  • "The guy who does balancing doesnt know Leader doesnt affect gens"

That hurts the most. It really shows that they're taking ideas, sticking them on a wall and then haphazardly grabbing and placing then where "they think it works" and not doing actual insightful research.

How do you not know what the perks do, when you're one of the people in charge of changing them and balancing the game...

  • 5 totems. Do bones = no NOED.

Theres no situation except when survivors ignore totems and then get salty.

I'll never understand the kind of sociopath that enjoys it when others are miserable.

I'll never understand the type of people that try to psychoanalyze people based on how they play a video game.

They are on steam achievements. When you look at your own there is an option for global ones.

    https://steamcommunity.com/stats/381210/achievements

Link above so you can see them all without having to do that just in case you are not in steam.

2.4% of killers compared to 4% survivors (now 3.1% compares to 5.3% due to the bug) doesn't actually fit the argument though as the players had different ways to pip over the years which could cause the tiny differnece.

The victory cube was a pip for 2 kills and a double for 4 kills as killer for months while survivor still earned them by getting blood points which was the easiest way to ever rank up.

I also wouldn't say 1.6% isn't exactly a huge number to use as for their argument.

1.6% is a perfectly fine difference when both values are under 5%.

  • Oh man one anecdotal day of good luck.

I still have DCs and toxicity every other game. It didnt fix anything. Stop trying to drive a wedge between the playerbase further.

  • Hooks come back. So it's not toxic.... if anything he should have dealt with whoever kept making noises amd dropping hooks.

It's okay if the Rift wasn't for you, or you found it too grindy, but surely you can share your views without simultaneously insulting everyone who did have a positive experience with it. Also, it's not in some way wicked and immoral for a business to want to make money, which seems to be what you're implying.

I didnt insult anyone, and it is exactly that kind of business practice. Just because you fall prey to it and accept it doesnt make that less true.

Making money is one thing, but when they already have 100+ in dlc, and 10-20$ skins, battlepass isnt a "need to make money", it's an EXCUSE to. If dbd was free to play, or had feasibly attainable on game cosmetics that didnt cost 15$ a battlepass may be more justified as a "way to make money".

What's immoral is trying to prey on peoples FOMO, or hiding EVENT skins behind a paywall, simply because you KNOW people will pay for it and DEFEND a ######### practice because behaviour can do no wrong.

I could have ground out the pass, but I dont want to play dbd for 6-8 hours a day when it takes 20 mins to find a survivor lobby that doesnt get dodged.

Not in this state of the game.

Like I said, anecdotal accounts dont counter other anecdotal accounts. Seeing a bp in multiple games for exactly what it is, however, is easy to figure out.

I never said you couldnt have a positive experience with it, just that those who believe they did, fell for behaviours trick. Period. I'm sorry that you seem to fall into that group.

And if THAT insults you, then you're taking it too personally which means you know I'm 100% correct.

I got to level 70 with 33 days left and I didn't buy a single tier, I think people are exaggerating how hard it is, especially given there is a significant increase of challenges this time around.

Some may grind it out, especially if dbd is all they play or they already play it extremely regularly. But it was always intended to take more time than ever needed or usually played. One anecdotal experience doesnt counter the dozen anecdotal experiences for the other I've seen. I had someone yesterday openly admit they bought 40 or 50 tiers because they didnt want to have to play that much, and could guarantee on day 1 theyd have mascot clown (which btw hes hidden behind paywall like nurses halloween outfit? #########?).

    It's literally working as intended.

And saying challenges are more abundant to help doesnt make the situation better. It only makes the archives look that much worse. They're forcefully tied into these tiers, making people go out of their way for challenges, playing toxic or otherwise, to assist in leveling so they DONT have to spend money. The entire way they implemented it is trash and predatory.

I'm glad you're able to play and grind that much, but a vast majority of peoppe (aka their target) arend or wont. Example, I maxed both smite battlepass tiers with a month left. My buddy who cant play nearly as much still has 50 tiers to go with 3 days or so to do it. He either loses the endrewards, or has to spend 35 bucks to finish it.

A few people able and willing to do it, doesnt justify its implementation. It's still a ######### business practice.

  • The dc auto flags for dc. Period.

