Like Dead Hard or so?
Because the moment you get hit the timer start, but usually you are still in the killers line of sight so you are just wasting time then.
I mean sure the 180 seconds is probably chosen with that in mind but still.
I feel you should be able to activate it yourself, so you can run, break line of sight, THEN activate it and get away.
That'd make that perk actually usable every now and then... For fun...

We got GG messages in most games, but the DCs were understandable...
-
It is still not enough... Killers dodge for the dumbest reasons.... Here are some of the messages I got after I had been lobby dodge several times and I asked why:
"I ain't going against a Claudette"
"Keys are OP", "Dude, it was a green one and nobody else had an item..." "How would I know?"
"Prestige skins in my lobby mean trouble"
"A Dwelf is a tryhard"
"Davids are toxic"
"Ninja Nea is BS to go against"
"I don't go against more than 1 quentin in my lobbies"
"I hate how Nancy screams"
Should I go on...?
-
Depends on the skin you picked, LMFAO

Rank 1 xbox P3 LVL 50 Freddy here (not my main though), I run addons for pallets and slowdown with this build:
Iron Grasp + Agitation + Discordance + BBQ
3K+ Every game, no matter what map
-
I do that man, as a strategy, once I am the last one on the match, a hatch race when the killer knew where the hatch was is always ending badly for the survs, so, I just run straight to a door, the killer closes hatch, I start oppening the door, leave it at one red light, then go to the other door, fully open it and leave, the killer always think I was near the 2 red lights door I started oppening and camps it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm doing everything to help during the match and I play hero 99% of times even if that means I'm dead, but if the 3rd guy dies and I'm the last man standing this strat has never failed me
It's just a strategy, or do you mean another case?

Yeah, we let him farm a bit cause he couldn't do anything, it was a horrible game, post game messages:
Killer: ######### is wrong with matchmaking
Me: We knew, don't worry
Killer: Thanks for going easy and not bringging toolboxes to rush
Me: No prob, gg
Killer: GG

Try this, it's amazingly OP...
Addons for reverse and random placed skillchecks
Huntress Lullaby + Whispers Lvl 3 + Monitor and Abuse + BBQ
Damn... I'm a red ranks and I couldn't get skillchecks after the HL had 3 tokens combined with the addons for reverse and randomly placed skillchecks on my screen + The doctor knew exactly when and where to use blast cause of whispers + BBQ for tracking and BP

Heal. Not healing just gives him free orbs, even if he cant get 1 shot value this way, he still gets dash value. This is not Billy.
Yes, this, but not with self care for the love of god...

If you want unhook someone in the basement and the Killer is close, make sure you don't move while crouching around it. High Rank Killers with good Headphones might hear the moving grass.
If you're Killer and you know there's at least one Flashlight and no wall to look at while picking up a Survivor you can bait the Flashlight if you just look down and wait 3 Seconds.
Damn... I thought nobody knew about the moving grass...

That would be pretty debatable, but I'd wager that it probably does more than it seems. I'd be curious to see what kind of affect it has on the stats overall after it has a little more time to settle in. So far it looks very promising.
When will new stats be released? I am really into them, thanks for everything so far btw. I have to say I made this post trying to help Ruin users, I do not and have never used Ruin nor NOED, but the ammount of people taking "revenge" since Ruin's nerf is kind of annoying some times.

Well the perk only works if you apply pressure, base 115 speed M1 killers don't have that, and have to try a lot harder than high mobility Killers like Hillbilly.
I keep thinking your name is Carly, that's how I register it from now on.
Damn... It's actually cause my wife plays every now and then too and we didn't want to create a new account for her so, it's spanish for Carlos and Lu

It definitely has the potential to be. I've been chased off of a generator that was almost done, and by the time I got unhooked and went back to the generator, it was right back to zero.
And where were your teammates?! Was that solo or you didn't communicate? I mean, when I 90% a gen and the killer with Ruin goes after me I just say out loud to my SWF "I left a 90% gen by shack, go finish it before Ruin get's it broken"

