Honestly they did change it, but made it worst by doing it.
Before the change OoO would only activate if the killer and survivor would look at each other when outside the tr.
Then they changed it to what it is right now, survivors get info regardless if the killer looks at you or not.
Making it perk with zero counter as killer unless you play a stealth killer.
On freddy it is even worst if they never wake up they have infinite info, cause it will show your aura regardless of how close you are.
So no mindgaming there and the only 2 things you can do is to either leave them alone and ignore them (which is gonna be a problem when all 4 are using it tho, which is painful to deal with i can tel you) or brute force your way trough everything.
But by doing that will cost you so much time, that mmwhen you get 1 of them the game is over or close to be over.
Nope, it always activated when the surv looks in the direction of the killer, it was never a requirement for the killer to do the same.
But this would actually be a favorable nerf to the perk, imo. If it only activated when both look at each other, it would weaken the information gain (which is much needed, esp when used in swf) and add a counter for the killer. To not overnerf it, we could still keep the icon flashing whenever the surv looks into the killers direction, but the aura is only shown if the killer is facing the user.
I had another suggestion for adjusting ooo some time ago: Only the obsession gets the ooo effect. If you are not the obsession and have this perk, tough luck, your perk is useless. If the killer can still see you I'm not sure about. This would prevent multiple ooo auras at the same time and adds some more interaction to the obsession switch mechanic. Killers could rob the ooo user his aura by getting DS stunned or using Nemesis / Furtive Chase. Survivors could get it back by using For the people. I think that would make some nice dynamics.

I mean evading the killer is a part of the objective. While I find that gameplay boring, it is a part of the survivor objective.
It is no more "abusable" than someone who only chases till so far. Same holding the game hostage result. You are not letting it end.
Evading is fine as long as there's still someone working towards the goal, doing the gens to get out. But when multiple surivors do not touch a gen for several minutes, thats not "part of objective", since you cannot get out this way (as a team). Thats taking the game hostage, since the killer has no means in this scenario to finish the game regularly.
When a killer refuses to chase someone but prefers to protect his gens, thats still working for his objective, hindering survs to escape. It is not taking the game hostage, because the survivors can still work towards their objective, even when it is more or less futile. The killer has no way to block all three gens totally, you can always work on one of them. The survivors can finish the game, whether they live or die is not of importance.
The whole "taking game hostage" can be watered down to an easy rule of thumb: If the only way for you to get out of a match is to DC, your opponent is taking the game hostage against you.
Using an actual infinite loop against the killer for an extended amount of time is taking the game hostage, obviously (no longer present in the game, luckily).
Multiple survivors just hiding without doing anything is taking the game hostage, since the killer has no way of finishing the game (neither killing nor letting them escape).
A killer body blocking the last survivor in a corner without hitting is taking the game hostage, since the survivor has no way to escape or die (cannot even move). If EGC is already ticking, it is NOT taking the game hostage, since the game will end eventually.
A killer slugging survivors and refusing to hook them may be scumy, but not taking the game hostage, since the surv will eventually bleed out.
A killer only protecting gens and not chasing is not taking the game hostage, since the survs still have the possibility to let themselves be killed to get out of the match.

Iron Maiden together with both Shadow Dance Addons on Wraith, THAT is hilarious. You can open that lockers so damn quick ^^.

You know what is really stupid about OoO ? The perk icon light up when you look in the direction of the killer, even if they are Undetectable. So you can actually still use it like a long range Spine Chill against killers that are supposed to be the counter and risk of using the perk.
This exactly. It totally shouldn't activate the icon when no aura is shown, thats just stupid and totally contradicts the "counter" to ooo.

From my experience the friend requests are easy to miss when you ingame, but maybe I should have tried it.
Yep, can be missed easily, but the try is free, so why not. If the killer sees it, great you can help him. If not, it's essentially their missed opportunity, not yours.

I had the same experience this weekend, I wonder if we had the same players but in my case it were two Neas, so probably not. You can't message the killer on steam (and they gave up after 15 minutes) but I recorded and reported them, but with the bad report system we have at the moment I'm not sure if something is going to happen.
The killer had given up after some time, the Neas were urbaning around in an indoor map, so no chance.
You can message the killer if you send a friend request and he accepts it (given you both are on steam, of course).

You did the right thing, to be honest. I may be a Survivor main, but even I hate Blendettes. Seriously, worst character ever. Every time I see them as Killer, I literally have to up my monitor's brightness by like 200, and use a useless perk like Predator to properly see where they run off to.
Before the killers got locked in lobby, you could switch to Freddy, since sleeping survivors gat a blue/white outline and cannnot hide efficiently. Sadly thats no longer possible. Does predator really help against that? I would say Bloodhound, Stridor or Whispers are better picks in case of Blendettes ^^.
-
For killer: Is it addicted if I play BBQ with every killer in every round? I just need them juicy BP, otherwise I would happily swap it out for something else, e.g. Thrilling Tremors. Often times I do not really get any benefit from the BBQ auras anyway. Another pick would be Pop, which I also usually play with every killer in every round. And often miss it if i swapped it out for other builds.
For survivor: I wouldn't say addicted, but recently I got quite dependent on Spine Chill and Kindred. We usually play survivor as a two-man swf, so the info from kindred is really appreciated (knowing when to unhook and when not). And I prefer facing stealthy killers with Spine Chill, so ...

