  • I use his mains and BBQ, I'm rank 9 BTW, and get 4/4 almost every game, I need to check this perks for higher ranks though. Blood Warden is amazing, lol.

  • There, the answer was simple, I changed killer... Slow killer means avoid looping and go get the others, fast killer with helpful habilities mean stay on the looper and punish him. Freddy is awesome for this now, also the huntress and the clown.

  • While it doesn't happen nearly as often as it did before EGC, there are instances where the killer is gracious enough to either guide the last survivor to the hatch, or let them escape through the exit gates.

As survivor, nod with your head, as killer, just down them and let them escape that way to prevent them from mocking you, you can get a "top 10 saddest anime goodbyes" like the one I got:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpIRof_qRc8

  • So I just started playing this game on pc....it is horrible on here. I main killer and trying to level up.

    Tips:

Level him up and get better perks, don't camp, destroy pallets, they give you good amount of BP, learn which perks you need to own people, basic owning perks are BBQ, Nurses calling and NOED, if you can add Freddy's Blood Warden they ar f$%&/$

Has it been so long since the good ol' days...

A grab on a survivor tea-bagging the hatch but had poor timing. 😂 I still have that video.

Paste the vid, it's worth it, I wanna watch

  • Trapper, you know , the killer referred to as the Trapper starts his games with like 2-3 traps and has to go collect his traps spread across the map. however..

Cause the traps he sets can instadown a survivor, whyle the hag uses them to teleport and Freddy to slow them down.... So...

  • I never played Freddy before and was thinking of trying the new one so I am interested in your ideas. What came to mind for me is: ruin, thana, pgtw and bbq.

Easy... 1° BBQ will be OP for you to teleport to specific survivors. 2°NOED, cause... 3° Pop goes the weasel (combo with BBQ), Lullaby (cause gen teleports)

  • Huntress, Ghostface and Legion, in that order, but... I still need to play as the new Freddy, cause for what I've seen. he's gonna be my number 2

  • Ahm... I don't know, I don't mind a camper or a tunneler cause of my regular SWF team, we own them... All we care about is their ping... A hit that shouldn't have landed does get me triggered... I never DC btw, that's a douche's move against the survivor, not the killer... The only killer I have trouble against when they're campers is the cannibal

  • When You open a locker to reload and get a present without knowing the survivor was there, LOL.

I'm having issues with bugs or exploits as well. I have posted videos of me sprinting but my character begins shaking and crouching being a dead fish for the killer to hang as well as moments when skill checks go off but nothing is visible for me to hit them. Lastly, I have had many games where could not work on gens or heal. It wouldnt give me the option. The videos a posted below.

    Not able to heal:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-nR-rO3ST2k

Game reading a full recovery resulting in knocking you off but you never got them up:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b4AFvlQDbEA

I will upload the skill check one later

The healing bug gets me mad every time, like, they're downed, you hela them, and instead of getting up you need to pres the heal button again for them to get up...

  • @Mew said:

If you’re slugged under a pallet and somebody is looping the killer around the same pallet, hold sprint while you recover so if the person needs to throw down the pallet they dont heal you.

OMG! This is actually helpful, reminds me of keeping the button to crouch when being unhooked by the hag's traps so that you don't trigger them as you land.

  • YES! OMG! Why don't people get we can use thir time on hook! They always (well, almost always) want to get unhooked as soon as possible!

  • @fluffymareep said:

    1. Not always and not recommended if hurt since you leave a trail.

    2. 360s only really work on lower ranks and doesn't help in the middle of no where. It's better to find a loop or a pallet.

    3. It's best to pick up multiple "styles" and be decent at all of them since you'll likely be doing them all

    4. You mean use his perks? Also for huntress avoid being out in the open and if you can, stealth is always preferred. You can hear her humming and she's very strong in chase.

    5. Also be aware of time. If everyone's on the opposite side of the map and you wait until last second, the person's going into struggle. Idealy someone will be heading over at the halfway point and it's really only an issue when everyone's going for the save or someone's there to farm the person.

    6. No, still unhook, otherwise you're leaving someone who possibly saved you to die.

    7. This is true for the most part. You can also hear stealth killer noises with your headphones.

    8. I agree with this. Only get ruin if it's nearby you 'cause there's likely someone else looking around for it.

    9. I think she can though if she holds it down long enough

    10. Omg, so I hate trying to stab people with Meyers and I go to stab where I think it'd hit and it's a total whiff 'cause I'm used to other killer dimensions.

