Obviously hex perks are different and have special conditions lol. Geez think before you tell others to think smh.
" A perk should not have deactivation conditions no matter how much you don't like it."
If you are going to go into a thread and only half read it so be it.

What does hex perks have to do with a situational perk on a short timer?
" A perk should not have deactivation conditions no matter how much you don't like it."
Again think before you type.

No. A perk should not have deactivation conditions no matter how much you don't like it. A survivor can legitimately try to hide in a locker and you want their perk disabled. That's a new level of entitlement and this is why the devs should not listen to biased killer mains.
So you are arguing Hex perks should be always on, think before you type please.

"It rewards bad gameplay" excuse me for getting insanely tunneled for no reason and having to use it 🙆♀️
When I play killer I very rarely get affected by DS as many people claim, it's exaggeration at its peak, and old enduring affecting DS was abused to no ends, since it was barely a 1 sec stun and you could just hit them back as soon as they dropped, killers ain't the victims all the time.
Stop blaming Killers for your teammate's mistakes.

I mean since when has any killer done well on Coldwind maps or indoor maps? They're bad for everyone. Indoor maps are only decent for stealth killers.
The killer you responded to me earlier with. Coldwind is her best map.

The fact that so many people are claiming that he is weak is more telling of the average skill level of Killers on these forums than anything xD
That's all.
Okay sir what magically makes him good, is it the fact that he can't use his power to deal with pallets, or That his power sucks on maps that are too open and maps that are too claustrophobic, but please tell me what I am missing because I see no reason to pick this killer over the litany of other killers in the game because other killers do what he does, but better.

Huntress is much more map dependent than him, at least Blight has a 115% move speed in a chase
Dude play The blight on Coldwind or any open map and also any indoor map, He's bad.

Not all of us that play killer get that bent up about keys.
What’s next? DC on map offerings? oh wait some of you already do that. I forgot.
Man it's almost like the reason people are DCing is because the Devs have problems addressing issues the Community have brought up,
and if you have think that anyone on either side wants to suffer though Midwich you are out of your mind (who thought directly translating a map in a singleplayer game to a multiplayer game wouldn't work!)

Like I said in another post, those Survivors are not doing anything special. Nobody is good with the new Killer at this point and most people dont even have decent Perks. And honestly, if they think they are godlike, because they beat a Level 8 Blight with 2 Perks, I would just laugh it off.
(At least I think it is the easiest to not be mad when you clearly cannot do better with the Killer, because he is new)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1606263#Comment_1606263
The thing is, you dont have any control of what the other side is doing. If they want to teabag, they teabag. The only thing you can do is not being that person who tries to mock other players. But you have control over how much it affects you, and in the end, this is a game and it is supposed to be fun.
But could be just me, because I am quite used to toxic communities.
For me it just rolls off my back, but it's still disappointing and I do genuinely believe these people are that delusional.

Unless the killer can teleport to gens, have a passive slowdown and survivor slowing abilities all at the same time most killer mains are gonna hate any new killer that needs some practice.
Or maybe he's just bad.
I have never seen a more map dependent killer.

I mean everyone complained Deathslinger was weak and he needed to be changed, and look where we are. They demand him nerfed. Give it a month. 'NERF Blight!' will come!
Yes, but Deathslinger is still weak. The only reason these nerfs are wanted is because people can't loop a killer who's power counters loops
¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
The Blight's power is objectively bad at loops especially without the power to break pallets while in his rush.

It isnt. Thats why I am not doing it.
But to repeat it - you get mad for people "mashing that control button".
New killers bring out the worst in the player base for some reason. The amount of BNPs that survivors are using right now is insane, so while yes teabagging is whatever. People are being dicks while everyone is learning a new killer and it's disappointing.

Agreed. I get annoyed every time I see a bunch of white knights running to thinking girls don't want that "Fan Service" that's in games. Like sure sometimes we don't want League of Angels big boob hooker boots unporportioned impossible women, but like we're not going to freak out over a character having a thong. Like the recent Meg cosmetics in the rift, everyone loves them.
Yeah meg leaves a lot less to the imagination, and there is nothing wrong with that.

So you admit a piece of cloth is sexual. Is that because you can't handle how you feel about it. Thongs aren't sexual and wearing one doesn't make it sexual either.

Losing isn't the issue. It's not fun to be at a severe disadvantage when in a mind game. Your standpoint is one from 2018. Just stop. When you're being chased by a Trapper, or a Hag, or any other killer, really, it's all about who is the better player. The survivor has every opportunity to outplay the killer as the killer does to outplay the survivor. Spirit takes a step backwards there with there being no tell when she goes into her power (unless you're close enough to see it, which is close enough to take a hit) while in a chase (it's not a mind game if you don't know when the mind game begins - and that's where your logic dies), leaving the survivor to guess if she's even using her power, and then on top of that - they now have to guess where she's going, and even if you have Iron Will, and are healthy, and Spirit running Stridor just gets you. Unless they are literally deaf.
Argue with someone you can win against. You're presenting points that have been widely debunked, buried, and had manure spread on them. If you're so afraid of your precious Spirit having a clear tell when she starts using her power, I'm just going to assume it's you who's bad at real mind games.
Do you just want every killer to be a skin like survivors? c'mon man you can't be serious why do killers all have to be beaten the same way? And you aren't debating you are trying to provoke me, but please answer the question.

