Because thrilling tells me which gens to go too. BBQ for points and to see if someone is coming for the rescue.
The points are nice. I doubt anyone is coming in the first 5 seconds after a hook, but each there own.
-
They did address it. Ruin nerf was a start. Now toolboxes are nerfed to the ground. Which was needed after ruin nerf.
You cant get 4 survivors all in chase at 1 time so you are of course going to lose a genny or two early. It is Not the end of the game when you lose 2 gennys btw.
Also we know some killers are weaker than others. They cant all be equal because of different powers. You want to dominate take a strong killer. You like playing another killer, accept a lower kill average.
-
I like 2 main builds on her.
Pop, thrilling, devour and haunted ground can become a quick lethal snowball.
Or discordance ,pop, thrilling/ bbq choose 1, and 4th changeable. I usually do ruin or haunted maybe infectious fright

Discordance
BBQ
POP
Thrilling tremors
Why would you run thrilling and bbq? They basically give you the same info. Ones a little more slow down and ones more information but same idea.
-
Ds is an unbalanced perk. And I would never run it before. But with the rise of tunneling tactics I have started to.
Had face camping bubba game the other day. 1 got out. He gets ne at the gates and proceeds to face camp me. I kobe , get downed of course, hit that ds and was out the door. Pretty cool moment for me.
And normally I would say. Unbalanced perk right there. But he deserved it. Literally facecamped all game. We did 2 gennys right next to him while he ran chainsaw on our hooked friend.
-
I don't know if it is any one killer. It is more going against all the op stuff that I hate. Forever freddy = boring, ire huntress, noed ebony spirit.
I guess if I had to pick one it may be the pig. I hate RBT they always seem to come off at he last box for me. Also when you have one you can't really play the game anymore because your constantly at boxes. And a lot of them just tunnel you

With the hitboxes that hatchets have, they need a change.
Especially with belt. Dodge 2 hatchets and get hit by a third one. I mean c'mon.
Plus 13000 pts, like that's a losing score for blood points.
-
Yeah don't fall for this tactic. They want you to spend 2 minutes chasing them.
Know where there friends are? On gennys! Go patrol them.
-
Yeah. After ruin nerf toolboxes had to go.

I thought that version 3.6.0 was overhauled again, but I realized that it was only for the newly released map. So none of the maps have changed and I'm leaving the killer afk again. The only reason I stay Afk is shard as usual.
Did you quote the wrong person?

sure but what does that matter if they never go for those higher ranks anyway, there is no need to be there, no more points or whatever.
As soon as they stomped the babies and ranked back up to idk 9, they will just do a bunch of afk matches to rank back down again, those low ranks is all teh gameplay they want and will get anyway.
I guess that is the point. I just wouldn't want to play a game that was too ez. Surely that would get boring at some point.
-
You realize if you depip back to a 20 you are actually hindering your own growth. Sure stomp some noobs with no game experience. But then you will develop bad habits that won't be effective as you rank up against higher rank survivors. I.E. committing to chases for to long because the survivors aren't pressuring the gens nor looping effectively.
I understand not wanting to sweat every game, but if you play a bit more relaxed you will eventually depip to a rank that works with your play style. I mean how fun can it be to wipe the floor with the other side without sweating a bit.

Good survivors don't even get hooked once, but at the same time I don't want to premptively ruin everyone's games simply because i'm scared that every group of survivors are going to take the game hostage.
Actually I meant, playing a mori is a killer surrendering. It is surrenders their opportunity to get better and makes the game ez mode. Wasn't trying to actually promote using a mori. Some times sarcasm doesn't come across in posts. lol
-
Its called a mori.
-
I understand. I just feel we all need to do our best to decrease the toxicity.
There are countless threads on both sides that only want to put the others down. And it is not the side on chooses to play that is toxic, but the player themselves.
Toxic people will be toxic in whatever role they play. I prefer we don't attempt to divide this community along survivor/killer lines. Thanks for the reply.

