I play a bit of Ghostie last night. You don't have to be that close. I was able to mark survivors I didn't even know I was looking at because I couldn't see them.

    Same with Myers.

  • @Xernoton said:

I'm pretty sure that's not true. I played him once and I could only stalk people that were clearly visible. Even when they were just barely beginning to fade into the fog, I could not stalk them anymore.

Regardless, this is still terrible. They knew of this problem because it had occured before but they couldn't fix it? That seems unlikely. Then again, this whole thing is obviously not well thought out, so it's not surprising that this wasn't fixed either.

I wouldn't lie to you @Xernoton if you are referring to me as Myers.

I can (On Nintendo Switch) stalk near a generator and my meter goes up without them even glowing white.

Perhaps it is indeed because the Switch brightness is so dark that if I were in the same position on another platform they would be visible.

Try it in a match you don't care to win. If you hear repairs, stay a bit back and stalk. Watch your meter as well as your Deviousness Stalk points in the upper-right corner of the screen.

I can't record video on Switch. I could take a still screenshot but that probably wouldn't prove anything.

Unfortunately it would be out of the scope for a modifier. I think we'd all love to have him be playable in Lights Out, but with modifiers only being available for a limited time, we need to be mindful of the time we spend on them since those resources could be put into updates elsewhere in the game which would be available year-round.

Out of the scope of just this modifier?

Or are you including future modifiers as well?

Is the plan to make him unusable for future modifiers?

I'm more and more often noticing bad impact on my matches of stealth players on both sides.

In my killer games i usually bring one aura perk. It's BBQ, Nowhere to Hide or Gearhead. Rarely i run UW instead. And it's almost impossible to go through all these tokens, unless you are stealth killer. Thing is, i constantly chase same people over and over again. 2 distortions in lobby pretty often will end up in 6 hooks on 2 people without distortion. I'm tunneling simply because I have no other choice.

If i didn't see anyone on my BBQ or Gearhead and gens are on the other side of the map, most often I'll just check the nearest ones and return to proxy camping, since all other decisions could cost me a lot of time. Unless i play Blight, Dredge, Artist or Alien, of course.

And I was even more convinced of what was written above after watching these players in my survivor games. I noticed that distortion users act literally like bots.

Barely heard terror radius? Walk slowly beside the rock.

Killer somewhere in my way to hooked survivor? You know what, i will just seat here and watch you go to second stage. God forbid killer will know i exist in this match.

He heals me after unhook and hears TR? Well, stay here injured and i will be ride beside this rock if anything.

Whole team died because Distortion player did nothing but crouching whole game? HE WILL TEABAG THE HELL OUT OF THIS HATCH!!! SEE THIS, KILLER??? IM WINNER HERE!!! YOU ARE LOSER, HATCH IS MINE!! OH GOD IM SO GOOD AT THIS GAME

Yeah, i got it, most Distortion users are awful in chase and maybe it's right to help yourself not to be founded. But i don't understand the point of this game for you, guys. How you want to be good at this game without being good in chase? Like, you will have 3k hours in this game and all this time it's just m1+crouch simulator for you?

I think Distortion should gain stacks MUCH harder, it's stupid how many boring and unhealthy gameplay produce unlimited of this perk.

I think if Distortion is going to get a nerf then Killer aura perks need to also run on a Token system.

I use Distortion on my P100 or if the lobby has at least 2 higher prestige Survivors.

I honestly don't feel that I have a choice. It never stops me from bringing 'We'll Make It' and being Altruistic. When I use Distortion it replaces Prove Thyself.

I would love to use 'No One Left Behind' but making it to endgame is rare in SoloQ these days. Very rare.

One last point, I'm not good in chases. If the killer has Lethal Presuer and targets me first, it's pretty much game over.

I don't notice any teammates acting selfish with Distortion. I only notice it if they have 'Left Behind' or that one Ada Wong perk that helps you when you are the Las Survivor standing.

    EDIT:

Also, when I realize BBQ is in play, I still go in a locker to save my tokens. I'm guessing I'm not the only one and that's how Survivors are staying hidden. I don't waste tokens on BBQ because for all I know the Killer is also running 'No Where to Hide' and/or 'Bitter Murmur'

If the Killer spawns in with 'Lethal Presuer', I *always* jump in a locker prior to a hook. That combo (LP & BBQ) is way too common in my region, not to mention any other aura perks and add-ons that could deplete my Distortion Tokens.

Knight, since my main is literally unplayable.

Tarhos here will be filling in for Freddy, I suppose.

I used Myers twice. I got a 4K the first time, then a hacker ruined my match the second trial so I didn't bother trying to win.

