Ash.

Then every Legion would just run Enduring and get a free hit at every single pallet no matter what the survivor does.
-
I call it the I-can't-go-after-the-person-who-just-got-unhooked build.
Killers call it second chances. Survivors call it give them a chance. Semantics, ain't it fascinating?
-
Trying to dodgd a hit is not a tech. It's normal gameplay. The game acting up in return is simply the game being #########.
-
Oof! This thread will get heated pretty fast, I reckon.
Anyway, I don't really hate her. I think she has a very nice design aesthetically, with a fundamentally flawed power that BHVR won't address because of their usual sunk-cost fallacy.
Remember when they said the new hud was going through because of 'months of work'? Same with Spirit's status. They spent 30k on her development. So, I figure she's pretty much untouchable at this point.
I only play as her for dailies with a machine gun build: stbfl, unrelenting, corrupt and bbq. I go for jumpscare hits.
The standstill mInDgAmE? I honestly do it, because in reality it's not a 50/50. I mean, it's a coin flip for the survivor to guess if a phase is happening or not. But the thing is, it's irrelevant if they guess right or not. Even if they guess correctly that you're phasing, you just track them. It's really that simple. When the bug caused the phasing sound in terror radius, you could play just fine, exactly for that reason.
Other than that, I'm really not interested. Spirit is a tracking killer with a guaranteed hit. People who talk about prediction are playing incorrectly, that's when they find her hard. The only real 50/50s are at god pallets/windows, which just take a few more seconds to be dealt with. Heck, they even shadow buffed her recently when they made grunts from slow vaulting louder (you could already hear them during phasing).
P.S. forgot about passive phasing. Why is that even a thing,? Or, rather, I should say passive mINDgAmINg. She's the qUeeN oF mINDgAmINg, after all.

"Well, at least it was over quickly.'"

The problem with Bubba and pallets is called dedicated servers. Survivors need to get the stun. If they time it right, 9 out of 10 times they get the score event. And Bubba still gets the pallet.

Played like 6 games with this challenge active yesterday and ended up with 1/3...
The fall a great distance while being chased challenge sucks as well, considering there’s only a handful of maps that meet their criteria for “great heights”
I would've progressed for 2 in one game and then this Kate I unhooked managed to go down twice before the safe unhooks. With Borrowed Time. And the Wraith was literally camping. So, there was no other way to unhook her.

His basekit is good. Add-ons push him over the top, imho.
-
It would be game-breaking. It could be used for a separate game-mode, but not as the main game.
-
Usual soloq + archive challenges = recipe for disaster.

Out of interest how do you agree to farm with survivors? Is this easier to coordinate on PC?
I don't like the idea of this but I suppose to get an absurdly annoying challenge I would.
Approach a gen and start hitting it repeatedly until they get the message.
-
I think the word you were looking for are: 'Bait opinion: the pallet stun bug was great.'
-
Bond is the best one. Always active and the range is meaningful for every decision you need to take. Aftercare is sexy, but the actvation and reset conditions are too much to be sufficiently consistent.
-
Hag, Freddy, Spirit, Plague, PH, Twins, Trickster.
Darn, that's a lot.

