According to jflick Blight who admitted to not playing survivor. Seems legit.
-
Survivors on totems are typically more greedy, thinking they'll go unnnoticed/ignored in favor of the survivors on gens and they also like to try to finish cleansing, giving you a possible grab. At worst you get a free hit and you rotate to the people on gens, or commit to the an already injured totem hunter if the gen jockeys ran early.
-
I'm gonna ignore power-specific powers.
Firstly, not everything has to be able to be countered 100% of the time. That would make the counter itself unbalanced by definition. BT bodyblocking is necessary to add a risk to camping, otherwise you'd have a 100% chance to always get a trade or a down, which is something you have a very high chance of achieving anyway.
In general, always try to pick a hook in a more open spot without bottlenecks. It's almost impossible for them to bodyblock you if there aren't enough obstacles in the area.
If they manage to do it efficienltly, then we're moving from countering to mitigating. You have to decide if you want to put them in deep wound (game stalling) but also give the speed boost (extra distance), or just wait out the timer and chase them at whatever loop they are. If they go for a vault, you can also grab them and bypass BT, but you might eat a DS.

Um not really sure what you mean, he didn't claim to fame by jflicking. He has played without using it and getting good results.
"It doesn't work with line of sight if the Blight has eyes." You could say this for any killer to be honest.
If you aren't even going to listen to the arguments I see no point further engaging in discussion with you.
You didn't post this in the media lounge. Nobody is therefore expected to watch the video to participate in the discussion. If you want to provide a summary of the video yourself for discussion, you're encouraged to do so. But literally nobody is expected to give a content creator free exposure outside of the appropriate section.
If you don't want to engage with me in a discussion after I provided an articulated argument of why jflicking isn't healthy, thus answering the subject of your thread, it's totally your free and respectable choice.
-
I'm not really inclined to give him free views, as his content often shows other bug exploits, like the locker check one and all his claim to Blight fame is based off jflicking.
In absence of a tl;dw then I'll go off the brief summary in the op.
The jflick is not healthy for the game. It removes counterplay in most situations on a killer who's already strong in the absence of this confirmed exploit.
I saw a twitch clip on this forum where he argued against Scott's video trying to present a sort of 'counterplay' to the jflick, where you fake turning around the corner and then keep going. Just in case the same argument is referenced in this video, that supposed counterplay is extremely flawed.
It doesn't work with line of sight if the Blight has eyes.
It's extremely likely to fail anyway because Blight has an almost 180° hitbox for obscure reasons. So, he can connect during the flick anyway.
All the Blight has to do is literally be patient and do an extra rush instead of jflicking immediately. The survivor gets hit if they anticipate the jflick on the first rush, or they get hit by jflick on the subsequent rush.
Even if the Blight is impatient and fails, his power literally counters holding W. So, the survivor is doomed anyway.
You want to help Blight? Then fix his collision on slams. That's what he needs.

If she unhooked right in front of you then you ######### up. You could've easily re-downed them and she'd have no DS. Not a BT issues, but simply your mistake in not capitalizing on obvious bad plays by your opponents.
-
I'm not calling for nerfs, just answering the question. And the answer is that there's more than one huntress main among the devs. I mean, they even let her keep her exhaustion add on after taking them away from anyone else (and yes, 5 seconds are still very impactful and unlikely to recover during a chase).
They didn't even attempt to improve her
truckhatchet hitboxes, even though they're more capable to make more accurate ones now after Deathslinger and Trickster. -
Complaining about DS is so 2020.
-
Hook swarming only harms them. They're giving you free pressure on multiple people and immediately removing hook time.
-
This was actually a great bait. You get my seal of approval.
-
Are you telling me that the game is purposefully made so I can't 4k every single time?
Unacceptable. I demand a refund.
-
the very last survivor refuses to cooperate in his unavoidable death.
So, where and when do you hand out your killer's rulebook for survivors?
-
0/10 bait
-
Iirc in the post where they said they were going to change it back then, that 's exactly how it was supposed to work i.e. you always get the delay.

