So obviously the killer metas on Pc and consoles are a bit different, like for example Nurse was the most powerful on Pc, but a joke on consoles.
Spirit and billy are still pretty popular but truthfully? Freddy is the big dog in red ranks. I could vs billy and spirit all day and not sweat too much. But Freddy? Freddy is straight up painful to face.
His map pressure is insane, his teleport paired with Discordance/Surveillance and Pop goes the weasel is god tier.
His snares are borderline game breaking, basically a clown with no recharge or slow down.
His ability to remain invisible until he’s in your face whilst your asleep shortens the hell out of chases.
His lunge is ridiculous (surely I’m not the only one who thinks this)
His movement speed even though his abilities don’t slow him down is also insane, the only killer not slowed whilst using abilities.
Anyways, I’m not asking for a nerf or anything, but reading blah blah Spirit this and that all day, when Freddy is in my opinion, even stronger, is funny.
Anyone else on consoles agree? Or does no one truly believe Freddy is top tier?
Not sure what he’s like on PC, but he’s just as popular, if not more then spirit on Xbox.
Yep, for me it's Spirit and Freddy, both based on non campers/tunnelers good killers. Top tier both of them

First of all I don't see myself as a good killer. I invested 900 hours in the game. About half the time I played killer. I would say I do understand the basic mechanics and know the most stuff a killer should know. Like:
- When you should give up a chase
- When you should slug
- How to play the loops correctly (more or less) - sometimes I mindgame myself lol
The following things are important to me personally when I play killer:
- I don't tunnel survivors
- I don't camp survivors
And probably here is the point. I refuse to tunnel/camp ppl and that is not the smartest thing to do against good survivors I guess. And if I say good survivors I don't mean sweaty swfs. I mean half decent survivors who can hold M1 on gens and have basic knowledge about looping.
Do I really have to change my playstyle? Do I need to proxy camp and tunnel ppl in certain situations? Or do I just need to "git gud"? It is really sad that you sometimes need to play Spirit/Nurse to get chill games. As survivor (that is my opinion at least) you can just chill and enjoy the game.
I would like to know how you guys play on red ranks. What strategy do you use? How do you handle the gen rush?
Easy 4k: Avoid the looper and find an easy prey, go away and return to "accidentally tunnel" that survivor till the game is now a 3v1, now stop tunneling, there you go

It was hard to read but I think I understood, if you go to "Bug Reports" section you will se numerous reports about this. Whenever you do a challenge or erase it, you go into a game and it randomly changes to another ritual when you go back to lobby after the game, not just the Demogorgon's one, it just changes from the one you had
-
Dude... It favours the killer... Small game gets messed up cause traps and totems ring your perk even when they were two floors above or below, even though it's pallet city, there are practically no safe pallets there, you can just leave the pallet and use it in your favour for survivors to have to loop around it or even get a grab if they're dumb enough to try to vault it...
Hex totems are hard to find cause of what I said about small game, teleporters own the map, Freddy has free pallet city passport, etc. Need more arguments?
-
It's the feeling of not being in control, like when you think you're good at something but the context makes you do bad in it. That anger is funny AH though.
When people call you bad names after you played killer they get the feeling of being helpless either if you camped or not, and that feeling is quite the opposite as of when they looped, teabagged and escaped in the match.
As killer, if you send rage messages it has more to do with the feeling that you were "the guy on charge" and the others literally owned you, it's as if your little brother beated you in a fight and there was nothing you could do about it
-
Yep, maybe an "all included" (no battle pass or cosmetics, just DLC's) version of the game?

does this ever happen to other people? I find comfort in playing other survivors because it feels like there's some sort of variety. I still want to main Kate but i don't want to play her anymore, or at least until i get better cosmetics for her.
I adore using my mains (Survivor: Bill, Killer: Freddy) and I hate Daily rituals that force me to use other people!
Remember that once you unlock all perks for survivors a survivor is just a skin so...

Damn, I thank you for doing this amount of work just to prove how dumb the system actually is, and how toxic camping is. But I guess as killer you'll just safety pip and get nothing more for camping two people a game nonstop. Plus if you add in the straight factor of boredom, you might as well just uninstall the game because there's no way being a massive douche like that is entertaining enough to do it nonstop. Quite the work my friend. People like seeing this type of stuff!
What I'd love devs to think about is a way of "punishing" face campers, it could even be a small explanation on how the BP won't come to them if they do so.