Oh, boo hoo. Give me a break. I have never had a game like that in my life. Not as a Killer, not as a Survivor. However much I tried to "ninja around the map" either alone or with a friend to attempt great escape, we still tried to do generators (because we were working together in the first place) but even if we didn't, the Killer would've still found one of us. Must be just the trash way I play, although from the looks of it it still would've been trash if I tried to play the hiding game, eh?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1585174#Comment_1585174
If they're sweating off their balls to get that 4k, instead they should just AFK and go watch YouTube or something in the meantime. That's what I would do, instead of complaining about something I've personally literally never experienced, but 90% of people here somehow have and it being a "serious issue" (Red ranks, by the way). Seriously, what's gonna happen if you don't get a 4k? Ruin your precious 2 win record?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1584726#Comment_1584726
Up votes mean that people agree with you. Shouldn't you be happier or something? You got more than I did!
I had exactly such a game maybe a week ago. Playing with two blendettes, and as soon as I was dead and they were the only left, they refused to do any gens and crouched around the map the whole time (with urban, of course), for more than 15 mintues. Eventually I befriended the killer and tried to tell him where they were hiding, it still took quite some time until they were finally sacrificed (bc. I could only messge him).

I have a solution its called whispers
So it's killers fault then, he choose the wrong perks? Not the survivors, who refuse to do their objective, which clearly violate the game rules and is a bannable offense?
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
So like when killers refuse to commit to a chase when they have a 3 gen ‘strat’?
Deciding between chase or gen control is perfectly fine, thats not refusing to do objectives. Both are the killers objectives, killing survivors and protecting gens.
If two blendettes are urban evasioning together over the map for like 15 minutes and do not even touch a gen this whole time, always hiding whenever they hear a heartbeat, thats clearly refusing to play the game and thus a bannable offense (had that kind of game a week ago, i was dead already and watched them the whole time). They are only doing this to get the killer to DC. Do we really have to argue if that is not ok? Just common sense and dignity tells you that such behaviour is and should not be tolerated.

Novel idea: don’t let survivors finish gens? I’m not saying that to sound like a dick. If you’re routinely getting to EGC, perhaps figure out where you can improve
I usually play well enough to not get into EGC, at least not with all four, so no worries. I can still point out that the effect of DS is busted when the gates are (nearly) opened, right?
I was responding to someone else, who argued that DS is equally strong during end game as typical killer end game perks (noed or bloodwarden). Which I disagree with, DS is way stronger, since it nearly always allows you to escape freely, as long as you hit the skillcheck. Apart from the skill check, you need not do anything to get the effect, the effect is universal, as long as you still have it when hooked.
With Noed, it must remain active, you must find and hit someone, get them to a hook which MAYBE sacrifices him. So there's a big IF, but for sure no guaranteed kill. Sure there are instances where Noed carries hard and turns a 0k into 4k. But thats really rare, and requires some heavy blunders from the survivors. Noed is just not capable to constantly grant you more sacrifices, unlike DS which nearly always grants you an escape during end game.
Bloodwarden is even weaker than noed. First of all, survivors often 99 the gates, so you can't trigger it until opening the gate yourself, and just open it when all can get out. So there's a good chance you do not even get its effect at all. Even if its active, you need something like noed to really fasciliate it (like downing all four near an open gate). If the survs are really all together, that is. And EVEN THEN the time usually is not enough to hook more than two people, so the others can crawl out. The only way to turn a 0k to 4k with bloodwarden is activating it late enough that the entity auto-sacrifices all due to the timer. But this requires you to play in a special, recognizable way (slugging without reason / chasing an injured without hitting) so the time gets by until you can activate bw. Aware players will recognize that and leave before you can hook. Thats also far away fomr the universal free escape DS can provide you.

And what's wrong with that? It's just a good end game perk, just like killers have. Did you forget about NOED and Blood Warden, which have very powerful effects only during end game?
DS is a free escape during endgame, with literally nothing the killer can do to stop it. The only small hope would be the surv. messing the skill check up, but that usually does not happen.
Noed does not give you a free sacrifice. You still have to find, hit and hook them. If they are not on death hook, they even can get out (e.g. with DS). And thats only when the totem still stands.
Bloodwarden can give you "free sacrifices" due to EGC killing them. But that is way, way, way harder to pull of than a DS hit. And it's also obvious, since you need to fool around while the EGC timer is running.