Yes, the lack of killers is getting noticeable.
But people still call for killer nerfs. *shrugs*
Don't overgeneralize. There are many regions. My killer queues have been distinctively worse lately.
-
What makes you think that new match making will be better?
If you want to play solo, I suggest keeping your expectations low and setting a goal for yourself like raking up as many points as possible.
-
It's an animation bug. A fairly recent one. Definitely not a perk and not foul play either.
-
I don't use noed. I don't give up bbq.
I don't use object. I don't give up wglf.
-
The skill check stops at the end of the success zone. If you pressed the button after that moment, you didn't fail it, you simply didn't attempt it technically.

My summary is quite accurate.
So, to summarize quite accurately, you've got nothing to contribute. Fair enough.

Long winded way of saying just camp and 3gen but you do you.
I prefer well-reasoned at the risk of being long-winded, rather than concise and misleading, like your summary of what I said.
But if you want to offer something to the conversation, I'm happy to listen to it.

I'm a former Billy main. Bubba is currently one of the strongest killers in the game. Very underrated because many players still keep picking him to simply troll and camp.
Just like any other killer with default mobility, he needs to be played territorially. That's where he shines by creating dead zones faster than arguably anyone else. At that point he snowballs with ease.
He deals with pallets much more easily and faster than Billy, who has to manage when to bait by feathering, respecting, not respecting and curving. And if he fails any of that he gets punished.
Bubba literally needs to just pull up his chainsaw and dash, not even mind gaming if he doesn't want to. He either gets the down or the pallet. The counter is to stun him mid dash, but dedicated servers can't handle that at all even before this patch. Even when timed correctly, 9 out of 10 times the survivor gets the stun score event, but Bubba doesn't get stunned and chainsaws the pallet, sometimes with an awkward animation while servers make up their minds. Then he's right on top of the survivor. And that's if they don't get hit through the pallet in the first place.
Also, I don't understand what 'using windows against him even with Bamboozle' even means. Unless it's a Bubba who just predictably beelines to the window and the survivor runs early (with all the associated risk), there's no using a window. That's literally the point of the perk. Window's blocked, throw pallet or get chainsawed. It's not rocket science. It's his best perk without a doubt.
And did I mention they actually buffed his camping and he's able to down survivors through BT now?
Holding W works only with a significant lead already. However, if you pick up Bubba and start running from a corner to the opposite one of the map you're gonna get stomped. The issue is not mobility, but bad map management.
-
In a age rated game with a filter as right as the one they implemented? At this point it's probably just a way to cut down on reports for chat abuse so they don't have to deal with that.

People are allowed to do it but it still boggles me how they can complain about something that they are contributing too. You might aswell get an insiduos basement camping bubba to start complaining about facecamping.
What is this? Victim shaming DbD edition? Facecamper gonna facecamp win or lose.
-
I don't think the issue is the volume per se, but rather the inconsistency. Sometimes (rarely) footsteps are perfectly audible for me. Then the next game they're incredibly faint and then they're completely missing when I'm next to a running survivor OUTSIDE chase.
-
Chests are part of the game, just like stuns for example. They can't control the default rarity of chest items just like killers can't control if stuns work properly.
These ones are for the devs to fix, not the players' fault.
-
The map offering (green one) can actually fail. The modifier is not 100%, but 99.99% if I remember correctly.
I've seen it happen only twice in 2.3k hours.

@FrostySeal said:
Not everything in this game needs counterplay. Some things will just be unfair, and you'll have to accept it.
This^. Both sides have these. Not everything can be made perfectly balanced in every single scenario on a micro level. It's unrealistic and unfeasible.

It's almost as if we're all people playing a game and not an actual big bad guy with a sharp weapon against some folks that will die real life... mindblown.gif

At red ranks for me are noticeably longer now. Pallets have been bugged for a while now. The same reaction happened when there was the desync issue.

Thats the spaghetti-Code. Like, they change a Perk and suddenly Freddy has a pink hat.
The best part is that they broke stuns in a patch where they introduced an exhaustion perk that literally requires to stun the killer to have any value.
-
I still don't understand how they managed to break the stuns in the first place. Amazing.

If you have time to heal, you are NOT being tunneled.
Should I say anything else? Or is it clear enough?
The rework is still pretty inconsistent on this aspect.
If you have time to get healed you're not getting tunneled either. Except you still get to keep DS. But if you simply tap self-care it's gone.
You can also use Inner Strength or Second Wind and still keep DS, which doesn't make much more sense either.
I'd much prefer that the perk deactivated once healed to healthy state and it would be more reasonable from a gameplay point of view. Even 99'ing wouldn't be abusable in that case, because you can't still do anything else.

