It's all about your perspective. I play both sides, but when I want to farm points I play killer with BBQ and a pudding or streamers. So I will be getting the cakes on Killers so when I want to get bloodpoints I will have hundreds of cakes stacked with bbq.
-
Yeah frame drops are atrocious right now. Survivors are just disappearing.
So frustrating 😫
-
Like others have said before me, it goes both ways.
I wish people could learn to enjoy the journey and not just the destination.
It is all about escapes and 4ks anymore. Noone cares how they get there, their only enjoyment is how they view the results.
-
Are you a Goose fan?
-
Couldn't care less. I'm sorry, and I love this game, but didn't we already do this?
Nope, not again. Not even going for the damn crowns. So I can get tunneled or called an ######### for not letting someone go?
No thanks, keep the crowns.
-
That is some cold #########!!
-
I heard it from a friend , who, heard it from a friend, who. heard it from a friend..you were lagging out...
Sorry , had to. If you don't get the reference....Google it kid
-
Yeah, I agree with others before me. There are no more unwritten rules.
Me personally, I play how I would like to verse. I think more of this would really benefit the game.
But , in the end. Enjoy your journey in DBD, and allow others to do the same
-
Yeah, sorry, but no. Take your AFK ass and get good.
No one wants to sit around, get 0 points while you're afk and then get hit with some Noed , Blood warden play.
At least don't block the totems so they have a chance of cleansing them all to avoid such boring gameplay.
I don't use it much, but talk about entitled
-
Why don't they just revert the stupid pipping nerf to killers. They made it harder to pip, then reverted for survivors, and now red ranks are full of fking survivor potatoes.
But they kept it on Killers. Like why. Nothing worse then playing fair only to get some #########, entity displeased BS.
Killers can have more fun, and sweat less if they weren't told at the end game screen that they did badly.
-
I thought you meant, playing the game.

right? and the killer in the end game chat argues that I lost because I died its hilarious
Yeah, I guess if you get ran for 5 gens, you kinda have to find some kind of moral victory.

Heres a real hot take for you. I think BBQ, Ruin, and the BP part of we're gonna live forever should just be baseline.
- Double bloodpoints for everyone for obvious reasons, rewarding killers for spreading their attention to all survivors baseline, and encouraging altruistic playstyles baseline.
- Baseline aura reading as a built in anti-camping mechanic that gives new avenues for survivor perks to interact with a killer while simultaneously increasing the skill cap of killer by allowing them to identify perks based on when they can see auras, reduce aura exposure to 3 seconds and allow perks to block it innately. Baseline range of activation reduced to 32 meters.
- For example Distortion will always block it, but it will not consume any tokens. Other perks could be Repressed Alliance, blocking your aura when a generator you've blocked is active. Left Behind/Sole Survivor blocking your aura when you are the last survivor. Empathy, For The People, Babysitter blocking the aura when near teammates. Self-care, Bite the Bullet blocking your aura while healing. (Keep in mind this would only be for the BBQ-esque auras, all other killer perks would work as intended.) Giving windows for survivor skill that more easily fit into their perk choices consistently throughout the match. OoO would prevent any perks from blocking their aura no matter what. (Again, only for the BBQ-esque auras.)
- Ruin with no hex totem baseline to provide a small cushion of gen defense and also reward the killer for generating pressure, thereby reducing the necessity of such perks, passively buffing other perks. Encouraging build diversity. Tune remaining gen defense perks down to be more reasonably in line, reducing their overall feeling of oppression.
- Passively reduces the compulsion to tunnel/camp/slug gratuitously as each second of pressure on a survivor is now much more valuable than previously, reducing the need to actively suppress nearly the entire team for effective gen pressure at any given moment. Simultaneously increasing the weight of every decision a survivor makes while repairing generators, making the objective more engaging overall.
- Remove kick as baseline ability, have it be unique to those perks that require breaking a generator.
And before anyone comes in here with an ad absurdum argument of "Well then people are just gonna stack 4 defense perks or 4 tracking perks on top of X/Y". Yeah, obviously some people are going to do that, but that shouldn't cause other, more healthy avenues of gameplay to be shut down just for the fringe minority of cases.
Also if you want to talk about chess, you should probably consider that there are 69,352,859,712,417 possible games to be played after just 5 moves. And chess is an infinitely more simple, and balanced game compared to DBD.
I appreciate your well presented, well thought out response.
But, I'm a minimalist by nature. And, hence don't believe anything in this game should be free. You get 4 perk slots, decide on what you want and go to battle.
Now if you want more than 2 members swfs docked a perk slot for each subsequent member, I'm OK with that.
-
No no no....nothing basekit. Except cypress mori.
No free kindred, no free ruin, no free Corrupt.
The chess match is in synchronizing a build with your skill and playstyle.
-
No, if anything less perk slots would make for more interesting games
Or like a number of points and each perk with its own value
-
With respect, good for you. Also I assume you have DH, so I'm going bait it.
And I won't slug you.
And chances are you're the first one out the game, but respect 👏

It's very stupid when I get face camped and tunnelled but manage to loop the killer for 5 gens and I do not escape but I still de-pip hows that my fault that I did not work on gens or heal teammates while I'm absolutely clapping this killer.
If you ran the killer for literally 5 gens, who gives a ######### about a pip. You won!!

meanwhile killers can depip even with a 3k
You ain't depipping with a 3k unless you got it with noed or just camped.

