I can confirm that the results are a 0% pick rate for sub 115 move rate killers and that Doctor pick rate has increased!
Oh no, I'm playing my Corvette, aka spirit, all weekend!!!

I think it will help me leave chases quicker when there are 4 survivors and go apply more pressure on gens in early game but what I am worried/curious about is once I eliminate my first I ussually commit more to a chase at that point. How long will it take to get survivors down later in games with certain killers? I prestige 3 my bubba last weekend and had my daughter pick my next killer to do and she picked spirit .... I know right but I suck with her at least for now. I use her power scratch marks are delayed by a sec or two so there useless, I don't use a headset, I did just get max stridor but have not tried but point is if I don't get lucky and lland right on top of them she is incredibly slow in a chase and will take forever to catch someone. I have to learn her power better this weekend for sure.
I know, she does take some time to master.
But damn is she worth it, and you won't have to worry about that bloodlust bs either

For people like me that are terrible at looping, maybe I have a chance to escape more chases, I wouldn't bet on it though.

I guess the question is, what is the majority?
Great loopers or not so great loopers.

Thanks for yet another killer vs survivor toxicity thread.
With once again, A very small sample, one game in fact.
Toxic people are Toxic. What we don't need are more threads dividing us as a community and spotlighting one incident to generalize one particular side.
Report them if it's over the top, then move on to the next game which will probably be four randoms you can 4k, who will still say, gg wp.

I'm fine with that, but you shouldn't get a safe hook rescue if someone gets hit and BT activates.
It promotes bad gameplay. You want to freely run out the door with a BT save , fine.
But you shouldn't get credit for it.
-
Bloodlust was the compensation for the old maps and setups.
No longer needed.
-
I'll be playing, I rarely if ever get bloodlust 1 let alone 2 or 3.
If your chasing for 45 seconds, or dare I say even more, you're doing it wrong.

Cant wait to completely destroy all 110% and even 115% killers at certain loops, i know you want to help less experienced survivors but god damn youre making this so easy for survivors like me that know how to loop and timings/distances killers must be to vault pallets safely. All youre doing is allowing bad survivors to maybe do better which really dont belong in red ranks anyway while hurting every un-experienced killer. YOU NEED TO REMEMBER NEW KILLERS EXIST! seriously no wonder so many people avoid that role and get annoyed at playing it. I guess undying will be removed next? people dont like totems...

Your calling me out for using my personal perspective(Which its not) then base your entire argument around your own perspective?
"Those in glass houses should not throw stones"
Also from all realistically gather-able evidence(we don't have exact numbers) survivors DC vastly more on average then killers proportionally do.
No, I didn't call you out for it.
I asked if that was your experience.
As for me, I don't see it that often.
But , I do agree survivors DC more than killers.

Review the numbers for how inflated the KR rates become if survivors and killers DC at the same rate and not counting the DC as a kille:
12 out of 16 survivors or 75% get doomed to die from one survivor DCing on average
While only 4 survivors escape if the killer DCs
So in a world where survivors and killers DC the same rate its 12/20 survivors die from the DC alone is 3/5 or 60% KR base line.
Also lets not kid ourselves: Survivors DC more then killers do and the KR could be counting the DC survivor as a kill which would make 70%(No killer is even near 80%) pretty normal along with the average killer hovering around 65-68%(2k average favoring killer)
First off, is that your experience, because a survivor DCing doesn't end the game for us. Often we still get a few out, even if it's one through the hatch.
Also I played killer for a few hours today, and had 0 dcs. 0. All day. So, your math may be right for 1 game. However if that equates to a total of 1 out of a 100, well it's miniscule.
And I still averaged over 3ks a game. Admittedly I have played the game for awhile, so it is my norm.
But when I play rando red rank survivor, the killers 4k us on the regular. So are the numbers perfect? No.
But do they indicate that killers win more than lose? Yes.
-
Dude, if you want respect as a killer you have to take it.
You are the killer, kill them fools. U can play "fairer" if possible, but don't throw the match ignoring viable targets.
As far as perks go, and this goes for both sides, play whatever the ######### you want!
You're going meet smurfs, but as a rank 16, you should have the upper hand, swf or not.