I just left him slugged after I caught up to him, but his crawl speed was probably triple the normal speed and he got out the exit gate.

He had instant Breakout of course, so he was impossible to pick up. It left a sour feeling and I haven't played Killer in the dark since.

When I get over it, I'm going to play as Chucky. I haven't even seen him as Survivor yet.

Alien is definitely the most terrifying so far although I haven't faced a Pig yet (knock on wood).

  • @LordGlint said:

Just curious how much away from the norm ppl are picking. I know Legion and Doc's pickrates are probably through the roof.

    I have seen:

    Skull Merchant x1

Myers (1 as Survivor, played 2x as Killer)

    Legion x1

    Ghostface x2

    Pyramid Head x1

    Wraith x1

    Alien x1

Have you played Mikey in this mode? You got to get close to them to pick them up with your stalk. Same for Ghostface.

Freddy's issue is his bright dream world totally clashes with this mode. Survivors would benefit from being asleep. Do you want to be a perkless Freddy who survivors can see coming a mile away?

I have now played Myers twice. I don't even need to see the Survivors to level up stalk. Keep in mind, I'm on Switch though. I just was stunned that a Killer was banned from the event. At least a warning would have been appreciated so Freddy players didn't get their hopes up. It is what it is though 🤷

  • @mikewelk said:

Cool suggestion, but where would the light come from in outdoor maps?

They could easily fit them on a wall or add lampposts to outdoor maps. It doesn't have to make perfect sense imo. The exit gates and generators for example are all powered underground.

  • As Killer, on Switch no less, I'm amazed how dark clothes don't help hide the Survivors as much as you would think.

Try playing Neon Nea as Survivor and you're scared but play against one as Killer and it's not nearly as bright as the Survivor POV.

Just my surprising experience, in the Normal mode.

True, but they could also spend the same amount of time switching between different survivors so a P9 has the same potential for play time as a P100 if they prioritize trying to get all the perks, cosmetics, and charms for each survivor.

Also true. I think at this point, we as a community (including the devs) need to come to terms with the fact that players will see it as skill no matter how many times devs and community members assure them that it is not.

The perception is that it is skill and as the saying goes "perception is reality". P100s shouldn't have to live in the false reality that P100 = skill.

Hell, I've gotten absolutely destroyed a handful of times by brand new players.

RNG, perk selection, maps, ect all play a role in how a trial will play out.

Idk why anyone thinks survivor prestige = skill. Most of the time all it means is that survivor has a main and that's who they spend all of their blood points on.

It can equal experience (time playing) and I think people conflate time played with time played well.

I’m not sure how everyone feels about this topic, but in my opinion I’m tired of facing killers that trap their hex’s. Specifically, when they trap their devour of hope. In some ways I understand it’s a strategy to kill off survivors, but I feel like is annoying when killers camp it the entire game. Granted they do chases, hook survivors and kick gens, but the moment a survivor steps or touches the trap placed in front of the hex, they run back full speed. I wonder if the dev’s could add a range distance from placing traps around hex’s. In anycase, how do y’all feel about it?

    Legit strategy

Grain of salt but I'm noticing much higher quality of games lately.

Played eight solo-queue games today. Escaped six, died in two, of those two one was a three out and the other was the only 4k of the entire day.

    Some things I noticed:

-Very rare to get totem cleansers, spam healers, and locker fanatics. Gen efficiency has gone way up, and games don't feel lost by the first hook or death.

-Perk loadouts of teammates are actually decent. No more boons or chest builds.

-Playing altruistically is rewarded with selfless teammates making smart trades a lot more.

-Killers feel fairly consistent in skill-level instead of being way above or way below skill-wise. Knowing what to expect when I load in has made it a lot easier to be consistent.

I'd personally say the MMR change was a success. Curious as to how others feel.

I want to know two things:

    What drugs are you on?

Where are you getting them from?

Honestly, just play against the P100s. I get matched with a number of them (it's been long enough that they're becoming commonplace) and 9/10 are average. This screenshot I took was me dying on hook while these two P100s were hiding in corners. They even had health states to spare/hook trade if necessary, and the game was completely winnable. One was a Jonathan Byers too, and at P100 they had to have been playing for years, since the original ST chapter was released. And he still hid.

Don't be scared of them. If anything I get tempted to dodge them, as survivor, because they play like this.

I don't think Thalita has a single good perk. Everyone else has at least one perk that I would use.

I've recently started using Friendly Competition. I never thought much of it before but believe it or not, I see it at least once a day on a random in SoloQ. I thought I'd give it a shot and with other repair perks, it's not bad.