@Peanits said:
I don't mean to sound like I'm strongly against it or anything, but I do thing this sorta' undermines the point of a hex perk. The idea behind a hex is that you get a strong effect, but risk it being taken away.
On a more technical level, this would probably cause some issues when you have multiple hex perks, since you'd quickly run out of dull totems for your hex to respawn on.
But, do you really believe the new ruin is a "strong perk"? It's pretty useless by it's own in my experience
And yes, no dull totems would mean no respawn, so, that's on the killer

What's the different between
1- looping shack and droping pallet before first hit, but continue to loop shack until hurt and goes to another loop.
2- loop shack until hurt, then loop until pallet drop.
Answer- you only get 1 chance in the second. If you miss a turn or something in the first one, you can eat a hit and reset the loop. Meaning you can go for more agressive loops since you aren't hurt yet and have a safe net.
If you're already hurt, you can't take chances. Can you reach the other loop without a pallet? Maybe. But is it worth it to risk it?
Which is why it's better to use pallets when you're healthy. Because you can risk more while healthy.
If you wait to be injured before dropping pallets, it's harder to risk extending your loops and connecting adjacent stuff to it.
Which is why my policy is " If this pallet will save you a hit, drop it"
The difference radicates in the psychologycal impact of a non dropped pallet in the killer's behaviour, a killer who respects pallets is gonna give you 1-3 extra loops every time they stop close to the pallet cause they think you're gonna drop it, and a killer who doesn't respect pallets will hit you but you're gonna get a free stun out of dropping the pallet on his head now that you know he's not gonna respect it. If you drop it before being hit the killer will destroy it and then you can still loop him around shack, but there will be no pallet to apply pressute to the killer on those next loops after the pallet drop

Killer perks are much more stronger than survivor perks.
And still it is perceived that the "power role" inclines towards them.
I'm not saying this as a Killer main, I'm a rank 1 killer AND survivor who plays the same amount of games on both sides, I just want the "revenge behaviour" to be over, I never run Ruin and as survivor I wouldn't mind cleansing another totem with my SWF if that helps the perception of balance

No! Bad survivor! Stop! We need attention to buff weak killers first to help more people play killer and therefore improve queue times!
-
Maps, pipping sistem, emblems sistem, legion and clown need reworks
Bubba needs buff
Keys need a timer to open hatch (10 secs would be nice)
Ebony memento mori should only work after all survivors have been hooked at least once and instead of death hook
Everything else is fine in my book

The problem is that you need to be near a locker in the first place, also you don't scream when entering the locker slowly I think.
Yeah, but it helps to know when Docs usually blast, for example, as soon as he lifts a downed survivor try to find a locker if you're near the guy cause 1 out of 2 things, either the Doc is gonna blast as soon as he hooks the surv to get easy preys or he has whispers and will blast if you see him getting close to you. But yeah, true, you need lockers closeby for this strategy
-
Another tip: You can't drop pallet if you scream, watch out for Docs who shock you on loops, they know about this and abuse it.

I think I didn't write enough about that one, I think shack pallet should only be used to stun or prevent a hit from the killer if you're gonna be downed on next hit regardless of in which hook state you're in, that's what I meant by "doomed", and all of this based in this logic:
You can loop the killer 2 "rounds" if you take 1 hit and don't drop pallet but continue to loop the killer there and then drop the pallet to prevent yourself being downed cause of 2nd hit by doing so.
I just can't stand people who loop 1 "round", drop pallet without being injured even once and then proceed to leave the shack useless and without using the 2 god loop "rounds" the shack can actually provide.
Is this better?