Those KR stats are hyper inflated:
"Given those statistics include first hook suicides and DC games its hard to take those stats seriously.
A survivor DCing in a game pretty much dooms their 3 teammates to death so even without the DC itself counting as a kill it still gives a 75% KR.
Also before you say about "what if the killer DCS" if the killer players DC at the same proportional rate aka 1/4th as much then its still heavily inflates the KR
4 survivor DCing across 4 games dooms 12 teammates.
1 killer DC only gives 4 survivors an escape.
DC games cause KR hyperinflation."
Quoting/copy pasting myself sense I am getting tired of type this out.
Sure, they are inflated, but some of them are at 70-80 percent kill rates.
Do you recognize, at least, the amount of dc and suicide that would need to be taking place to make something 70/80 percent.

I feel like rushing the hook is likely to give you more bloodpoints though, at least per amount of time spent. You die faster but you are getting a big chunk of bloodpoints in that short amount of time, instead of a similar amount spread out across a longer period of time. It can also be more fun, especially when the other three survivors are doing this, and you are sitting on generators without any interaction while everyone else is having fun.
In theory a meaningful rank system would alleviate this somewhat, as rushing the hook and going down a lot will likely decrease your chances of getting a pip as opposed to playing smart and working on generators or regrouping to heal.
Certainly if you are having fun and just getting bloodpoints.
But, it seemed to me, OP was annoyed at the killer for capitalizing on this and choosing to continue playing.
-
This kind of logic drives me crazy. This is poor survivor gameplay capitalized on by the killer.
At some point if ######### is going down hill fast, you all need to get away and regroup. Cross the map and heal up. Then split up , someone goes for the save, others do the gens.
If you all are going group up and keep kamikazing in for saves, well 4k ez , thanks for the double pip.

chases are annoying. if you take fun out of them, be my guest. but this mindset 'chases are the only fun thing and the only way to play the game' is getting old.

Stealth. I know people hate it, but against Deathslinger to main counterplay is stealth and breaking LoS, and maybe going in pairs. Just like the best-ish tactic against pig is 99ing gens and only popping them when no one has a RTB on. Or crouching against Hag's trap. Or forgetting your teammates exist against bubba
Doesn't change the fact that if he sees you, you go down.
And half the excitement of the match, the chase, is eliminated.

Where Have you BEEN, mate.
People don't care about the dc penalty against Deathslinger, because they can't loop him. They'll rather take the penalty than change their stale tactic for a single match.
To the OP: good luck with the daily, hope you find some survs that aren't entitled cowards
First I am not condoning DCing it's BS. You ready up, finish the game.
But what style tactic do you want changed? Survivor has basically 2 modes. Do gens and loop.
Do you prefer the gen rush style of play?
If DS sees you, you go down. So , what would you suggest?
-
I play both sides, and at high ranks.
I think this is the best way to understand the game.
I can understand the difference between a tactical tunnel with 2 gens left and a simple douchebag tunneler from the start.
Same with the cocky DS plays and the dude that is just trying to escape the basement after being tunneled right off the hook.
-
Smurfing is out of hand, but it goes both ways.
Do you know how many rank 17 killers my rank 20 daughter runs into with full tier 3 ruin, undying, tinkerer combos?
Needless to say, quite a bit. It's at the point on PS4 that the rank 17s are better than the rank 1s.
Smurfs need to go, bring back that MMR.
-
Do you have cross play on?