  • @Hex_Ignored said:

Thalita. All of her perks are trash. Ace and David are strong contenders though because Ace has 3 perks that do nothing and David has no mither which sabotages the entire team.

I agree with you on No Mither but I sometimes use Open-Handed and Friendly Competition in the following separate builds:

    • Kindred
    • Bond
    • Open-handed
    • Prove Thyself

    Or:

    • Prove Thyself
    • Friendly Competition
    • Deja Vu
    • Resilience

I never understood survs with hatch offerings. Basicly you're telling the killer were it is.

I totally agree with your first point.

Entity bless you because you just gave me a new thing to try with your second point! Brilliant 👏

  • I will always farm if a Bloody Partystreamer was offered. Not just for myself but for whoever was nice enough to share an offering with their team and the Killer.

If no Bloody Partystreamers then it just depends on my mood and on if this match is important to pip up to the next rank. It also depends on what I brought for offerings and add-ons.

It's not something I have a formula for, it's a case by case basis.

    EDIT:

If I'm a Survivor, I expect nothing from the Killer. It's not going to upset me if they want to continue on or not because I know they have priorities of their own.

  • I absolutely love it. I can play back-to-back Killer matches now without having a headache and when I am done for the night, I don't feel unwell as I did before. This is a wonderful feature, thank you so very much!

This whole gen block mechanic should only come into play when there actually are only 3 generators left on the map.

    I'd like to echo this.

I'm finding the animation and sound distracting when approaching the area of the generator.

A lot of times I want to initiate a chase but walking by the gen and the visual effect and sound distract me and I lose chase.

As you can see below, I'm not even close enough for a kick and really don't need this at the moment. I think it should only be when there are 3 generators remaining.

No, because the toxicity is usually against the killer. 🤣

In my experience it's been against fellow Survivors.

The last time I played with one was a Vittorio.

We both spawned in the shack. He immediately threw down the shack pallet and vaulted it repeatedly. When the Killer came, he waves to them and points to me 🙄

  • @AzshFayd said:

a certain new perk combo has just completely crushed alot of solo survivors will to even bother. Alot of them are literally just trying to outlive each other and go for hatch or a sneaky exit gate open now lol

No lie. Be very wary if a SoloQ teammate brings a Key 🔑 to the trial.

  • @jayoshi said:

I know I know, solo queue is awful - but it's usually manageable. I feel like I'm pretty good at looping. Been having a lot of Billy games and I've been able to dodge and mind game to not go down right away. However, my other teammates that I loaded into, they will go down within seconds and while I'm being chased for awhile - I will notice maybe one person working on a gen while the other two show they are doing nothing.

Then when I'm finally downed and get picked up, I notice the survivors doing nothing are just hiding in a corner somewhere like they are scared or I don't see them because they are in a locker. I don't remember it ever being THIS bad where it's 90 percent of games I load into solos are like this. Before I would maybe get a game like this once in one play session, but pretty much every game? Like, what is going on? Is anyone else noticing this? Did they make a change to the MMR or something? Right now playing survivor by myself is unplayable.

Something strange is going on, I've seen it since about two weeks ago as both Killer and Survivor.

I just played a match as Freddy (My Main Killer) against 4 brand new Survivors.

Two of them were participating and two were screwing around the entire time, dropping pallets when I was nowhere around, constantly crouching and pointing at each other, not running away from me.

I killed the two jokers and let the other two go because I felt so bad that they were doing all the work and got stuck with such horrendous teammates.

    EDIT:

Also, the number of Survivors DCing when they realize I have lightborn is wild.

Tonight I had a Thalita DC after she tried to blind me and she was the player who brought the Bloody Partystreamer! Unbelievable.

philly for faster stalk and driver license for your only regression.

The matchbook is very good and i can see why u run it.

"really wish I could get good with him but marking Survivors is so hard for me to pull off without getting revealed." Unfortunately good survivors are super aware which mean u gonna need to get most of your stalk from a distance. You need the map knowledge of all the little sneaky spots to stalk from which will take sometimes to learn. You can just get close and try to stalk but it's very risky. If you get reveal you pretty much just wasted a bunch of time and have to leave them.

also Spooky and esskay are some people u can watch to learn all the little spots.

Hey, thanks for the tips, I will check them out.

I committed to Ghostface being a Killer I would play after seeing how seemingly easy Survivors get marked in SoloQ so I thought it would be an easy task.

I have him to Prestige 6 with literally every perk in the game and I've never killed more than 2 Survivors per match as him which is embarrassing.

Stalking makes me so nervous. I feel like all the gens are going to start popping if I don't hurry up 😔

    In my case:

    When playing killer

    • TTVs.
    • Three or four clone survivors (sometimes when there are only two clones, but way less frequently).
    • Maps if playing Trapper (if they have the addon to see the killer belongings your power become useless).
    • "Toxic" names.