This post is funny to me!
Just became a Zarina main. I got a p3 claudette out of loyalty to a character I started with when self care was broken. And friends said you going to need to self care. Cause got my bill, ash, feng and meg.
But no one in my swf plays zarina...as such I feel I get to be an individual in our group with her. P1 zarina at the moment.
Cant wait to see what the future holds for old zarina. Be easy killers....we dont have all our perks yet!
-
No. I play the same , but I may be limited on what perks are available and hence play slightly different. Like adrenaline or no adrenaline.
-
I agree with you OP. I also play both sides and have been critical of some of these strategies in the past. I will stand by previous statements that certain tactics will limit one's growth as killer/survivor. However I now allow that these terms are made up. People can play how they want.
My style doesn't have to be your style of play. You tunnel and mori me off the first hook. You still get a gg from me. I am not going to hate on how you want to play the game. I have 4kd plenty and escaped plenty. Can't win them all.
Survivors are going to try to survive and killers are going try to kill. There are plenty of counters to all of these terms. Play the game how you want, chase the skill level you want to achieve, and try to at least accept that others will do the same.
-
It is because if you truly main just one side you don't see the other's perspective as well.
For each time a survivor gets hit when they believe they shouldn't, there is a killer that doesn't get a grab or hit that they should have. Survivors say don't tunnel, yet they don't see how not tunneling in that moment may actually cost the killer any chance to swing momentum and win. Killers don't see how unfun it is to be straight tunneled out of the game. Especially when you do it to the weakest link and not the guy who is good enough not to get caught and keeps clicking his flashlight at you.
The win conditions of each side are so opposed to the other side it is hard to find common ground.
The best way to lessen the toxicity is to play both sides. And I mean competitively, not doing dailies or memeing around, but truly trying to maintain a red/purple rank. This way we can see each others point of view better and maybe be a bit more understanding of why a person might have used that tactic at that time.

Exactly, NOED is used when you have the thought you can't get your 4k before end game. Because of how toxic survivors can be, killers rely on this perk, especially with the Hex: Ruin nerf. Instead of using NOED they can use perks that slot progression on gens so they don't have a wasted perk slot.
The main people I don't mind seeing NOED on are people who are new because even though they are Rank 20, they are put with like Rank 16 survivors. Not only that, they have a chance of getting NOED taken out if the survivors do bones or not. So technically it's not the killers day if NOED activates, it's the survivors for not doing bones.
Sorry if any of this seems incorrect, as I stated I main survivor. But I don't see to many survivor mains trying to see the killer's perspective of things, so I try to give both sides a look over.
No I understand. I played killer for a long time, only recently switched to survivor. And I defend every ones right to play how the want, whether I agree with it or not.
But noed is an unfun perk that I will always see as a perk for newer killers who are struggling to learn the game.
Most survivors do bones if they see them. While trying to do gennys and win chases and do saves and heals. It is just frustrating to not get caught all game get hit with noed at the exit gates then die on first hook as they chase every one else out. Not a lot of skill there.

I'm posting this on every NOED post I see 😂😂😂
per not_Queen
"As it was mentioned in the thread by different people, NOED isn't rewarding poor gameplay from Killers:
Killer has to play the trial with only 3 perks before the doors are activated.
The perk can be fully deactivated by survivors
If the killer has no luck in hooking many survivors before the doors are activated, then the survivors should have been able to cleanse totems without feeling pressure, thus, not giving the NOED edge to the killer. It's on them if it activates.
If survivors allow the killer to get a 4K with NOED in the end game, I would argue that survivors made mistakes during their end game plays or didn't prepare for the potential NOED activation.
Finally, if you don't want to play NOED, it's your prerogative. In my opinion, building a build that is strong in end game isn't rewarding failure, it is using perks for their intended purposes. The purpose of NOED is to give a killer a burst of strength in end game. Since it's effectively strong, survivors have the power to deactivate it, if they focus secondary objectives.
The killer players choosing to play NOED are banking on a burst of strength at the end for the downside of playing with 3 perks the rest of the game and having a chance to have their perk deactivated. It's a high risk, high reward scenario.
Do bones."
This is funny to me. Not_Queen's own post states " If killer has no luck...." hence played poorly. Plus why would you want a build that you yourself admit can be denied to you by survivors before it even activates?
I am all for people to play how they want, but , noed is a crutch perk. It limits ones growth as a killer, makes them reliant on an end game savior, and is basically a defeatist attitude. Why play with the thought that survivors are even going to get to the end game?