2K with two escapes, and zero gens is a de-pip. That's two hook events. If the player who is being camped let's go, it is no longer the Killer's fault. Ruin will slow you down, however, you have a 40 second grace period. You WILL get those gens done.
CLEARLY the camper ain't looking for piping... He just wanted to mess with the team, and 2 annoyed persons are wprse than 1.
My point is not that leaving them on hook ain't the answer, my point is that it is situational, if he's a good camper there's nothing you can do, just do the gens and get 2 or 3 escapes, if he's not a good camper don't let your teammates to die, at least try to save them
-
@Pulsar said:
If every Survivor does one gen while the Killer camps, you WILL get 3 gens done. If he does it again, you get out.
Sir, you're implying the hooked one will struggle, if he just lets go your strat is done for. Also, coordinating three people on different gens is already difficult for SWF, add RUIN...
My point is not to say you shouldn't do it, my point is to let people know it depends on the situation and context of the game, it's not as simple as "just do the gens"
Also... In what you wrote you gave the killer a 2k
-
@8obot1c said:
You forgot the statistics of the start of the match, how long it takes the killer to get somebody (even the first person) There is so many missing statistics here I'll be as old as my grandma if I list them
Yep, true, my point was the focus on what doing gens implies in terms of time, I also didn't add ranks and many other things, but what I want is for people to know it's not as simple as saying "Handle the camper, just do gens", it's way more complicated than that
-
@bendermac said:
A lot of people will say "Only bad killers will camp". This not true. A really good Killer can decide to camp just for giggles and it's up to the Survivors to make the Killer pay. But the reality is that camping is rewarded by the Survivor more then you would believe. 3Ks or even 4Ks are not rare. They do happen far more then they should. Yet Survivors get very mad at the Killer that he got them all. The only one who can be a bit salty is the one who gets hooked -> camped first. Yet many times the other try to safe the hooked guy and then soon they are all hooked... one by one.
Just saying guys, look at yourself and don't blame the Killer if he succeed ;)
But in all fairness, it's a ######### play.
Good sir, this is wrong in so many ways...
If you do gens (3 survivors doing gens vs 1 hooked) and leave the hooked one to die (which is BS and a deuche move to do) you have 2 full minutes till he dies to do gens, which means that to get the 5 gens with teamwork you need 33.33 seconds per gen (all 3 other survivors doing a gen together) + run time to get to the next one (10 seconds aproximately) doing a total of 44.33 seconds per gen, which takes 221 seconds. THIS CANNOT REALLY HAPPEN, after 120 seconds the camped survivor will be dead, which means the team could've done only 3 gens, supposing the killer camps a 2nd survivor, it takes now 44.44 seconds per gen to be done + 10 seconds to go to the 5th gen THAT IS GOING TO BE A "3 GENNED" last gen.
Based on this NUMBERS, a camper will ALWAYS get at least 2k if the team focuses on only doing gens and leaves camped survivors to die (and they don't stop spamming the button to struggle) and to do them as fast as they can they will have to get 3 gened every time.
AND GUESS WHAT! This is all subjective and therefore a lie because this numbers are calculated for 3 persons doing a gen at the same time and all of them next to each other! There are actually 2 men gens and 1 man gens!
YES CAMPING is BS!
Care for numbers? There you go:

I believe those that are under Nurse and Spirit is Hillbilly, Freddy, Huntress, & Demogorgon (if play him well) in that order. The reason for Hillbilly being the highest is because of how his power is easily countered by survivors like destroying portals, doing gens/ being awake, and running out of your ability if the survivor outplays your hatchets.
This is all my opinion but I'd like to hear others.
Three specific ones: Freddy, Huntress and Hag
-
You have to participate in all activities and also have a 3k or 4k, it's hard, but doable. Break pallets every now and then, land hits and do long chases, NEVER camp or tunnel, if you tunnel just down them and let others heal each other completely, use your special abilities ALL THE TIME, place traps and keep on placing them as Freddy, Hag, etc. use phase a lot with spirit, go to the upside down with the Demo, you get me.
It's harder to get adepts with Killers than with survivors.

The point is that the pipping system DOESN'T track wins.
It's not that it tracks degrees of wins, but that it's an entirely different scale. You can win and pip, win and not pip, lose and pip and lose and not pip.
However its the win vs loss that allows you to determine success, not pip vs nopip.
So it's like the test looks for the scars but completely ignores if the patient lives or not.
I just made a poll about this, and actually the answers are quite clear, people think a win is a win depending on their perception, I cannot assure PIPing is a win, but neither a 4k no pip. It depends on the person, for example, if I got a 4K no pips I feel like trash cause I know I didn't give myself a challenge, but sometimes a 2k double pip let's me feel like the game was a tie. It depends on the person's perpective.

