The DC-ing problem is pretty disgusting and has been a rampant issue for years. It's more of a problem for Survivors. Every other game I play, the person who gets caught first will disconnect immediately because they don't want to be the first one hooked. Sometimes they're butthurt that they won't get to use Deliverance, but most of the time they're just entitled and do it because there's no actual repercussions. Meanwhile, this totally screws over the rest of your team.
I really hope the devs make good on their promise to crack down on this more when the dedicated servers are up, but all we can do is wait and see.

I don't know, in my experience (xbox) the hate messages have been downed practically to 0, I get 4/4 survivors 9/10 games and they have nothing to say afterwards cause they aint got S to say about me not letting them enjoy too, I've even got GG messages and one "OMG dude! You're OP!"

Awwww, cutie... I'm killer main, this rules are for us to have harder and more enjoyable games, and still, using this rules I get 4/4 almost every game... I guess not everybody can win using this manual...

Use killers who let you locate them, like Ghostface, Michael and The Hag (with random traps).
Also perks like Barbecue add to solving this, have in mind not always it's cause they are taking the game hostage, for example, yesterday, a friend and I brought in keys to open the hatch and the full team looked for the hatch for about 10 minutes without doing the generators.