    11. If they're too new to know about black locks, they probably shouldn't be messing with keys. Better to save them until you get a better understanding for the game imo.

    12. If you are only running into red ping, make sure to do stuff earlier than you think you'd need to (Such as throwing the pallet or vaulting).

For number 2 I really want to try this in red ranks, I'm currently green so...

I should've said this was for mic and headset, for number 6, I don't unhook if we can coordinate the rescue using me to keep fixing, and yes, if the gens are done, unhooking is a priority, no one should be left behind! LOL.

About 11, I played with two rank 4 yesterday, and they didn't know the key did that... I know... What?!

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

I'll go ahead and tell you the most important tip: Learn to look over your shoulder while being chased.

You mean looking at the killer? like, literally turning your camera looking backwards? Cause I thought everyone did that...

    As a Survivor:

    • Facecamping Killer
    • Megablink Nurse
    • Lerys
    • Me playing bad
    • Teammates playing bad

    As a Killer:

    • Me Playing bad
    • Flashlight Clicky
    • Tbag
    • Combo of all 3

I loved how you mentioned yourself when you're playing bad, LOL

  • @Boss said:

    Killing all with Devour Hope.

That perk is both good and bad, cause it can give you a good time or you can get the hex destroyed and get mad, lol..

  • Ok, here's a tip I'm using regularly and works for me 10/10, when you're the last survivor and the hatch opens but not the doors (the killer is winning, you didn't finish the gens), don't try to find the hatch, go to an exit, let the killer find and close the hatch, then open the exit you're in and escape. GG

  • Hex ruin ruins the game.

I'm sorry to say you can do the gens without destroying the totem, that's how my team usually works, if we find the totem in the way, that's good, if we don't that's not gonna stop us. Just practice perfect skill checks, it is difficult the first times you practice them, cause your mind now focuses on "doing the skill check" and not on "doing a perfect skillcheck", but you''ll get the hang of it.

  • Look at the generators you are working on, if you only cover one side of the map the last three will be together, which means you are allowing gen camping for the killer at the last 2.

  • @Crazewtboy said:

    As Killer:

    1. People who die and still have the nerve to call you trash, etc.
    2. Hits that clearly should have connected but didn't because autolock screwed me
    3. People who will break your hooks or go to a specific area of the map where they know you can't make it to a hook with them.
    4. People who will intentionally hop in a locker to rob you of a mori with a tombstone when playing Myers (like is is really that deep?)

    As Survivor:

    1. People who play like idiots and cost the team the match
    2. Killers who go after you directly after you're unhooked because they have a mori (once again, is it really that deep?)
    3. Killers who will bring you to hatch and close it in your face/wait for you to die on the ground due to endgame (because it wastes time)

    As Either Side:

    1. People who disconnect because they were found/downed/hooked first
    2. People who disconnect because of a mori or map offering
    3. People who leave the lobby right before the match starts so you are stuck looking for another survivor after 20 minutes of waiting and your lobby might now be bugged
    4. People who play selfishly and get their team killed because of it (Bringing the killer to someone, unsafe unhooks, Waiting for people to die so they can take hatch, etc)

Yes! I don't get the urge of getting the mori as soon as they're unhooked! You get more bloodpoints if you focus the rescuer and if the other guy has the bad luck to run into you later on THEN you do the mori, if they rage or send hate messages you can answer "how are you complaining, I gave you a chance to keep fighting for your life when I didn't tunnel you to insta mori"

  • Know when to use offerings, for example, luck increases the chance of getting better items in chests, unhooking yourself, getting rid of beartraps or reverse beartraps. Don't use luck offerings if you don't need them.

  • I use Nurses, BBQ, NOED and I'm all ears. I get 4/4 survivors 9/10 games.

You can even be a #$%& and let them downed, go away, stalk and know where they all are with nurses when they try to heal the downed survivor. Down them all then proceed to hook them all or just let them bleed out... The trick for them not to DC is not to tunnel the survivor who was downed, go for the healer, down him and let the others heal the 1° downed, as you're not hooking them they think they stand a chance...

I never use ruin nor whispers cause ruin makes them destroy my totems for NOED and whispers is bugged cause of chase music being too loud since the update.

  • She can't blink through cars now, I noticed yesterday, LOL

  • @Cheers said:

I'm a rank 4 survivor and I never knew nurse couldn't blink through cars!