Not bait, just trying to understand the dynamics of this issue because it doesn’t make sense to me without understanding the origin of the concern.
Well then, don't take one game or the actions of a few individuals and apply them to half of the player base. Many of us that play, play both sides and do not assign these labels to our competitors who choose to use certain tactics. And some folks that main only one side, can still understand that it is a game and they have no say in how another person plays. And perhaps even understand why the other side chose to use certain tactics in certain situations.
You will find, as you play, that there are crybabies on both sides. Not just one.

Funny note, as a slinger I find that console players pull off the most nuttiest sudden 90 degree turn lol
Fair enough, I have seen some awesome spins myself
-
First, not survivors, this particular group of survivors. We really need to stop applying the bad behavior of one game as data for the whole community as if it's every game.
There are plenty of awesome kind players on both sides that do not engage in these behaviors.
But, congrats on your win!!!
-
I know as a console player, I can tell when I am versing a PC Huntress, Nurse, and Blight, because of the moves they can pull off.
-
Freddy is fine, his slowdown BS had to go.
-
I agree. Like especially if the killer doesn't even have but maybe one hook and you just stay and pump out gennys. Like I enjoy winning as much as the next person. But, I also enjoy the game. So why not heal, do some totems, search a chest, get in a chase? You already have a lead, 3 gens done to 1 hook. I'd rather die in an interesting game then win a boring one.
I hate games like this on both sides. 5 minutes and it's over and no one got any points.

I get these matches so much more often lately and I'm just left thinking, thanks for the gameplay, lol. It feels so rewarding to be in queue for 10 minutes, in-game for 4, with enough points for one or two spots on the bloodweb. I get that killers want to avoid the genrush, but what about the people that don't get to play at all because they're targeted from the start?
Glad to hear about the Leon though. A lot of solo survivors are really awesome in those situations and do everything they can to help out. Teamwork can really be amazing sometimes.
Agreed. Best part of soloing or solos are those moments.
I know, those games are tough when you get a string of them together. But at least you get to practice looping.
-
I know others disagree with me on this, but I believe so.
I played Friday and killers straight tunneled one of us all game. Even had a legion that I chased and blocked and took hits just refuse to let the other survivor go. Tunneled them right out of the game. Then of course noed at the end.
But shout out to the leon that still came back and got me. Best part was slow walking out the gate while legion just stood there too afraid I may have DS.
GF just tunneled and hit me off hook as soon as my feet hit the ground, then just hooked me right away. Didn't have DS, trying to have fun with my fast heals, but made me put it on after.
I get it. And tactical tunneling I can understand. But, it's hard to respect a gamer who's whole strategy is to tunnel.

Players are not to be held responsible for game's poor design and mechanical fallacies.
No, but taking advantage of an exploit is less than sportsman like, wouldn't you agree.
It's in bad form at the least
-
@Edgars_Raven said:
Um. No. You have the complaint wrong. They are complaining that survivors run *in a straight line and predrop pallets.*
And yet they have no complaints about bloodlust, weird
-
@TripleSteal said:
No, why would it be?
Because it's an exploit and allows you to reenter the game at full health to take a hit for someone when you should of been chased out.

Thanks. My daughter got us into the game, and now she doesn't have to carry so much, it is pretty fun.
-
I have made a lot of friends in this game. Often, when playing killer and mutual respect for each others gameplay led to conversations, then the inevitable, "Do you play survivor, want to join us/me?"
My main SWF is my wife and daughter, our fourth is a couple of friends we have made over the years just gaming.
And, my lady and I also have our own pool of friends we play with when my daughter is working or bored with the game for a bit.

even IF it would lead to killer nerfs, they should fix it asap. Technically there is NO counter to keys right now except killing them off before hatch spawns which is extremly difficult for some killers in red ranks.
Certainly can understand that, but what counters traps at the exit gates. Keys, of course.
But, honestly, IMO, they can get rid of the whole hatch mechanic completely.
-
@Ruma said:

So just because something is rare its okey to stay?
So as a extreme example: murders are okey since they are rare compared to non murders?
And by that logic.. : Why did moris got nerfed then? They were pretty rare too despite being broken.
Does that mean it wasnt a problem and they were completely okey and didnt needed a change??
If you ignore this i already know the awnser i guess.
I think you missed my point. I am not advocating for keys. I am saying that this was probably one game all day. Sux, sure, but not that big of a deal.
But, if indeed, they are as problematic as others have attempted to indicate, then they would be drastically lowering kill rates, and having them removed will then raise kill rates, leading to killer nerfs. Once again, if they are as big as a problem as others like to claim.
Mori did need a change, it promoted unfun gameplay, mainly, tunnel dude off hook and eliminate them asap. Keys, why I do support a nerf for them, may become a problem if they are indeed so strong, because of potential to raise the kill rates.
So, nerfing keys, could lead to killer nerfs.
-
The hatch just sucks. I don't even give a ######### about it.
In that situation, I do objectives until I am seen, then practice looping until I am caught and die as soon as I can.
Next game please.
-
It is indeed camping.
But, why care? You know what your doing and why. So why give a ######### what others say about it?
-
@Ruma said:

Also dont you love when someone comes up with excuses like ,,At this poin you lost anyway" or ,,When survivors got so far they deserved the escape"
If there wasnt a damn key i would have gotten ATLEAST a 3k.
I had such a nice 3 with one gen COMPLETLY trapped (with addon that automaticly reputs traps every 30 secs)
My point with Keys is they are not that common.
And if they are so commonly used, then they are lowering a kill rate that is in the 60% .
So, if this is also true, and they are as problematic as people like to say they are, then without them we would see a significant rise in kill rates. Which would result in killer nerfs. 🤔
But, no one seems to want to discuss how this is a truth, if they are indeed so strong and so prevalent.
-
I think map size is perhaps the biggest problem with balancing this game. But there is so much that goes into it, if we shrink maps in favor of giving killers a better experience then camping and tunneling become more viable.
But as it is now, with a good crew of survivors, gens can be hard to defend.
I think the game is in a decent place, but true balance may be impossible
-
So , I'm guessing you don't play killer.

Well I certainly could manage better with all perks unlocked like you have no doubt.
Playing Wraith and Legion mainly, so as you know they are both m1 killers and most often I am going against red rank survivor SWF teams, but even in solo if I get 2 red rank survivor, they know how to play, and can loop 60+ sec at very least, meanwhile the other 3 on gens.
I figured out the stat part too,if I get one survivor at the end, all of them trying to save the last one, and can be punished for it, this can show how op the killer is,even though they throw the game after winning just to save their teammate.
Another thing, could you tell me a good build without regression perks, because I only have basic perks unlocked and doing the free killer perks to unlock, so nurse, hillbily etc.
The things is I found no counter, when I chase a survivor, the other 3 doing gens, and literally gens are flying, the player know how to loop so at very least my 45 sec wasted.
I dont take account for the bad survivors who dont know looping, but if player any good, killer is very uphill battle, i dont have ruin+undying. Neither pop.
Now what the hell I should do?
The only thing you can do is play, play play. There are no perks better then experience in this game. And that is why you are probably feeling killer is harder now.
You are versing groups which have much more experience than you, and likely they are predicting you in loops. You can only get better at chases, by chasing. And as you play you will learn how and when to mindgame. When to use your power and when to M1. Legion for example is great in chases with FF, because they can vault pallets and windows.
The only slowdown perk I run is pop.
And BBQ is in the shrine get that for awareness and bloodpoints to help you unlock others Killer's the perks. Killer is the power role unless versing 4 optimal survivors, which is rare in pub games.
Watch some online tutorials for killer and get grinding, and you'll be destroying red ranks in no time.
-
It's killer sided except at the highest level of survivor play.
And with only 50 hours in, it is hard to not be skeptical of your opinion.
I have played this game for 4 years. And like many other long term players, as killer, I certainly win much more than I lose. And I play with self imposed rules.

The only one stating things as they are. No wonder you completely got ignored. People tend to conveniently forget that if they get "genrushed" it's most likely their own fault for playing badly. But tunneling one specific survivor out of the game is their own choice
Thank you! I agree
-
You will get better teammates as your rank improves. But solo q is the hardest mode in the game.

apparently i'm the only one who doesn't see it's value.
It's a BP machine. Run bbq and a pudding and you get 80 to 100k a game.

I like the big names, but don't really watch them much.
The last year I've been watching Longlivmac. Just a fun guy, plays both sides and has a great community. If you come by, I've been known to gift a sub or two.
Also Brotherbone is a really fun sweet guy
-
Play how you want. Not sure what reaction you are after.
And if you ever play survivor, well these tactics are not a surprise.
If you are having fun, then sounds like it works for you.
-
I enjoy killer for the challenge and because maining one side is only playing half the game.
But, I also think the game is in a good spot right now and win much more than I lose as killer.
The big question is why do I keep playing Solo survivor 🤔

People like you are the reason the word "literally" doesn't mean anything anymore.
Also, if you are insulted by a correction in grammar, that's your deal. Take responsibility for your own emotions.
It would seem you are the one insulted and emotional. I was just pointing out not to anoint yourself the grammar police of the forums.
You must be so fun at partys.
I'm sorry, parties.
