  • @Nova_Terra The difference is Nurse can IMMEDIATELY go into another teleport. She doesn't have to wait to FULLY recharge it every miss.

Id happily accept if they just stunned you like leaving frenzy on a missed hit and having to have it fully charged to use, but didnt DEPLETE your power.

  • @liviu1911 I know. Im super happy about it too. Not only because it solves the issues, but because by them changing it to not allow that to happen, it is (not verbally stated) acknowledged that it was NOT being used as intended.

  • @Kilmeran :O are...are you back?? Or did you just want to see the Legion changes and the responses?

  • @liviu1911 Moonwalking isn't an exploit. Moonwalking so that YOU CAN BYPASS THE BLEEDOUT PAUSE, is an exploit.

  • @PigNRun Wow I didn't know about not seeing blood. So in frenzy, they can no longer see blood OR scratches? OOF.

  • @vampire_toothy Ah okay, I still haven't found the actual post about legion so I havent been able to actually see all the changes. But damn..,. I mean with them getting the 5% bonus base speed, it's not a terrible compromise, but losing ALL of your power on one missed swing is gonna be a tough one to get used to.

  • @Delfador Nah, just the legion mains who defended moonwalking to bypass the timer pause as "not an exploit". Normal killers won't care about that aspect being gone as much.

  • @Decarcassor OF COURSE you're supposed to have them bleed out. that's why its called bleed out. You are NOT supposed to have them bleedout while in a chase. which is why Legion now will not have bleedout tick down within their TR. To STOP THE MOONWALKING EXPLOIT.

@Tzeentchling9 I assume the ones mentioned were blade addons. Because while they wont say that moonwalking LEGION is an exploit, because people would assume all moonwalking is (which it isn't), they JUST CHANGED the power to stop this exact thing from happening. Because it was being... say it with me now.... exploited.

  • @vampire_toothy I think you misunderstand. Legion was a 110% killer, NOW they're a 115%. It was increased.

Unless they also edited frenzy speed?

  • @Orion I agree with the losing ALL of your power for a missed attack. Even if they just stuned you for a missed attack, but let you go back into frenzy it would be a little better, but we'll see how it goes in the next few weeks.

I however disagree with the problem of the TR. Id much rather it stop while in the TR period, than have people moonwalking to circumvent the previous timer pause.

  • @benzos That like the other things we've seen that are bannable (including encouraging DCs), they will likely have no repercussions or punishment other than a "talking to about it" only to do it later.

Also, as it's in KYF, its basically hurting nobody and causing no harm or gain. Unfortunately, it is still exploiting a flaw in design to have unintended results leading to an unintended game mode possibility.

  • @DarkWo1f997 Did you just choose to skip over the part about the ranking?

If you worked with the same person every game, you could max out BP, and get 2/3 IRI emblems easy, and pip up every game. You could boost each other to red ranks and never deserve it. Thus creating worse mismatched games at those ranks.

  • It's because Joe was the only one to wear it IRL outside the Entities realm, lore wise.

The only Issue I have is that there is no Prestige for Joe or Susie. Even if it's just a bloody version of their mask to put on Frank and Julie's bodies.

  • Bye!

Good luck wherever you end up.

Even when it's inevitably back here.

    <3

  • @Kiskashi Well these days it seems like that yeah, but I meant in any game or really any situation.

  • @Kiskashi yeah...sorry haha. But with any good idea you have to think IF and HOW it can be abused.

  • @Spacecoconut I let it go. I was commenting on where the posts went and clarifying as to why/how it happened.

That particular response was a false argument towards my responses and points, that I refuted. You agree with the third party, and the false logic, even with the definition and rules posted on this site. Your own post:

    @SpaceCoconut said:

I forgot that they did announce changes to Legion were coming.

This thread is no longer of any use to anyone until we find out what those are.

We can drop it now :)

Answered about the changes. Not the responses I was answering.

If you really TRULY can't understand what I was saying in the first place, and think that that's an okay use of mechanics, I don't really trust in your opinion on the matter of this game as much, so arguing with your further is a waste of both of our time. You won't see the logic if it doesn't match a scenario that you believe to be the correct one, from what I've seen.