Gotta agree with @cricketscorner . I mean 1 game is pretty small sample size.

It's not a loss until the survivors leave the trial. Please stop with this mentality of all gens getting done = loss.
Sure, for some. It is for me. I will still try to keep the gates closed, but I will not do it using noed.
-
@Junebug said:
"why take this perk that lets you down survivors in one hit AND move faster" why the ######### not???? lmao
Why not is because you go into a game expecting defeat.
I go into a game expecting to stomp the crap out of the survivors. Good luck powering my gates.
And if they do, I'm ok taking a loss, my ego is not that fragile.
Like I said, play how you want, I just don't understand how many times survivors are getting 4 people out on you that you would waste a slot on noed.
-
It's kinda like saying...look got my butt kicked luckily I had this crutch perk to save my butt at the end giving me a 4k, I must be an amazing killer.
Play how you want, but not many killers are giving much respect to a noed 4k.

Frankly I could take the rickety balance if there was any sense of decency amongst the survivor players. Nobody says GG in postgame unless they completely steamroll you, and any other time they speak up is just flaming and vitriol. I'd be happy to just chase them around and give them a scare if they'd display some basic ######### human respect for me taking my time to play the side of the game that is necessary for them to play M1 progress bar simulator.
I feel you. I personally do every game. Even if we got stomped or I didn't particularly like their play style. I just send the gg wp.
I cant tell you how many killers appreciate it and are so shocked after they get the message. I try to limit the toxicity and respect the person on the other side, like I said even if I wasn't a fan of their play style.

i will admit tho i did get tunneled alot more with claudette it seemed. And it really ruined my fun. But its in the game so nothing you can really do. :D
Yeah, I just switched to zarina, she doesn't get the hate, and no one in our swf is running her.
-
I don't know if second chance is the right word for killers. They miss a swing, it's not really a second chance if the cool down is sped up. They will be making many more swings throughout the game.
The killers whole game is one big chance to accomplish their goal. With each mistake, missed swing, time in chase all contributing to the sand running out of the hour glass.
The killer's second chance is in the next lobby when they get to decide again if they want to do that again or switch to survivor.
-
Well if you p3 Claudette, prepare for the tunneling. Many killers think all claudette play immersed.
It's not like some of us just started using her at first and tend to have a certain loyalty towards her since she was our first main.
-
Yeah I dont get why people are so mean during chat. If you are so much more skilled than your opponent, why not just say gg and move on.
It must be a fragile ego if a person has to message a negative comment to someone who was trying their best and not being toxic.
Just be happy, they won in the game, you won in life being a better person.
-
Yeah he has weaknesses. No map pressure but can snowball quickly and win chases fast. I have seen quite a few floating around hook trying to harpoon a survivor using hooked guy as bait.
I try to loop him outside of chase, leaving gennys early, throwing pallets earlier, trying to strafe him. Also working in pairs can help so someone can help break the chain for you. But I have seen some really good ones out there on PS4.

I'm 3-17 in my last 20 matches (0-8 against Deathslinger in that span). Anybody ever go through a rough patch like that?
We have had nights like that before. Cant buy an escape, good killers , mistakes lead to snowballs, bad luck.
But then we have nights where we escape almost every match. It's probably what keeps us all coming back.

It's still a waste of time. There should be a way for both to concede the match. I've had those matches where 2 claudettes are playing hide and seek as well. They are a horrible waste of time.
Conceding to the killer should give sacrifice points and only work while slugged for 50% of your bleed out timer. Conceding to the survivor should give escape points and only when 1 gen is left.
Problem solved.
"But what about slugging as a strategy?!" Frankly, I'm tired of toxic strategies being the norm on both sides. I don't care. This is a game and it is meant to be fun. 90% of matches suck anymore due to the bs in the game. Frankly tired of 4 man SWF every match and hiding Blendettes. Tired of being either slugged, camped, tunneled or farmed as survivor as well.
This right here! Well said! We all need to remember we are playing other humans at the end of the day and occasionally accept a loss. And not hate the other guy for winning.