What about when I don’t tunnel or camp? If I’m good enough to snowball a whole team then I clearly won if I got them all down quickly, but based on pips, I lost? It takes a lot more skill to snowball than too have a really long game and following the ‘pips= win’ logic, someone dcing means that I auto-lose.
OBVIOUSLY there are lacks on every rule, a 4k early game no pips without camping or tunneling is one of them. But that ain't what normally happens. Red and Purple Ranks will practically never let you do that for example. Piping is not a "you win rule" but it's the most objective way of knowing you did what you had to.

Except that's not true since that's not how the pipping system works.
You get pips based off arbitrary tasks that are only indirectly related to the actual wincondition (with the exception of Unbreakable for Survivors).
So it's like of that same Surgery exam was completely ignoring your ability to save the patient and only cared about how much movement you made and the number of steps you took to complete the assignment.
Sure those things are related to preforming a Surgery, but it also means that someone using a super efficient but wrong method can pass while someone doing a more complicated but more effective method would fail.
Such an examination method would not reliably judge you based off how effective you are at preforming Surgery.
This is like that, however it's worse because it's the other way around. Someone using a drawn out and inefficient strategy which thus has a higher failure rate is more likely to pip than someone who wins as efficiently as possible, even though the second player is the better player due to being more effective.
So in the case of DBD all 3 of the Killers who got those 2k's failed their job. Even if they pipped they still failed to accomplish the task they were given. The person who 4k'ed succeeded.
So someone who consistently 4k black pips is better than a Killer who consistently 2k double pips. Who cares what grade your surgeon got if all his other patients died in his care? And I wouldn't care if my surgeon got a poor grade on an arbatrary test if his patients all got through to Surgery with no issue.
Pips track your process, but it's the end result that matters.
You're missleading the example, in both cases the doctor would've saved the patient, but the guy with C- would've left a horrible scar and many tissue exposed damage, meanwhyle the A+ would've propperly done everything and left no damage.
Apples compared with apples dude, not apples with watermelons, lol
For DBD, a killer who got a 4k no pips was just hardcore having an easy game (camped, tunneled, moried on sight), yes, he did his job, but the killer who let the survivors actually have a chance, didn't camp, didn't tunnel, didn't mori on first chance and double piped is a god tier killer, he made himself have a hard game and still got the 4k. I just compared a 4k with a 4k, apples vs apples, I could've given you a mixed example like you did to subjectivize this argument though, a 4k double pip ain't better than a 2k no pip?
-
It's just a way of still having the moris in game, the time it takes for it to be done depends entirely on the context, a far from hook mori takes less time than carrying a survivor to the hook, the Hag's mori takes way more time than the Wraith's for example.
Moris are getting hate, and us killers just want them in the game, making them work on 2nd hook is a way of fixing survivor's complaints about being tunneled or instakilled early in the game and would give us killers the BP and PIPs we deserve for doing a mori (you can barely black pip when using a mori nowdays)
-
It depends on the situation:
- Teammates getting hooked again and again, 1 or no gens done = Gens are more important
- 3 gens done, barely any hooked players = Teammates are more important
- Noob teammates on last hook no gens done = None of them are important, get the unhooks if you can, but don't give the killer a 4k
- 3 gens done teammates on last hook = If in SWF 1 do gens and 2 go for the save
It's a subjective question for me, depends entirely on the context

"As a Killer, your goal is to sacrifice as many Survivors as possible". "As a Survivor, your goal is to escape and avoid being caught and killed."
First of all I respect all your opinions on this topic but I'm going to share my reasoning on why people shouldn't worry about pipping as a "win" condition. The two quotes I just stated above are my first reasoning as to why pipping is not a win condition. Nowhere does it say that you have to gain "pips" to win. It says that your goal is to sacrifice or escape. Nothing more. All pips really are stated to do in game are to make sure you are ranked within a certain skill group of players. To separate the noobs from the red ranks mainly. My second argument is that if your a survivor/killer and everyone is equally skilled then you can still win and get a black pip. That doesn't mean you lost or tied. You still won because you completed both your objectives. People who think pipping counts as winning can you please leave your thoughts on why you think so? Feedback is always appreciated.
Good sir, it's simple, you can get a 6 in an exam (C-) and pass it, but you could've gotten a 10 (A+). Who do you think is a good doctor, the one who passed his surgery exam with C- or the one who got an A+? Who would you pick to have surgery with?
Now, lets pass those examples to DBD, who is actually a better killer? The one who got a 2k+ without piping or the one who got a 2k+ and piped or the one who got a 2k+ and double piped?
It's as simple as that. Yes, getting a 4k and no pip implies you did your job, but that was a lame C- right there, give yourself a challenge by not camping or tunneling to get that A+ man.

