    *Not that it's deserved always*

But if you 4k by any means, or 3k with a hatch escape within X amount of time. What if you automatically double pipped as killer? This would do one of two things:

Take killers who are clearly below their rank and fast track them to higher ranks where they belong

    Or

Take people who got lucky/Mori etc and fast track them into ranks higher than their skill where they will get bullied for a few games to get pushed back down.

Personally I hate 4k or 3k with hatch and "you won too fast, so black pip"... In the cases where you actually are just too good for your current rank (returning from a break or something) why linger at low ranks for winning too quickly?

Now. I don't mind hanging out at low ranks. Makes me feel like a better killer than I am. I probably belong at rank 7ish. But if I'm black pipping on the regular at rank 15 for killing too fast, that's a bit unfair to the 15s unless I purposely go easy...

On the other hand if you kill too fast due to luck, you will end up in the opposite scenario, where the killer faces survivors with skills beyond the killers. And they will black pip properly (due to lack of kills, pressure, etc).

    Just a thought.

    End result:

Good killers get to their rank faster

Some killers will be pushed into higher ranks than they belong, giving those survivors an easy game, but pushing the killer back down.

Dont you get bored playing survivors so below your skill level. I get that sometimes rank resets happen and take you back further than normal, but why kill people so fast if you are obviously better.

When that happens you should let them save more and get a lot of hook actions and instead of black pipping you will double pip and get back to a respectable rank for your skill level.

Just one man's opinion, play how you like. But I get bored if I don't have to sweat a little as killer.

It's not a dumb question and I can give you an answer.

We do have a PS4s, XB1s and also Switches. Sometimes it happens that we can't reproduce what people are having externally but with all the information that we are receiving (like here i'm asking as much as possible information) so with all these information it can help us understand what's going on exactly and after that we can simulate the issue on our side.

I have had quite a few games on PS4 where suddenly I can't do a totem, or an unhook. The game freezes up. Can't do gennys, I just stand there in front of it and nothing happens. Killer seems to be fine on his side because they keep finding me just standing there.

Also a bit of rubberbanding from time to tiime.

One only changes the animation you die, the other changes the outcome of the match, why you have to give a key to last survivor if chests still exists and you always have the chance for it.

Just playing devils advocate. I actually support this idea.

  • And last survivor alive gets a key?

@OP Freddy was nerfed almost immediately after his release based on "community feedback", and as a result became a community-wide joke for the next year and a half. The devs are (in my opinion, rightfully) trying not to make that mistake again.

The community don't always know what they're talking about, especially when they've only been playing a killer for a week at most. Deathslinger may end up needing a buff, but we'll all be in a much better position to judge that if we wait a few more weeks.

Yeah remember when everyone said the spirit was trash?

Maybe we should wait just a little bit

  • @Dehitay said:

I'll say I'd much rather they do something about gen completion speed in general. Toolbox or barehanded, it was still too fast. All they did it nerf the fastest method if genrushing, but still genrushing is easy as hell.

Cant change gen speed with out adjusting hook stages. It would be too ez to camp for wins if gen speeds get longer and hook stages stay the same.

Plus doing gennys is boring. No one wants to sit on a genny any longer.

  • This is why we have such a big disconnect between sides.

If you haven't played killer competitively in high ranks it is hard to understand how sweaty it is most games to maintain rank.

Then we ate also conditioned by emblem system that we need that 4k to "win".

You play well, try to play as fair as you can without cucking yourself , and bam safety pip. Makes it feel like a loss.

So cycle continues...gotta play super sweaty next time to make sure you pip.

What do you think killers. Would you accept 1 or 2 ks as a win, if emblem system would allow you to pip that way?

Rewarded more for hooks and gennys defended.

  • My wife and daughter play in our swf.

And my other daughter has been a rank 1 killer.

Are you sure it's just the first time? My friend started playing recently and hes told us "its ghostface" at LEAST twice based on the tips.

Seems to be a bug on ps4 because it started doing it again on our systems.

  • And him with the key..like #########?

  • There is another post saying all killers should have moris. Maybe you guys can commiserate each other.

  • Spirit with a Mori is a bit OP. If you need a Mori to compete with spirit than I'd say you need more practice with her.

I believe ebony mori needs to go, and also maybe a key to work on just one person.

