What the hell are you survivor mains talking about? It gives you a free health state for doing what you are already doing. Why should you get another chance for that? The perk is beyond broken and needs to change. Yeah sometimes it will do nothing, but many times it screws a killer out of a deserved kill. 2nd chance perks serve no purpose in this game and need to be deleted.
What is your opinion on noed?
-
Tunneling sucks, but sometimes it is a necessary evil.
However tunneling someone from the start will often lose you the game , especially with a decent looper. I know what my teammates are doing when you tunnel me all game. That's right, gennys.
So why I understand the use of this tactic at certain points in a game, i would not recommend it at the start. It is best to split pressure as much as possible and then later it may be necessary to get one survivor out to swing momentum back to the killer.
For me, you tunnel me for 5 gennys and 3 get out, that is a win

Yeah staring at a person, is petty much what i think about when i hear the words camping or tunneling. Which normally leads to to one of two outcomes. Everyone doing gens and getting alive with at least three survivors if not the whole team. That or everyone dying, trying to save the one person. Now if you were hooking a survivor and notice one of their friends nearby. than performing a classic loop around would be different. Since you are trying to catch them off, using the knowledge that someone is nearby. Since if you are just staring at someone until they die. It sounds like you are not going to get much out of it, unless the whole team really wants to save that one person. Heck, stabbing and chasing other survivors would give you more blood points at least, than just staring at someone until they die. That and if they are running bbq perk, well hooking that person might of just gave you information as to where the other survivors are.
So true. Kills me when people use these strategies running bbq.

Is adrenaline is fine then noed is fine but serve the same purpose exept you can counter play one i let you guess which one it is
Yeah and one rewards completion of objectives and the other failure to complete objectives.

I never understood the Adrenaline hate either. It's a 1 time use perk, that doesn't even guarantee an escape.
I don't use it, it's a waste of a perk slot.
I love adrenaline. But with that said a 4 man adrenaline can turn a probable 2 to 3k into a 4 man escape.

Thats the thing, I’m 99.9% sure it won’t be me because I’m sure that guy was just a sore loser but someone has to be first and that will be horrendous.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1176322#Comment_1176322
Its different though, someone can’t give you cancer. Someone can burn your house down.
For a closer example though, a guy ran through Walmart claiming he was giving Corona to everyone and he was arrested for it even though he didn’t have it. People need to learn their are consequences
I just like a bit of levity in life my friend.
And sure he may of got arrested, but not charged with anything major and probably will just be a small fine.
Point being it is not that big of a crime to the authorities. Of course to each individual, perception is reality.
-
I get that. You prefer a little more mechanics to your killer I take it?
What tactics, if any, can a killer use that may bother you?
-
It's just a game. I wouldn't take it too seriously.
Guy once told me to die of cancer. I didn't schedule a doctor's appointment.

Well said. Why no spirit or freddy?

It does. "Burning this Offering grants you protection against the loss of your Item and its Add-ons in the event you die."
Having said that, I'm not sure if it still prevents you from losing your add-ons since the recent update.
It does prevent the lose of addons upon death. But if you escape you still lose add ons
-
Play how you want but don't expect an increase in skill level.
You are actually hindering your own growth with these tactics. Against our swf you might get one kill as we all bang out gens and totems.
Cant imagine just standing in front of a hooked survivor is all that much fun, but you do you.
The rest of us will actually be playing and attempting to get better.

The fact that people still think old Freddy was the worst killer. Oh my god imagine how much pressure he would have today in this gen rush meta. Its hard not blaming these "7 sEConD fEDoRa mAN BaD" people for ruining such a good killer. Right now if old Freddy was in he'd easily be at least a top 5 killer.
I'd say new freddyvis too four, no?

Guess this didn't go the way you had hoped.

There's no penalty to bloodpoints for camping a hooked survivor. They also may be doing it as they're new or just being a jerk. Face camping is sadly a strategy that is not bannable unless you find it's the same guy doing it to you in multiple matches. I'd say just don't get caught or play killer for shorter queues.
There is a penalty for proximity to a hooked survivor

Do you play the top four killers or do you also play lower tier killers?
And if so do you have the same kill ratio with them?
What is the best thing a survivor can do to beat you? I. E. What skill should I prioritize?