I assume the changes this week will solve this exploit epidemic, so we should be fine after.

But not seeing problems for what they are, and accepting them as normal, is what causes things to go downhill faster and worse than they already are.

Tip: If you don't want me to respond to you, don't @ me or direct responses towards me. This is a public forum where people have differing views. So when I see you tag me, I assume it's with the intent to continue the discussion, regardless of whatever words you may use.

    <3

  • @Peanits Thank you for the clarification. Like I said I know its a small group of people who actually don't know and run it because of its intended use, but I was concerned about how it could affect those without malicious intent.

Hearing they're temporary and and are being reviewed individually makes me feel a lot better about it.

    <3

  • I guess calling thins what they are is bothersome to people. I answered my own question.

We can let it go now.

    <3

  • @Kaelum The fact they are having to make changes because its become a problem, doesn't sound to you like it was being, i don't know, whats the term, exploited?

This was in response to your post about misusing the term exploit, which seems to have vanished? Don't know what thats about.

A few of your comments have vanished. Is someone deleting your responses??

  • @spacecoconut The looping "exploit

was more based on hitboxes and actual physics. Being able to get around things faster because you're smaller.

It also was the only thing you could do other than simply run in a straight line and let the (faster than you) killer catch up eventually. It added to overall gameplay across the board.

Moonwalking IS NOT an exploit. You can use it to mindgame. You can use it to be a slick looking Meyers.

What IS an exploit, is using moonwalking, to BYPASS intended game mechanics. A flaw in design.

  • I REALLY like this idea, but the problem would be that if you get a killer that messages you and wants to farm, you could potentially farm 1 mil BP with the same person without playing a real game.

It's a victim-less crime, so to say, but it would still probably be heavily abused.

Not to mention it would be able to play the pip system and boost people.

  • @Bbbrian2013 I would wager the update to legion will be something as to how the bleedout timer ticks during chases. Maybe it will be changed to be TR based, or tick down always, just slower.

But I believe the update is going to be heavily focused on changing the moonwalk exploit meta that people use instead of actually playing the killer.

  • @spacecoconut Considering an exploit is using a mechanic to obtain unintended results to gain an advantage, it by definition is an exploit.

Whether it is bannable or not is another story. And as to the details as to whether it should be bannable, continue reading.

@Kaelum I'm sure those are not the entire quote, and if it is, them saying "cheese" instead of abusing error in design doesn't change the fact that it is exactly what that strategy is. If they don't consider it to be bannable, they should change legions power to tick down during chases, or base it on TR and not the LoS/chase mechanic.

Also if you look at bannable offenses, moonwalking is not bannable. As I said. But what IS bannable is, and I quote the Forum posted In Game rules/bannable list, is:

EXPLOITS: ABUSING BUGS OR ERRORS IN DESIGN TO GAIN A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

Using the chase/LoS mechanic to BYPASS the timer pause is an exploit. Doesn't matter how you look at it.

  • @Kaelum They have said moonwalking itself, is not an exploit. Using it to bypass a timer freeze is absolutely an exploit.

  • Its not that stacking mend times in itself is an exploit.

The problem is that IT IS BUGGED right now and stacking them doesnt just increase the timer, it increases it FURTHER EVERY TIME you apply.

First hit may only be 45 second mend, which is a lot, and a good use of addons. But after the second or third it becomes 5 minutes of mending. THAT is the problem.

  • Mend time combination itself isnt an exploit. The fact that doing it RIGHT NOW because it IS BUGGED causes the mend timer to increase further EVERY TIME you use it, makes it an exploit.

  • @ColgateAdvancedWhite said:

Head on should give the broken status after using it and lasts for the rest of the game. You're using a headbutt through the locker doors and it's so strong it stuns the person on the other side. It should be giving you some permanent head damage

Right? Being hooked should cause you broken all game too since you get impaled. Second hook should be insta death. No one could survive that kind of trauma....

