I mean if you start taking a power set from a identifiable vampire you could theoretically run into trouble due to plagiarizing and also you never know someone might actually owns the rights to slenderman
Slightly change the name, and mythology, and you've avoided all possible copyright claims. I just looked, and slenderman is trademarked, and owned. The owner is hard to find on google. Probably because slenderman was created by the public, and not one person. Ownership must be a cluster F.

@terumisan said:
Who owns slenderman? I mean if they just outright do you'll find legal trouble somewhere
Also wouldn't a flashlight be mandatory for him? Since every game with him in it has one on hand?
He's an urban legend. nobody owns him. Kind of like how no one has the rights to vampires, or werewolves.

As long as SWF groups can do 3 gens in 120-150 seconds mori is a necessary addon simply for balance issues.
10 seconds a chase, and 3 hooks on everyone is exactly 120 seconds. Add 36 seconds to walk to the hooks (3 seconds for each hook). That's 156 seconds if the killer makes absolutely no mistakes, and plays better than anyone has ever played DBD. Even then the killer has lost 3 gens, and is playing catch-up on the last hook to win the game. You need a freakin mori in this scenario unless you're a DBD god.
Add 20 seconds for decisive strike if you get stuned 4 times. Or a whopping 240 seconds if you respect everyones 60 second BS snowflake safe space. Not including flashlight stuns, broken loops, palletes, and rng all adding even more seconds. That's every survivor getting 60 free seconds to do a gen, or forcing the killer to lose 5 seconds. Either way the killer has a serious up hill battle.
It takes a m1 killer without movement powers 10 seconds or more to cross the map. That doesn't sound like much, but that 10 seconds is a devastating waste of time.
This is why spirit, nurse, and hilbilly are truly the only viable killers. You physically can't stop gens when it can potentially take too long (at no fault of the killer) to get all sacrifices. Even a potato survivor group can finish all gens in 250 seconds.
You cannot apply the pressure necessary when the killer can't physically get there fast enough. All middle range killers are the underdogs in red ranks, and until gens are slowed down, or survivors get a second objective moris should stay exactly the way they are.
That being said a mori addon on nurse, hilbilly, and spirit is unbalanced. But only on them.

And at that point the action speed debuff doesn't even affect the match even more, since two survivors are dead. They should really buff the values, but they can't as long as Dying Light stacks with Thana.
I was stacking dying light with thano as old freddy. I'd tunnel, and camp the obsession. 4 gens would be done, but it didn't matter. I was getting more than 80% gen speed reduction. 50% for sleeping survivors. 25% dying light, and 3 injured survivors for thano. And of course I had sloppy butcher. God I miss old freddy.
I think 5% instead of 3% without the obsession penalties on the killer would be just fine. 5 hooks for 25% is perfectly reasonable, and still a nerf compared to the old 3 hook tunnel dependent dying light for 25%. And yes; I think thano would be ok with this. you can heal to counter after all.
-
Whenever I get Lery's map as killer I go AFK to make a sandwich, and watch Netlix.
It's not worth a second of my time.
Yes I can 4k, pip up, or safety pip depending on rng, and the team I get. I just don't want to play a map I absolutely hate against a potentially toxic swf group. Nope.
-
@starkiller1286 said:
So the perk is literally a hinderence with no positives?
Basically. You need 8 hooks just to get 24% reduction as apposed to just hooking the obsession until death with 3 hooks for 25%. All while the obsession is on steroids.
Can you say NERF?

I prestigeded 3 trapper, leather face, freeddy, huntress, hilbilly, hag, pig, and nurse to get better items in the bloodweb, and because I enjoy the grind. Clown, plague, legion, and myers are next.

How's he better than Hag if his skill is irrelevant? If you're better than the team as Hag then THEY won't have a chance regardless of THEIR skill. Hags also a lot better than Billy if played correctly, I've argued it before my break from the forums and I will again. It's obvious that Hag is better.
Read, and respond to my comment coherently, and I'll respond intelligently. otherwise I will ignore you.

