They are fixed now

If it correlates to no tunneling and camping, then yes.
I really wish 12 hook games were more the norm than the exception.
-
Id hit you up, but we are 21+. So if that applies let me know
-
Yes, this is how undying works.

MYC is good! I don't have it unlocked though. Maybe for Bloodhunt and cakes ill level up Pig. Exposed builds are just fun lol Wraith with all seeing blood is fun.
I did just get Legion so Im trying to level her up now too (Discordance/Hex: HG/Hex:DH/Bitter murmur) is what I have now.
Nice, I know, exposed and all seeing is so Nasty!

Doctor is my main. I run 2 builds;
Corrupt/BBQ/Whispers/Surge
Hex: Devour Hope/Hex: Undying/BBQ/NOED
Former is just balanced and focused on getting into chases ASAP. Latter is just for fun lol DH and Undying are great on Doctor. Securing 3 hooks for exposed status isn't hard on Doctor. NOED is just for fun at the end lol
Wraith (all seeing blood especially!)
Hex: Haunted Ground, Hex: Devour Hope, Hex: Undying, BBQ
I'm enjoying DH and HG a lot now. This build is annoying because I have wall hack auras, possible 2 rounds of Haunted Grounds with Undying. There's a 60% chance of them cleansing Haunter Ground (2 trapped totems and Undying). If they find DH first, then Undying will take the hit.
I like your Wraith build, but I like to add MYC with it as well. Exposed statuses all game!

You shouldn't be camping pallets 🤣 and hoping for the stun to save you instead of looping better🤔
I don't. But if someone does, just like camping, tunneling, slugging, it is up to the individual to play how they want. IN either case, you shouldn't be getting BS hits at pallets.
-
Please, these hits have been going the other way for years. You shouldn't get a stun and be down on the ground as well.
-
Like others have said before, it is what survivors have dealt with for years. It has just now been reversed.
BS pallet hits shouldn't count
-
Yes, quite simply, yes
-
Not OP, but I agree with @Pulsar . Unhealthy design.
-
That did look completely fine, IMO. Little late on the drop.
-
Bond and Windows, I like information and these really help me know what is going on.
Discordance is a perk I seem to always come back to

Sounds like life in Solo Q

You come to the forums to complain about people complaining?
Something they are indeed, entitled to do on the forums.
People have opinions, they want to discuss them on the forums , if you don't like it, find a different thread to read.

True, it's easier to pip in purple than pip in red. But not so sure if it's easier to pip in purple than +0 pip in red! Think it requires less medal points but I didn't check those requirements in a while.
I agree with you that, in general, Solo Q is harder than Killer, if you want to win consistently! There is just too much determined by how good (or bad) your teammates are.
However, I definitely still think that reaching red ranks is just much easier as a Survivor than a Killer, due to the fact that you can pip up even when losing. And that is acceptable, as it is very easy to lose when playing Survivor, due to your team. Just felt I had to challenge some of the comments above making out reaching red is easier for Killers (assuming you have equal skill in Killer and Survivor)
Fair enough.
I appreciate the discussion!
Always good to hear and consider other perspectives.

Staying in red ranks is easier than reaching red ranks, as your only requirement is to get a safety pip. To get to red ranks you need to consistently pip up, and this is a struggle in purple ranks, it was for me at least when I was still learning Killer, and started facing good teams. Survivor however, see my previous post, you are guaranteed safety pips by just participating in the game, even if you lose, so reaching red ranks is just a matter of playing enough games.
I can understand that perspective. But I have been in red ranks for 4 years. And it's easier to pip in purple ranks than red.
The simple truth is, you can pip just from camping and tunneling. EZ.
And it's way easier to double pip as killer than as survivor.
And SWFing, please.
IMO, it will always be solo q, killer, swf in order of difficulty.

Disagree, I got red rank in (solo) survivor before I got red ranks in Killer and I play Killer much more as well.
Also if you camp at red ranks you will lose a lot of games so even then I think it's hard to pip consistently
Not true at all. We just had a post where OP got to and maintains rank 1 by camping.
And in solo q, you see a lot of campers. I get it, it's easy mode as killer, like SWFing, for survivor, but it does work.
I'm doing an experiment right now to see, after being inspired by the other post, and I am having no trouble staying in red ranks just camping.

Yeah, one group does not a whole make.
Stop applying one experience to a whole group of people.