Now I get what you meant. If that's the case then it's a poorly designed challenge. Hope I don't have to Insidious camp hooks with CP.
That's exactly what I was gonna do. It's 2 survivors, with a single stream of vomit, twice in a trial. I don't want to waste any more time on this ridiculity than needed.
Then I'll let everyone go, because it's gonna be so toxic compared to how I normally play, that I feel infected as well already.
-
You were warp speed on this one. Thanks as usual!
-
Wasted perk slot. At least, with Remember Me the survivors have to actually be at the exit to fight the perk. With No Way Out, they see the Entity's spikes and they can just chill hiding in a corner until the timer runs out.
-
The short version is: because devs.
This is the long version. Because killer perks could interact with different powers with extremely different consequences. The devs would have to balance every perk keeping in mind every single power and update old perks for every new power.
Self-preservation, on the other hand, is 'theorically' type-agnostic in this regard. If a nearby survivor is attacked, you basically become a ghost. There are no unforeseen interactions. In theory. In reality, it doesn't mask killer instinct. So, for example, Legion or the Twins could counter that exactly with their special attacks.
There's also the issue that some killer perks get the basic hit treatment, while others are left out of it. Or, it even gets removed. And there's seemingly no logical explanation for thar. See Infectious Freight, that it's a completely different perk on high-mobility and insta-down powers, compared to other more m1-ish killers. And it did have a basic attack condition, before it got removed.
In conclusion, as I said, we can try to rationalize as much as we want. But in the end, things in this game are like they are because... they are like they are. Unironically.
-
Sprint Burst is extremely powerful and hands-down the one perk to get deadzone gens and even win chases before they start.
-
Start with Wraith, but don't hit'n'run until you've learned how to chase. Getting a first free hit is fine, but after that you need to practice actual chases.
BBQ, corrupt, nurses and a free perk. Sloppy or pop, if you want to tryhard. I'm All Ears is a good one to get familiar with pathing.
-
Why would you destress with a pvp game? Try co-op or single player.

I don't SWF very often and when I do it's typically with one other person, at most with two. Unfortunately I don't think I can coordinate something like that. I have to hope for a farming round where the Killer and Survivors are off playing knock down - pick up, I think! 😥
Ask the other survivors in the lobby to 99 gens because you're doing a challenge. If there's no Ruin, they often accept. Then use bond plus open handed and keep track of what gens were worked on. Also, Gideon is probably the best map for this, because you can keep your teammates in aura range and immediately rotate.
There's always some luck needed, but randoms are often surprisingly accomodating when you ask them for help for stuff like that.
For me the hardest challenges were the 'stun the killer X times in a single trial'. It always seems like they respect for half mile away whenever an archive with that challenge comes out. I think every time I completed that one, it was against a Billy with endfury.
-
Same reason why they don't show the killer's ping. People would just dodge, which would inflate queue times.
And even if they showed the info only post-match, the complaints would increase tenfold.

If Spirit has no counterplay, than she is stronger than Nurse, right?
Flawed conclusion. Old moonwalking Legion had no counterplay too. Were they stronger than Nurse?

I can see that it is a part of the problem and explains a lot of the losses but what I can't understand is how I got so much worse in chases vs killers, especially against brand new killers, many of them just started playing the game.
I do much better vs players who played the game for some time then vs new players for some reason.
Shouldn't experienced players do better than new players?
A video might help narrowing down the problem.
In general, if you do worse against newer players, it's because you're thinking one level too deep. Newer players tend to hold W more than doubling back, whether killers or survivors. So, just take them for a ride as you run tiles on the optimal path as they simply follow.
-
It doesn't make only scratch marks far away hard to see. On certain maps you can't see the marks in front of you because they get buried under the grass. And in general, when marks are visible, you can track just the same as without the perk.
-
They're close in strength level. But Nurse gives feedback. Spirit doesn't. And the skill levels required to perform proficiently with them are worlds apart. Those are the general reasons.

They haven't found a solution for keys yet?
There are achievements and archive challenges tied to keys. Achievements that they're unable or unwilling to change on console.
Any alteration to key mechanics needs to take that into account.
In this regard, as well as others, moris were much more straightforward to change.
-
After 2.3k hours, I still get startled when an immersed survivors suddenly slams a pallet on my head when I'm just minding my business.
-
The devs don't seem to be very keen to revert any changes that required more than a few work hours to implement.
And even then, one thing I can tell you for sure. They will never implement in this current era a killer with 40% slowdown basekit. Especially, because the dream transition would be unavoidable due to incapacitated. And even without that, self-care is not meta anymore, which back in the days was a counter to Freddy. Stacking slowdown perks, on the other hand, is very much meta. And that would spell disaster if this reversal proposal went through.
-
Don't blink right on top of them. You want to be within lunge range. At the end of your blink, hold W for the shortest moment before lunging.
If you happen to lose track of them because they're too close, you need to 360 on the spot during your attack.

is there other substitutes, i was thinking of whispers nurses calling or bitter murmur will it be good cuz i dont own all dlc and i think these perks are also pretty good
Whispers would be the best choice then. OhTofu has a guide on how to use the perk.