Well it is "situational" but honestly I think it's much better as a leurre.
Something about seeing a survivor looking back whilst running straight towards me, brings me joy.
It can also be used to get in front of someone abusing sprint burst.
-
Worse than hilbilly, better than hag. He's right in the middle. A good team can easily stomp him no matter what a killers skill level might be just like all mid range killers.
-
A full blown swf R1 squad gen rushing should take 5 minutes max.
Which would average out at 6 to 15 minutes max for people playing gens normally. If the timer hits 20 minutes end game triggers no matter what.

just because a person or a group has a high opinion of someone doesn't make them infallible.
all proof tendered is reflective of those particular experiences.
generators having the ability to be completed as fast as they do doesn't make that the intended way to play the game, or even fun at all.
when game play experience is modified to reflect only a group of users there are usually many more groups of users who don't agree at all, based on their own experiences.
i hear popular people say weird stuff and give evidence of bad opinions quite frequently is all i'm saying.

Yeah, that is exactly my intention. To want everything nerfed that gives a killer any kind of advantage.
I made this thread cause I feel like this could be too powerful, nothing more, since I want the game to be as balanced as possible. It's just my opinion on a certain balance aspect of the new killer, based on my observations. If that is how you need to react when someone has an opinion on a topic you don't agree with, then you've honestly got a problem.
Just a Joke dude. no need to get all defensive, teary on me.
-
It's truly amazing. There it sits. one of the best guys to ever DBD saying gen speed is too fast. Hundreds of thousands of hours worth of combined video from youtubers, and streamers providing hard undeniable fact based evidence that gens are too fast.
It's in your face black-and-white, clear as crystal. But that's somehow not a good enough reason to nurf gen speed. And nobody wants a secondary objective. they say they do, but at the same time argue against any, and all secondary objectives. no matter how good the idea is.
There's so many people in denial on this forum.

What? You can't always see the killer, and you certainly can't always know if a survivor has found a Hex totem and where the totem is.
On big maps you can see the killer a long ways away. if a survivor gets injured you know it's safe to cleanse. You always know when the obsession is in a chase. if someone gets downed you have time to cleanse. you can be repairing a gen with other survivors, and see the killer go after one of them. Survivors can body block the person cleansing. There are a trillion other ways to for a solo survivor to know when it's safe to cleanse.
and if you really suck that bad at finding totems, or locating survivors use an aura perk, and a map.
-
OMG! A killer has a little advantage that can easily be countered by using a little brain power!
NURF! NURF IT NOW! IT'S OP!

But that's just a solution for swf survivors. What about solo survivors? Should they be left out once again?
If you're really a solo survivor you know that you can easily see a killer chasing someone all by yourself, and make the judgment call on if it's safe to cleanse. Please stop. you're giving solos a bad name.
-
Mori is a necessary counter for SWF teams that do 3 gens in less than 2 minutes.
Nurf gen times, and you can have your mori nerf. Otherwise spirIt, and nurse would be the only killers able to win against such teams.

Xenomorph really doesn't make sense though, It's essentially an ant, so without a queen it dies. It would be amazing if they did it, but I really don't see them making it a killer.
No. A Xenomorgh has an authority structure. The ant like Xenomorghs called Drones do not kill unless the queen is directly threatened. Their primary goal is caring for the nest, and abducting live hosts for the face huggers.
The warrior Xenomorghs job is to hunt, and kill anything it finds. The warrior patrols a large area around the nest stopping any potential intruders. But they mostly "go where the meat is" as ripleys clone once said. You'd most likely be playing a warrior in DBD.
In any case drons can transmute a host into an egg in a process called egg morphing.
Also there are usually a few royal face huggers waiting for the queen to die so they can make a new queen.
But even without any possibility of a queen, the warrior class Xenomorgh cut off from any contact with other Xenomorghs would still prosper for a good long while until dying of old age.
The entity could even bring a drone into DBD. The drone could place eggs (it happened to be carrying when the entity took it) around gens. The face huggers could then attack, the baby Xenomorgh bursts out killing the host, and a full blown warrior class Xenomorgh stalks the remaining 3 survivors. There's so much awesome potential.