God I hope so!!! 🙏

Consider it a blessing from the lord.
I myself would kill for matches that easy, since I've been stuck in red ranks for years now.
I feel you there, but those games are too easy there. Maybe somewhere in the middle

DS should deactivate in screnarios like that anyway. Why should the killer be punished for potentially going for the only one you could even down anymore. Thats not tunneling anymore since you more often than not dont have any other options.
That is a fair statement, but that is the reason you run the perk. They already nerfed it , so you basically run this perk for the chance you may get to use it once all game. If you remove it's potency at the end game, it would be about worthless. And often it is best to save it for the endgame, especially in solo q. But I do see your point.
-
@Ruma said:

Going against someone who is unhooking or opening the gate isnt tunneling. Not hard.
imo DS should activate both hookstates but it should deactivate endgame and by any action that shows you are not being tunneled, like opening a gate.
But, you can be tunneled running to a 99 gate. The real problem is not DS in this moment but 99ing the gates. Because, why should I be punished for a 99 gate, just open the damn doors teammates. But, my guess is this is why it doesn't deactivate when opening the doors, because of the potential for 99ing them.
-
Like others have stated. It's up to you and what motivates you in this game.
I think most intelligent players understand it's all fair in love and the EGC. So, you want to protect a hook do it. If that is fun for you or important to you, then by all means do you.
-
To be fair, looking at plague pic, it seems you have a lot more time in game then your competitors.
You have a P2 plague at rank 15. 12 days after rank reset. Is this your normal rank level? Why block out your devotion?
Sure, DCing is BS. But if they were completely outmatched I could see why they became frustrated
-
Wraith, if you are new, you don't even need to worry about hooks. You can just chase while cloaked, learn survivor movements and start to understand these. And build from there.
-
That's me as well. I rarely see keys in my lobby.
-
I agree with others, I do not tunnel. Even to my detriment at times. However, if you take advantage of game mechanics and a perk to force me to hit you with BT, well then, you want my attention, I will give it to you.

LOL keep telling yourself that you have control buddy. Good survivors has full control of the pace of the game, not you. this has been shown numerous times and most recently with the "hard core survivor" challenge being done with the main content creators.
Thanks, Buddy.
4 optimal survivors are the exception, not the rule. As you can clearly tell when you play as or verse Solo q.
-
Killer is harder at high ranks when facing good survivors.
But, solo q is the hardest mode in the game. At least as killer you determine the flow of the game and do not have to rely on anyone else.
Solo q, with ######### teammates, is borderline unbearable.
-
Not condoning the DCing, but mending simulator does get quite boring.
Has this happened when you play other killers?
-
This is why stridor spirit was so hated. Those two together made it easy mode.
I would use glasses so you can see blood when phasing

Nearly every day as a farming killer, letting every survivor leave with 28k+ bp each match. I used cakes every game, which led to me getting more cakes. I also took advantage of the event shrine to buy cakes. I played it smart -- towards the end of the event playing survivor not using any cakes because of how unpredictable the matches are. As killer I had way more control over how the games played out and got a ton of bp as a result.
Nice!!! I wish I would of ran into you when I was playing survivor!
-
Damn, how much did you play during the event? I didn't get many on my survivors. I think I used more than I saved

'Surely you can concede that while not against the rules, it is not the most engaging nor sportsmanlike way of playing.'
So? Not to be a jerk but...so?
I've played this game since launch, and do you know the only times 'sportsmanship' is applied? To Killers and how they win.
Strong perks? Unsportsmanlike!
Strong Killers? Unsportsmanlike!
Valid tactics (Slugging, tunneling, camping)? Unsportsmanlike!
Killers have to make sure Survivors have fun! Killers have to stop being 'sweats'! Killers have to go off-meta! ...But Survivors? Survivors can run a 4-man SWF, with meta perks, and voice comms and Killers are supposed to 'git gud' and 'suck it up'.
Do you know what the equivalent of 'camping' and 'tunneling' is? 'Genrushing'. I don't believe in any of the phrases, but as long as Survivors will bang out gens in under 5 minutes while ALSO screaming for Killers to 12 hook because 'Sportsmanship' and 'Stop being a jerk', I will keep saying 'No.'
Because why are Killers supposed to not try to win, or only win by some made up code of honor forced on them by THE OPPOSING SDIE, while that same side continues to try winning as fast as they can?
It's a BS double standard. So don't talk to me about 'Sportsmanship', because it's nothing more than 'Stop trying to win' in a pretty bow.
I see your point, and I guess you are correct for the majority of the player base. I have also played a long time, but I now play how I would like to verse. So, I play by self imposed rules for both sides. I don't tunnel, never camped because it doesn't appeal to Me. But as survivor I also don't bring Map offerings, toolboxes, flashlights anymore and only run DS that would be considered Meta. But, if I hit you with DS, it is tunneling in it's truest form, as I heal ASAP.
I do think allowing for unhooks makes a more interesting game, regardless of the role I am playing. I am not saying ignore stupidity and walk away from silly unhooks, just after you have secured the hook and you see no one is around, move away.
But, admittedly, this has taken a long time for me to get here. And in either case, I defend everyone's right to play how they wish, regardless of tactics, they get GGs from me.
I appreciate your counter points and thanks for the debate.