The main problem with the Keys for Killers is that the latter lose a lot of opportunities to get Bloodpoints and Emblem points leading to small Bloodpoints and depips being the main reason of Killer's frustration.
There is a concept to rectify this:
If one Survivor escapes through the Hatch and Exit Gates are not opened, the Killer will get:
- 700 Bloodpoints towards the Brutality Category which is equivalent to succesful basic attacks and one destroyed Pallet.
- 1000 Bloodpoints towards the Deviousness Category for protecting the Exit Gates from being opened.
- 1100 Bloodpoints towards the Chaser Category as the compensation.
- 700 Bloodpoints towards the Sacrifice Category which is equivalent to "Hooked" event granting 500 Bloodpoints plus 200 Bloodpoints.
- The Killer can't get more than 8000 Bloodpoints in one of the Categories.
Additionally, the Killer will get:
- as much points towards the Devout Emblem he would get for hooking and killing this Survivor. The max possible quality of the Emblem in this case is Iridescent.
- as much points towards the Malicious Emblem he would get for hanging this Survivor on the hook and injuring him.
- as much points towards the Chaser Emblem he would get for hitting this Survivor one time and chasing him for 1 minute.
If more than 1 Survivor escape through the Hatch when Exit Gates are still not opened, the Bloodpoints and Emblem points are multipled by the value equivalent to the number of leaved Survivors.
Bonus Emblem Points cannot provide Killers with more than 1 pip if more than 2 Survivors escaped through the Hatch.
This imo would almost completely solve the problem of Killers sugging for the 4k due to no reward existing for doing it. Additionally, Keys will not be that butthurting because the Killers will get appropriate compensation for witnessing this.
My main problem with hatch escapes due to keys, esp. multi-man escapes, is the unfairness of this siutation. That the survivors can weasel out when the killer finally got the upperhand in the match. And there's nothing they can do when the survs stop doing gens and searching for the hatch instead, bc they have a key for it. The solution for this is not giving the killerbonus BP or emblems, that doesn't make it less unfair. The proper solution would be to disallow multi man hatch escapes until all gens were powered (so the achievement is still doable).
The same applies to moris btw. Bonus BP or guaranteed safety pip when the killer plays a mori does not increase the enjoyment either. Thats why moris should be reworked as well instead of band-aid fix some BP gains on it. But thats another topic, obviously.

I have yet to make an assumption about you - Everything I have said has been in direct response to your words. And, I would like to point out, that I ignored a topic that you opened, because I do not care and it has little to do with the topic at hand - namely, facecamping and noed.
In addition, I genuinely cannot trust you with any form of reasonable discussion given how you introduced yourself. Why would I even bother when you have clearly shown you would rather attack my character in your opening sentences before getting to anything else. The only reason I am even replying to this is on the off-chance you were simply having a bad day and will take this to heart the next time you see someone and have a massive knee-jerk. After all, I only said that NOED was the problem and that the community has come up with numerous ways to fix it.
Then a certain individual decided to attack me, straw-man, tell me what I think and how I am wrong and imply my opinion doesn't matter, and introduced a completely different topic with which to "discuss" under the idea that I would trust someone like that to be reasonable.
Please, take what happened here into consideration and don't attack someone's character for quite literally no reason as your way of introducing yourself and your ideas.
It's nice how you are taking the high ground here (the very thing you called me out for in your second response, btw) and yet you were the one being extremely hostile against me in your first reaction. Yes, my initial "attack" was stupid, I said sorry for that, I even apologize for that again. But that won't matter. You clearly have shown in all the responses that you are not willing to accept anything i bring forward to apologize in this matter (I feel I could offer you my first born child and you would still not be satisfied), you did not bother to tone down your totally over-the-top first response (let alone apologize yourself or even acknowledging it) or engage in further discussion (you brought the solution up about Noed removing, not me, and i responded to that, which is totally in the scope of this topic, imo).
"Please, take what happened here into consideration and don't attack someone's character for quite literally no reason as your way of introducing yourself and your ideas."
Yes I will. But I demand the same from your side! You did also attack me (hard) without further knowlegde apart from my initial sly comment. And furthermore, at least from my perspective, you showed quite some hypocrisy in your responses. But since clearly I'm the bad guy here, my view must be void, so let's just drop the issue here. You are right in everthing, I am wrong in everything, you are the epitome of righteousness, and I'm just a stupid subhuman for not seeing that earlier (This two sentences are obviously sarcasm!)
To come back to the topic one last time:
I can see that a face camping bubba with Noed / bitter murmur is frustrating and takes relatively low effort from the killer to perform well (meaning killing many, BP and emblems will always be bad this way). But I think it's really rare to encounter this, mainly bc. it's a boring experience for all, but esp. for the killer. Yes there are some mean spirited players out there who do this constantly, but for most killer players it's just not enjoyable enough to do this 24-7. So overall it's a very rare situation which does not need some "fixing", imo. There are many other equally frustrating playstyles more common we should look at first, e.g. tunnel-moris, 5 gen slugging.
Fixing this issue by removing the problematic perk (Noed) just to break the combo might be the easiest solution, but surely not the best one. This approach would give us a template for "fixing" other problematic combos the same way, e.g. DS/UB. You can predict that players will demand a similar treatment to other combos if one combo is destroyed this way, and it would be hard to justify the removal of one perk to break a combo, but not the other.
So instead of removing the perk, change it conditions in a way that the combo gets weaker or is destroyed. I wrote about a Noed rework idea in a prior post, which would make it unusable if the killer only face camps two survivors during all hook states (which should be enough time to do all gens and leave).
Another thing to consider is perk counterparts of the other players side. In this case, many players see Noed as some form of counter to Adrenaline. So if Noed would be removed, it likely would get bad vibes from the players if Adrenaline isn't adjusted as well. Of course the devs to not need to take this approach, but I would say it is recommended to do so to "keep the spirit" with the players.