  • I like Ash when he goes into the dying state. One of them is the stereotypical overly high screech of a yell, like a grown man with a house spider kinda thing, and it's hilarious to me.

Its not used to bypass the power. Its used to make the power actually do something. In its current form the Deep Wound effect is near complelty pointless. It does nothing in chases and it does nothing if you let the survivors go because mending is impossible to fail.

I didn't say bypass the power. I said bypass a major part. The part that makes it so it wont tick down during a chase. As in, how the killer was intended.

By Moonwalking AS LEGION, you bypass this safeguard to prevent this exact kind of fuckery. You're not supposed to bleed out if you are in a chase with them. Chasing backwards as opposed to forwards to LITERALLY CHANGE THAT is exploiting a mechanic for unintended results.

  • @Incirion said:

Moonwalking is not an exploit. The killer is literally letting you out of their line of sight to try to chase you. If you can't escape a killer that isn't looking at you, is that YOUR fault, or the killers fault?

You mean killer right behind you. Simply looking backwards?

Moonwalking itself isn't an exploit. Using it to bypass a major part of legions power is, however.

  • @powerbats Right, but there are players who have probably been using this build unknowingly who havent been told about it and can be banned. I'm not saying many people fit that description, but why punish the innocent?

  • Either way, I won't be reporting anyone JUST for using this addon setup. If it is blatantly obvious they're doing it to exploit I'll hit that report button.

  • @sulaiman yes if you use filthy blade and another blade to increase mend, it cumulatively/exponentially (haven sat and actually ran numbers to see which it is) increases mend timer.

so first DW would be like 30 seconds, then a minute or two, then the third application would be upwards of 5 minutes to mend.

They're supposed to add a flat amount to mend timers but when used in this fashion, increase it on top of what is already added every time you apply deep wounds.

Its like it adds another addon to your build every hit.

  • @Detective_Jonathan @powerbats I'm not saying a large amount of people dont know. It's probably, in reality, like 10% of players don't know. But the fact is that there are people that will not have heard about it and may be punished by this blanket ban when we've seen they can simply disable things previously.

Also, as for post game chat, some people leave immediately. Some fo us on consoles have found that many people simply block messages. You cant add them to a group or message them. Even then, most killers would assume youre just being salty and not even believe it.

Its not the majority of players I'm worried about, but the few that do, truly, play the game alone for fun and have no interest in social media or gaming communities.

  • @Detective_Jonathan On the Forums. But we're talking about in game. The people who DON'T come to the forums or Reddit. They will absolutely miss it because they dont come here to begin with.

  • @Delfador yeah.... Good 'ole Dunkmaster Draven.... ugh....

I mean they've disabled map offerings when they were an issue (Ormund) and I feel like i've seen a "we've Identified an issue with x perk/item/addon and it will be disabled until resolved" for exploits before, but I cant remember specifically.

It just seems like a much easier solution would be Disable the blade that causes the exploit and fix it. I mean people will be upset they can't run mend time builds, but it's better than being upset about a wrongly placed ban.

In the scenario that an innocent player somehow performs the exploit how would they know? They just used in game items that were presented to them without a warning. Considering Legion is such a poorly designed killer in the first place it would seem like any prolonged healing would be intentional. You'd have to be very observant to notice a survivor was constantly mending if you didn't know of the exploit.

you would have to hit them 2 or 3 separate times, and then WATCH them mend for the entirety. It's very reasonable to assume Legions don't watch the mend unless they know about it. Most either let you bleed out, or hit you mid mend.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Tell players about the exploit. If someone says they didn't know, report them anyway. If it was a legitimate instance of them using those add-ons, they probably won't do it after someone tells them. A single report most likely won't get you banned. If you do use it many times and get a lot of reports then you can't honestly say "I don't know".

Ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law.

Most players on ps4 have messages blocked. Particularly killers. So trying to message them "hey, that combo is bannable" may never reach them, let alone would they believe it.

And ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law?