The harder your competition the better you will be as a killer.

  • @toxcitynacl said:

Which means you played an easy 2v1 game...not exactly a difficult task. Congrats on your impressive victory. The other two should have just dc'ed as well. Why should I continue to play in a game like that? I am going to lose a PIP anyway why should I do the killer any favors by letting him get points for hooking and killing me. Sorry...I'm gone too in that situation.

This is a fair statement, but it is not OPs' fault that the others DCed. I agree I wouldn't post this as if I had done something amazing nor to prove that survivors just DC against Doc, to small of a sample size.

He is frustrating as hell to play against, but fun to play as. If I was in a game like that, I would just get hooked and die.

My only thing with Doc is he should lose Bloodlust when shocking. He is the only killer in the game that can use his power and not lose bloodlust.

I checked in KYF freddy does lose BL when putting down snares, so why not Doc?

  • I love spirit and freddy, the make me feel powerful, even against the best teams.

I have been getting into Doc recently as well because he frustrates me to play so I wanted to learn him better to counter.

The others I play for fun, legion and clown but I don't feel as powerful.

  • It has been a vug for awhile now. Guess it's still not fixed.

  • That is unfortunately the never ending battle. Although I can die as a survivor and still be okay if I played well and got my team out.

Same as killer, I can 3k and be ok if survivor found the hatch.

But I feel killers have been conditioned for a long time that 4ks is a win. Look at what it takes to get an adept killer trophy. Not only 4ks now but merciless. We have seen so many emblems telling us to 4k to pip and as such win.

But this is what keep the decisiveness in the game. Our win conditions are in constant conflict with each othes.

  • Camping is unfun and low skill as far as tactics are concerned. However it is sad how often it is rewarded by survivors abandoning objectives to stand by the hook and watch a guy get camped. There is also multiple perks to counter camping, BT, DS to name a few.

Also if this was in place, it would be abused by SWFs. Just stay within 40 meters, let the killer see you and the timer will pause and the other two guys pound gennys. GG after that.

Also is 40 meters even camping. In most cases that wouldn't even trigger BT.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I have made a point over the last half year to commend Survivors I find particularly good.

I agree that using Well played instead of Good Game is way better too.

I always send a gg. Or if they were really good I send GG WP. But I would see the Well Played as more of an insult if I didn't play well than GG. As in organized sports , you line up and slap hands and say Good game. It is just basic sportsmanship, regardless of how the game played out. Like in Football when the team shake hands at the end of the game.

However if you completely stomped someone, I wouldn't tell them well played, because that wasn't the case. And perhaps that could be seen as offensive.

Either way I think perhaps we could all relax just a bit. Are we now at the stage in this game where even a GG is toxic?

  • It stinks that you would be so rude to a person that is clearly not at your skill level. I have seen it on both sides. Killers that have depiped to stomp newer survivors, bringing in ebony moris and all their meta perks. Saying " I just haven't played in awhile." Like you know your skill level, don't come into a game with all that meta that you would use against red ranks and pretend you didn't know the survivors at rank 20 were going to be that bad.

Same I see with so many survivors after ruin nerf. Like get that toolbox out of here, I know they were just nerfed as well. But it was a little salt in the wound at that moment.

  • What is the problem?

  • Yeah, let's use a Fungoose video where he 4ks with no gennys even being completed. All you killer mains you should check him out if you haven't, he will improve your game.

But shameless plug of my favorite streamer aside, we do need to stop using streamers as proof. Most of these guys have thousands of hours in game and as such have so much more experience than most everyday players. I know the goose is over 8k hours.

They are a great asset in demonstrating how well one can play and showing how valuable experience is in this game. But they are the outlyers and not an accurate representation of all DBD players.

  • Yeah toolboxes need a nerf after ruin.

They can get a bit op in the right hands and with more than 1.

You need Brutal Strenght or you will get schooled, you need to break down those walls as fast as possible because every loop is too safe with the wall and becomes too unsafe without it.

Also, there is too much empty space near the corners in my opinion.

How many breakable walls are there. I forgot about those.

Freddy doesn't lose bloodlust when placing traps or pallets. Killers don't use bloodlust from non lethal actions. So no. He shouldn't.

