A Bully Squad isn't there to play the game, i.e. repair Generators and get out. They are there to harass the Killer, with the goal of getting him/her to disconnect. To give an example, they will often start making a whole lot of noise on purpose to attract the Killer to one location and then start coordinated blinding and head on attacks. I have some great videos of this stuff. I will probably post one or two, but I have to edit them to blur the names at the end since we can't "name and shame" regardless of how much the people involved deserve it.

Bully Squads are almost always made up of Red Rank and/or Purple (often Red Rank who sandbagged down) so they can pull some easy target from the newer Killers. They aren't actually looking for a real fight.

The funny part about these squads is how often they end in a 4k.

Sure, when they get a newer killer they have their fun, I guess.

But I also take great pleasure in facing these squads because they tend to completely ignore gens and play way altruistic. Then they realize you aren't going to fall for in it and they all end up in a pile

I am much more scared of the organized gen jockeys with decent looping skills that keep sprinting away from objectives to give each other time on gennys.

Solo que is horrid right now. My last 2 games were with a duo de-pip squad... left myself and my team mate with 5 gens. I am regretting buying the rift at this point. Putting in the time is becoming... well... unenjoyable.

So funny. My lady and I just had 2 guys hooked in basement, 5 gens left. They instantly kill themselves because its Freddy i guess.

We got 3 gens done trading hooks and agro. But #########!

Shout out to Freddy for playing hard but fair!

the teams I've been on in Solo are doing the same thing. They're more worried about getting people off hooks then doing gens, sometimes they'll do the unhook right in front of the killer and it feels like I'm the only one actually trying to play the game.

Sometimes there will be one or two survivors that will work on stuff but it's crazy.

    Totally confirm.

It is like the strategy of defeating the killer and escaping is being traded for pips and some sort of kamikaze game style.

Rift challenges are probably the culprit. A lot of the single trial survivor ones force you to play a certain way, sometimes straight up throwing the game for your whole team just to get them.

That is a true statement. No doubt!

I agree, luckily I'm a solo where my team can rely on.

Unfortunately I get match with a lot who can't, so you will get better relying on yourself.

And tbh i don't think solo sucks if you can hold your own, i never play to escape and will sacrifice myself for a teammate if he/she can get out.

I challenge myself often to get to rank 1 without perks, with a no mither build without iron will.

It also depands if I bring a med kit on what build I have.

But it's always a gray medkit, other items I don't even use

That Is fair. I definitely think being able to loop well is the difference. Not only for pipping, but winning as well. Often 1 really good looper is the difference between 4ks and 3 man escapes.

Unfortunately that is my weakness. So I can't carry a team. I am a really good teammate, but if you are counting on me to pull agro consistently, we probably lose.

Thanks for teammates like you tho. You are appreciated when I find you all in the fog

  • I can agree that something is happening in solo que.

My last couple days my teammates have been completely gen phobic hook rushing fools.

And can we address the fact that we are on a team. Solo does not me you play for yourself. We are still a team. You may day, but die trying to help the team.

Damn this solo que pergotory. Few more pips and ill reach my goal and can go back to swfing.

    Just. A. Few. More.

Heh; this thread is funny. So many threads and so much salt. I get accused of tunneling and camping even when I give every Survivor three hooks and never take the same person in a row. Let's just say I have little faith in the "perception" Survivors have (I also play Survivor). It always feels like you are being camped or tunneled unfairly. It doesn't mean you are in fact.

For my own part, I just take the next person who pops in front of me. It isn't by design or intent. It isn't personal.

    This exactly!

I am not going out of my way to tunnel someone. But if I see you I am downing you.

I think it is best to play some high rank competitive killer and people will see how, why and when tunneling really happens.

  • @Dennis_van_eijk said:

Play for yourself and do what you can for yourself.

Do gens, unhook (at least 2 I believe), heal teammates and get into a chase.

This is exactly why solo sucks.

No concept of team, it's all me me me. Gotta get my pip, ######### my teammates.

Its a shame, and no wonder killers prefer vs. This, instead of swf that is actually trying to win the game.

  • I believe you should. But to keep it fair, if a killer is feeling similar in one of their games, should they have the option to open the exit gates whenever they want?

    Therefore starting the EGC.

