  • Well, it would appear that the only thing you actually did was escape, really. Even your contribution to the overall team effort to repair generators was tenuous, despite your specialized loadout. If I was to guess, this would suggest that you spent a lot of time hiding from the killer terror radius rather than attempting repairs, thus your teammates got more done than you did. Without interaction with the killer OR your teammates, you can't expect a good performance. Nevertheless, you achieved your ultimate objective of escaping, thus your MMR definitely went up and you can be considered a skilled survivor in this scenario

  • Normally I consider the meat plant a fairly OK map, since I play mostly pyramid head and and plague, but after a particularly disheartening game there with sadako, now I finally get what's wrong with that map. Bubba might be fun there. No vaults buncha pallets. One big deadzone

  • OK, so the real important question. How many games does it take before you are paired with decent survivors in solo queue?

  • 2?

Or it felt that way with clown. Second game after just purchasing him was a total defeat against a supremely skilled team with very meta builds and a lerys offering.

  • Tell her that you have such sights to show her.

  • If the bots are gonna do gens and survive a chase for about 20 seconds, as opposed to... Whatever most solo queue teammates usually do, I'm all for it. A definite improvement.

  • And I want Sam, Dean and Bobby as survivors. But we can't all have what we want. :)

It is that hard, you don't know killer has it or not before hit.

All hex totems are rewarding killer for good play. NOED is only perk rewards them for losing game (generators). This type perk should never exists.

OK, normally I stay away from this kind of antagonizing polemic post, but this is just incorrect.

To get it out of the way I'm a main killer, I don't use NOED, I just don't get much value from it. I firmly believe that NOED is fine. Also DH is fine.

Does every survivor who uses DH is making up for a mistake? No its not. Most of the time is a premeditated decision made in the knowledge that they have that tool. Sure, sometimes it is used to recover from a bad move, but not most of the time and in this situation almost always a second mistake will be made.

Does every NOED killer uses it to make up for losing the game? No, many use it as a premeditated strategy that comes to fruition in the endgame, with complementing perks and that requires early and mindgame setting (pallet clearing, 1 or 2 hooks on everyone) so you blitz the survivors and snowball.

Getting to endgame with 2 hooks and a bunch of safe pallets still standing is going to end up with a 4e, NOED or not, 1k if the planets align.

Is it used by less skilled killers who play with a mind that they already lost and want to secure 1 kill? Sure, but I don't think it's the majority if people keep saying it's such a problem, because these players are gonna get stomped regardless 9 out of 10.

And hi. Normally I love your posts.

  • Funny. I find that playing survivor isn't very fun. I enjoy playing killer far more even if sometimes does feel unfair

  • Since you already have many good recommendations I'm gonna point out a few oldies but goodies, such as jeepers creepers, the house of rose red, John carpenter's the thing, critters, pumpkinhead and perhaps wishmaster.

  • Honestly I think it would be a good system for both hexes and boons.

Would make using either more strategical and create a whole new mindgame potential and make of bones an actual secondary objective rather than the afterthought it is now

  • OK, favorite moris to watch?

I played hk a little but it didn't hold my attention enough at the time so I stopped. It is a great game but sometimes it happens with me. I noticed the music and atmosphere right away tho. Gameplay was also great and challenging. Maybe I will get back to it one day.

Currently I am looking forward to Chrono cross remaster, my favorite childhood game. Loved the music on that one, Yasunori Mitsuda is genius. I listened to that ost for my whole life basically and even played some of it on my acoustic.

You should try Dust: and elysian tail. Great game. Awesome soundtracks.

Are you serious ? the ace didn't even use his flashlight to save anyone he just followed me around and clicked the flashlight into my face and near me till it ran out . The amount of toxic moves these 2 players did is just too much for my mental health.

Being toxic is a choice just play the damn game if you escape good for you , you're a good survivor but don't bully killers every second.

What's funny is that * strategy * ends the moment you open that exit gate but they didn't want to leave so to avoid tea bagging I just moved away from the exit gates and waited them to leave but they chased me and forced me to chase them to the exit gate and every second of it they did toxic moves and what's even worst the post game chat..