So I checked it out in KYF and indeed he does lose bloodlust when placing a snare. I think doc is the only one that does not. Wonder if this is intended.

  • I had this a few times on ps4. Couldn't work on a genny nor save any one from the hook. Rubber banding everywhere.

  • I don't see a lot of red rank killers camping, I do see a lot of tunneling tho. Which I used to rage against, but now I just move on to the next game and send them a gg.

As much as we hate it when we play survivor, there are tactics survivors used that are frustrating to a killer as well.

Do you ever play killer? And I mean competitively. Not just meme around doing dailies. I mean really try to rank up and get to red/purple. Because it can be quite the struggle sometimes, and may require unfun tactics to stay competitive.

And just to throw this out there, that is why we have BT and DS.

  • I did 7 devotions as a killer. Just did my first devotion as a survivor. I would say overall I have been a killer main, didn't play survivor at all.

Now I mainly play survivor about 75% of the time and just do killer enough so I don't lose to much rank and have to play against baby survivors.

  • Killer can be tough in high ranks, especially if you go with a weaker killer. I usually have a lot of success, but I do play plenty sweaty. I think the hard part is not expecting a 4k.

I have played for awhile now, and was conditioned that 4k was a win. I think this is the biggest disconnect between the two sides. Survivors of course want to escape, but a lot of killers want 4ks.

They need to change the emblem system to reflect more hooks and gen protection as a pip for killers and not so much the kills. Then maybe we can see and accept less kills as a win. But this will be hard for those of us that have played killer for a long time.

  • Indoor maps for me, killer or survivor.

    Also Haddenfield as a killer.

  • Yeah, I also play both sides. I was long time killer main, as such I always send a GG WP to the killer after the game.

I understand how frustrating it is as a survivor to be tunneled out of the game. But I also understand playing high ranks is tough for killers and sometimes you just take whatever you can get to keep the momentum going your way.

So even if I am frustrated from a tunnel, mori, first hook noed death, I am sending a gg. It does take a second to process and deal with the frustration, but you have to accept it is their choice on how they want to play. Also you will be surprised how pleasant many killers are when you actually swallow your pride and send them a gg. And perhaps they may mellow and not tunnel so hard next game.

Although my newer killers, you will limit your growth a bit from tunneling and camping.

  • SWF is what keeps the game competitive. I have stated this before. As a killer 4 randos can almost always end in 4ks. Most SWFs are not even that good to begin with. And a large percentage of us just chill and talk about our day, with the occasional, "Oh he is on me" or "It's a trapper" things that a person would figure out on their own anyway when the see the obvious signs. Such as Plague fountains or pig boxes etc, guy suddenly injured.

And I have ran into some really great killers at red and even purple ranks. They have destroyed us. Sure we also have nights where we escape almost every game, at least 2 of us. But matchmaking and a bit of luck can factor into that.

As a killer I always just assume everyone I play is in some sort of a SWF and play accordingly. I don't camp and don't tunnel someone off the hook anyway so I will find you on my patrols. And regardless if someone is SWF or not, it still won't help them in a chase. If I win the chases quick, survivors don't stand a chance anyway. If i get tunnel vision and chase a really good looper for two minutes, then it wouldn't matter if it was SWF or not because others would do gennys anyhow.

  • Same for survivors. Sometimes you just pound gennys...killer can't hook anyone so no benevolence score. Escape. And depip. Like how's is that not a win?

Guess gotta let killer hook people to have a chance to pip.

  • @Milo said:

But you want to be make it anti tunnel by making it so hooking deactivates it.

To me it would make sense if getting slugged (you know after getting tunelled) would still punish the killer IF he went after you and decided to not hook another person. And not just wait 40-60 seconds for that timer to expire.

Funny how comments like.."oh survivor mains wony like it" exist. Then suggest the timer pauses when slugged and it becomes " oh no..that's a counter "

How bout pauses when slugged but becomes inactive if the survivor does a genny or totem. Then we have a true anti tunnel perk.

  • True. ^ just hit em and they scream.

I'm a baby killer, I play killer only to achieve my quests or have fun.

This morning I faced claudettes on yamaoka twice! However different teams!

They were noobs, I ended chase fast (while I only play clown), but bloody claudettes were hidden all along. They win.