It’s not the same thing. You’ll eventually bleed out from being slugged. So there IS a way out of the match.
There is a way out as killer too. Find em and kill them. Work on tracking, get to a high point, use your power, such as demo dog finding people near there traps.
Both methods sux and are poor sportsmanship. That's my point.
-
Its similar going against a slugging killer. It sux. Just keep getting smacked down and left to bleed out.
Some people just want to give others a bad time
-
I just found this out myself. Same with thrilling apparently

To be fair, with the new killer, I have noticed lots of the Cowboys proxy camp. They just go far enough out of Kindreds range and stand there looking at me while I’m hooked, so you can’t blame them.
Yeah I have seen this a lot. He is a great camper, sit and wait til someone takes the bait and bam, hit him with the harpoon and they can't do the save.
But to address OP post, at some point you are right, it is silly not to at least check on the hook. I am against camping and tunneling, but respect a person right to play how they want, but it is silly to play the game as if there isn't a survivor over there on a hook and knowing someone will be going for them eventually.
-
@lynelmane said:
You say the DC rate has gone down 35% now. That's great, except the fact that it didn't get rid of people leaving early for no reason and ruining the game for everyone else.
I just played a match (solo) that had an obvious two-man swf (matching usernames). The swf decided to hook suicide because apparently the other solo pointed one of them out in a locker and they wanted to leave.
This then made everyone hook suicide out of the game. Leaving me alone. And the killer didn't even let me go. The game lasted no longer than 3 minutes.
I don't know what can be done to keep this from happening but it shouldn't happen. The first person to leave then started throwing verbal abuse at me for calling them out for leaving.
Can't do anything about this. We can't force people to stay in a game they don't want to play. I mean it is a game.
Also if my teammate was snitching me out to the killer, why would I want to play with them anyway.
I think the only sad part here is the killer didn't show you any mercy, but with so few hook actions he may of been trying to save a pip, so can't hate on him either.
-
@elvangulley said:
Wouldn't that be just like hooking for the third time? At that point wouldn't it be pointless and worthless to mori
No you would have the cool animation, kinda like a fatality in Mortal Combat. I guess I could get on boared with this. The only problem would be every hooked survivor would probably be tunneled until they were available to be moried.
Also you would lose the opportunity for a pallet stun or flashlight save of someone on their last hook.
-
I have seen a decent amount of killers using him being a little campy. I worry he may develop into a camper because he can run insidious and prevent the unhook by dragging survivors away from the hook. Saving while injured could definitely cause a snowball from this style of play.

My chaser was bronze at best (chases didn't last long. Idek if blink hits count as chase)
If people die on first hook because I have all 4 of them on hooks at the same time. I lose rank there too. I probably actually performed 6 hooks? Total? Took about 2 unhooks before they are all on the ground. There was no BT or DS in this rank. So...
Yeah my mistake on chaser. But should get iridescent in gatekeeper and devout. That's 8 points there. Only need 2 to 3 more points to pip. Few more minutes of letting them save and rebook will get u a double pip.
-
Please fix this!!!!
This has happened to me all week, I thought it was me.
Now I'm ready to play my Friday night SWF, with no laggy games please!!!
-
Once you get to rank 10 or 11 you are playing nothing but purple/red ranks. Soon at least you won't even know it , because they are removing the ability to see ranks.
As such some games you will just dominate and others you will get beat by survivors that are like 10 ranks above you.
-
I dont believe you can 4k in a few minutes at rank 15 and not pip. That is probably irredescent in gatekeeper and chaser emblem right?
-
What is the point here? Are you just putting down survivors. Are you the one killer on here claiming the game is killer sided? I don't get the rant