My response is "I don't farm, sorry".
I want to play the game, not kill 15 minutes so that you can get some meaningless challenges done.
The closest I'll get is if survivors disconnect and I'm the killer, in which case I'll just message them to do their gens and leave so we can go on our merry way (and unlike your killer, I'll honor that). But I'd never go into a game with the sole purpose of making strangers not play so I can get some silly challenge done.
That is me 99.9% of the time. Farming bores me, I just felt something in that moment for his plight.
But, no thanks, will be my response from now on.

I try not to let the very few bad eggs ruin my in game philosophy. I still like to make sure that killers wring as many points out of a farming situation other than just the hooking.
I get where you are coming from however. Technically there is nothing against the rules in it, but that doesn't make it feel all that great, and i totally understand not wanting to do it again.
I have my messages turned off to anyone but friends, due to peoples inability to play nice, so farming situations for me usually happen by accident, the killer makes it obvious or three team mates dc'd and I feel bad for the killer.
I've only ever had what you described, once in the entire 2ish years I have been playing, so maybe stick to the obvious farming situations rather than trusting a message. People can be d***s, but don't let that stop you from having the occasional fun. Farming games can be real funny sometimes, and decent behaviour in general is always great.
Thanks, that is a good point!

Until now, every Killer I met who wanted to farm, was actually farming. Also Killers who wanted to do their Archive Missions were absolutely fair. Like, if a Trapper needed some trapped Survivors for their Archive Challenge (or a Daily, or just for points), I step in those Traps at the Exit Gate, no problem.
I dont like if people want to get help with their Archive Missions right at the start (like Survivors who change their name to "Pallet Stuns for Archives" or something like that), but when the game is basically over, I have no problems with helping.
That being said, only until someone is not nice and takes advantage of that. Then I will not care. So I share your point, if someone asks for help but is a dick afterwards, totally understandable to not help again. Sadly this will also affect the nice players, but yeah...
I know, it sucks for those in the future. Guess I just needed to rant. I wanted know if this happens to others and what killers thought of these tactics.
Or survivors who may have done similar things to a killer.
-
Extreme analogies aside, it is a tough problem.
I used to just grind through it. You know make each killer "earn" their blood points. But it is just frustrating to me to have crap perks.
So I do the farm them on 1 killer I am good with and put them on another method. I know that is not what you want to do, but it may save you some frustration.

Yes no skill scrubs who have to camp make the game unbearable, but what is the better outcome...escape even if you depip or reward the no skill fly larvae a 4k? I am sure most campers don't care about losing BP or rank, but at least if three of you get out you can taunt him mercilessly for being...well trash. I'd not want to let some camping killer think he won and was actually good just so I could get some extra BP. If a killer camps...punish him.
We got to get over this taunting crap. Just send the gg and move on. I am not a fan of these tactics but you can get 3 people out. 3 escape is a win.
I understand the frustration but how does taunting help? And in many cases you are giving them exactly what they want, your salt.
Let people play how they want and move on. They are only limiting their own growth.

You are, or maybe Im not clear, Us vs Them meaning Survivors vs Killers or vice versa.
This is about how survivors view this handholding the game does these days for survivors, aka the game not being survivor sided but baby survivor sided.
Which through examples in my comments in this thread so far hopefully made clear what I mean and why it annoys me.
Guess I don't mind it because it always just seemed to be part of the game.
Plus there are new players joining and this info is helpful for them I guess. No big deal to me.

Agree doing gen and saving waiting until the last minutr to save the survivor who get camp is a smart move thats why when i camp i use bubba with insidious, noed, blood warden and bitter murmur but that my game plan from start to finish so if you happen to leave the guy on hook and escape i lost and your team win
Exactly. Can't do much against face camping bubba!

