Dont need to run it because in red ranks most people do, if I get tunneled that's crap but just move onto the next game as I find most killers dont.
I run it now as my DS = Depip Saver.
Gives me a little more chance to preserve that safety pip when the killer is determined to tunnel me out of the game.

I get your point but ether side cant do anything about maps
Yeah I hear you.
Its hard to balance with so many different skill levels at every rank.
-
I think what you are saying, is if you don't want to be tunneled/camped then why do you rush gens, sabo my hooks on my first hook, abuse broken loops?
-
Dude, I just started my solo life and it has been hell.
I played swf for awhile now, but knew I was boosted. So after a few resets I have played strictly solo. Wanted to see how I really stacked up
I went from rank 17 to 6. I was pretty surprised how ######### solo is.
It is definitely the hardest mode in the game. Harder than killer, definitely harder than any permutation of SWF.
I went from escaping 70% of the time to maybe 15%. Uggghhhh!
-
This is bait, right?
-
Its just not a challenge.
I enjoy playing at red ranks, some games you win, some you lose.
But it keeps you sharp.
Playing at lower ranks is detrimental to your improvement. And will condition you to a playstyle you won't have time for at high ranks.
-
Just do bones!
-
At this point idk why every survivor isn't running DS.
I have started to run it just to make sure there is an obsession in every match.
Without an obsession, the first guy caught is out of the game in 2 minutes.
-
Y would you waste both of your time because someone is playing the game?
-
Like every killer says.
Use whatever perks you want. If it is in the game and not a cheat, feel free to use it.
Throw out that killer rulebook that tells you what you can and can't play.

Personally I currently just use Moris when I have a mission to use them, I’d just as soon use a bloodpoint offering. Moris and swfs have no correlation in my games.
That is me as well. I don't use moris unless I have a daily.
I play my game. Win a bunch and lose some.

Over half the games have either a 2-, 3- or 4- person swf according to the dev stats last year (and there’s no reason to think those numbers have gone down). Only a small number are full 4-person swfs but 2- and 3- are quite common.
And personally I can usually tell when I’m facing a swf that is actually coordinating some or all of its members. They just play a bit differently than solo squads, tending to be more altruistic, running from gens earlier because of comm warnings, splitting up gens a bit more efficiently, and sometimes running Object of Obsession which is less common solo than in a swf. You also after the game see weird mixes of ranks a bit more often with swfs with red rank players teaming up with lower rank friends. Out of curiosity I’ll check profiles after a match when I think players were in a swf and almost always (I think) I’ll see a couple of them are friends in the case of PC players (or sometimes all private profiles in which case who knows?)
Of course solo players can play really well, you don’t have to be in a swf to be a good looper or know how to repair gens or have a sense of when to time a rescue. But the playstyle of good solo players is a bit different typically from good players on comms.
Yeah...but....by then you already played your Mori.
And in my experiences...these conversations are happening post game and killers still believe we were a swf.
Don't sleep on how cordinated 4 good randoms can become.
-
Yeah, it is very hard to 12 hook four good survivors.
And next to impossible if they're going be pounding gennys.
I play as fair as possible, but without cucking myself. And I play to the intensity of my competitors.
If they seem to be memeing ill chill a bit.
-
Was it Oni?
He has the glove addon that can be map wide wall hacks with the right setup.
Ofcourse scratched mirror Myers.
Or just good predictions and head phones.

Not because reasons, because one reason. SWF. Yeah, its kinda fair if both sides have overpowered things you can´t do anything about. Keys are fine in my opinion, even needed.
I understand that point.
But anymore killers think every lobby is a SWF.
Can't tell you how many times this week. I've been talking to killer post game and it's "you guys this" and "you guys that".
I'm like no no no...I'm solo.

As a survivor i rarely get use out of it, and as killer i get DSed pretty often, most times by random people working on a gen. It gets really annoying if it just works as anti-momentum.
Well I can understand that.
I'm not that kind of survivor. Heal first with fast ass med kit. Then gen time.. You gotta hit me twice if you find me again.
And by then DS is gone.
I only get you with DS in a true tunnel.
Straight off the hook.
-
No thanks..
I'll take the L and get em next game.

Well by that logic wouldn't it be unfair to the people who already bought the blighted skins for full price only for them to get a discount later?
I get that argument as well. I guess the difference is we all know items bought could suddenly become cheaper or put on sale.
I am not defending this, just pointing out what they have said.

I already have them all and am perfectly fine with changing them! I mean, it's only a matter of time before the next killer and/or survivor get released.. then the eye rolling begins again.
I think survivor adepts are fine as they are, since you can be carried by your teammates even if the unique perks aren't great. Killer adepts, however, definitely need changing. I think that killers should be able to use a fourth perk alongside the unique perks, and just get a 4k. None of their emblem nonsense anymore.
No, I certainly agree. I just don't believe the Devs are going to do it.
-
It sounds nice, but the Devs have stated they are not changing the Adepts.
They said it would be unfair to those that have already accomplished these.
-
You don't.
He tells you.
-
I personally go into every game expecting and attempting to get a 4k.
If my competitors seem to be a bit of potatoes, I may take it easy on them. Let them get some gennys and such. But then I will probably still try for the 4k.
I won't however slug for the 4k. I just think it sucks when it happens to me so I won't do it to others. If you get the hatch first so be it. A hatch escape during a 3k is still a win for the killer.
I will allow Tapps to get the hatch, because that is who I main and you don't get a bunch of them. Also 4% I let go if that happens during end game.
And , if you were just a supreme player, I may allow you to go. God looper, well I can appreciate the art and the skill.
But with that said, I am a sweaty ass killer and I am going to make you earn everything you get. I play as fair as I can, but I am going for the 4k.
-
Yeah the Freddy story is not a very pleasant one.

