My game is constantly freezing!!!

Killer M1 = freeze for a few seconds

Use dead hard = freez for some seconds

Down someone = freeze for some seconds

Gen pops = freeze for some seconds

This was NOT a thing before the latest update, and I'm sure it's part of the bugs which came with the early release of this patch. The question is, did the devs found the issue and a fix for that? And when can we expect a hotfix release?

@Peanits or @Patricia do you have a few information to share with us? It's very annoying because a lose a lot of matches because of these freezes.

It's happening on pc for me. Like, I legit die because of that and legit can't down survivors JUST because if that.

Yeah my game just now i couldnt hit a few hits because i gained bloodlust and right as i do they try to 360 and the game stutters and with the low frames im just like "######### is going on ?" Blind hit - oh look hes over there now...

Got 2 kills and i was vsing a swf rank 8s and red ranks :) at rank 11 killer :)

I click on my bloodweb and the game has mini heart attack. It's bad out here man ;-;

I’ve only noticed the game freezing for a second when you throw a pallet down while the killer is swinging, gets me killed a lot lately.

• Internet connection speed?
• Date and time of when you got the issue (if you can have a recent repro this would be better)?

Just curious but do you guys have PS4s, XB1s and Switches in office that you do testing on? Might be a dumb question but Idk how game development works, especially when you began as solely a PC game.

It's becoming pretty unplayable for me on PS4 recently. Usually the 1st and second matches are like before the latest patch and then things gradually start going downhill up to the point where I have to switch off the console and let it rest for a few minutes.

The most noticeable things are the ones people already mentioned above. Whenever there is an interaction with an object, or another player the game freezes for up to a second.

In addition, the actual lobbies run at 10-15 frames per second and after I've played 3 or 4 survivor matches, skillchecks become increasingly more buggy up to the point where I only get around 4-5 frames per skillcheck (i.e. i only see 4 or 5 positions of the cursor).

I know people tend to joke that there are some major optimisation issues with console, but it's never been this bad before. In fact it was significantly better after the last optimisation patch up to about a week ago when the new update hit.

It's not a dumb question and I can give you an answer.

We do have a PS4s, XB1s and also Switches. Sometimes it happens that we can't reproduce what people are having externally but with all the information that we are receiving (like here i'm asking as much as possible information) so with all these information it can help us understand what's going on exactly and after that we can simulate the issue on our side.

1 - PC gaming laptop steam version, windows 10, I7-7700hq, 16gb ram, gtx 1070

2 - Wasn't happening before the latest patch went live.

3 - 200mb down 15mb up spectrum cable internet.

4 - Every day I have played after the patch. Random times throughout the day.

5 - Happens once a match or every second match normally when trying to hit someone as killer or starting an action as survivor, perk activation or a killer trying to hit me. Seems to be tied with interactions in game.

6 - Not tied to a specific killer or survivor it randomly happens with all of them.

7 - can't get logs atm as not at home ?.

There's heavy drops in the menus which increase after playing matches. Corn , doctor/nurse can cause drops too.

• Was it happening before the last update or after? Only after the rift update. And after the hotfix it got even worse
• Internet connection speed? 50 down and 10 up
• Date and time of when you got the issue (if you can have a recent repro this would be better)? It happens every day every time, I tested this all over the place between 11am-4am EU time zone
• Repro rate? Almost every match at least once and usually in the beginning but it happens often randomly. Some matches are extremely freezing (I just DC and restart dbd cuz it's that bad) and other matches just 1-3 times.

I’m not on PC but I am experiencing this on PS4. I have good internet connection and it started happening after the rift update.

I have had quite a few games on PS4 where suddenly I can't do a totem, or an unhook. The game freezes up. Can't do gennys, I just stand there in front of it and nothing happens. Killer seems to be fine on his side because they keep finding me just standing there.

Also a bit of rubberbanding from time to tiime.

this is still an issue .... I don't for one minute see how you can say this isn't an issue internally because its been reported literally for years and it is STILL happening now....

any idea if you're actually going to fix this ?

interesting i thought my internet providers was struggling due to more people being at home, however if this was a DBD issue that would explain my recent games. at first i thought i just hadnt played in awhile then i noticed constant drops thinking my providers are struggling but this would really explain the issues. XBOX btw.

Still no response... i've reported it the way they've asked and a few other people have and it just gets ignored saying its peoples internet

if it was internet providers it would be RANDOM it wouldn't be during actions ... thats optimisation and NOTHING TO DO WITH INTERNET PROVIDERS

i'm so sick of it now i'm close to just uninstalling the game, as a survivor I can't use deadhard because theres a good chance the game is going to freeze as they go to hit me

its got to the point now that when I suffer my first hit the game freezes until the killer has recovered and has hit me and downed me .... its pathetic that this has been going on for years and it hasn't been resolved

I'm still getting these hiccups til' this day. Happens both on my PS4 Pro and OG PS4. I can't get the footage because it's random. Yes, I know how to use the pre-built recorder on PlayStation. This more or so happens for me when it's a momentum chase, sometimes when I head-on the killer etc. It's getting annoying and getting me killed. I head-on the Killer for a stun and by time it unfroze the killer had slugged me... So much fun!

Let me also state. My game is installed on internal HDD not external (I tried switching to see if it helped, it didn't). Cleared my cache on PS4. Still no fix. Also forgot to add this happens a lot when killer has Thanatophobia.