@ZoneDymo said:
Sadly I feel I need to start by saying that pls, dont make this some Us vs Them discussion or bring in all kinds of unrelated things. Im merely asking what people think off or how they feel about, all the info the game just...gives them these days:
You touch a gen, you immediatly get an icon telling you Huntress Lullaby is in effect (even when not a single soul has been hooked yet)
Mindbreaker? the game just tells you and tells you when the effect is over
Dead Man's Switch? the game just tells you
NoeD, the game tells you, you dont need to pay attention if someone goes down in one hit, it just tells you and loudly so.
Devour Hope? again it just tells you.
A bit more specific, Myers still in T3? an icon on the side of the screen will tell you, no need to look at myers, the way he walks which was specifically made to convey this information, all you need to do is pay attention of the side of the screen for that icon, you wont get caught off guard if you miss the map wide music sting because again, just look for that icon.
Probably a lot more things im currently forgetting but yeah, basically as I see it, the game isnt survivor sided in that way, its baby survivor sided, it does not reward you for playing the game a while, there is no knowledge and skill for a player to build towards because the game just tells you.
It also removes a lot of surprise which imo is sad because that could lead of fun tense situations but maybe that is just me.
So yeah, let me know, how do you feel about it.
You say you don't want a us vs them. But then call it baby survivor sided? Seems like you already created that atmosphere in your post.
Am I reading it wrong?

I am kind of kidding here though because I know the rare case of both Iridescent Head and Ebony Mori being used but it sounds scary. This would be a build for a easy 4k kill.

At higher ranks, and as someone who doesn't cater to a meta and play some of the "more powerful" killers, no. I haven't versed that 4-man. The highest rank I have been on killer is 8, and that was mainly playing Pig, with some old Doctor and a fair bit of Spirit thrown into the mix. Aaaaand that was also before the Freddy rework.
I have a lot to balance within my life, and this game is more of a casual thing for me. I stopped doing ranked modes in other games because of the rampant toxicity within them. Last thing I need after a stressful day working in liquor retail is for some smarmy pre-teen to tell me to suck it up after he face-camped me because he "payed money for the game". I just want to do my Archives, and have some casual fun.
And I go out of my way to make sure that I go after the person who unhooks, never the unhooked. Somehow I find it more fun to spread the damage. Then again, Reverse Bear Traps are also a good indicator as to who I should be leaving alone.
I can respect that play style myself, because I no longer care about rank.
But those that do still have every right to play how they want. I used to rage about these tactics as well. However I now just accept it as part of the game, send em a gg, and move on.
Is it frustrating at times, sure. But it is a game, and your right some times your opponent is a 12 year old .
And you haven't played killer since freddy rework? It is a different game with the no heal meta. Games are gone so fast. I honestly don't understand how killers can play for hours at a time.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/139413/why-do-people-camp-or-tunnel-in-dbd
Because they want to kill you and they choose this strat and they are not responsable for the wait time and your enjoyment of the game. If you did not do anything then that favor the killer he got 1 survivor out only 3 to go and he just make the game turn in his favor depend on how many gen are left. You may not like the camping or tunneling strat but they are legit and you have perk to counter those strat
Yeah but if you does against our swf you will lose 4 gennys. And we will do a coordinated body block bt save that will give the hooked person at least one chance to get away and attempt to loop until that adrenaline kicks in.
That is probably the key. So many times before survivors save poorly and give this type of killer a 4k. Punish it first doing gennys. Then last second do a smart save.
-

Yes, yes, yes, no because I don't tunnel, no because I don't play Clown.
I'll never reach red on killer, because of time constraints, especially with COVID-19 and shutdowns affecting work, meaning I'm working WAY more than usual, I don't have every perk on every killer, and I have enough stress in my life.
It is not just tunneling that will get you dsed.
I would never run it before but started to with the rise of tunneling tactics.
I got saved the other day. I run clear across the map. Work and get pretty far into a genny. In this time killer hooks someone else. Hits someone else and chases him across the map where bad luck has us run into each other. He hits me , I ds him with like 2 seconds left on the timer.
Great for me sure, but kinda bs for the killer. I wouldn't call that tunneling, I mean I almost completed a genny.
Also I take it by saying you don't need the stress in your life. That you are acknowledging killer is more stressful side to play. And you haven't even versed that 4 man rank 1 swfs with 4 flashlights yet.
-
Have you played killer at all? Have you been body blocked while attempting to hook? Have you been flashlighted at every pallet?
Have you been Dsed, followed by a head on stun? Have you hit someone only to see them sprint to the next infinite while playing a level 19 clown to do a daily?
This is one game yesterday. No hyperbole, 1 game.
Sure like every one else I am not a fan of these tactics when used against my survivor. But if you haven't faced what a game vs really good survivors is like, then you can't understand why these tactics are sometimes necessary.
Most killers would rather play less sweaty, but if you do survivors good survivors will just destroy you.
My advice, take a killer to red ranks and gain some empathy for the other side.
-
I love to have you on my team if you can really keep the killer busy long enough for me to get those gennys!
But if I gotta keep saving you, best get that butt on a genny and help me escape.