I have let people die on hook for doing this... not gonna lie.
All 2 of them. In the same game. We all died. XD
@Carlosylu I don't like the shack pallet one. People are too protective of pallets. They are there to eat a health state for you. They can't be wasted when used that way.
"I went down but I didn't waste shack pallet"
"Yeah, but now I gotta go save your ass from the hook, meaning I can't work on gens, if you used the pallet we could have 2 more gens finished by now, but since the killer is chasing claudette over there and I gotta save you, only the rando over there is working on gens...maybe."
I don't care if the pallet is godly, don't take a hit you don't need to

Does that actually work - meaning does it determine the item on opening or when the chest is first touched? Anyone know?
Yes, I've done it in several games with my usual 4 men SWF, 3 of us 99 chests and the plunderer's gamer opens them all getting green+ items in all of them without wasting all his time in opening them all 100%.
-
No = Dedicated servers are broken now for PS4, I don't want that for xbox, I preffer lobby dodging based on the killer's ping as host, I don't know, just my opinion
Yes = DC if not cause of uncontrollable matters should be a thing. BUT! They need to fix maps, pipping and emblems as well as buff clown, legion and bubba in order for DCing cause of map being a concern not a justifiable thing
-
Ranks could be based on player's stats, not pips, like, hours played as each role, escape or kill average rate, characters average level and prestige, etc. Thoughts?

From the 3.5.0 patch notes:
- Gatekeeper Emblem: Flattened score value of all remaining generators so now all generators are worth the same amount (1 point per minute) regardless of the duration that they remain in the match. Also added an additional score for both gate remaining unopened at the end of the match.
So, the fact that gens are done early game still affects emblems but not as much as it did before? Or am I missunderstanding?

My best guess is the current state of DbD is pissing off a lot of killer players who are taking it out on survivors. Traditionally it's been the other way around but times are a changin

You forgot a good one, don't waste 4-5 minutes slugging for the 4k unless the last survivor reveals themselves to you for free.
As a killer I feel it's a huge waste of my time, as a survivor it's annoying having to sit in a locker for 4 minutes while they never find me and some guy bleeds out.
Added it for killer, hehehe

It's more common the lower in rank you go because it isn't very rewarding for the most part and won't let you pip up easily or past a certain rank. So if you've been like green ranks or above for a while it makes sense that you wouldn't have seen very much of it since at that point the killers are playing to rank up and not just cheese the game.
No man, that's the problem right there, I'm always a red rnak, right now I'm a red rank 1 survivor and killer both

Letting someone think they're getting hatch and closing it on their faces, same for exit doors, let the survivor open it, down him, let him crawl to the end and grab him before he leaves.

That is not really always a fact, because some gens have a higher value than other, and because of that 3 people working in it for example is better than 1 trying to get it all done

-
@Infinity_Bored said:
Your math might work if a killer is afk or dumb enough to chase one person for too long.
There is no black and white. It depens on the killer, the map and the perks. Not every group is SWF. I queue solo all the time and if i can choose between a repaired gen and two nearly repaired gens, ill take the single one.
I think it happens quite often, I go towards gens as soon as the match starts, the moment I find someone I down him as fast as I can and proceed to hook him/her. If they were a good team you'll se 3 gens pop in around 90 seconds into the game, if they weren't a good team you'll se 1 or maybe 2 gens pop.
Now, if the match starts, I traverse the map and I find 3+ on gens, they're all gonna get a hit and have to heal, if they're dumb enough I'll down 2+ right there.
Have in mind old ruin is gone, so this is quite common, have in mind I'm not even talking about toolboxes or perks to fast fix gens or the fact that I need to place traps as trapper and they're gonna have about 30 seconds free of chase whyle I place them

The range is only 16 meters, and you've got 10 seconds to leave that area. Even if you spend the first six seconds in a staring contest with the survivor, you'll have enough time to leave that radius before the penalty kicks in. It shouldn't cause any problems unless you're really taking your time to set up or grab hatchets (looking at the hags out there who place all ten traps leading out of the basement).
Even if it does start before you leave, it only knocks off three points ever second, whereas a single hit will give you more than 50. It's pretty negligible unless you're really hanging around or facecamping.
Thanks!