I've been working on Multi-Tasker as well. I've come to the conclusion that Pig might be the best killer for this achievement. Along with having the built-in slowdown and distraction of reverse bear traps, she has one very distinct advantage: Snoot Boops. Find two survivors willing to boop you and you can get several achievement points in one match.
That's a pretty good one 🤣
That aside, I just got it with Wraith. I figured survivors would be more willing to take hits against a somewhat weak killer and it worked out.

No, it's not tunneling. If you hook the survivor and they are unhooked in your face before you have the chance to leave, you can NOT call it tunneling. What do you want the killer to do?
Please learn what tunneling is. Clearly you don't know, and that's the issue with "tunneling" these days. Survivors piss and moan about it and don't actually know what it is.
I don't want the killer to do anything other then what they want to do. If they want to go for the unhooker or the rescuer is their choice. I do either according to the circumstances. The fact that they were unhooked in my face doesn't change the fact that I went after the same person, if I choose to do so. Even more so when the rescuer is readily available. You're simply avoiding to call a spade a spade due to the stigma attached to tunneling as a tactic.
I know perfectly well what tunneling is. Trying to straw man me just invalidates your argument even further.

Farming the Multi Tasker achievement with agitation and mad grit and having some good laughs.
Sorry to hear about your current predicament, but your forum sistas and bros are here to carry you through the good and the hard times.

It's not tunneling if they were unhooked in your face before you were given a chance to leave. That's capitalizing on a survivors awful play.
In that case, it's not camping. It's tunneling if you go against the freshly rescued. That's not mutually exclusive with capitalizing with a mistake of the opposing team.

I get it now. It would make sense because why should it activate if a killer is on the other side of the map???
It matters because high mobility killers would work around a distance condition. The TR is already a pseudo-distance condition for them.
If you're on the other side of the map and can't immediately make it back, it doesn't matter if it procs. You're not camping and you're not gonna get hit by it. On the other hand, if you can show up at the hook in no time even if the unhook was safe formally, then you should be subject to a BT proc.

Almost every power has good and bad loops to be used at.

its the one addon that makes him viable
its such a simple change that would give him a decent boost in strength basekit and it's requested so much its not even funny.
theres no reason it shouldnt happen.
His shred is already perfectly viable. Without the add-on it just requires a little better timing instead of being trivial. But it's already great. I always use portal add-ons.
-
It doesn't need it anyway.
-
They actually made the perfect change. I'm in shock. And I'm totally not saying this because it's the exact change I suggested many times in this forum. But I gotta give credit where credit's due.
A quick note, a distance-based condition would've simply meant high mobility killer could've just eluded the perk.
If you don't like the change, I've got the perfect suggestion for you: go for the unhooker. Insert mindblown.gif
-
This game stops being 'horror' after 10 hours, like any other horror game. It's desensitization and it has nothing to do with soloq strength.
-
It's suppose to deactivate when the conditions in the perk descriptions are met. Opening the exit gates is not one of them.
-
Since DS was nerfed, I don't see any survivor build that has the potential to be 'evil' anymore right now. Unless we're talking about keys. You can pretty much run the full meta simply for game health and QoL purposes, which sounds like what you're looking for.. That would be the usual suspects, i.e. exhaustion alongside DS, UB and either BT, Deliverance or Adren. You can throw in a medkit. If they call you out for stacking second chances/crutches, then they're simply living in the pre-4.6 patch LaLa land.

Yes, it can happen. But isn't it an exploit to toss a hatchet at a solid object in order to hit a target behind it due to wonky hitboxes? I'm not talking about anything accidental, like hitting a survivor who just rounded a corner or anything of the sort. I'm talking about seeing a survivor hide behind a wall, trying to get a better angle for three seconds without getting a clear shot, and then just hucking the axe banking on the hitboxes messing up so badly that you get a hit through solid cover.
It's not an exploit because the hitboxes are working as intended aka extend beyond the player's (and even the hatchet's) model. It's been like that since the beginning. It's kinda silly but they are uncapable or unwilling to fix it.