So DS has become necessary. Unbreakable in addition is just like: "Well screw it i wanna win that one."
Yeah the synergy with unbreakable is kinda BS.
I just want to play a bit. And as a player that is still working on the loops, I can be put out of a game fast if killer decides to use that tactic against me.
I myself rarely get to use it, because I prefer to heal up with a fast medkit. So it really only works for me in the truest sense of tunneling.
As a killer I don't seem to get hit with it very often, lucky maybe ,my play style probably helps there as well.
I will concede it does boost you. A DS/UB build is going to help you pip up. Maybe at least 2 or 3 ranks. But that could also be because you get a little more time to play.
-
Yeah the match making sucks!
But unfortunately smal pp build has become necessary.
If there is no obsession, your team just gets straight tunneled out of the game.
You have to make sure an obsession is in the game to at least make the killer respect it a little bit.

Lol, you’d rather deal with old Swing Chains?!
That is fair enough!
I'd rather deal with old Freddy, lol
-
My solo build is Kindred, DS, Spine Chill and DH.
I have just recently started running DS, as much as I hate to do it. It has just become a necessary evil. Even if it is just to make sure that there is an Obsession each match.
But Kindred is a must as solo. You don't really need BT if you know where the killer is and when to save.
Also it puts pressure on your fellow survivors to save you and not leave you until second stage when they can see each other and know the killer is not around.
SB/DH is just a personal preference and determined by you and your looping style.
Spine Chill is just a something I prefer to give me a jump on stealthy killers.
-
Every time I load into a game and see the paint brush and swing chains, I miss old Freddy!
-
I can't stand when people kill themselves on hook. Like I'm trying to pip up here, let me get that save.
I know rank doesn't matter, but I'm on a solo challenge. I want to see how high I can climb without a swf.
But, I agree you are playing some annoying killers, still no reason to screw over the team tho.

So i'm fairly new to the game, pretty average (Rank 7) and have a pretty bad habit of using the same perks over and over (BT/DS/IW/DH) ...
Been sitting on 1mill BP for a while, Prestiged Jake (main) and got pretty much most of the best perks for other characters, how do i keep this game fun and keep the BP grind going?
I don't play killer, after a few tries it's just too much stress... survivor is much easier and fun for me as a casual.
Any tips?
Well, removing half the game is going to limit your options.
I like to play 3 to 4 survivor games then switch and play 2 killer games.
It keeps both sides fresh and keeps things I don't like in perspective.
A fun game I like to play is play 3 survivor games.
Then I turn and play the killer I just faced in game 3 of survivor.
My advice, find your own challenges that keep it fun or take a break.

both bro...
I'm Sorry to hear that.
Try to ignore them, and just play the game. You will get better!
My advice tho. Forget the moris. They will only make you a worse killer in the long run.
They give you bad habits.
What platform do you play on?

Hell, apparently that's no guarantee either.
The amount of times that I've loaded into a game this weekend and ejected to the victory screen after 30 seconds is jaw dropping redonkulus. No exaggeration: when playing survivor, I've stopped bringing items at all and rush to the first chest right away to make sure there's at least a consolation prize for another few minutes wasted.
Haha, no doubts!!
-
I run kindred in my solo build.
And I still get left on hook to die.
Even after I saved everyone at least once.
Smh

Normal matches for killers during a blood hunt event can bring in upwards to 80,000 blood points or more. I'd rather have one of those instead of three quick 5-minute matches that barely nets me 20,000(before double bp).
Well I understand that. But you can turn a 20,000 point quick game into a 80,000 point quick game with, event, BBQ, and a Pudding.
I am with you myself, I prefer to just play and be a little chill during these events, but it depends on my competitors. If they are body blocking my hooks and flashlighting me at every pick up, well then they are not worried about playing chill and letting me get my points.
So I'll sweat and get into the next match quickly.
-
As a survivor I am still trying to learn to loop well. So I guess I may stay at the same jungle gym too long and go down for it. Still trying to tie jungle gyms together.
As a killer, I like to hunt. I am not really a go back to the hook , killer. (Not judging) But this can often be to my detriment. Like @MadLordJack I will cross the map to get that other survivor knowing I am probably losing a valuable genny, but at least I got the BBQ stack.
-
I just have to say, all of you have been amazing!!
Thanks so much for a great year.
I have enjoyed all the discussions, even if we didn't always agree. I appreciate you all showing me different perspectives and points of view.
Thanks again to all of you! Thanks for making me feel welcome in our community! Thanks for letting me vent now and then and for dealing with my jokes and occasional sarcasm!!

I agree. Killers have been super extra sweaty, campy, tunnel-y, and just generally mean tonight. Like they don't understand that short matches mean less BP. But I think it's because between SURV's using a bunch of BP streamers/cakes/petals, killers using their own BP offerings, BBQ&C, and the 2x event, they aren't bothered much by it. They're still making bank. Plus, the good players KNOW every 2x event is like this, so they're all playing Killer. And 2x attracts those infrequent players, so those of us interested in playing SURV tonight are getting sandbagged by potato players.
It's truly a super fecal-infused cocktail. Nights like this make me wonder why I even play DBD anymore.
Short matches mean more matches which actually equates to more blood points.
Especially with BBQ and puddings.

No, I'm not saying they want easy wins.
Just saying that this has become a major tactic currently being used.

Maybe dont sabo hooks during the event.
At least if a bunch of petals are played, take a game off.
Isn't that the mantra to killers during these events? Dont bring a mori and tunnel, I believe.