As a survivor, I use fun perks, that I like, not tier perks. I wear my beautiful kpop suits with Jake and Feng.

On killer side too, I play what I like, no noed, ruin, DS etc..

I don't understand what's the fun for that kind of player. Hidden all game along and doing gens? Wow so fun lol

When I play survivor I love to be chase more than being hidden.

But I think some survivors are too weak, that they are afraid of a baby killer green rank like me lol

    Come on

Point being....noed is for baby kilkers?

    No argument here.

  • Yeah I mean what ranks are you playing that you win two chases and do two hook animations...then win chase against the ds guy and still get hit with DS.

All that in under a minute?

I'd say if this is all true, you got time to eat the stun. A d are probably winning anyway.

Otz getting 4K with Trapper, Scott with Oni and so on doesn’t mean anyone can just pick them up and crush people

That's a BS narrative. Adrenaline procs while your on a hook, there is no way it isn't a crutch under the same definition because just like NoED, regardless of what you actually contribute you get rewarded.

Well hopefully a person on your team is contributing equally. In that case it would be a crutch for them.

Look I have no problem with NOED, but it limit's one growth as a killer. And I don't understand why a killer would make this a meta perk for themselves unless the were constantly letting survivors power the exit gates. I mean how many times in a row is the same killer letting four people go that they would sacrifice a perk slot, for an end game perk that may not even go off. And if it does will probably get cleansed in a minute anyway by the skillful team that made the play the perk to begin with.

except for the part that bt doesnt counter cmaping survivors never use it that way instead they hook bomb without giving the killer chances to leave so they get out of that situation for free, ds doesnt counter tunneling survivors use it to have 60 seconds of immunity to pressure gens and stuff while injured, pretty much an ANTI MOMENTUM perk than tunneling, i dont find many problems with adrenanile, you play with 3 perks all game to get something at the end if u get all gens same can be sayed with noed you play with 3 perks and something if all gens are done, because thats the end game for killers different to end game for survivors, and finally dead hard is a very good perk wich fixes mistakes, is very strong and i use it and is pretty much op if used correctly but with dedicated servers is not that huge of a deal unless you know how to use it.

I can get behind many of your points, except there are a majority of survivors, like myself, whom are not good enough to use it that way. BT for us is a last resort against a camper. We don't hook bomb, but when I play killer I love those that do, just trading hooks with each other now. Thanks for the hook actions.

I did admit in my post that some survivors abuse the DS mechanic, I am also not good enough to do this, and I won't run DS unless I am having one of those nights where I seem to be found first and tunneled a bunch of games in a row. As a long time killer main, I still feel DS is unbalanced, but sometimes it can save you from" too many tunnels in a row symptom"

And DH is strong, and allows to recover from a mistake which is why I listed that one as a crutch perk.

  • Yeah those wait time can get me in trouble on a Friday night. Nothing to do while I wait but take shots of bourbon with my friends.

FYI some of you killers are getting looped by a drunk dude.

  • @Mc_Harty said:

They can't handle killers using 1 crutch perk while they have a build based on them.

I'd argue DH is the only crutch perk here. Adrenaline rewards you for doing objectives. DS counters tunneling, although I know really confident survivors may abuse the mechanic, and BT counters camping. Not to mention most that run adrenaline don't heal all game, so a killer essentially has NOED on them all game anyway.

I'd say it is 1 crutch perk each.

  • Could be that there is a lot of tunneling as is. Perhaps you are having a bad stretch of games where you are caught first, hence getting tunneled a lot. I can't imagine they are tunneling you just because you are the obsession. Besides the other reasons mentioned already.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

Look at all these salty survivor mains mad about Killers taking advantage of ######### teammates in a TEAM-BASED game lmao.

Not mad about taking advantage of the weakest link. That is fine. But working with some crap survivor that doesn't have the skill to give the killer a challenge and hence tries to sell out their teammates in order to, I guess, get more points and survive?

In any other team game , you would be drop this guy. NO one wants to play a team game with a traitor. And as a killer I would just put that dude on a hook and tunnel them out of the game. I have no respect for working with the other side, nor selling out your teammates.

You want to play for the other side, you had that right before you readied up.

  • I gotta agree, snares are so much stronger than fake pallets. IMO, you can completely shut down loops and find surviviors