No, I don't regret a single word I wrote. I dislike people like you that make assumptions, strawman and put words into people's mouths. Take a reality check before you tell me what I think, what I use or how I play.
Edit: And don't try to take the high road and call out my manners - You quite literally lied about what I said and called me biased because if it.
Who of us is making assumptions now? I did make one assumption, which I acknowledged and said sorry for. I certainly did NOT tell you what you ahve to think or hwo to play, thats an assumption and strawman from your side.
And I can totally call out your manners if you go totally overboard with it:
"whattabouting prick" (name calling), "stop being immature" (assumption / condescending), "THERE ARE MORE THAN JUST YOUR PROBLEMS" (I do not even say or imply somthing like this), "stop being childish" (see above), "dislike people like you that make assumptions, strawman and put words into people's mouths" (assumption about my intentions from a single sly comment of mine), "Take a reality check" (condescending).
Quite some rambling for a single incident in which I implied your biasedness (my only fallacy in this whole "discussion", btw). I even tried to bring it back to the topic, TWO TIMES, but you totally ignored that. So to put it with your very own words:
"you could stop being childish stay focused on the issue at hand, thank you."
-
Manners my friend. You can point out my whataboutism (which you are absolutely correct with btw) without calling me names! I just had a feeling you are one of them who sees everyhing the killer has as problematic and every problematic thing the survivors have as totally fine. Sorry for that. Btw, I do not have a problem with DS/UB, so it's certainly "NOT JUST MY PROBLEM" you are claiming I wrote about.
The thing is, you wrote "The solution is easy - take away the biggest problem perk in the killers arsenal.". If you want to remove Noed, which I wouldn't really mind, you have got to do something about Adrenaline, bc they are some kind of counterparts. Also, just taking something away bc there is an unfavourable edge case where it is "abused" is a pretty bad solution, imo. To come back to DS//UB example, taking away one of them to remove the combo would be pretty stupid as well.
-
@MadLordJack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1575157#Comment_1575157
You mistake "hard" for "unreasonable," and "urgent" for "difficult to solve." The solution is easy - take away the biggest problem perk in the killers arsenal. There's literally dozens of ideas that keep getting floated around for what NOED could do. It's not hard to change a few values around. It really isn't. However, it's against the Devs policy because... Honestly, there's no legitimate reason. It's just against company policy.
So Noed-Bitter murmur combo is problematic, but DS-Unbreakable is totally fine? Thats some nice bias, don't you think?
But whatever, remove Noed, but don't forgot to remove Adrenaline as well. Or lets rework both:
Noed: For every hook you do you get a token. During end game, you can insta-down one survivor for the expense of three tokens. Tokens are not spent when an injured surv is downed. That would give you at most three downs, and prob. no extras effect for face campers, since they should get at most two hooks. I would say you could even throw the hex part away, since you would have to work for your noed. BUT, the issue with every skill based noed rework is, the better you perform, you lesser you need noed at all.
Adrenaline: Get either health state or sprint burst, but not both.
-
@MadLordJack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1575073#Comment_1575073
The main problem here wasn't the facecamp - it was the facecamp into NOED. Sure, if someone's facecamping then you can do gens and leave, but even the "Do BoNeS" excuse doesn't come into play. You don't have the time. It takes a free kill, and doubles it. THATS the real issue.
So cheap two kills, yeah. But thats still not against any rule. The killer won't get much points or pip, you likely won't get much points or pip, it's essentially like a red mori game with a tunnel-mori killer. Or a bit lika against EW3 Tombstone Myers. The latter two take a bit more skill though, i give you that.
I still think this is not an urgent issue, since it's still very rare. Since the thread is about "no counterplay", let me point out what you could do in this situation:
The noed totem would be top priority, but you do not have the time to cleanse totems before and surely not after finishing a gen, since bubba can see you with bitter murmur. So you should try to play against the latter. All but one could hide in locker while the last one pops the final gen. Bubba will only see this one and chase him. If lucky, he can juke him with the aura, distortion could help (if there are still tokens left), or using a head on play (killer sees them going into the locker and heads there). The other(s) would be needed to open gate.
Sure, no hard counter, but there's still some things you can do if you are assume that the face camper likely playes bitter murmur and noed.