One of the things that piss me off the most in this game is the survivors that take the game hostage to ignore the main objective (generators) to hide out for the hatch. Literally the game I just had -
I was Legion and stomping this team (probably solo's). I actually let them finish 1 gen when the Meg suicided on hook, after I got 5 hooks without them even finishing 1 gen. I took out the Dwight. Then it was just Jeff and David left. They had 2 gens on the map nearly complete. I pop'd one, and then started to roam for where the Jeff and David were. I found David on the third gen over from the 2 nearly complete gens (I guess he just didn't know he was directly next to two nearly complete gens - solo's). However I havn't seen the Jeff in a hot minute, so instead of downing David. I used my power and ran for the center of the map. That's when I started to see that Jeff was in the basement, so I went down, downed Jeff, and hooked him. Then gave hatch to David for actually trying to do the objective.
I get a good laugh out of players that fail at hiding out for hatch, and it makes me feel good that with some characters I can at least punish survivors for trying to take the game hostage - at the same time rewarding players for actually playing the game right. They were all console players too, so I didn't get to tell the David thanks, but I'm sure he is at least content that he was at least able to get the Hatch.
Thank you for that, I always try to work on the objective. I hate when people go all stealthy with a gen or two left because the odds are against us. At least keep playing the game.
This happens to me a lot, I love when killers recognize whom is actually still playing the game. Although I don't blame them for hooking me once they get tired of looking for the one just hiding.

I practically only play solo, and in a set of 12+ games, I'm lucky to survive 2, whether gen and gate completion or killer mercy. If I play solo and climb ranks solo so everything I have I've earned. If you don't "survive 70, 80%" don't feel bad. The truth is you will face a ton of hardcore do-it-for-the-killer killers, especially in the evening and MOST solo survivors won't stick their necks out. But keep your chin up, there's some of us out there who will pull our weight with a "team mentality"!
Thanks, the solo survivor red ranks is kinda the last accomplishment I am trying for.
-
@DCash said:
It's hard to say a percentage honestly. Im getting close to 5k hours, equal killer/survivor time, all solo. I escape most of my games regardless of my teammates. But I die a lot too. I mean I can't help getting tunnelled off hook and my team doesn't have BT, or the moris I get in a lot of games. I also never run DS. I run adrenaline, borrowed time, any means necessary, and we're going to live forever. Any means is a recent addition but I'm finding it to be really helpful. Saving pallets from my teammates bad plays and I like the fact I can throw pallets myself with less fear as I can just save them. Also helps in chase, killers almost always break the pallet when I try to pick it up in their face, breaking the pallet removes bloodlust so I almost never get bloodlusted.
As a killer you play 1 against 4. Everyone knows this. Took me a while to realize solo survivor is also 1 against 4. You need to analyze your team as you play. And some times you need to know when to let people go. If your own play style doesn't mesh with the other players you're just going to have a bad time.
So are they all being stealthy? Don't rush to gens because you will get chased the most since the killer probably won't find them. Being loud while your team is in stealth mode just makes it easier for the killer to tunnel you. If you're the only one they can find it's kinda your fault for not playing along, at least a little bit. It is important to get on gens as quickly as you can, but I usually give it a second at start of match, find a vantage or line of sight, count to 10, watching your team, seeing what they do, then decide your course of action.
Are they all rushing to get unhooks and no one is ever on a gen? Someone needs to be on a gen at all times, better get on one because they certainly aren't. Or is it the opposite and no one goes for saves because they are all scared? You need to fill the roles your team is leaving empty.
Analyzing your team's play style as a solo is just as important as figuring out the killers perks and play style. A lot of times I commit to gens or make crazy plays based on faith in my team from watching how they have played. Or I knew that my team was throwing or playing poorly, so I rush gens, getting as many done as possible so I can exit out the hatch when they die. Which leads to my next main point.
It's also really important to understand the hatch mechanics as a solo player. Having faith in your team is one thing but knowing your team isn't going to make it is another. You need to be ready for when they all die. I'm not telling you to go camp the hatch and not work on gens. Don't be that person. But knowing when the hatch appears on the board, finding it ahead of time, has saved me so many times. Having that information can tell you if you should go for a door play or straight for the hatch.
So has the killer seen the hatch? Have you seen the hatch? If you know the answer to those questions escaping becomes a lot easier. Just remember 2 people alive, 2 gens left, hatch appears, and, 3 people alive, 1 gen left, hatch appears. If you go to the hatch for a standoff with the killer, face to face, and they do not hit you, RUN. They know how the hatch works and you won't make it through. The killer has priority to close the hatch in that situation. If they do try to down you on the hatch however, they are stunned for a second from the swing, losing their collision, and you can spam m1 and escape, provided it opened.
Sorry for how long this got or if you knew any of this already. I try to write for any new players that may read this.

