Some perks are good, others are bad. Most are in a solid middle ground. That's how things are for...well just about everything really. What does any of that have to do with perk rarity, which really isn't a huge deal already
-
Dude chill, it's just a color choice. It really doesn't have any bearing on literally anything. Compared to Ruin and Devour Soap, Third Seal isn't particularly powerful.
-
The more I look at this update the more excited I am for it. I'm actually levelling Legion up now so I got some good perks when it goes live.

But what if it had skill checks ? What if it was a healing action ? This is what I mean by more interaction. Would it be fair to make it a bit shorter then ?
No it wouldn't. Skill checks make no difference (actually they make it faster) and the healing action just means Nurses Calling can see it. Which really isn't a huge deal. Especially when you can just stop mending when in the TR anyway.

@Decarcassor said:
Notice that I'm not talking about Legion being good or bad after the rework my only concern is about the completly uninteractive and risk free nature of Deep Wound and Mending.
I personnaly think a shorter Mending time would be fine if it was a more interactive mechanic for both killer and survivors.
I agree it's not interesting, but it's also not pointless. The purpose is to draw out the game and give the killer time to deal with things. Making it shorter just weakens it
-
The fact that so many people play Legion to get downs with deep wounds just shows how many people fail to grasp the core purpose behind him and his strategy.
-
Once again, maybe try him before throwing a temper tantrum over it. He's not gonna be terrible, he was already terrible. Now you just can't play like a jerk with him. Now he doesn't ruin people's fun. And no, he's nothing like trapper.
-
I got some fine kickin legs.
-
Maybe wait to see how he actually plays before crying for a refund.
-
I'm legit probably gonna leave til it's fixed, assuming it will be. I'm only ever here on mobile and everything is so thin and hard to navigate, it's just not worth it.
-
Yeah, the lower skill cap a killer has the weaker they're gonna be. Legion, Doc and Leatherface have next to no skill required. Not to say mains of them are bad, just that there's a limit to what you can do with them.

Unless the video lies. Yes.
Oh I can't wait, that's beautiful. You could combo that with Haunted Grounds too
-
Are you telling me I can trigger endgame pig shenanigans right off the bat?

@MegsAreEvil said:
Besides that NOED needs a real rework. Its just dumb to give killers a nobrainer for playing poor the entire game.
They already said NOED was fine so don't get your hopes up. Better learn totem spots.
-
Oh hey, being able to close the hatch means being able to get NOED on the last survivor. That's handy.
-
Huh I must have missed that one. Still been a while.

Because they will be ez to loop like most of the killers huh? Of course survivors must have fun, because it's only about them.
They'll be harder to loop now cause they move faster. Honestly it just seems like Legion is about to become a high skill killer. The opposite of what they were previously. You'll get some particularly brutal Legions but you probably won't see nearly as many as currently and they won't be as infuriating to fight. I'm honestly super excited for this update.
-
How often do we get these because like..i need bp
The last was like.....I think shortly after the summer event? It's been a while.
-
I'm honestly ready to see Legion get the Freddy treatment. And in the event this does make him better, it sounds like he'll be a lot more fun to face.

SWF is no fun for the people facing it. When does it get gutted so we don't have to see it every game? @ClogWench
Point still stands on Adrenaline, too. Moving the goal posts doesn't count.
It's not moving the goal post irt adrenaline. There's a difference between a killer dealing with a single use perk near the end of a match, and 4 survivors dealing with an entirely unfun, mending simulator of a killer for 10 minutes. Either way, I'm happy with this change. Would have preferred to see Legion get an overhaul entirely but this is better than a buff.

If "meta" is used to mean "what is perceived to be the most effective strategy at any given point in time", then it is indistinguishable from "the most used strategy", since people will naturally gravitate to what they perceive to be the most effective strategy.
Then we're both right. Since you can only base things on what humans know, meta is both the most effective tactic available (to human knowledge at present) AND the most frequently used tactic.

Adrenawin is no fun for people facing it. What is the going to be gutted so we don't have have to see it every second game? @ClogWench
Adrenaline isn't a whole killer, it's a single use perk that a survivor needs to reach the endgame to use.
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
@ClogWench You're ecstatic because the devs are adding a killer with no use whatsoever that is well below Freddy tier?
That's dumb. Every killer should be fun and this update is no fun for Legion.
Legion was no fun for people facing him. They clearly weren't about to rework him so at least now I'm not gonna see him every second game.
-
@Orion said:

Then meta is an irrelevant term, because the most effective strategy can never be known for sure.
All knowledge is based on that which we do not know. Will you fight? Or will you perish like a dog?
-
This is beautiful, I'm ecstatic about this change

I don’t camp I just wanted to know if she is viable and what perks are best with her . I suck with spirit and I main pig . Would you say she’s better than pig ?
Oh I wasn't implying you camp. Just that she has a reputation. I'd say she's better than pig mostly cause of her map control and chase potential. She can shut down loops entirely by simply placing a trap
-
@GrootDude said:
@KillermainBTWm8 they changed bnp and I believe insta-heals are on the list. Should they revert the bnp change since it is ultra-rare?
The difference being that for survivors, they can bring 4 in a game. That's why BNP got changed, you could bang out 4 gens in literal seconds
-
She's really solid, because she's effective at shutting down loops and making areas incredibly unsafe in chases. If you're using her to camp you're using her wrong.
-
..
-
Yeah I'm sure, wanna argue about it?