Nobody knows it is breaking the law unless they're told it's a law. It's like saying heres this handgun, you can have it. They shoot it at a target, as handguns usually are. Oh but by the way we consider it illegal to shoot the gun we gave you, sorry we didnt say that at first, guess you gotta figure it out! Wait nobody told you? Oh well you didnt JUST KNOW WHAT WE MEANT so you're punished.

If anything this instance would be close to entrapment. Banning people for using something given to them as intended, with results they didnt know would happen or be bannable.

Problem with the law analogy is people have a general understanding of the laws and what is allowed, right and wrong. Just as players do. But when something is decided in a post that not everyone will see, to be a bannable offense but those people were not told of the change, how is it on them to know? How is it their fault that they dont look at the forums every day, JUST to look up new bannable offenses and exploits to avoid.

They were given the blades, they use the blades. How are they supposed to know they're breaking some rule if you've given them the tools to do just that, and for all they know are supposed to go together with no cumulative mend increase.

  • @Tzeentchling9 @DocOctober ahhh so they actually banned people, but it was in reality a slap on the wrist... damn. So the actual abusers didnt even get punished...wow.

  • @Tzeentchling9 Asylum Exploit ban? I dont think I'm familiar with what you're referring to.

  • @Poweas dont get me wrong. I like your posts and general forum presence, I just meant I didnt mean to "talk down" to you as it were. You probably know more than I do XD.

  • @Poweas no, I just meant I would have assumed if I noticed your name that you knew full well what the perks do and I wouldn't have tried to "dumb it down" or give examples how to make it work. I feel like you understand the game pretty well is all Haha.

  • @Orion technically the quiz wanted the answer of Bill, as that's what was put as the correct answer.

But your answer would be the true answer, regardless of how the quiz was setup.

    Is that what I gather?

  • @Poweas said:

@Carpemortum yeah, i could run empathy, but I wouldn't do anything with that. Im talking about just healing in general, if they come to my gen or something.

@Poweas honestly I didnt realize it was your post at first just assumed someone wanted advice haha.

But yeah, I've run botany a bit replacing self care when I feel like trying to heal, and it definitely seemed to help, but it hasnt been in my rotation in a few weeks so I couldnt give min max advice for or against it.

I'd say it's worth trying out for a day or two and see how you feel? It's why my Ash is sitting with Distortion and Empathy. I refuse to be found lol. Plus it helps keep the Bond sandbaggers at a distance.

  • I like botany, but if you want to heal others I'd run empathy. Let's you track them to find and heal them as well as avoid the killer if someone is being chased.

Botany knowledge is a great perk though.

You could replace adrenaline and run empathy/botany and be super healer. Add well make it and nobody leaves injured XD.

    @Trikset

That's what survivors said about old DS. Wonder how that panned--

    Oh...

Again, the problem with MoM isn't whether it's OP or not. The problem is that it's just simply bad game design for the very same reason why old DS was reworked rather than just nerfed -- because it has no counterplay for most of the character list on the killer side.

And no, just 'hit them again' is not 'playing around' the perk. How activating the perk and letting it get its full effect off is considered 'playing around' to you is an enigma to me, but that's not what the term 'play around' implies and is about as useful advice as telling someone to 'just mend' against bugged Legions when mending starts spanning an entire 5 minutes or more to perform.

Full effect also including seeing their aura or having them in one down all game.

But everyone ignores that because SOME people MIGHT pair it with 3 other perks in a 4 man group (<9% of lobbies) and cause an issue. We could do that with a handful of combinations.

Its not as prevalent of an issue as everyone wants it to be.

Head On was a big stink until people had a new perk to argue about/found Head On wasnt as perfect as they thought.

Eventually well have another perk come out and people wont care about MoM, but the new OP perk that let's you heal others twice as fast if you're injured, because you could mix it with empathy and botany knowledge and have super charged medkits.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

This is not a killer vs. survivor issue. A dc hurts the other players, no matter the role they are playing. We need a better compensation for everyone when there is a dc in the match.

No, we need harsher punishments for DC. Make then think about wether they REALLY want to DC out of spite to save 3 mins, or take a 3 hour ban.

  • Changed mine. Even games on the "known issues" list work fine.