As I said when we spoke of dc punishment and people said "what if my net is bad?":

Dont play until it's fixed. Or you know exactly what you're risking.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1024807#Comment_1024807

If you're asking how many games it would take to grind out 10 tiers' worth of XP, the answer is closer to around 120 games on average, or about 20 hours of gameplay (as a very rough estimate). The Rift was never intended for casual players, of course, but it is a serious chunk of added time for anyone.

It was never intended for actual players at all. It was intended for those who cant atop themselves from spending money or grinding out 70 hours a week to make sure they dont "miss out" on something. Hours those people wouldnt normally play, or be tempted to skip with cash. The rift was intended to lure people in and drain their wallets. Just as in fortnite, rocket league, smite, siege, or any other game that has one. Sure some are easier to complete than others, but they all aim to get cash out of you.

  • @Zagrid said:

If you have the characters you can get more bloodpoints. I am not sure how many more but considering you need something like 300mil to max out all the characters now or maybe even more I wouldn’t call it pay to win.

I would just call it scummy.

The entire pass is scummy. It shouldnt take nearly as much xp to level, nor be tied to the archives. Let it be earned through playing and earning xp, at a possible rate without having to play an extra 4 hours a day or spend 50 bucks.

Oh wait. That would go against the ENTIRE reason they put it in. For money.

  • "I still get 2k on big maps and 4k on small".

But this is all games, not just DBD. Not saying it’s “right,” but it’s pretty easy business

Oh I know. It's why I was against it as soon as I saw the idea here.

  • Because theres no ruin if they dont let off a gen.

So take the slight bonus to gens now that ruin is changed, and stack their toolboxes on top.

"Nothing to counter our toolboxes now!" Kinda thing.

  • Yeah it used to be every few games, and 50/50 of "really good nurse", or "garbage nurse".

Now I rarely see them and theyre... mediocre? Decent killers, just nothing that nurse could do better than another killer.

  • D. Depends. I'll try to go in for B, but if I see the killer closer to me than my "target", or closer to me than I am the door, it becomes A. Challenge done.

For both. My friend I play with knows the stakes.

  • Exactly. Do gens.

And if ita a facecamper that LIVES for the 1k camp, well you cant ever make them feel a loss. But you can definitely win.

Sucks for the camped, but it is what it is.

Why in the hell is there only 5 killers challenges and 11 fking survivor challenges, i dont enjoy playing survivor, and being force to play it to do these challenges because fking grind is ridiculous to unlock tiers for rift with XP is a joke.

Why isn't there a system to allow you to pick between either a killer only tome or survivor only locking you out of other one i.e pick killer lock out of survivor or something.

Exactly. That's the point of a BP. The archives shouldnt be tied to the rift at all to begin with.

NOW people are seeing "I cant hit max unless I play ungodly hours I dont want to"

    OR

Spend money on the Battlepass and max it out that way. Which is what they want. Which is why battlepasses are ######### stupid.

Been saying this a long time. It only works because people will spend money or ridiculous amounts of extra time on a game they really dont want or need to, just to "not miss out" on some rewards.

  • I've fixed that before. You just have to get one of the other 3 to leave. Then it fills 2 back in.

Getting one to leave, however isnt always easy. But after 5 mins me and a buddy message them, "lobby bugged, you mind heading out?"

If they do it's almost instant the other 2 show up.

But it's good we dont need workarounds now.

During the early to mid game it has saved me many many times.

Please, I URGE you guys to try this perk out for a few games

Quick, use it before it becomes used in 80% of games and changed to have a 5m range and one time use per match because of its "overwhelming use".

  • Act like I knew what was up before learning the game and expecting it to be easy. Not wanting to look into killers to understand them.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/122171/pigs-traps-shouldn-t-be-luck-based-and-something-should-be-done-about-the-tunneling-trapped-people

Traps timer stops when the Pig is chasing you and the "chase" persist for 5 or so seconds after breaking line of sight. I don't understand how 10m is needed. If Pig is just starting/breaking chase then she is either wasting a ton of time on you or not actually being a threat as you can just turn around and go back.

I agree completely about the RNG removal though, as even with the increase box add-ons you may have all 4 get off first try effectively wasting your add-ons. I wonder if having skillcheck affecting perks also affect the Jigsaw boxes would be too much? Or if it would actually solve anything.

    Removal of traps isnt RNG.

Its placed in a specific box, when the trap goes on. You just have to pick correctly. Thata luck and probability, not RNG.