Rarity doesn't confer non-issue status.
Not on its own, yes. But rarity together with impact. If a rare situation is actually game breaking, it needs to be considered. But a face camping bubba is surely not, thats not a bug / glitch, no bannable offense, it's just an unfavored playstyle. So as I said, it's rare to play against a bubba face camping from the start, its extremely rare to play against a player that ALWAYS face camps with bubba, and on top of that, the player is not even doing anything wrong.
The op more or less asked for a technical solution to prevent the extremely rare all-the-time face-camping bubbas from playing the way they are doing. And thats exactly the non-issue I'm seeing. I already doubt that there is even one player always playing face-camping bubba on a regular basis, bc thats just extremely boring and a waste of time.

@Brhoom said:
Before this thread is spammed with ''do gens'' I ask you to read my post.
Let's imagine a scenario, 4 SWF vs a camping Bubba.
1- First chase ends just as the first gen is finished.
2- Bubba hooks and is facecamping, so the hooked survivor tells his teammates to rush gens.
3- A survivors takes 120 seconds on the hook to die.
4- A gens takes 80 seconds so that means 3 gens were done.
5- As the last gens is done Bubba is free again, but both NOED and Bitter Murmur activate and Bubba now has 10 seconds of aura reading plus NEOD.
This means Bubba can AT LEAST guarantee a 2k.
And this is if he goes against a really good SWF team.
Yes, all Bubbas who want to facecamp run both BM and NOED, these two aren't unusual perks to be equipped by them. Also, Monstrous Shrine and Blood Warden show up from time to time to guarantee even less time to finish gens.
What is the counter to this?
No, They don't care that they depipped
No, they don't find this boring and enjoy getting 3k-4k every match.
No, ''doing gens'' isn't the answer and you can't ''do bones'' either since there isn't enough time, and with Bitter Murmur is a guarantee 2k.
Imagine this with Solo Que? EZ 4k.
Imagine if the first chase ended early
Imagine if all 3 remaining survivors managed to finish all gens but all of them were on the last gen and NOED activates with Bitter Murmur
No need to imagine since Otz once made a stream about this and all of this happened and he got ez 4ks
Solution?
I believe hooks should change location if Bubba is facecamlping just like Pyrimad Head, maybe if all gens are finished it then hooks don't teleport for him.
What other solutions do you think can solve this?
I do not see the need to "solve this", honestly. Playing against a face camping bubba is rare in my experience. Even more rare should be players playing like this ALL THE TIME, just because it is super boring to do so game after game. It may be funny for some rounds, but I assure you there won't be many players doing this in every match. So it's more or less a non-issue, currently.

Imagine calling someone out for "griefing" when they are actually nice to you.

No he has not. If you took the time to play Freddy just once yourself you would have recognized that there is no such thing as mega-lunge, it is exactly the same as every other killer (except Myers in his EW1 or EW3, obvisouly). Thats why my response was actually smarter than you acknowledge, btw.
It looks ridiculous from the survivor perspective at times, yeah, and with latency thats even more extreme. But it's still the same as others killers, everyone playing killer from time to time can assure you this.

They are about to nerf surveillance so this won't work as well.
The synergy is still there while it regresses. I'm really sad they will "fix" this as well, but I've got to admit, that ruin / surveillance with all gens to zero is really busted currently. If you have this with only two survs remaining, the survs have really no reason to start a gen again, since that will point you to their location again. With the fix, they can restart again without being spotted instantly. I think thats actually a healthy change.
Edit: But maybe to compensate this surveillance fix, ruin could be changed slightly so that the gens will continue to regress with normal speed when ruin is cleansed. Thats really a hassle currently, having to kick all prior regressing gens again for your surveillance aurars, when ruin just got destroyed.

Oh my goodness I feel like you guys have never faced Freddy and his go-go gadget arm hits before.
Why do so many complain about Freddy, when exactly the same applies to Hag's lunge as well? She really FLIES at you!

Uh... What perks have had their synergy nerfed? I'm genuinely curious, I cannot remember a single killer perk nerf except Ruin, Hangmans and Gearhead, and they never had synergy with other perks to begin with.
Exactly, I would like to know that, top. I guess he means ruin change which prevents the use of perks like pop, overcharge and brutal (on gen), thats the only removed "synergy" I can think of. But that change gave us the real potent synergy with surveillance! Hangmans was only "nerfed" after PTB, same as Gearhead, but that had nothing to do with synergies.

Namely, why isn't this addon just part of her base kit?
Because advanced Nurse players don't need it and it would distract them without benefit.