I am one of the highly regarded killers on these forums 🤣

I guess we haven't had a discussion yet.

I respect what you are saying, but surely you must also concede that BL was put in the game at a time where balance was nowheres near as balanced as it is today.

  • @TheButcher said:

Yeah. I'm just going to continue with agreeing with myself, and the pro's and the dev's. Before I listen to your lies, even you being good at the game when you just say bad information.

Dude there is like 5 killers that could use it.

Obviously Spirit, Freddy, Nurse, Billy, Huntress, Clown, Blight, DS, Hag, Trapper etc.. can shut down loops with their powers.

You seem a bit salty, so I will end this discussion as well. But perhaps listen to a lot of the highly regarded killers that are on these forums, many of whom have already stated they do not need bloodlust.

  • @TheButcher said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1772045#Comment_1772045

See this is what I mean. That just blame the killer mentality. It's what's needed to catch a survivor in a long/long loop or map with close loops. If you're not a killer who's power makes you faster, or slow the survivor - than you lose every match with long/long and close loops. Period. Even during the "trial" I never died as survivor. During the trial I used all of my badham, autohaven, and haddonfield map offerings. It's literally elementary and easy if you just know the basic's of the game. Count it in your head. 15 seconds. They have BL1 and can catch you in the long/long loop. Drop the pallet for the stun (hopefully), and move to the next loop. Competent Killer's know that too. The "pro" players that BHVR themselves tell you to follow tell you the same damn thing. Actual experienced Killers are telling you the same damn thing. Stop lying. (Nobody cares about level 2 or 3 though, you only need 1 to catch a good survivor that stays on a long/long too long, or between close loops).

It's literally mind boggling the amount of stupidity i've seen in these forums this past weekend of people going "Only bad killers need Bloodlust". No wonder everyone says solo survivor is awful, look at all the dummies that can't figure out how to loop right or basic map layout.

Sorry you feel that way, but I am a long time killer main, and go by the mantra that if you can't get a hit, pallet, in 15 seconds, then split pressure some where else. I will catch you later.

But don't sweat it, you will get better and realize you don't need BL as much as you think.

  • @finitethrills said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1762757#Comment_1762757

The problem is that if you make it difficult to catch bad looper, you have, by extension, made it near impossible to catch good ones.

You cant balance a pvp game based on lowest common denominators, it has to be done from the top down. You balance for the potential something has, not for its common use.

Pvp players are expected to improve their skills, not degrade, so balancing for how people play when they're still getting there is folly.

Same can be said about BL tho. Experienced killers rarely rely on on BL let alone 2 or 3. It was balanced to older maps and loops. As such you know longer need it and relying on it balances toward killers that are not as experienced.

So by your logic, they should improve, and not degrade as well.

I hope not as having to use exhaustion perks early against him to avoid that add-on is a good thing for him to have.

Having a killer punish greedy exhaustion plays is ok to have on a few killers.

I have no facts, all speculation.

But I am guessing that since they originally countered perks that automatically rechargeed even while sprinting, and they redid maps, and tested no bloodlust, that exhaustion addons are next.

  • I think clown 🤡 is losing that exhaustion addon!

  • I like my discordance, haunted ground, devour, pop Spirit myself.

I mean part of playing chill is understanding that in the end it does not matter if you win or lose. A month from now you're probably not going to remember that match where you effortlessly stomped the survivors but you might remember a match where you didn't do so hot but had a lot of fun. Toxic people will always be an issue, no matter the game. If you were feeling particularly calm you could try and ask them how they were doing. It's possible that they simply had a bad day and want to vent by pissing others off in a game. Wouldn't work if they're crossplay and it probably wouldn't do anything but showing compassion instead of anger is always the best move I think. Playing chill can help create a more care-free attitude to the game, yeah you'll win less but it's important to remember that winning isn't everything.

Fair enough, but playing chill as a killer really equates to letting survivors go. When I play killer, I want to kill. I want to 4k every game. If I decide to let some one go, it is usually because of something that happened during the game that really impressed me or I feel that they had some bad luck. Playing chill often leads to depips as well for killers.

So if you don't care about kills or pips, then by all mean play as "nice" as you want. But I don't see the point in playing killer that way. I don't want to farm, I want to play the game I have readied up to play.