Quite honestly, teachers need to do something about bullying in schools and managers need to do something about bullying in the workplace.

Bullying in an online pvp only game? If you find it bad for your health then simply find something else to play. There is a number of feel good online games out there. Otherwise I would simply suggest that you shrug it off.

  • What? I'm happy. Also a killer main, so... :)

  • If you are getting that many hooks with Bubba without camping and with an even spread, either you are still playing with lower skill players (Bubba is an effective newbie stomper), or you are God Bubba.

Personally I can't consistently do well with him unless I camp.

that applies to every single killer, not just bubba, we obviously will run away from the killer if they are near us, you're telling me it's super fun to have a surivor infront of you and dont do a single chase and down them in 1 second? im sure if we all spawned on the hook it would also be super fun for you.

The very basis of this game is to find a survivor and kill them, but apparently when you have actual information on where they are, a literal trace of where they are heading is boring, ok.

Well. Seems like you are just being purposely obtuse, which is a shame.

Since you are simply using hyperbolic arguments I will just clarify my meaning. No, I do not enjoy potato survivors that give me easy downs and kills. I enjoy chasing as much as the next killer. Running away when the killer is still 8+ seconds away and then vanishing into the bush or running to a double window tile is not partaking of a chase, is refusing to interact with the killer. It's also smart and efficient and a great way to win for survivors. Still dull.

Point clarified, I do not expect you to answer sensibly though, so, toodles, and may your pallet always strike true. And first!

Wait so, we are supposed to stay super close from Bubba when hes a fast as fak boi? We run to gain some distance and find a pallet or something because once he's in a good possition tocharge the chainsaw is pretty much game over for the survivor, if you are caught in an open area you're doomed, so yeah, I dont see how you'd expect the survivor to stay close to you when he realises you're there?

Agreed. Like you said. Hold W is the current meta against Bubba. Is efficient and the smart thing to do. It's also mind numbing boring for the killer. But the survivors don't factor the killer's fun into their strategy, do they?

So why the survivors expect the killers to entertain them? See the problem there?

My simple solution is to not play Bubba anymore unless I'm the mood for some camping. Instead I either play to win with strong, "boring" killers, such as pyramid head, artist, plague or spirit stacked with 4x Gen slowdown. Or play to goof and BP farm with torturer pinhead, pallet surprise wraith or get off my porch trapper.

Haven't found fun builds for nemesis, Sadako or blight sadly.

What would you consider a fun build for those, including BBQ, for BP?

  • So can I dump people in the car compactor while playing as wraith? Maybe make it an achievement xD

No? Ok. Can I collapse a bookcase on top of the killer in RPD library?

  • You kidding? I'm having massive fun with pinhead using lethal pursuer, BBQ, plaything and pentimento. Chain hunt up almost all the time and survivors running around like headless hens trying to find all the totems and wrestle control of the box. Priceless.

But yeah, kinda odd to see a survivor main talking about how the killers are not amusing them.

I mean I can't even play Bubba without camping because all I see from the survivors are scratch marks 8 seconds old. Talk about boring.

  • Fan of the franchise, so yeah I would love to see him.

  • Agreed. Pinhead's voice lines hinder my gameplay because I keep letting the survivors pick up the box and call me :l

On a side note, considering Pinhead's eternal torture theme, it seems fitting that you suffer when playing against him.

  • Only when having some me time on the basement with Bubba

  • Well on survivor window of opportunity.

    On killer definitely BBQ

  • I think it would be cool. Make it gimmicky but useful and make him work for. Like others said, one time pick ups that drop on the map whenever he gains a tier (by helicopter perhaps)

Rocket launcher: can swap between two modes, long range fire and forget on generators or free aiming. On impact creates an AoE explosion (10 meter diameter). Generators within explosion loose 20% progress, start regressing and can't be worked on for 20 seconds. Survivors within explosion become broken and remain so until the next time they are hooked (wounded survivors are not downed, they simply become broken). They also gain hindrance and a visual disorientation for 3 seconds. The nemesis is immobile when readying and firing the launcher, sound cue on long range missile approximation.