Make it the same as oni ithink that's what they tried to do but then the lunge part messed it up
Oni can actually jflick, but it was popularized mostly by Blight mains. Regardless, they haven't fixed Oni either.

Thrilling Tremors.

They've been purposefully not answering that question.
They literally said we're free to speculate AKA they thought they patched something, they didn't test it, they accidentally buffed something else that lends to the same result, they don't know if they can fix it, so they just don't give straight answers on the topic.
I'd be happy to be proven wrong, though.

Fairly certain at least Xbox straight up disallows developers from interfering with its party chat in any way whatsoever. What should they do about that?
And obviously BHVR disagrees with you anyway, as they don't simply begrudgingly allow it because they can't stop it. They let the Discord have channels for it, they let their Fog Whisperers do it live on stream, they do it themselves - that's not signs of a company that just tries to sweep it under the rug because they can't get rid of it. Your stance is incompatible with BHVR's, and with the modern gaming industry at large.
Mods and devs straight up said that comms are allowed on this forum.
You're correct about Xbox and I'm pretty sure PS is the same.
-
Stealth. If she finds you, try to run to a god pallet/window. Those are the only real 50/50s if she's tracking via sound. Rush the gens. If you see someone getting injured, then spam fast vaults away from her to cover the sounds of your teammate.
That's it. There are other tips, but those imply that the Spirit is trying to predict rather than track, which is incorrect for her.
-
It may depend on region, crossplay and ranks. For me, going from the afternoon and later, trials become increasingly easier. At a certain point , I can 4k 9 out of 10 trials while eating my dinner. However, earlier in the day I get mostly comletent survivors.
-
There was a bug with rank reset yesterday and many players' ranks were regressed more than intended. You probably faced some of those players who were high ranks until one day ago. In other words, yes, you were unlucky.

I think she needs a rework. It's not her strenght the issue. Although, she has some addons that are overboard. But her issue is not being top tier. Rather it's the flawed design of her power.

People would just self care under the hook and the killer wouldn't be able to do much about it (Unbreakable still exists).
That really wouldn't be that big of an issue. It would be the same as now when they're being healed under the hook. The trade would be that it deactivates on healthy state, which is a buff for the killer.
The idea is a QoL change overall, for the survivors and the killers.
Current DS: they get healed under the hook. It's 16 seconds of heal time at base, or a total of 32 seconds of missed gen time over 2 survivors. But they keep DS.
Scenario 1: If you interrupt them, the unhooked takes aggro and you slug. Then same as you said, they get up with unbreakable and the other one gets away.
Scenario 2: they finish the heal in your face. But they keep their DS. With my proposed change, they would actually lose DS.
With the proposed change, self-caring under the hook would fall in an analogous situation to scenario 1 if they get interrupted. But they would lose DS if they finished the heal. And if they didn't, they still can't do anything else for a minute.

Fortunately one of them is a twitch streamer so I sent a link to his video of it all
Now, that's a smoking gun if it was intentional.
-
It's reportable, but they probably won't be banned without video evidence. There've been situations where players have randomly teleported on top of rocks. Then, it should also be clear if they're stuck or not.
-
Can't tell if it's intentional, but it works the same with other passive heals, like Second Wind. Actually, even if you start cleansing against Plague you keep your DS. I haven't tested fully cleansing, but I don't think it would deactivate it.
@MadLordJack said:
Getting fully healed doesn't deactivate DS (though it really, really should). Performing the "healing" action, whether on yourself or someone else, does.
I think they should switch it around, where changing health state by any means (excluding deep wound) deactivates DS, but the act itself of self-healing shouldn't (again, unless completed). I don't think it would be abusable at all. Actually, it would be better for the killer in many regards. It would also avoid cheese situations where DS gets deactivated accidentally, or where stealth killers just follow the unhooked and jump on them as soon as they start self-caring (looking at you, Blendette).
-
You say it's a bug. I'll quote my homie and say "you're free to speculate".