  • This game is not very noob friendly, it takes a lot of time to get good.

My advice, start with survivor. It is easier and will allow you to learn the maps, loops and how survivors think. When you put in like 200 hours of survivor, then switch back an try killer. It allows you to understand the mechanics of the game.

I also started out mainly playing killer, and it was very tough early on. The only way to get better is to play. And the more you can see it from both sides the better you will be at versing them.

  • As a killer I play as fair as possible without cucking myself. However I will take advantage of every opportunity to put myself in a position to win.

I tend not to be near hooks, as I play a very aggressive style, constantly hooking and attacking. But I will no longer reward an unsafe unhook, if you unhook in front of me, you better have BT. If not, well your buddy better have DS or back on the hook.

I won't use mori or noed, but that is my preference. Noed from old school killer days, when Killer's would call you bad for using it, stuck with me.

Mori because I have played so long now, I enjoy the challenge and don't need anymore advantages. If games go tough, I get out my spirit and slaughter for awhile.

As a survivor I do everything I can to win, or help my team win. As a long time killer main, I strategize every second I play survivor and know exactly how to put the most pressure on the killer. Survivors forget that pressuring the killer is just as important as the reverse. I will always do gens, totems, saves, heals etc, as the game dictates. I am still trying to loop and I lose more chases than I win, but if I am going down, I will lead you as far away from the objectives as possible.

I will not use keys or flashlights, because I never have and probably never will.

    And win or lose, GGs.

  • Awesome job dude!

    Welcome to the forums!

Nothing wrong with a good debate, just remember keep it respectful even in a disagreement.

Oh I thought it was the other way around. Toxic killers are created by toxic survivors.

It could be just a chicken and a egg thing though.

    We'll never get the answer

    This is true

  • Word of advice, if killers is AFK, always, always find and do the totems.

    You have the time.

We do all the gens to 99 and find all the totems. Then pop em and get some loot.

  • My problem with this is too often the killer is an #########, proceeds to slug and hook us all.

Happened to me at least 3 times.

No, I'll take the challenges and attempt to complete them myself.

Find someone else to farm with.

Actually killer are very smug about winning tbh when I was playing camping was a big problem and they get smug about it don't generalize. If u wanna play chill play chill if you are going against toxic survivors be toxic back to them it's that simple.

    When you were playing?

    Are you not still playing?

What was so smug, btw also a generalization.

If you play chill as killer, and lose, you will be tbagged, not a generalization but a highly probable occurrence.

  • @gatsby said:

Play for yourself, screw your teammates. It shouldn’t matter too much if you escape or not. Just that you had good chases and felt productive.

Dead By Daylight is only a team based game if you’re in a SWF. Otherwise feel free to think of it as a solo player game where all your teammates are NPC bots

Exactly why many killers prefer to vs. Solos.

I myself think it is SWF that makes this game competitive. 4 solos is almost always 4ks.

  • You know why?

Because if you don't sweat, and you play for fun. You just get tbagged at the gates. Called a baby killer, gg ez...etc.

Toxic survivors often created try hard killers.

    So why play chill?

  • Yeah this smurfing is Bull #########!

It is rampant, and I'll say it again, on both sides.

Grow some balls and play competitors of equal skill.

    Please bring back MMR.

I'm convinced all those BS screen shots during the MMR were of smurfs getting put where they belonged, then posting and saying, " Oh look how bad match making is, boo hoo".

  • But wait, that old data is "hyper inflated ", /s

  • @Chinanumawaaan said:

    Stop being bad.

oh c'mon dude,, let's not pretend tunneling isn't meta right now..

I'm not saying you cant do it,, but you dismiss OPs post as if this is not the case.

Have an opinion, contribute to the discussion, don't just insult OP and bury your head in the sand about tunneling.

Perhaps discuss why it is meta, or needed, or a good strategy.

  • The red stain is a significant part of the mind games for both sides.

  • First , perks are not scummy, they are just perks.

Secondly, 99 the doors man, or get the fk out.

Lastly, if it is blocked, run and sneak far away and play stealthy for a minute.