This would make it an easy to use tool for instant advantage, but not insta win chase or easy down.

Flamethrower short range AoE cone attack (similar to doctor?). Upon use the stream follows the nemesis red stain for 3 seconds then depletes.

The stream may go over low obstacles and vaults but not walls. The first survivor hit is downed and put in the burning state. Other survivors hit by the attack simply gain burning.

Burning: embers cling to your skin and clothes revealing your position and spreading to those who touch you. Last for 130 seconds, burning survivors within the nemesis terror radius have their aura revealed. Survivors who interact with you gain burning status. Special rule on hooked survivors, when hooked and after 5 seconds, if the nemesis is within 18 meters of you, burning timer advances 10x faster.

Anytime the nemesis is carrying the flamethrower it has its speed reduced to 110%, no readying or firing slowdown.

Very powerful ability that can turn a bad situation or put the survivors in a difficult position, but difficult to use, with potential to be wasted completely if outmaneuvered by the survivors. Picking it up and slowing yourself down at the wrong moment might very well cause you to lose the game.

  • Nah. As a killer main I can definitely tell SWFs are just fine. Problem comes from the fact that there are 3 game modes when there should supposedly only be 2. So they balance the game for 2 of them (solo survivor and killer) and ignore the other (swf on comms).

I mean I do not play survivor if I can avoid it, but if I did and have the option to play with others I definitely would prefer that than solo.

Nerfs are not the solution. Reducing the capability of survivors to progress on their objective is even worse (seriously, add 10 seconds to Gen repair time and mid skilled solos will have NO CHANCE).

No, the only solution is to close the gap between solo survivor and SWFs on comms. Then balance around the premise that everyone has the option to communicate, swf or not.

And it would be the easiest of solutions. Adding built in communication for solo survs HAS to be easier than trying to balance the game in its current condition. Voice chat is a no-no because language, but definitely a robust information sharing system. Maybe even the option for survivors to add points of interest everyone can see (limited) or reveal the aura of the killer or their own on demand (with a hefty cooldown). Something that can actually match the amount of information you could get from having voice comms.

    Then balance.

  • Definitely pyramid head. 2 mid rarity addons... That might as well not use because when you don't have them it will mess with your range perception.

I just got used and play him addonless and in the bloodweb I just focus on perks, moris, rotten branches and BP bonus. Fortunately he is so awesome he doesn't even need the addons to bully the survivors.

  • Oni and legion. Keeps everyone wounded and oni gets permanent fury. Oni and wraith for the same reason, with wraith sucker punching everyone and pressuring gens.

On the flip side, I play on a very uncomfortable couch that's 20 years my senior and is also too small.

I would trade my couch for a semi-comfortable chair in a heartbeat.

Ouch. I feel you. When I was younger and poorer I used to play in one of those plastic chairs you often see in restaurants. Definitely not the way to go. Playing comfortably is definitely a must for me if I intend to actually enjoy my gaming session

  • I play laid back on a really comfortable couch. I'm just that kind of gamer. I will trade the precision and customization options from K&M for the comfort of couch gaming with a controller without a second thought

  • You assume everyone camps out of frustration and that deep down they don't enjoy it.

I do believe that is the case for some, but probably not for most. Personally I don't really camp much during a normal game, but sometimes... You just want to take someone to the basement as Bubba, put some Bach and chill while you check DBD forum. I find this done occasionally to be very enjoyable.

There is also the fact that this game's particular community has largely developed an antagonistic behavior that equates screwing the other side to having fun. I think a lot of hard campers truly enjoy sticking it to the survivors and that either having one to be abandoned by their mates or trashing all four's games is a victory for them.

Telling them that they don't camp because it's bad for them is like asking survivors to not teabag or flashing click. Both behaviors are inefficient and often detrimental to the achievement of the actual objective of the trial, but that's not the point for them.

In short, logic cannot dissuade campers. It's a valid play style and a lot of people enjoy it.

