudette hit me with the ######### Best flashbang I have ever seen, it was some around the corner, didn't even hear the flashbang, but it felt fair and it seemed it took some skill.

And as I down Claudette, I see Ace running away so I decided to go for him, cause ya know. I want the kill.

So I took literally less than 2 minutes, hooked, and picked up Claudette and bro didn't want to miss skillchecks, so I carried her for like 1 minute. When he died, Hatch spawned on us, but she had wiggled out by then.

Then in the post game chat she was like "no-one cares about your 4k", "being slugged isn't fun"(which is completely fair), and stuff like that.

So I just wanted to know if I should "reward" good plays, or just get the game over with.

She thought you wanted the 4K because you downed and left her for the last Survivor. Don't hold it against her.

Definitely don't use this match to form an opinion. Too much was going on: Only 2 Survivors left, you left one slugged (not on purpose).

If you decide late in game you want a certain Survivor to have Hatch, don't interact with them near endgame situations.

My advice would be to take out who you want, then go look for the hatch by yourself. If your lucky Survivor finds it first, great! If you find it first, wait by it.

The Survivor will eventually find you there and you can signal for them to escape through it then back away from it.

I did this with a Jill once who got stuck in a lobby of totally brand new players. She was always participating to her fullest capability but her team had no clue how to play.

    I hope this helps.

  • @Nos37 said:

This is an issue when it comes to reporting a survivor. Unless that survivor interacts with you or you interact with them (healing, recovering, etc), and you can see whether it's Kate Denson #2 or Kate Denson #3, you'll not be able to accurately reporth them if 1 breaks the rules but not the other.

If you die during the match, switch to spectate and chances are you'll see them breaking the rules and their name will be shown. You are then able to record and report because what you are spectating is happening in a trial you were in which is reportable per the game rules.

  • @EQWashu said:

I kind of think of myself of a Killer of many colors 😅 How I play a match as Killer comes down to so many different variables (i.e. Am I going for an achievement, ritual, or challenge? Am I more (re)learning a Killer and anything in the match is a learning experience? Are the Survivors giving their all and playing incredibly well, and I want to -at least- attempt the same? Or, are the Survivors memeing and I'm not one to turn my nose up at some wholesome meme-abouts?)

No matter what though, I still prefer to play in a way that is fair and respectful of others (but, you know, still a Killer, probably even trying out a devilish new build), within the game rules (of course), and just have fun with it, and hopefully others will have fun too <3

I should have added these variables to my post as well as many that you named can alter my playstyle.

I don't try to win when learning a new Killer but rather learn.

I played my first trial as Skull Merchant recently and I don't think I could have hooked anyone if I tried.

I was too preoccupied trying to figure out what the device in her hand is monitoring. Still haven't figured it out 🤔

  • Hex: Hook Spreader

Hooking the first Survivor turns a Dull Totem into a Hex Totem.

While this Hex is standing, Survivors that you hook for the first time suffer the following effects upon expiration of their Haste and Endurance after they are unhooked:

    3.5% Repair Speed Reduction

7% Decreased Speed Unhooking Other Survivors

10% Decreased Speed Healing Other Survivors

If a Survivor is put into the Dying State by the killer within 40 seconds of being unhooked for the first time and before 2 Generators are repaired, this Hex deactivates, and a random Dull Totem becomes a random Boon Totem

If 3 Survivors are hooked once, with none being hooked twice, The Entity blocks this Hex for 180 seconds.

I meant that all the Trapper has to do is place a trap at each exit at some point before there is only 1 remaining survivor. Then they get the free 4k as soon as they close hatch. It is impossible for the last remaining survivor.

You may find the Hatch first. I do see your grievance and it is understandable. I'm ok with it staying or going personally as I play both sides. I only trap the exit gates if it's clear the match is going south for me very early on. I have still never got a 4K doing it though so I don't go out of my way to do it unless desperate, as in 4 generators done and I have 0 hooks desperate

And if the Trapper waits until there are only 2 survivors remaining before trapping/rearming them, then he gets a free 4k the second he closes the hatch.

No other killer gets it for free. Some have it easier than others, but only the Trapper gets it for free. Place trap 1, place trap 2, stand in the middle and wait, profit. Free profit.

Not necessarily, if two survivors remain then they should go to separate exit gates once it's clear he's trapping them

The Killer can only be in one place at a time.

I play Trapper and did it about a month ago. I had to commit to one Survivor eventually and the other Survivor got out through the exit gates

It wouldn't bother me if Traps couldn't be set there though. Just know that it's not impossible to escape

I also escaped through the exit gates with my last remaining SoloQ teammate last month playing against Trapper doing this

One of us would disarm the trap and make Slight progress on the gate switch, the other get him in a chase. We alternated and both escaped through the gates

I can say it was intense and my most memorable match as Survivor in my 4600 hours but we pulled it off.