Not swamp thing, but the alien that copies organisms from that movie that takes place in the arctic. And yes. I believe it can be made humanoid enough to fit into the devs "humanoid killers only rule" , and still look horrific.
You start off as a monstrosity. Movement speed is off the charts. Faster than Hibilly. When you find a survivor they become exposed. THE THING can easily win the chase because of the movement speed. But it can't hook the survivor. While the survivor is in the dying state THE THING absorbs, and copies them. This takes 5 seconds. The screen turns black for the survivor, and the killer as their both teleported to random spots on the map at least 50 meters away from any survivor. The slugged survivor is healed. THE THING can activate this ability as many times as it wants with no cool down until it has copied all 4 survivors. Then that ability can't be activated again once all 4 survivors have been copied. Survivors slugged with this ability don't lose health in the entity progression, and the killer is forced to absorb. (So Toxic killers don't slug everyone, and hold the game hostage)
The things secondary power is switching skins it has copied. It can do anything a survivor can do while pretending to be a survivor. The only thing it can't do is drop pallets. It can't attack while pretending to be a survivor.
THE THING can pretend to work on gens with other survivors. Secretly making it slower, and slightly increasing skill check chance. If a survivor fails a skill check, or They've been working on the gen together for 30 seconds THE THING will instantly show itself highlighting, and exposing any survivors within 24 meters, and getting a 3 second 4% speed boost. The exposed effect lasts 10 seconds. However, it can only chase a survivor for 40 seconds before it reverts back to a survivor unable to attack again.
Whenever a gen is finished THE THING shows itself, and all survivors become exposed for 20 seconds. After 50 seconds it reverts back to a survivor.
THING can pull survivors off hex totems while in survivor form.
Whenever a chase timer runs out THE THING blacks out, and teleports to a random spot on the map in a different skin at least 30 meters away from any survivor.
THING can look thru chests. Items found are left behind, but the durability is halved.
THING can pretend to cleanse a hex totem. However it's actually buffing it's durability.
It can hide in lockers, vault, emote, and teabag.
It can run, crouch walk, and walk just like any survivor.
When THE THING shows itself it's terror radius covers the entire map.
I'd also like to see the wolfman, Dracula, the mummy, creature from the blue lagoon, Swamp Thing, Frankensteins monster, Jason, Chucky, Jeepers creepers, and Sasquatch in this game. Lol.

Not just in the Mori but appearance as well. And I believed she was even inspired by the creature. I just don't want two killers who are so similar, I would love some variety.
Hag is more of a decrepit witch type creature using her knowledge of dark magic to teleport.
A wendigo is a fast agile slick monster capable of doing things the hag couldn't dream of.

There Should be blood, guts, beheadings, and lose of limbs. It'd be great if hilbillys mori was hacking off chunks of meat until just a meat pile was left, or trappers mori was hacking off the head. That demogordons mori should definitely leave the survivor headless.

Average gen time with no ruin is 70-76s. It all depends on the skillchecks. 1 great skillcheck takes 1 s away. It is impossible for 1 person do do a gen in 50s. Sorry but addind more gen time is the task for the killer, Ruin helps, Corrupt Intervention helps and you also have Pop if you struggle so much. I'd rather have survivors doing something extra to get them off gens like secondary objective. Because as I said holding M1 is boring when I know someone is looping with the killer I do not even have to look around.
Red gear+repair speed buffed tool box=less than 50s repair for one survivor. Not including perks. So it's very possible. The good survivors don't work on gens alone. Again only rank 15, and 20 newbies do that.
-

I have 2800 h in this game and I've been playing both sides. All I can say holdin M1 for 80s is not fun, nor engaging. The gen time should remain as it is now but secondary objective like the lanterns during "Chinese New Year" even would be cool and it would also give M1 killers more time.
Who holds m1 for 80s? 30s. 50s max. With 2,800 hours of play time you already knew that anyway. Rank 15, and 20 newbies hold m1 for 80s. And You're not just holding m1 watching the pistons move. You're actively looking for a killer that can come from any direction.

Just make RUIN last 60s after being destroyed like Gaunted Grounds - problem solved. It is a fair solution for both sides. Extending gen times or adding another M1 objective or gen is a bad idea. I would like to see second objective for survivors like "lanterns" during Chinese New Year event - that was cool.
So basically anything that might extend gen time is a bad idea. gotcha. Lol.
You're obviously not new to the game, so you either only play survivor, or you're knowingly lying because you like fast gens despite the balance issues.
-