Here comes the NOED rage

You just said it did, at least sometimes. So how can the most effective strategy be different if the game is exactly the same as it was before?
Now you're just cherry picking. Meta straight up means Most Effective Tactic Available. Regardless of what you choose to believe, it's not simply the most used tactic. If a large enough portion of people choose to change how they play, and others in turn choose to change how THEY play as a means of countering that, and that strategy works better, then suddenly the most effective strategy has changed. It's rare that it happens without an update, but it's STILL true that it's the most effective tactic available.
-
@Orion said:

If the "meta" were the most effective strategy, it would never change outside game updates. To say that the meta changed is to acknowledge that you're not using it to refer to the most effective strategy.
That's why so many games get boring without updates, because otherwise the meta doesn't change.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/421555#Comment_421555
But that's not what it is. Even if the original definition of "meta" is different from what it means now, it was always used with the same intent, because players (mistakenly) presume to know what the most effective strategy is. If a meta were truly the most effective strategy, then it would be stagnant outside game updates, but it is not. It constantly shifts and evolves as players gain a broader understanding of the game.
Most game metas DO only change with updates. I have no idea what you're on about.

@Bbbrian2013 Not true. Bbq is nice but it doesnt fit the jumpscare build op is going for. Theres simply no room for it. Just run a survivor pudding or bloody party streamers.
Knowing where the survivors are gives you more map control though, letting you better position yourself to surprise them.

@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/421542#Comment_421542
Which do you think is faster, a dictionary update, or a language evolving?
I've always understood meta as being the most tactical option, used more than most other options because it's the best one.
-
Scratched Mirror Myers on Lerys is solid. M&A, Haunted Grounds, BBQ&Chilli and Ruin. Its probably the best option you get for him.

Just stay near an object. That way it's easier to make him crash into something.
You can still effectively steer around it if you're careful and well familiar with his controls. And if you're doing it around tight objects, you're likely gonna quickly be in M1 range.
-
Boil Over is extremely weak, and since it's your only real tool to avoid being hooked, this build fully relies on the killer slugging you
-
@PiiFree said:
Docs 3 gen strat is incredibly strong. Give him the right perks and some cheap range add-ons and it's really hard to win against unless they're playing in a well co-ordinated SWF.
He's not someone that can quickly get kills, but you get them easily with patience and dedication. Pick 3 close gens that are easily accessible but don't allow for much looping and you'll win against most teams.
I'd rather not have 45 minute drawn out matches because the survivors won't come near the 3 gens and I can't leave them. I don't really see that as the sign of a good killer.

Take Doc out of that list and put Leatherface in his spot please. At least Doc can actually do something at loops and make an attempt to trick the Survivor. Leatherface might as well be a 115% powerless Killer when not out in the open. I'd say Legion is the worst Killer because they're basically a 110% M1 Killer with a power that takes 3-4 hits to down.
You can chainsaw around loops. Doc can't do much unless a survivor makes a big mistake. I like Doc but I 100% believe he's the weakest killer by a landslide
-
@MegsAreEvil said:
@PiiFree: Devs already said that camping is situational but not overall wanted. thats how it is. they already understand that camping and tunneling is only hurting the game in general. so there is no way not do punish those who camp and tunnel all the time. comparing doing gens and looping with camping and tunneling is exactly that why the game is in bad shape. you dont want to understand anything regard toxicity. survivors have to loop in order to win chases, survivors have to do gen in order to escape. killer dont have to camp or tunnel for anything. they do it cause they can, not because they have to. but well i know you arent willing to understand that. so get lost.
Survivors have the power to punish camping. It's your fault if you don't capitalize on that.

... That made me laugh so I'll give you a pass.
If it helps I think Doc is worse. Legion could be better with some minor buffs at least, but right now he's in this weird state of imbalance where 1v1 he's unstoppable but a coordinated team demolishes him harder than most other killers. Same with trapper.
-
@Shad03 said:
@ClogWench I take great offence to hearing Legion and Trapper being called worst killer.

@ClogWench I wonder who will be the worst killer after Freddy.
Freddy had some major flaws and no other killer were able to come close to him.
I'd guess Legion, Doc or Trapper

If Freddy gets buffed out of Freddy tier, do we still have a Freddy tier?

@PiiFree: They wont get any better by camping and tunneling, just getting more grief. And camping and tunneling is nothing to accept. Do you accept thiefs in RL? Why not? Its their lifestyle. Sorry but acting like a moral apostel, justifying somethin thats not to be justified, thats BS. Learn to play the game properly and behave properly. Iam not that good of an killer myself but i dont camp or tunnel due to obvious reasons: im not a toxic player.
@Frozenscum: this isnt a survivor rule, thats how to be fairplay and not toxic trash. Also majority of survivors arent toxic. 89% of my teammates werent toxic, but 75% of the killers were. thats a fact throughout the last season. killers are the source of toxicity in this game. thats a fact.
Comparing someone playing in an unfriendly manner to irl criminal activity is the hottest take I've ever seen here. Well done.