I based my decision based on preferences playing the killers and the usefullness of their perks:
KEEP:
Bubba - Always liked playing him, before and after the rework. First killer I maxed out (till 4.0.0), BBQ is a must have (bc of the grind)!
Freddy - Really like playing him as well, esp. since rework. Strong enough to allow using obscure builds and still get good results. Perks are meh, though, only Bloodwarden with some utility in end game builds
Doctor - Same as Freddy, really fun to play, great variety of addons. Perks not so great, besides Monitor.
Pig - Some kind of guilty pleasure, I guess. She's weak, but I still pick her every know and then. Good perks with Surveillance and Make your choice
Hag - Used to hate her when I only could use splinters to play her. Got way better when I finally got her. Usually get great results, just bc. survivors tend to not take me seriously enough. Ruin is nice, Devour can be hella strong (but usually is cleansed before ^^)
Shape - Who does not like Mikey? He's very slow at the start, but when things get rolling he's devastating. Mirror Myers is really fun from time to time (infinte EW3 is lame, imo). Great perk STBFL for M1 killers, PWYF not so relevant anymore since Bubba rework
These 6 were easy picks for me, since they are my goto killers. After that it gets a little more difficult.
Clown - Playing him is alright and fun, but the lack of map pressure often hurts my games. I'm busy all game chasing and downing, but gens fly and i get out without a kill. Feels sad. Perks are great though, with Pop and Bambozzle.
Legion - Playing is alright, there are good and bad games. Discordance is really strong, the other two perks are forgettable.
Ghostface - Can be really strong, but I still struggle with him from time to time, don't play him often. TT is an amazing perk, if some day i do not need BP anymore i will happily switch out BBQ for TT.
Billy - I do not feel very confident when playing billy, and miss the chainsaw to often. From playing preference alone, I would cut him. But his perks are really strong, esp. eworked Tinkerer. I also like to take Lightborn when I see multiple flashlights.
CUT:
Trapper - I like playing him and he's the icon of DBD. But I like to play other killers more and his perks are just okayish. If i had one slot more for keeping, he would get that.
Wraith - I LOVE playing wraith and playing around with his addons! But his perks are just so aweful. Since I base my decision on both, I sadly have to cut my Mr Bing Bong :-(.
Nurse - HATE her with all my heart, have not leveled her after P3. I do not use NC much, Stridor only relevant to Spirit (which is cut as well), Thanato is weak (and removing that would weaken slow down builds on legion or freddy), so nothing that needs to be kept imo.
Huntress - Playing her is alright, but her perks are abysmal similar to Wraith.
Spirit - Play her rarely, okayish perks. Similar to trapper, if I had TWO more slot, she would likely get the one after Trappy boi.
Plague - First killer I'm really unwilling to play somehow. Guess bc. survs tend to not cleanse, which feels frustrating to not be able to use her power (that was before her on fountian by defaut). Perks are good, with Corrupt and Infectious, but the unfun games i had so far with her heavily outshine that.
Demo - Played quite some games with demodoggo, but still struggle hard against coordinated teams, so mostly not very enjoyable to play. Perks are aweful, only Surge with a bit of usefullness.
Oni - Really strong, but often frustrating for me since I miss my strikes. Perks are forgetful, only Nemesis has some utility with other perks.
DS - Hate playing him, hate playing against him, bullsh*t perks. Easy cut for me.
PH - Do not own him, so I can't say anything about playing him. But his perks are also not the best, so he gets cut as well.
-
Although I played this game for more than 2.7k hours, I only managed to get 3 such downs so far. I do not play Huntress regularly, though. It's the only achievement I'm missing, besided the achievements from the SH chapter which I don't own. It's really sad that I likely will never get that one finished, bc I s*ck too much with her :-(.

Myers has other things that you can do with weaker addons, Billy has NOTHNG, unless you like to handicap yourself.
So you say you can only play good with billy when you have red addons?
-
Lore-wise, absolutely Doc! Reading his story in the archive was really sickening for me x.x
Gameplay-wise, I find it difficult to pick one. All killers slash or beat you whenever they can. Maybe Amanda bc of her traps, or legion bc they like to stab you alot.
In terms of playstyles, slugging nurses that just let you bleed out are the most sadistic for me.

meaning it is basically deleted.
Purple was bad enough but iri just means you get to play it once every 10 games if that.
With BBQ and playing successful you can easily get more than 50k in one game, thats usually enough for one bloodweb. So it's more like once every 3 games on average. Why do you even want to play the same every match, esp. when it is a red addon with good reason? I see red addons as a mean to spicy up the game from time to time, not to play with it whenever possible. Also, if you complain that you can't play this addon bc it is iri, do you also complain you can't play inifinte EW3 Myers every game bc it is iri as well? Just being curious ...
-
@Zozzy said:
They ruined stealth billy by making the addon iridescent. so it will hardly ever show up.
I think one red node is guaranteed in each blood web, so you would have a one in three chance to get it with each web. Also, due to the addon rework and changed rarity, older players will have many of those in their inventory. Not so for newer players, of course.

so if it is just 400 euros I will send you my mailing address for the laptop, thanks rich boy /s
400$ is pretty cheap for a new pc or laptop. And it even will be better by magnitudes compared to the 7 years old laptop. Heck, you can even find used pcs/ laptops with better power, maybe only costs you 50 bucks or so. I think we shouldn't cater for players demanding to put ultra low settings so they just can keep the ancient hardware. It will look aweful, potentially be exploitable, and likely hinder major graphics improvments for all the other players. DbD is a fairly recent game, and if you want to play it, you should have fairly recent hardware to play it. If you refuse to buy new better hardware or just simply can't, than tough luck for you, the game will unplayable for you eventually. Deal with it.