Around 60-70% survival rate.
Perk set I usually use is Kindred, Small Game, Spine Chills, and then something else like Head On.
As to how, I don't know. I'm ok at looping. I play like my teammates are little kids and I sorta have to baby sit them. Brute force gens the killer is defending so we don't 3 gen ourselves
Clean up totems because nobody ever does totems. I very rarely, if ever, get hit by NOED.
If I notice someone who's on their last hook being chased, I'll run up and try to take the pressure off of them and get the killer to chase me instead(only if I'm not on the last hook myself". Sharing hook states is pretty vital. I try to keep a mental note of which hook state each survivor is on. You often get people talking about how their team is getting killed while they haven't got touched the entire game and then they get hooked at EGC and nobody saves them, what they don't realize is that the teammates have been keeping pressure off them and now that they're all on death hooks, nobody's gonna come save your ass. Maybe you should've taken a couple hooks during the match to keep the hook states balanced among everyone.
If the killer is camping, I just rush the gens. Wake Up, another perk I use a lot, is a really good perk for escaping when you're the last survivor.
Balancing stealth and actively running around the killer is vital I think.
Yes I would totally agree, and often why rando solos don't seem to escape as often. I have been injured finishing a genny with another survivor. Killer shows and they run leaving me to go down, like why not take a hit. We need more people as solos that do trade hooks for their team

Kindred has earned it's place in my build and usually helps me in terms of escaping. It gives so much information when someone's on the hook and I have to say it's saved my butt more than I could count. For my other 3 slots I run Balanced Landing, Iron Will and Inner Strength. Since I know where totems spawn most of the time and it's a free fast heal
Thanks, I do run a fast medkit with at least 2 heals in it. But yes kindred is a big part of my solo build

Idk...tunneling seems to be meta right now.

tbf, i have a rather stealthy approach, so i'm usually the one doing the objective.
the problem with solo survivor is, that you cant really rely on your team - and when you do, well, you die more often than not.
you always gotta play like you have been matched with teammates like that:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YTG8W6ZV6VV0/dbd-matchmaking-in-a-nutshell.png
i have no idea how in the world this happened btw.
as a solo player my lobby should NOT look like that lol (and i was wondering throughout the whole match ######### my team was doing - yeah i died on first hook)
Damn.. that lobby is BS.
See i as a rank 6 am always the lowest rank in the lobby. I play almost exclusively with red ranks.
That is some BS match making.

It's a little trickier these days too because a lot of loops have lengthened or shortened by just enough to make it unpredictable and unsafe, especially if you take it too wide or there's a small obstacle in the way. It's better to be safe if you're unsure. Just don't waste a lot and try to leave something for your mates if they need it. Sometimes I'd rather go down than waste a strong pallet.
I will definitely go down than waste a strong pallet, unfortunately maybe a little too quick, lol

I was in a similar situation: Climbed to red ranks with Swf, started playing solo almost religiously, and got stuck at rank 8 or 6 for a long time. Faced the reality that there are just some I couldn’t control and eventually, got used to it.
Bond and Iron Will (Mostly Bond) carried me through solo and into red ranks. It helps me recognize the situation I’m in and adjust quickly. Kindred, or any aura reading perk is good as well.
But, again, before all of that I had to accept that there are things simply out of my control. So that helped as well.
Thanks for the reply. Honestly I do play much more chill as solo than SWF.
I think because there is so much outside of my control.
But I know in the long run it will make me a better player.
-
I dislike facing some killers that seem to strong counter my clumsy looping ass.
However I can get better.
With the state of the game, and potential for SWFs, I don't think any killer needs a nerf.