    Devs have stated that.

  • Yeah I was 30 day banned for calling out how ######### the battlepass is as a business practice under the rules of "insulting members" because it was taken as an insult to the devs, and that's the "same as insulting another member". They DO NOT like being called out.

Tell that to Death Garden and so many others.

The bulk of the core group is not going anywhere. I've sat in 30 minute killer ques all weekend.

30 minute killer queues? Now you're lying to make a point....

Deathgarden failed for more reasons than "not being able to retain new and old players". The same way evolve did. Just because the game type is similar doesnt mean you can compare it to them as to how they fail.

You cant speak for the core group, as you, just like I am, are a single person.

It's a simple logic in every business. You dont alienate your core consumers to attract new ones. That's how old people leave, new people come in, and the cycle continues until no new people are coming in, as your newest wave of "veterans" decides to go.

Yes, you want new customers, but not at the cost of your supporters who have been there.

  • @FearlessHunter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1013968#Comment_1013968

The whole point of ranks is to separate bad players, good players, and pro players.

Im sorry but when a game can’t get ranks right then you know for a fact that there’s something wrong. Do you think it’s acceptable how a low rank player can be paired with a pro player?

No, which is why the tool exists. To ATTEMPT to match players accordingly. Which it usually does decently well until recently (when killers keep leaving or going to survivor).

That aside, it's not hard at all to hit red ranks, so even if it was working as YOU want it to, it means nothing.

You would honestly rather have all ranks in all games? Because that's the alternative.

This is not a competetive, ranked style game. Its asymmetrical 1v4, which cant be perfectly balanced AND recieved new content. It is not warranting of a ranked system. The only reason people take it like that, is because they see the term "rank" and immediately think ranked vs casual games.

This isnt that. Its casual. And yes, you can play competitively, and try to win, but that doesnt make this a competetive game that requires a pinpoint accurate matchmaking rank. Especially when the sides arent weighed out perfectly to a 1:4 killer survivor ratio. Something has to give, or youd wait 25 mins to get a "perfect" ranked match. Only to find that red rank teammate is boosted, and it doesnt matter anyway.

  • @FearlessHunter said:

A tool that doesn’t do its job properly and screws over everyone. How is that acceptable in a ‘competitive’ game???

It's not a competetive game. It has no ranked or competetive mode.

Second, it DOES do its job. It BETTER matches people to what they SHOULD be playing against.

If it didnt exist it would be ranks 1-20 in every game.

They have a problem getting and keeping new players. Being concerned about it is smart business. If you can't get and keep new players, you close down.

If your core base that has played it for 3 years stops playing, you close down.

New players come and go here because of tie ins (ST) and the fact that most refuse to actually LEARN the game. They want it to be easy, and cant stand to look up a video. But guess what, they already paid.

They have money from the new players wether they quit or not. However if your actual core playerbase quits, theres no more DLC or cosmetic purchases from them regularly. Theres no playerbase to actually keep the game running. Especially if it's the veteran killers that leave. Theres no veterans to make videos or give information TO the new players, in turn giving them less reason to stay because they're COMPLETELY in the dark as to what to do.

Focusing on just new players to "keep you alive" isnt ever going to work. Catering to the newcomers while alienating those who have supported you, THROUGH ######### DECISIONS AND TIMES, is simply a suicidal business practice.

  • Matchmaking tool.

    THAT IS LITERALLY ALL.

I've said it 100 times. It does nothing other than attempt to match people more accurately. No reward. No season. No nothing.

    Just. A. Matchmaking tool.

  • I actually prefer the same old gameplay. The game from BBQ event is when I started, and I love the tense cat and mouse chases. Hiding, trying to outsmart the killer, etc. Its why i even still play it.

Now days it's either super fast hooks, getting sandbagged by my teammates, or gens pop before I can start to enjoy the hunt.

Regardless of which side I play, I always find the salty ass toxic players. Teammates that spam unhook you and dont actually do it, people who teabag then DC when caught, etc.

Endgame however, needed to happen. A good match is one thing, but 45 mins of someone refusing to do work or leave after gates are open? Absolutely no reason for that to happen.

All I'm saying, is if any of it is true then you should be able to consistently kill all four Survivors just by using the Billy's Power.

Which is why its biased. Their only thought was, "what does our community care about....NEW SURVIVORS!"