I would say there should actually be two of such options:
1.) A forfeit option, if you want to give up the match to the survivors. You would have to perform "bad" to be able to use this option. Meaning not having downed / hooked / killed anyone for an extended time, or it's just always an option as soon as all gens got done.
For example, the killer could just walk to his basement and toggle a switch, which immobalize the killer, shut off the basement from entering (survs can still get out), heal all survs to healthy, open both gates and start a 30 sec timer EGC timer. No player can get additional BP from this point on, except survival points for escape and sacrifice points for killer, in case a surv refuses to run out.
2.) Some means for handling mutliple survivors refusing to do their objective (-> hold the game hostage). Just had a round recently were two blendettes were doing nothing but urban evasioning around the level for 15+ minutes. When the survs do not touch a gen for at least 10 seconds (combined) in like five minutes, and the killer had no interaction with any surv in the same time frame, the entity would help the killer in finding the survivors.
It could be something like revealing their location (killer instinct), showing their aura, giving them crows which only disperse when being chased or doing a gen for like 30 seconds. The crows could also begin to swarm the whole level and give the killer some additional Spies effect, with the survs always alerting the crows even when crouching or with calm spirit. Or if thats still not enough, a timer is started similar to EGC, but gens still can be done and gates not powered automatically. The timer (one minute) will pause if survivors are doing a gen, and totally vanish if a gen is finished. If they don't get a gen done in this time frame, the entity will sacrifice them on the spot, like with EGC.

It's really disheartening to see all these commenters that would rather make our community smaller and more exclusive than bigger and more inclusive. Not everyone can afford to update their computer everytime a game decides to update.
OP uses a seven year old laptop. He should have issues with ANY newer game. With just about 300-400€ he could buy a new pc which totally outshines his old laptop.

"Just cleanse totems" when every totem, even dulls, reveals you to the killer.
OP is right, the only counterplay to that perk is being on comms to get on 2 totems at once.
It's just an aura, not an audible cue like with Thrill. Chances are the killer does not even recognize you are on a totem bc he is busy chasing someone. Just don't cleanse when you hear a TR or can see the killer, and you should be perfectly fine. And IF the killer is so protective for his totems, then do gens. He can't guard all at once.

I really haven't had an issue with him. He seems like the same slow, loopable bubba.
Then you didn't face an experiened bubba comfortable with the new changes ^^. Looping him got quite more dangerous with the changes. Not saying it is not possible, but it got way more difficult.

The Pig is OP, like I said before, her stealth is insane and her rush attack which she can corner with aswell is messed up. Especially when you play on the hospital/theater where there are no open spaces, when you see The Pig it's already too late. And please don't give me the "but it's not instant kill like Myers"
The stealth of Pig is pityful compared to Ghostface, esp. on an indoor map. He can trigger it instantly, no need to crouch like Amanda, he does not lose speed in stealth, can see more since he does not have to crouch, he can insta-down. Yes Amanda can charge, but the roar robs you of any surprise, I managed to dodge the charge multiple times bc of this. GF insta down is completely silent, until it is to late. And then still you might not know where he comes from. GF can grab you from a gen without much of a sound. Amanda has to stand up, which unsheathed her blade, with a very distinctive sound.
Just drop your "Pig is OP" nonsense vendetta. You already made five threads complainging about the same thing, and still no one agrees with you. You are plain wrong. Pig overall is weak. Yes there are good players with her, but that can be said about ANY killer.
-
@Widden
"Can anyone explain to me how the pig is not the most overpowered killer in the game by far. To such a degree that she eclipses all the other killers, and would presumably be played by everyone all the time if she wasnt locked behind a paid DLC"
Nurse can port through walls. Billy, Bubba, Oni, Myers, GF can insta down. Billy, Oni, Freddy have high map pressure.Clown, Freddy, Doc, Pyramid Head have anti-loop tools. Pig has nothing of that, no insta down, no map pressure, no anit-loop potential (she can mindgame with the charge yes, but half of the time you mindgame yourself). All she got is a little stall with her traps, which 90% of the time are gone with the first or seconds try (at least whenever i play her as killer) and rarely kill anybody. Tell me again why this killer is op?
-
Adding heels would change the stance of the models, many animations would have to be redone. Pretty much effort for such a small change.
-
This still allows for three remaining survivors to totally abandon the last gen and search for the hatch. That's the most annoying thing regarding keys, it gives survivor an easy way out when they got outplayed or played themselves out. They should face the consequences then, not have an easy escape route. As long as multi man escapes are possible (outside of powered gates), a proposed chage is not good enough, imo.

