WoW wouldn't hard counter it because it has a cooldown
It's enough of one though
-
I'm jealous of the new Freddy cause I also want to make blood gush from machinery
-
He's in a solid spot right now, I'm enjoying him a lot.
-
Just play Prayer Beads Spirit
-
If y'all hate this game so much why keep playing

They just told us how all of his power works. Your head is lodged where the sun doesn't shine if you think there's some magic reason his power will suddenly do something.
He's a debuffing trap killer, Plague literally permanently injures people and she's laughable, but hey, telling people dream state is a debuff is going to make them brainlessly consider it threatening?
His traps don't affect the most crucial time of the game, and don't function intermittantly through the match.
I don't understand people like you who are so happy to have bad killers handed t o us, because "it might miraculously get better next week without any feedback!"
His traps help end chases much faster than they could before, which gives you more time to patrol and pressure gens. I don't understand people like you who insist on throwing a fit with every update, especially before it's even come out. But you know what, you do you. I'm excited for the buff, and I'm excited for all the new builds he has the potential for. Enjoy your complaining though.

The shape is so much better then "the myers" or anything silly like that though
It is, but people said it didn't make sense when he came out because they didn't realize it was a term from the movies.
-
That's one free hookstate off each survivor just cause you used an add-on.
-
My only issue so far has been that finding good places to lean out from is a bit hard on some maps, and that corn hits him real hard. Survivors have an easier time breaking him through corn than he has of seeing them through it. Otherwise I'm having a lot of fun with him.
-
Yeah still seems pretty broken and unfair if I'm being honest.

You can teleport ONCE in that time, and survivors are instantly told you're Freddy as the match starts, so they're not going to fall for cheap Discordance plays that everyone will use.
You seem very insistent that garbage on par with Plague and Ghostface should be shipped just so that you can have a superiority complex on the internet.
And you seem insistent that a killer who isn't even available for play testing yet is going to be complete garbage. Think critically instead of whining immediately that something is useless.

It largely depends on how quickly you find the first survivor, which has nothing to do with "pressure".
You're right but that's not too hard to do really. Lot of decent perks can help with that. Out of curiosity, does the dream transition only happen if you're chasing, or can it happen in oblivious proximity to the survivors
-
Its like how people complained about the name "the Shape" all over again

"And don't forget, you can't use your traps until 3 gens are done"
Eh?
He thinks 3 gens get immediately done in the first minute of the game every time. Doesn't know how to apply pressure.
-
He does have map pressure and being able to end chases quickly is really good. No one was expecting him to be top tier but this is a solid upgrade and anyone insisting on staying asleep is gonna find chases to be a lot more dangerous
-
@anarchy753 said:
Oh yeah, what an upside, he can control loops, but only after being looped enough to get a hit anyway, or waiting A FULL MINUTE while 3 gens go off.
Careful there, nearly gave Freddy a power that'd net him a kill.
How over dramatic. First off, he now has tools for gen pressure. He also has that transition flicker meaning he can potentially close distance before the first hit. Once you get the first hit the second comes quickly. It's people like you who are the reason no one takes killer complaints seriously.

@Shaped said:
Fair enough. But still it kinda feels like a base kit considering how many people use it. Sometimes it feels like a 3-perk game with those two so common.
Maybe so but they're not that common for beginners, and even if they are in higher ranks, giving someone that effect +4 more perks is just too much.

I do think it shouldn't reveal fake pallets.
WoW is not a strong perk anyways,and is good at doing only one thing: revealing pallets with a cooldown.
Let it do its job properly.
Nah, a niche perk shouldn't be able to nullify a majority of a killers power (power+add on in this case).