Then you do gens?
How hard is it to understand that the Killer has a choice to guard his kill?
How hard is it to understand that Survivors don't get an unhook just because they want it?
How hard is it to understand that camping is a valid tactic, and Survivors reward it by rushing the hook?
All these suggestions are based off of the wrong ideas that:
- Killers are doing something wrong/against the rules
- Survivors should get the unhook because...vague reasons.
If the Killer camps; you do gens. You punish him by doing your objective. Your objective is not 'Save the hooked guy'. You don't win by saving the hooked guy. The Killer does not deserve to be punished and you don't deserve the unhook, just because you want either of those things.
I don't know what else to tell you. You don't get the unhook just because you want it or think camping is 'unfair'. The Killer has every right to protect his kills. Bottom line.
Not everyone plays for some objective. I play for fun. As such just sitting on gennys to escape is not fun. And as an empathetic person I feel for the guy who is getting camped all game.
It is not hard for us to understand the logic of how to "win", it is hard to understand why someone would do this in a game. So, why I don't believe in punishing a person for playing within the rules, I can also understand why this bothers someone.
Surely you can concede that while not against the rules, it is not the most engaging nor sportsmanlike way of playing.
-
@Power_Guy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2376504#Comment_2376504
No. This is nothing more than 'I want free, safe unhooks'. Hook grabs punish Survivors who are stupid enough to go for unhooks when the Killer is 5 feet away.
Remove them, and healthy Survivors can literally sprint in and unhook, so they will only be hit once, then the Killer's attack is on cooldown.
But what if the killer never leaves the hook? This is not stupid, but a calculated risk to attempt to give a teammate a chance to actually play the game. Now, I understand these type of survivors exist, but so do killers that only stand around hooks.
-
Yeah, this is a good idea. [BAD WORD] DCs drive me crazy. Just play it out, get your points and move on.

I understand how it'll work multiplicative with Iron Will 3.
Tier 3: 0 % sound × 50 % sound = 0 % sound
Tier 2: 25 % sound × 50 % sound = 1.250 % sound?
Tier 1: 50 % sound × 50 % sound = 2.500 % sound?
How does it work? Will I be able to hear a grunting Meg across the whole map if she only has Tier 1 IW?
Or will it rather be 50 % of 50 % which is 25 % and 25 % of 50 % which is 12.5 %?
Think you just forgot the decimal.
.25×.50 = .125 which equals 12.5 % volume.
25% for tier 1
-
Killer IMO here. He can easily kill you, which is his objective. You are not going to escape, which is yours. So I'd say it is on them to end the game and not be a dick about it.

A streamer I enjoy just started using stretch, and honestly I am having a hard time watching. It just feels like cheating.
You can see the killer over walls, how is it not?

I always wanted to do this as a study, see how far I could climb just camping, but I feel it would get dull.

I had a Kate have the equivalent intelligence of a molerat basically throw the game away against this Wraith we played against because she (who wasn't on any hooks) ACTIVELY REFUSED TO GO INTO A CHASE WITH HIM!
All of us could've escaped if she ONLY GAVE US TIME BY BEING CHASED EVEN A LITTLE BIT!
I know. Take a hit, do a genny, run away from the hook....aaahhhh.
This is why so many folks decide to swf.
-
Honestly if you do only solo q the kill rates would be in the 80 percentile.
Solo q is a joke. The amount of times I die on first hook would seem statistically impossible.
The better question is why do so many people want to SWF?
Because Solo q purgatory is a grab bag of bullshit teammates, DCs, camping tunneling killers with teammates that won't take a hit, hook farms, genny phobics ...etc.
Sorry but you're not getting 2 queues, won't happen . And Solo experience is only gonna make more SWFs.
Soon this game will be only killers and swfs. And a few of us that play both sides that do some Solo before we say fk it and return to killer.