You can slug the obsession but if you're playing against a super-tryhard SWF the obsession will be all like TACTICAL DISCONNECT, INCOMING!!!!!!! and DC to shut off your perk once it's obvious you're not hooking the obsession and slugging him to try to keep him alive but off gens. (With OG Dying Light a obsession DC screws the survivors over, which is how the game should be. Quitting a match should never give your team a competitive advantage ever.)
As badly-designed the OG Dying Light was (Kill obsession, 25% debuff on everyone else) I liked how evil the concept was (One survivor is given the gift of fast healing and unhooking, but is marked for death and if he dies, everyone else is punished for the obsession's failure at staying alive) and it was also a hard hit for the remaining survivors.
On a side note, this also means running obsession perks as a survivor is ALMOST ALWAYS a good thing, as almost every single killer obsession perk revolves around keeping the obsession alive in some way or another. The only 2 perks where it's "bad" to be the obsession is Remember Me (Obsession can get the doors, killer gets stacks when hitting you so he's encouraged to tunnel) and Rancor (You're given the gift of seeing the killer's aura after each generator popped, but the killer can insta-down and mori you after the final generator is complete. Even then many killers will ignore the Rancor obsession until the end because they want that mori.)
I'd rather be tunneled out of the game as a Dying Light obsession so I can enter a new match than be slugged in the corner of the map with Knockout for like 90% of my bleedout bar before the killer finally starts hooking me. Both suck, just one is quick the other takes ages.
So what if the obession DC's? Then there are only 3 survs left, making it so much more easier so you don't need the DL stacks anymore. That's my whole point! They don't gat a "combatitive advantage" from that, since loosing a surv is worse by far than gettint rid of DL stacks from it. Esp. since the obsession is not under the effect, so it is extra dumb to dc.
With slugging I meant explicitly not killing the obession of with the last hook. Of course you can hook her twice ...
-
There is so much wrong or misguided:
1.) "shut the game down" Why, the live servers are not used for testing or anything dev related? That would REALLY kill the game.
2.) "too many issues", and then do not really list any (camping and tunneling are intended)
3.) "impossible to play", funny that I played some games yesterday, when it is so impossible
4.) "killers are to OP", maybe play (more) killer and see that this claim is just not true. Or maybe you have to improve your surivvor gameplay.
5.) "broken hitboxes", you list Freddy and BIlly, but not Huntress, for real?
6.) "lag switchers", thats not even possible anymore with dedicated servers
7.) "campers and tunnelers", valid tactics, scummy but allowed, not even very effective if the survs know what they are doing
8.) "only hit high ranks because of the cheap tactics", if they pip up with this, the survs are doing something wrong. Also, just a killer played scummy in your game, does not mean he plays this way ALL THE TIME. A thing that many seem to forget whenever they comlain. The survivors are often not entirely innocent when a killer swicthes to tunneling / camping (hookdiving, toxic gameplay, ...)
9.) "built in Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike", not in the way they are used currently, since BT and DS are played way to aggressively from competent survivors
10.) "immediately taken out of the trial", that only happens with tunnel-moris. If the killer does regular tunneling of a single person, and the chased one is no potatoe, 3-4 gens will be done until the tunneled one is dead. Given the others are doing something useful. Camping and tunneling are not very effective, esp against good loopers, since you do not pressure all other survivors.
11.) "level up the battle pass that I spent my hard earned money on," i wouldn't say 1000 auric cells (10$) are hard earned, but be it. The thing is, you do not need to pay the rift form the start. you can decide at the end if it's worth for you, and get all stuff you reached so far.
12.) "immediately targeted, face camped, and then tunneled" Yes that sucks, but most killers won't play like this, don't claim otherwise, thats just not true. I gotta ask, if you were face cmaped, how could you be unhooked? And if you were, why did your mates not do the right thing, rushing gens and get out? bc thats the way to deal with face campers.
13.) "And after I used my Decisive Strike, I was back to square one." So ds is not even very effective. Why do you want it as base kit then?
14.) "the piss poor excuse of a game" Sure, it's the games fault you were camped / tunneled, not the killer player.

Michaels kill all 4 in teir 3 requires an addon as well
Yep, actually both red addons so you are not restricted by a limited EW3. And you would likley need PWYF, to not be slow as hell. And you need survvivors not doing gens efficiently and feeding you. And dedicated servers not screwing you over in transforming your mori grab into a swing. And you need the survivors to be good sports so they don't deny your mori by jumping into a locker. So many difficulties for getting Evil Incarnate, the Nurse achievement is laughable compared to this (so can get it relatively easily with farming, as others pointed out already).