One tip that I can add is when you fail a skill check, don't immediately run away from the generator. Instead, stay on it and if the killer comes then leave.

Also when there are more than one person working a generator, the killer usually focuses on one of you, so keep working on it if you're not the one targeted, LOL, this makes me laugh every time I do it.

  • So, I recently got the game off of steam summer sale, picked up Leatherface from the store and Mike's bundle, since I heard Mike was a good killer, and Leatherface had a very good general perk.

    Tips:

1° When chased, run towards a locker (when out of sight of the killer, he's after your scratch marks), stop running and walk away. The killer will believe you went in a locker giving you time to hide.

    2° Learn to 360°, 180°, dodge, etc. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5omVRjqbWI

3° Learn your play style. Stealth, time gainer (mess with the killer), runner, objective based or teamplayer (healer, unhooker, etc.)

4° Use Jake if the doctor is your worst enemy, never run straight lines when facing the huntress, use spinechill to outmatch GF, the pig, wraith and Myers.

5° Learn when to unhook, sometimes it's better to keep working the gens until the last second before unhooking someone, use their time on the hook to do objectives, don't be selfish, let your team use yours to do the same. Have in mind the killer usually camps or stays close to the hooked survivor in low ranks.

6° Avoid unhooking if you've been hooked 2 times already.

7° Use a headset, SWF is way better in every way.

8° Work on your skill checks, if ruin is on, you can still do the gens.

  • Is there a bugfix comming for this...?

Honestly Id love to mori someone differently it wraith, seriously three swings? That's all i get?

I know! Like, he desapears and random hits open the survivors chest, then he appears and gives a final blow to the head?

  • @Almo said:

As Killer, I prefer Pig, then Wraith. I like being able to turn off my TR.

As Survivor, most prefer playing against Huntress, as I feel I have the most ability to do something about her power. But in practice, she beats me just as bad as anyone else I think.

Yep, the TR turned off for Wraith is cool AH when you have the addons to make him run like sonic the hedgehog.

I actually love playing as The Huntress, and I tend to get 3/4 or 4/4 every game, but maybe that's cause I'm a level 12

  • @Ksoni said:

    Nobody cares

That's why you read it right...? And why you bothered to answer right...? LOL

  • Here are some tips:

1° Learn your playstyle, do you prefer a fast killer who doesn't depend that much on his/her hability or do you need a "smart" add to your chases by using things like the axe throw from the huntress or the stalking of GF and Myers?

2° Learn what perks do you good. I prefer close encounters and chasing rather than ambushing (The Clown, The Legion, The Hag and The Doctor), so I use perks for me to move quicker and do maximum damage (like NOED).

3° Try every killer and see what you like. Do you prefer knowing where to go and easy targetting the survivors? Then use Myers, GF or the Doctor. Do you prefer an easy down of a survivor? Then use Legion, Huntress or Cannibal.

4° Play as survivor and then use the bloodpoints to upgrade your killers. If what you need is a little advantage, upgrade them first, then try them. But, if you play as the killer since level 1, you'll get good with the killer regardless of the perks you use.

  • It could hsppen? :D https://cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/011/921/499/large/lily-tosthage-dex-by-daylight-jaws.jpg?1532096740

This would be epic, maybe a little bit less "heavy", and his hability could be to hook and hold survivors, misa like it

  • The trick for trapper now is to place traps in places where survivors run to get a sight advantage against killer and loose him/her like the cornfields, place your traps in the corn and make the perimeter your hunting ground, they won't stand a chance.

  • ...this game is mental.

Dude, just keep playing, you'll get better, I swear, it's just like this every time a new guy enters, you'll become a killer in personality, the rage this guys make you feel will let your inner belcebu come out.

    Here are a few tips:

1° Play survivor, you'll get what they usually do, use mic and join a game of Survive With Friends for you to learn what high rank survivors usually do.

2° Try different killers, to begin the game, the nurse is the hardest to play, whyle the doctor is the easiest of them all for you to get the hang of it. As soon as you see "No One Escapes Death" get it for all your killers, best perk ever,

3° Don't camp unless they have done all the generators (take in mind you're new, so camping is somehow not a bad idea for the moment).

4° Use the bloodpoints you got from playing survivor with friends to upgrade your killers.

5° Don't take S from anyone, they will always talk BS against you, even if you don't camp or tunnel them, enjoy the gameplay. This game is for you to enjoy solo as a killer (you're the bad guy, feel the devil inside you) or to enjoy as a team (with a mic in a party) by playing survivor.