I dont care about my rank, I pip anyway without even trying to pip. 4ks are for me the ultimate WIN but I accept a 2k aswell since the game is designed to do 2ks.
But that 4k feels amazing right? The only problem I have there is when it was a fair game and somehow I feel like the 4th survivor earned a hatch escape cause II'm sure I got two pips and 3k, that argument in my head on weather to kill him or let him escape is overwelming
-
I cannot pick an answer... I run by their rules if they ain't toxic, but I do run NOED for end game builds so... Also, if the unhooked player stayed put or ran straight to me, he's getting hit, not hooked though...

4k is winning anything else is a loss, the only exception is last survivor escaping via hatch.
I do play as that when I'm a killer, and it freaking gets on my nerves sometimes... Lol

I forgot to add an option for "none of the above", sorry
-
Yep, I agree, they'd just have to fix it so that getting to pip 1 had to take the same amount of effort as it was before a played DC'ed, I wouldn't like red ranks DC'ing to help teammates pip up...
-
I main Trapper, Spirit and Freddy for purple and red ranks (Console, I can't talk about PC). For me he's fine.
-
Against him: I have lots of videos against every killer where I loop and dodge (360,180, etc.) every hit, I have videos making red ranks DC or let me go to chase someone else. EVERY KILLER but Myers...
Playing as him: It's impossible to use in red ranks, I never get more than 2k with him. Maybe I don't have the right perks, any tips?
REMEMBER this is my experience, not a law, I'm not generalizing, it's just for me.

Myers, I hate evry single part of him, both as him and against him

4 viable options there:
1° You try to disarm the trap, he hits you, you run past him
2° A guy gets a lantern, you get trapped, he grabs you, the lantern guy saves you
3° Another unhooked survivor takes a hit for the team and gets trapped, you leave
4° No lantern or no disarming option available, just stand still and see who gets tired first
You did have options, this is not taking the game hostage, sorry

Yes, the urge to kill is amazing, lol

For survivors it's just a skin pick, once I unlocked every perk for everyone I just pick whoever looks the coolest
For Killers you have to try them, everybody complains about Legion and yet he's one of my favourites, and the power you feel when you're Freddy or Spirit is just amazing.

1° Spinechill is good for EVERY killer, not just Spirit (yes, I know T1 Myers, bla bla bla)
2° Learn your loops
3° Use headphones
4° Spinechill is good for EVERY killer, not just Spirit (yes, I know T1 Myers, bla bla bla)

You can also run towards pallets when she's phasing, run back and if you can't keep running she's right there, drop the pallet, enjoy the stun

I think I see what you're doing here... LOL
-
The worst of them all are Nancy and Steve's, not a single drop of creativity on their story to get "grabbed" by the entity to DBD
-
I actually have a question about this, yesterday, on XBOX SWF full party, we went against a Myers who, in specific moments, "lagged" and teleported giving him some "advantage" over the survivors, we all could see it in the exact same way and taped it from different perspectives.
Ain't there a way for killers to "connect-disscOnect" their wifi/ethernet for them to get an advantage in specific moments regardless of the dedicated servers?
I mean, we all escaped and said nothing to the killer but it was weird AH.
Example: At the exit gates he "lagged" and teleported BEHIND us hitting and downing specificly the only hurt survivor, we body blocked for him to ecape, but still, it was really weird.

Yeah, survivors need to chill out and accept it.
Yes they do, but we both know it's not gonna happen, so I preffer the Ebony to be reworked to lower the DC rates for me to be able to have a full game without any DC crying babies
-
Ahm, good sir, DBD is a survival game, the killer should ALWAYS make you feel at least a bit "helpless" when you're a survivor. Insta heals are good as they are, you're supposed to try to survive, not to try to bully the killer.
PLEASE HAVE IN MIND if the survivors get the balance inclined in their favour (more than it already is) people will start to play as survivor more than killer, which means HIGHER WAIT AVERAGE PER LOBBY. Are you ok with having to wait more than 20 minutes to play per lobby?
-
@lynelmane said:
I play every day and I don't face Mori's that often, and I've played in every rank in the past 2 months.
I'm red ranks now and I don't see them any more or less than before. I just accept my fate and do my best. Yes they are annoying, but they aren't happening every single round.
I am an immersed player so maybe I have better luck staying alive than most?
@lynelmane @BenZ0 I don't know about everyone else, but the reason I made this post is on the killer's side. I'm a killer main, red ranks, the problem here is that I like moris for the animation, that's it, and I'd love to see the Ebony reworked cause of the DCers, you have no idea (ok, maybe you do) how many times I've saved up to 10+ ebonys and everybody DC as soon as I do the first kill... I don't get moris "too many times" as survivor, but when I use them as a killer the DC is just something that makes me angry.
I want them reworked just to lower the DC rates of survivors whenever I use an Ebony. This is why I created the post, not cause I believe Ebonys are OP or I dislike them, but because I want survivors to learn "to take a hit" every now and then