  • I think one of the problems, for what I have been able to see is that the whole "when all players have similar skill, you get a draw" it's a bit of a lie.

When I have been stacked with 4 survivors that seem to have roughly the same skill as me (I outplay them, they outplay me, I can reliably catch them within reasonable time frames) I get 1k or 0k. That's definitely a lose for me. This is because the survivors have enough tools to individually outmaneuver the killer. It would seem that the only way for a killer to reliably get 3 or 4 kills is to have less skilled survivors mixed up

  • Huh. I run a ye Olde rx580 and a ryzen 5 3500x and I barely touch 50% usage on either at 60 fps max everything. However before I had a somewhat older, but still very capable A10 4 core 4.0 processor and it started to give problems with games and software it didn't before and should not. Turns out the mobo's socket was already faulty (10 years old fm2 socket)

If I were you I would run nzxt cam to see what's causing trouble. Memtest and hwinfo also can help identify issues with memory or gpu.

  • Something that helps me when I feel that way is to use perks to actually change my approach to gameplay. Change your perks to strongly bias your efforts. For instance a full chase loadaout with no slowdown or info or anything and just chase people around, nevermind the win, just chase. Or pentimento, plaything, thrill of the hunt and hoarder on pinhead and just literally torture the survivors while spouting quotes.

  • Crouching/teabagging for all killers. Give Ghostface and pig an unlimited flashlight to compensate and let them blind hooked survivors

  • @TransverseCaster said:

Give a quick chat menu with fart option.

Then spirit finds you because of the noise xD

  • I do love it when they place their CoH smack dab in the middle of my 3 Gen though XDDDDD.

    Seriously

  • I love playing plague, but even I have to admit that the free heals the survivors get from drinking from the coolaid fountains is even better that CoH. Sometimes it downright makes me loose a game. I sincerely don't see why it's that way.

Sure, make it remove infection and heal an already broken survivor, but don't make it heal a survivor that's only partially infected but wounded from basic m1

  • Pumpkin head.

    Maybe wishmaster?

And the thing. That one's scary

  • Thanks for all the feedback. I think I might just go with clown then :)

  • I'm sorry I'm a bad survivor.....

  • Well, since you mentioned being merciful and I don't necessarily equate letting survivors escape as mercy, I think I'm fairly merciful. I normally play to win, however in certain instances I will modify my standard kill everyone behavior.

An early disconnect can have two outcomes. If the remaining survivors are competent then no change, they can do it without mercy. Maybe.

If they are clearly struggling, then I'll hit them hard, then slow down. Let them get some gens done before resuming the hunt. On this time I will usually chase whoever volunteers or whoever I find first but I will take it easy, let them stun me, etc.

Another instance is potatoes. I will very specifically not let them go, as this is not a mercy, that would only boost their MMR and that won't do them any good, however I will play slowly. Give them opportunities to practice basic skills like looping, pallet stunning, rescuing, etc, without being too punishing. When we are down to one Gen I'll kill them all.

Both approaches have the advantage of also letting me rack up BP, so I don't have a problem.

I will only let someone go if they very clearly let me know they want to go and give me a gift, as they might be attempting some challenge and as main killer that sometimes has to do these annoying survivor challenges, I can relate.

  • Spec ops claudette. Because it's probably scared.

  • I actually agree with this. The static effect that covers her already limited FOV is moderately annoying and an actual deterrent for using the demanifested state on low visibility areas.

In tall grass and corn especially, where you need to keep track of the slightest of movement on your screen to keep moving on the right direction, the extra visual noise the effect brings has made me take a wrong turn quite a few times

But I do think there may be some ST keys left from people who bought a lot of them to sell them after it's gone.

Also sadly, I own the game through the epic store platform, got it when it went free.

I don't think it even has a code redeeming feature XDDDDD.

For info - Stranger Things is still available on PS and Xbox on the physical Nightmare Edition.

Old rank system. MMR is not the way.

Fog and colours - the reworked maps are fine - only more fog and darker colours for more spooky moods. + more wheater effects.

Thanks for the info. Sadly I don't own a console. I play on pc :l