  • @BabyBubz said:

Everyone talks about it, but i've never seen anybody mentioning that key can only be used when killer closed hatch or you finished 5 actions and didn't die before that. Ofc other survivors can pick up the key if you have no addons for saving it. Then you need to find the hatch which sometimes is impossible to do and ONLY after that you can escape. Ik it goes easier for ppl playing swf but not for me who plays only duo/solo. And if you take a key, it almost everytime will be a mori from the killer. And probably you'll be tunneled after that.

As for the mori...Well, you need to hook survivor once (if its ebony or green one) and then you can tunnel and kill them. Or just kill them a little bit later. No other conditions. All you need is just to hook which is not a big deal if you know how you play.

I don't have super accurate statistic from my games but i can honestly say that i died from mori faaaar more times than escaped with a key. As well as tunneled right after i got unhooked even if it was a green key.

    No, I totally agree

  • @NoelleMina said:

This is an interesting take on things.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind it. I’m all for Keys and Moris to be reworked of course, but if they just made it so that everyone can safety pip, then I wouldn’t mind.

I’m also one of those people who cares about getting at least a safety pip with matches sooo.. yeah.

That is me too. I like to try to pip up.

For me being a good productive teammate is a high priority, but I enjoy a good pip as well.

Like you said at least a Safety

  • @Raz_ said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1765334#Comment_1765334

Yeah, I mean, I had such a situation just today:

Played Pig on Wreckers Yard, were on 9 Hooks, 2 Survivors dead, 1 Gen to go. Aaand one of them got a Key in a Chest (Plunderers) and both escaped. I would have gotten at least a 3K (One of them was on Death Hook, the other person was just hooked once). I got a Blackpip in the end, but I still felt robbed. (The game was not miserable at all and I was not mad at the Survivors, they played well and in a way that both sides have fun)

If I would have depipped and got a safety pip, because they used a Key, I would still feel robbed, despite getting a "participation prize".

And as Survivor, its the same, if I got to play for 2 minutes after getting morid by that Iri Head Huntress, I would not think that the game was any better when I got a Blackpip instead of the Depip.

So for me, nothing would really change.

Certainly can understand that. For me I guess going into a game, knowing no matter what I was getting a Safety. I could play a little loose and for fun

I didn't really consider plunderers tho

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Killers should already get a Safety Pip when a Key is used. If you dont get a Safety Pip when they can use a Key, you most likely did not play good enough anyway so that the Key did not make any difference. Games with Keys are usually also not quick, at least not because of the Key, since the majority of Gens need to be repaired in order to escape (OR some Survivors are already dead, which should already be enough for a Safety Pip).

Survivors can depip with a Mori far more often, depending when they get morid. If they are the first person hooked and the Killer tunnels them down, they will depip. If they are hooked at a later stage, they might safety pip.

But I dont think that a guaranteed safety pip is the solution. Rather the Rework of both Moris and Keys.

I can certainly agree that the tendency is for survivors to lose pips more than killers in this scenario. I think it is just nice to apply these conditions to both sides.

Reworking Mori and keys are coming, but my guess is Mori changes are going to be more substantial than keys, which perhaps it should be

  • As a weak looper, I haven't noticed a difference. I still have my occasional good runs, but still have plenty where I go down quickly.

I asked my streamer level friend to swf a bit and he said the same. He can run you for 5 gens with BL 3.

His whole build is designed to loop, object, spine chill, resilience, and DH.

As a killer, I rarely chase more than 15 seconds. And I have been playing spirit and double pipping quite a bit.

But I am not one to get into long chases with my Wraith either, I will wear the team down and eventually get you.

It seems great loopers are still doing fine, and us ######### loopers are still going down fast.

  • My spirit!

I mained hag for a long while, and I enjoy legion and wraith.

But I saved my shards and bought Spirit when she came out and loved her when everyone called her trash.

And now everyone wants to take her out.

But we remember what you all said about her, we remember, and will have our vengeance!

  • Both of my ques have been pretty fast.

    Almost instant when I solo.

  • First, perks are not toxic, throw that opinion right out.

I used to feel the same about not playing DS, but now it is my Depip Saver. I am not going judge you for being a tunneling killer, but you can eat my DS if that is your style.

Just like tunneling and camping aren't toxic, either is hitting em with the DS.

The problem with solo is it stops being a team game by many. It seems every one is more concerned about themselves and their pips then the team.

Hence why many killers prefer to vs. Solos