    When playing survivor:

    • There are a survivor or more with 100-150 hours or less.

You don't care about toxic names as Survivor?

Freddy only have 4 useable addons. Most of them outside of the red paint brush need a build around them to even be ok.

Black box for a end game build

    photo album need Dead man

the dresses addons need skill check perks.

ghost face definitely got way better stuff

I actually find the add-on to hear the sounds of their generator repair sounds from a little further away to be good since I use headphones. I love that add-on.

Ghostface is really hard for me and since marking Survivors is his power, I can't bring myself to touch anything other than the one that lets you mark them faster and lets you walk faster when crouching.

I really wish I could get good with him but marking Survivors is so hard for me to pull off without getting revealed.

Which add-ons do you like for him?

You are correct, us on Xbox cannot use their Anonymous Mode sadly.

Do you know the official reason?

  • I can't think of what it does off the top of my head, but for me, the only add-ons that I use are two Brown ones.

None of his add-ons appeal to me other than the two Brown ones I use.

In my humble opinion, The Nightmare has better add-ons and I'm not exaggerating.

I remember getting every perk at Tier III on Ghostface, then checking out his add-ons. I was beyond disappointed.

  • @bjorksnas said:

A great skillcheck on a generator gives you 1% progress or 0.9s bonus on a gen, you have an 8% chance every second to get a skill check aka every 12.5s, if you got and succeeded this skill check every time on average you can save 5.4s on a gen with no items, when they add up you get a lot of bonus progress even without any items across a match

Now missing a skillcheck instantly removes 10% of a gens max progress or 9s worth of repairs + stopping repairs for a second or two

For ok - good players just trying to not miss skill checks is usually enough to get by but if you want to be just a little bit more efficient hitting great skill checks can speed up matches especially with toolboxes which give you increased repair speed and a 40% chance to get a skill check every second easily giving you tons of extra progress on top of its speed boost

If you can hit great skill checks go for it, but if you aren't confident in your abilities to hit them or even regular skill checks its not a bad addon but its mostly a skill dependent addon aka if you are good its bad and if you are better its a debuff

TLDR great skillchecks are good if you can hit them, only use it if you can't

Is it true that when you repair with a toolbox that you are guaranteed skill checks during repair until the charges are depleted?

People on this thread have already pointed out what it is, so I won't recycle what's been said. As it is, it can be a distraction, especially since it happens so early on.

    It totally is a distraction!

I'm approaching the generator to chase the Survivor(s) off of it, they see me or hear my TR and start running but I lose sight of them because the spikes appear as you walk by, even if you're not attempting to kick it.

Hopefully we'll get used to the visual with time, but it breaks my concentration for a second because it jumps out at you.

I only dodge if there are specific streamers in my lobby. Usually ones that are not self aware and more so middle tier. Other than that I usually don't need to dodge.

I don't dodge anon players - I feel like it's probably the best feature to deal with toxicity in this game. I shouldn't have random idiots visiting my profile because they're uber butthurt that the game didn't play out the way they wanted it. I don't care who you are, streamer, player or anything in between. I'll play how I want - I don't need your backseat gaming. I feel bad for console players though - I feel like they should also get anon mode. We can argue about subtle cheaters but plenty of people cheat even without anon mode and you'll never be able to tell - There just needs to be better tools to report and detect cheats.

I might dodge a flashlight lobby if I'm a low tier killer but only because I worry about the perk Background Player - in the hands of a good player this perk is a nightmare to deal with and to be honest I don't have a lot of time to play. I'd rather just enjoy my casual experience whether I win or lose without feeling like I'm playing a tournament.

That being said - I don't feel lobby dodging is justified at all. I just don't care - Just like the same mentality everyone in this game has if it doesn't affect me I don't care. The lobbies will fill up eventually so I won't complain.

We have ANON mode on Nintendo Switch. I believe, for reasons beyond me, that only XBOX doesn't have it.

Did you get both Bloodpoint codes yesterday? LIGHTSOUT & ALANWAKECHAPTER in case you missed them.

  • I can't say either way for sure because they appear and vanish in 2 seconds. I have been caught off guard by the animation, so I freeze wondering what's going on, then they go away and I kick.

The fact it's not available on other platforms either kinda throws shade on all console platforms in general tbh.

Only reason Sony gets flack is the actual official Sony policy has been leaked, which is actually an illegal document for someone to have shared, as anyone with access to it is under an NDA... and you can bet other platforms have the same kind of agreements.

I never knew why everyone blamed Sony. Thank you for that information.