No. Mori spamming is just ignorant behavior. Why would someone even do this.
Killer can walk away from teabaggers and clickers. Survivor is stuck there.

Be careful. There have been a few of these post already. Some one is going get on and tell you how people are dying and you are not taking it seriously...blah blah.

Noed has counterplay. Adrenaline nearly hasn't any.
The only counterplay i know against Adrenaline is dropping the Survivor if down'd.
Yeah but noed rewards failure to do objectives and adrenaline rewards completion of objectives.
Dont play the argument that it punishes you for not doing bones. Remember it wasn't a hex perk to begin with so that was not its intention.
-
Do you use strider because that can be misleading as far as distance is concerned.
Also sounds on her are bugged right now, or maybe forever so it seems.
I'd suggest using her power in short burst if you are in chase. Kinda to catch up and get a hit. Don't use it until it is gone especially if you struggle tracking .
That will allow your power to charge up faster and you won't lose sight of the survivors for that long , preventing them from doubling back on you.
-
I always make sure to do the ones by the exit gates so killer cant camp the doors noed and a hook at same time.
Then do the harder to find ones that I come across. I may leave a few easy to get to ones alone.
For instance if you do 4 totems and noed pops you have to find that impossible totem that no one saw all game.
If you leave say 2 easy one. And that impossiple one. Well now you have 66% chance on knowing exactly where noed is.
-
@Th3Nightmare said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1171783#Comment_1171783
Noed its fine, cleansed 5 totems and done. Playing against 4 adrenalines has no counter, the only counter would be that the players who play adrenaline have a risk, right now there is no risk. Despite exhaustion, adrenaline kicks in and gives you both effects regardless of whether you are exhausted.
You cant always get 5 totems by yourself. I mean there is a killer trying to catch and hook you during this time as well.
Plus unless your a 4 man swf you can only control what you see. Run a killer for 5 gennys and he gets to hook and camp you and some random totem until you die on first hook. Yeah that sounds balanced.
More like both are a bit op, I think that is the fairest way to see these perks.
-
@TAG said:

I do. I think both need to be altered to avoid giving such a big momentum swing once the gens are done.
That is fair then. They can both be op and change the game momentum.
I appreciate you seeing both sides as well.
-
@Th3Nightmare said:
Can you make the perk really balanced?
It is so simple that, if at the end of the game if you are exhausted, it does not give you the speed increase, but the heal does, easy?
Its so simple.
And you feel the same about noed and being exposed?
-
They had to after ruin nerf. They were pretty op after that
-
Pop rocks! See what I did there.
No pop is my go to slow down perk.
@Demogordon_Ramsay so you are saying you'd be ok with gens being 20 seconds longer to complete. Lot of killers would support that I believe.

There's some truth to that but for someone who has thousands of hours in the game and has achieved many wins and loses vs experienced survivors there really is no room for improvement in the game after that. This game has a skill cap and once you reach it as killer there's notging more you can do when the objective and maps are poorly designed you lose to average survivors who just sit on gens.
That is a fair point!
-
Playing insidious seems to indicate a tendency to camp.
With that said play how you want. I got facecamped last night by a billy shaking his head at me for 2 minutes until I die. Cost him 4 gennys.
I just took my 3 thousand pts, sent him a gg and moved on. We really gotta stop getting mad at another's play style. It's just a game.

im putting that here it's *chief's kiss* (but i'll censor names, im not an idiot), just to show how stupidly broken you can decide to be if you want to and whenever you want
The same can be said about sweaty survivors that go against random killers that just want to have fun and they all have those 4 perks and items, but when you're the random survivors that go against that type of build, it's even more annoying in my opinion (and i play both as solo queue survivor and fun killer)
What is chiefs kiss?