  • @Nos37 said:

Other killers cannot use their power right next to the Exit Gates... No Demogorgon portals, no Victor/Charolette switching, no Hag marks, Executioner trenches. The Skull Merchant can, but her Drones no longer detect motionless survivors.

The Trapper's Bear traps can be placed directly in front of the exit gate switch and they HAVE to be disarmed first. The Trapper then knows you're there and before you can even get to the other gate, they've reset the trap and it starts over again. Last survivor automatically loses.

Now, the argument for keeping this in the game has always been "but the Trapper is so weak... it's one of the few gimmicks he has... leave him be!"

Well, he's been buffed, twice. Time to disable trap placement right next to the switches.

If you're facing Trapper, begin looking for the exit gates early to disarm the Traps. If he keeps coming to reset then the team can gen rush out.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

And how you will finish game when only one survivor left? At this point, sitting on gen as last survivor will be just suicide. So if you have fair solution, please tell me

  • My Suggestion in a thread:

    @CountOfTheFog said:

I don't want to put this in suggestions because few people even go there and I want a discussion, from Survivors and Killers.

Many Killers feel gens pop too fast, many Survivors feel that just doing gens is boring. With the Lights Out mode, I got an idea 💡

What if all maps start out in Lights Out mode?

The Survivors can find 5 light switches per map to turn on (by pulling a lever, like the steam lever in the Alien spaceship).

If they choose not to and just rush the gens, the Lights Out rules will apply (no TR of the killer and impaired vision) in the specific area.

The light switches will power only the area / radius of 1 generator. The Killers can shut off light switches unless all 5 are powered on simultaneously in which case they remain on for the trial.

I like this as an idea and want to know what you all, including devs, think.

Do you like this? What would you change? As someone who plays both roles, I think this would be fun - adding a new objective without removing the traditional ones.

For clarity, I'm wanting this for our normal mode, not a modifier.

Please discuss and state which role(s) you play.

    Thanks 😊

EDIT: This would enable devs to make new perks that we would actually equip 👍

Maybe not...I have been sitting here looking at it and saying it for a few minutes and I literally have no idea what you think it sounds like 🤔

Seriously, I'm clueless as to what it sounds like.

  • @ember__lol said:

im trying to get as much bloodpoints as possible. but im terrible at survivor so im sticking to killer. would i get more from just playing normal dbd?

For BP, I play Killer in Normal Mode if the incentive is 100% with Myers or Freddy with the following perks:

    Distressing (100% more Deviousness BP)

Beast of Prey (50% more Hunter BP)

    Lightborn

    Brutal Strength

If you are having a hard time maxing out the Hunter category go with this:

    Distressing (100% more Deviousness BP)

Beast of Prey (50% more Hunter BP)

HEX: Thrill of the Hunt (50% more Hunter BP**)

    Lightborn

**The 50% from the Hex will diminish as the trial progresses if Survivors do totems.

You want Lightborn so there's nobody blinding you at pallets and interrupting your mission.

If you go with the 1st build, Brutal Strength speeds up your ability to break things, gaining those Brutality bloodpoints 20% faster.

If you go with the second build, focus on chases before using your power. Rack up as many BP in the Hunting category before your Totem is destroyed.

    Hope this helps.

I mean yes if you run streaks like "reach iri rank 1 with survivors but each surivor which gets killed is removed from the pool" then this can be annoying especially in solo-q. Aside from that I never thought about it.

To be completly honest bloodpoints don't mean anything to me anymore. I think all players reach that point sooner or later. You've unlocked all perks you need and got enough to boost level for a new toolbox or medkit.

I actually stopped looking at my rank since they decided to replace it with this icon box. Ranking up does not give you any benefit nor does it affect matchmaking in any ways. That's why I stopped caring about it alltogether.

If you run the bloodweb manually you can "trick" the entitus to eat away half the web each time and will save a lot of bloodpoints.

I guarantee you though the time will come where you have reached 2 million bloodpoints and don't know or bother how to spend them.

At this point it's not worth anything anymore and if I could trade 200 k bloodpoints for 2k shards I would do so.

Then you don't object as you don't care.

I'm totally cool with that and appreciate your feedback.

I'm over 4,600 hours in and still care very much about my bloodpoints and Bloodwebs, especially on my Killers as their add-ons are unique unlike Survivors.

It seems there are people who care very much, like myself and players who couldn't care less.

I have never heard an objection though and that's why I'd like to see this implemented.

I'm 100% with you on the Shards by the way. I just don't see them giving us anymore of those as Auric Cells (money) profits BHVR.

  • I am literally getting jump scared by the animation and sound FX as Killer.

Please consider lowering or altogether removing that awful sound when the spikes appear.

I play with headphones on as Killer and need the volume up to listen for Survivors, crows, repairs, ect. This is becoming a huge distraction.

For clarity: I have no objection to the system itself, just the completely unnecessary animation and sound FX.

  • Awesome 👌

Thank you, I feel much better now 😊