I never understood why people find those two perks strong. Ds was broken before but it is in a good place now except the end game. Ruin is there to buy you a little bit of time which can make some difference or not depending on some other factors.
I see them as necessity but not strong.
Ruin is extremely challenging to deal with for new and low rank players. It's less frequently encountered in those ranks though since most new killers don't have access to many teachables, and Hag is a hard killer to use early on. If it became base kit, new players would find the game too hard starting off and abandon it. Considering DbD is hemorrhaging old players, it's relying on drawing in new ones to keep the game populated.
DS on the other hand is still a powerful perk, just not broken as it once was. But like most perks it becomes much more of a hassle to deal with when all 4 have it. Combine that with ridiculous endgame potential. Its currently extremely strong (could use the stun time being reduced again since there's no reason for it with enduring nerfed), but making it base kit so everyone gets it AND 4 more perks each is way too much and would quickly make playing killer a miserable experience. Neither of these perks needs to be basekit. No perk that the majority of players use should be basekit.
-
@HURRI_KAIN said:
DS should affect all survivors if anyone brings it in. It doesn't make sense as is that you can be Obsession but not have obsession perks, just because someone brought DS in. As far as Ruin, that's far too OP and would completely cripple new players. DS has a timer and only works if you are tunneled, a game mechanic being abused anyway.
If one player bringing in DS gave the effect to everyone they'd have to heavily weaken it imo.
-
Absolutely not. Ruin adds too much of a penalty to new players making the game deeply inaccessible and I'm not even gonna start on why DS shouldn't be baseline
-
Shouldn't, rather. Forum doesn't want to let me edit.
-
You should be able to get free grabs that easily, especially considering in your scenario the killer could do it again after the survivor woke up again.
-
I'm imagining it would show them as usual
-
The one that keeps you from being seen would be way too broken to keep if I'm being honest
-
I'm imagining the saw sets will drop at once. It'd be dumb if they didn't really

Ruin is just a lazy way to defend the generators, my opinion is if you can't play without it you aren't as good as you think.
If you can't play rank 20-5 without it maybe. Once you hit red ranks the genrush is just too fast without it.
-
I've been powering through getting the platinum trophy for Fallout 4 recently. Also been playing a lot of A Plague Tale: Innocence which is one of the more fun stealth games I've played yet. Gonna go back to Alien Isolation after it I think.

Doesn't really matter that a micro-sleep hit puts them into dream state when there's no real reason to wake up anymore. Use your clock if it's nearby, nap and gen rush if it isn't.
Being in the dream state makes you easier to kill in loops tho. Harder to genrush when chases are ending faster
-
One killer mains garbage is another killer mains treasure
-
I swear I only ever see you complain. None of the cons you stated are that bad in comparison to what he gets in return. He can stop loops, apply map pressure, the flickering as he approaches gives interesting ability to approach without being easily seen, and the dream world transition is without effort which is a nice change. It might take 60 seconds but it's also not mandatory for him to work. He's not gonna be top tier but now he's at least useful

With all due respect, if you think that you obviously weren't that skilled at freddy. he needed a few tweaks and thats it. now hes just a mobility killers, like wraith. and we all know where wraith sits on the tierlist
Freddy could be easily abused by good survivors, had literally nothing to help with loops, very counter productive add-ons (including one of the worst iridescent addons in the game) and on top of that was miserable to face as survivor. You had the advantage against him but it was never fun. No, despite whatever you may feel, the majority of the community felt Freddy needed a rework and the devs listened, and frankly while he doesn't sound top tier now it's better than where he was before.
Also IRT mobility killers, Wraith isn't a mobility killer, he's stealth. Mobility is things like Spirit, Nurse, Billy or Hag. But hey, if you think they're bad who am I to argue
-
Yeah I wouldn't bank on getting anything out of this. Just sounds like you can't figure out how to effectively play against him yet and that's on you.
-
@Dr_Trauts said:

Thats because the vast majority of the tiem, the devs dont understand their own game
I think they have a decent grasp most of the time. It's easy to look past all the positive changes made just to cry about something. Freddy needed to change and a few number tweaks weren't going to help with that
-
The devs can't touch anything without someone screaming that the sky is falling and begging for a refund of some sort.
-
It'd be a lot of effort for, imo, not super impressive payoff. I'd rather see that energy go into overall game health rather than custom maps. I like the idea of expanding the KYF mode but right now I feel there's more pressing issues that need to be addressed.
-
This sounds like a genuinely terrible idea, I'm sorry bud. Just make things more miserable for both sides

A small margin would be a victory though, at the present time given an equal skills killer to survivor some killers cannot compete consistently at high ranks. They may get the off win when versing people with lower skill level but the difference between a nurse and a legion is staggering. I usually main nurse, spirit , legion and mickey, and the difference is mind blowing
I don't doubt it, I do think changes need to be made to balance. I just don't think your ideas would work. At best they'd make the game unfun, at worst they'd outright kill the survivor community and make things miserable for experienced players.

@BBQnDemogorgon said:
@ClogWench My point was adressing your handicapping statement.
The extremes are used intentionally.
Not playing Nurse with Omega blink but choosing to play insta saw billy is handicapping yourself in comparison.
I'm addressing the precedent "handicapping" as an excuse against the worst vs the best sets.
Everything should be fun and viable against all opponents is my point you should be able to run anything and not worry about a handicap because if we all did we would all play Nurse.
You shouldn't be at a disadvantage for choosing to play no perk freddy instead everything should be even.. one universal killer tier including perks.
You can not have a system that has perks with special bonuses and still maintain a balance between using those bonuses and not. That is not how games work. It'd be great if it did but it's not and it never will be. The only way to accomplish what you want is to outright abolish perks entirely. I support buffing killers to work at higher tiers but there's always gonna be someone better than the others, even by a small margin.
-
Early ranks yeah killer is easier. Once you reach ranks where survivors know what they're doing though that all goes out the window
-
@DBDbuildsYT said:

but why do you think nurse is high tier?
because she can end chases faster nullifying looping, mentioning nurse is an even bigger point to show looping being the main source of unbalance in the game.
Even more than gen rushing because if chases end fast people CANNOT work on gens because they will be targeted right away from the killer for another short chase.
Most high tier killers have tools to combat looping, and that's the right way to go in balancing the game around it instead of gutting the game like your proposing.
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
@ClogWench So everyone should play meta build nurse then. Okay.
Everyone should be viable against players of all skill levels perks/add-ons or not.
If a new player gets to rank 1 has no good perks that niche situation should be accounted for.
No player being a weak link should be accounted for in balance as well as all killers with all builds.
First off, you're using extremes on both sides. Should a no perk killer be on par with a team of well equipped skilled survivors? No, you're choosing to handicap yourself. I do think certain killers deserve buffs to play better in high tiers tho. Secondly, there are a decent few Killers who are high tier viable. It's not just nurse. But that's hardly the point

I didn't waste his time? I played the game? I looped him and lost him countless times to the point that he didn't manage to hook me. I didn't loop him while for ages I only played the game to SURVIVE as SURVIVORS are supposed to. When the last guy got downed I went to heal him because the nurse wanted to slug for the 4k. I went to heal the slugged guy and the killer came back and downed me. It wasn't like I was looping him for 3 minutes while the last guy was slugged. I was literally only playing the game. He however was not. His job was to KILL me not to wait over my body and taunt me for 4+ minutes.
Oh I'm not criticizing you for looping, it's your job to waste his time. I can get why he'd be frustrated though.
-
KYF is the only medium I support a 2v8 scenario
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
@HectorBrando And what if there isn't one?
What if you're no perk freddy against an elite 5k hours a piece squadette?
Then you're walking into a game already knowing it's an uphill battle. You don't get to handicap yourself and then act like it's an issue of balance.
-
You both wasted each others time in the end really
-
@HectorBrando said:
You gotta know when to stop chasing and start searching for the weaker link.
It's useless telling him that because he thinks that breaking a chase means you're weaker than that one survivor.

I'm actually really into this idea. Maybe a name like The Huntsman?