Winning and fun aren't mutually exclusive if you think they are you may need to broaden your horizons. Plus if you keep throwing you selves at a steel door and it doesn't knock over are you just going to keep throwing yourself at it.

I don't see it that way, at all.
This is a live service now, things will always be tweaked, liked R6 / Destiny 2 etc, people have to accept that, what once seemed bad 8 - 12 months ago might be ideal now, we'll just have to see what they do.
However unlike those companies. BHVR has not slowed their output of new content.

Well the problem is that many also complains about the waiting times to queue. Split the mods and you can be sure the waiting times will be doubled for everyones.
Plus the competitive mode would die quickly (i think) because people wouldnt want to willingly fight sweaty SWF groups.
And it doesnt mean these same groups cant go in normal mode as all the wish is to survive/gen rush/loop the killer to oblivion
Everyone who has left the game that has over 1k hours I can almost guarantee will disagree with you (a competitive mode is needed for people who know the game inside out)
besides the competitive community is going to do their thing with or without anyone's approval just like speedrunning.
-
@ObscurityDragon said:

Nah its not even the problem, but i would rather have like 30 ranks to rank up and make it way harder for surv to rank up (making like rank 10-5 already very good but the place where you enjoy more and ranks 5-1 the ones where you tryhard cause its the hard part, the "competitive" part)
Survivors rank up way too easily.
I think most of it may be cleared with MMr as the tryharders will have a high ranking, but their waiting time will be longer too i think.
Literally all of the problems with the infighting between casual and competitive players. could be solved if the Devs split the lobbies.
The casuals would stop complaining about "tryhards" in their casual game, and the competitive people can just be left alone (that's all we really want especially when we get no support form the devs or the people trying to gate-keep.)
-
Hey @Almo since you are the head of balance what is clowns hidden potential?
-
@Zozzy said:
They don't even listen to their own fog whisperers (cosmetic peddlers) so why would they?
The dev's think they are right and their ideas are the be all and end all, and nothing will change that.
Remember, clown has hidden potential that we just haven't discovered yet.
I still can't believe the head of balancing said that, and then conveniently left out what that potential is.

That is until everyone is going all hard and competitive over a casuals game like they always do...and that kills the fun and the thrill of such a game and thats sad.

SSB is officially considered to be a casual party game, not a competitive fighting game, and they really dislike it when people try to make it competitive.
While I understand your reasoning, but having every game that has you go against another person being competitive even if it is officially denounced? I don't think so.
Yes and the competitive community flourished despite the gate-keeping becoming the biggest esports fighting game of all-time. Put me down as DBD being competitive.

@SloppyKnockout said:
If we're referring to Spirit here - this is a false argument.
Mind games are one thing. Mind gaming a pallet for example - both the killer and the survivor are attempting to mind game the same exact thing at the same time. This isn't the same as Spirit.
With Spirit - not only do you have to guess where she's going, you have to start by guessing if she's actually using her power or faking it to begin with. Which is impossible unless you're close enough for her to hit you, in which case "I guess you got mind games because she faked it when there's no tell 4Head". If she has Stridor? It doesn't even matter if you have Iron Will, if the player has ears, you're just dead usually. It's just a poor design.
Oni for example, or even Freddy (as boring as people say Freddy is, he has many counters). Both are very strong killers, with decent counterplay that can be outplayed by the killer - counterplay that doesn't involve guessing more than one thing at a time. Giving Spirit a specific animation when she starts phasing would remedy this, and it wouldn't hurt her skilled mind game play.
You know what the counter to Stridor Spirit is. Stealth and not getting injured. Sorry that you can't loop her but I don't believe all killers should be loop-able and have yet to find a convincing argument otherwise.

That's not an argument you dont tell someone to look something up. The only thing the community tells me is that these killers have "different counterplay other than looping you have to accurately guess what they will do." Ok cool let's play custom and show me. "No."
My point is its always something that has to so with guesses I offer to play some matches and be showed but it's always I'm not good at survivor or something of that.

I think a lot of the issue comes from the original artist's design aesthetic not really fitting the dbd aesthetic. I was trying to imagine what it would look like if they didn't compromise the original design, and I think it would still look weird af.
The dbd models are too static in their stances and expressions to pull off certain clothing choices. The hair, eyes, glasses, hood, and sweatpants all look good in the original design because of the creator's artistic style. They accounted for Claudette having curves, anime-like features, and cutesy, voluminous hair. DBD claudette is not very curvy, has some of the worst hair choices in the game, and has a realistic face shape.
If anything, this might deter BHVR from selecting winners with less realistic art style choices.
This outfit feels like they picked it because of the style, at the last minute they realized the winner was too stylized but they couldn't back out.
Now we are left with this gray area where no one is really happy with how this contest has gone and are rightfully worried about the Legion skin.
Honestly the artist could submit this cosmetic again next year because their cosmetic isn't getting into the game this time.

Just because it CAN be prepared a number of ways isn’t grounds for behaving like an authority on some of those preparations.
(I’m not saying you in particular pretend. This is just a broad sweeping argument in support of OP statement).
We should give advice on things we have first hand experience with. Anything else is just hearsay and speculation.
How are we calling the open minded people saying just try things are being called close minded, some of us even agree with some of the nerfs being propped up by people. why are we trying to lump individuals in to groups when individuals find the collective statement x has no counterplay is both taking the easy road and patronizing to people who disagree with statement who play survivor.