You consider yourself to be a "great" killer while still being rank 15, 11 days after a rank reset. I found that really funny.

I said "good" and that image was taken a month ago, I'm rank 12 right now... Still... By "good killer" I mean that I get 3/4 or 4/4 every game... Still if you have experience in this game you know that killing everyone as quick as possible doesn't give you a rank up, you need to work for those points... Nice try...

If you still want to watch how I usually play...

  • @Jdsgames said:

Generally speaking, Although, it is not really gen-rushing. If survivors actually attempt to complete their objective quickly by the games current setup you can do so within 5 minutes. Which does not give the killer that is not high-tier ie Billy/Nurse/Spirit enough chance to get enough momentum rolling without severe survivor mistakes. Looping generally speaking at high ranks (not people swfing up to high ranks) can make almost any loop last the maximum amount of time with also using vaults and stuff to delay your interaction with them. These are what people deem 'good' survivors. The ones that can play the map in their favor that do not need a pallet to save them 24/7. Common perks that I use for survivor: Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, Lithe (Because it is the best exhaustion perk), and Iron Will. Stealthy quick get away. With bonus of either adrenaline or BT to prevent camped hooks at EGC.

But are this considered "bad behaviour" conducts for killers? I mean, you're doing your best to survive aren't you? I'm asking this as a self proclaimed good killer, I mean, do killers actually complain about this as survivors complain about tunneling or camping?

  • Do they know when people DC vs when they lag out? I had a rage quitter yesterday who sent me a message saying "I lagged out, prove otherwise"...

  • @Gcarrara said:

As people mentioned, there are punishments already for people that have a high DC rate. Once dedicated servers will be live it will be easier to track people that DC so checks will be tighter.

Also if you're not aware the ban escalation for DC is the following:

    1 week --> 2 weeks --> 4 weeks --> Permanent ban

How do DBD track DCers this days? I'm asking cause I report people DAILY and I keep playing against them every now and then only to watch them DC again and again (I take screenshots). Is there a better way to report them than just the post game report?

  • This had happened to me before and I didn't get the kill, but not in this match, luck or bugfix?

  • And it happened again... A guy runs straight towards me whyle me being Myers Tier 3... I down him, mori him, he disconnects and boom! Rage quitters 4/4...

  • @TeaLeaf said:

"who gets 3 or 4 out of 4 kills per game and DOESN'T GET HATE MESSAGES AFTERWARDS regarding his gameplay style " those two things don't go together... something in this doesn't belong.

Me... A lot... But it may be cause I'm rank 12, I don't know about higher ranks...

  • @Spicybarbecue said:

    problem is..

kills mean nothing now, killers are NOT killers anymore, they are fun keepers for survivors, who BTW will go out of their wy too ensure that the killer will have zero fun..ironic eh

OMG! This is actually true! I had an easy match yesterday where survivors kept running towards me by accident whyle me being Michael Myers and I got almost no bloodpoints for killing them way too fast! WTH is going on with this game! I like playing by the rules I posted in this topic, but that match got me mad!

    @Carlosylu

I saw your other thread with you playing at rank 15 in the middle of season and 60 devotion level. I assume you've never been above rank 10, or even above rank 12, so you have no idea how survivors can crash even top tier Killers who made 1-2 wrong decisions.

Once you will reach certain level of skill and climb higher in ranks - your idealistic vision of game will change drastically.

When you will face loopers who can run you for 5 gens if you stubborn enough to commit and who will tbag you on every pallet.

When you face SWF teams with 2 BNP toolboxes

When you face teams with 4 instaheals, which prolongs every chase double.

When you face genrush teams with prove and leader

When you face teams packed with second chance perks

When you face teams with balanced landing with haddonfield offering when you literally can't reach survivor in infinite loops

Before making threads gain some game experience and reach red ranks to feel all abovesaid. We'll see what you will say then.

Just for you, to keep you at ground. Last game of mine. No perks (well, deerstalker, just cause I dont like to run around and look for last slug, wasting both our time). Iridescent chaser with 0% proximity to hooked. Unfortunately map wasn't too friendly to protect gens at start of trial, also one of them had Prove Thyself.

I'm an ocasional player, and I really hope I can get up to those ranks to experience for myself, but I don't have enough time to play that much... For now, in my actual rank (I usually stay around 12 to 15 before it gets restarted), I actually enjoy playing by this rules.
