2 survivors are meant to be killed by devs, it's fine.
You've got me there.
Damn

Wait for the upcoming hotfix where the perk is being nerfed
Not sure if you saw but, yeah!

At Dead Dawg Saloon, I have never successfully hid in a bush. Every killer cheats with bright Nvidia filters. So you can't hide. Perks need to be fair and balanced, not with this kind of unfairness. These kind of slowdown perks and perks that prevent doing the objective is too strong.
Dead Dawg is one of the most immersion playstyle friendly maps in the game though
And no, saying every killer cheats with filters is just blatantly wrong. Not every killer player has their game lit up like a christmas tree.
Just because you've failed at something, doesn't make it impossible

That is not fair counterplay. The combo is too strong. 45 seconds is a long time to be unable to do the objective. Imagine if a survivor perk caused the killer to be unable to do anything for that long.
You also can't hide in this game. Maps are too bright and sparsely populated.
I mean, it is fair counterplay - the killer will go to the gen and if you used ur game sense and went elsewhere/hid then what's the killer gonna do just sit around and wait for you to come back?
Hell I take back smth I said earlier, pop and DMS DO NOT SYNERGIZE because they both last the same amount of time.
You can hide in this game. Not everybody uses nvidia nintendo 3ds filters sluzzy. I've seen survivors hide in plain sight against competent killers and not get caught.

Survivors have a 4% chance to Kobe. Pig only gets a 6% chance of pulling this off. The other 94% most pigs won't be able to win. Doesn't seem sad to me. Seems totally fair.
The survivor or survivor(s) who get unlucky have a 0% chance of escaping
Seems totally unfair to me
-
I like playing Clown
-
Killer has pain resonance + DMS and you are aware it's in play
Keep working on the generator until you see the survivor start the 'getting hooked' animation. Let the gen explode from it, then stop the regression and use DMS to block it. Then go hide
Now if the killer wants to pop that gen (which they probably will), they have to piss around and wait for it to unblock while you're hiding/off somewhere else.
There's some counterplay for you
-
Of all the anti-loop killers in the game - I'd rather face Demo or him over the others
Tentacle is tricky to play around though. Still not 100% sure what the best course of action against it is

You cannot bodyblock two switches at the same time, but either can be used to escape. If a key is in a box, only that box can remove the trap. That's not the same at all.
That was my point!
A killer bodyblocking an exit gate switch IS the same as survivors bodyblocking for one another and if one side called the other abusing mechanics then I think they would be wrong
But survivors bodyblocking and pigs bodyblocking jigsaw boxes aren't the same. That was what I said
-
@fulltonon said:

So basically, the ability to camp hooks of up to 4 people is the uniqueness of pig I guess.
In a way, yeah
To compare it to hooks - it's like if pig could stop survivors from unhooking their teammates but their teammates hook timer only goes down if they complete a generator.
-
@GoshJosh said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2790009#Comment_2790009
Right, so disable killer powers around hooked survivors, except after all generators are completed. I would even trade BT and DS being deactivated end game for a meaningful change like that.
That's a totally understandable suggestion, I don't know how it would work in practice but It'd help for sure.
I think BHVR should identify the killers who have the problem powers and make tweaks to them so that camping is either less appealing or not impossible to counter. Both sides should have things they can do in the moment so neither side feels completely powerless (no pun intended)

No, it is not a bannable offense and yes it is different from body blocking someone because the game can end. Survivors refusing to do gens because they don't want to activate the traps and die is their own problem.
The only counterplay to this playstyle, is if 3 people get their party hats off - they leave and hope the last person gets the hatch
That's not really healthy for the game. Funny though.
-
@GoshJosh said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2789993#Comment_2789993
Not really much, which is why both should be addressed. Allegedly camping already is, but who knows how and when.
I disagree, camping hooks is fine and should stay.
Facecamping with killers like bubba isn't a game problem, it's a power problem. It's their power that allows them to do it with little to no counterplay
It's not fun, but that's a different matter. Killers don't have fun losing either.
-
@fulltonon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2789977#Comment_2789977
What's the difference to it than camping the hook.
Simple. There's actual recourse/things that can be done about it
Perks like BT and Decisive can help you get out of being camped. Good team coordination can also end a camp
Perks like Kindred/Kinship/Camaraderie help make your teammates aware of it and buy them more time
None of that applies to camping a jigsaw box, they aren't the same.
Hell, camping hooks is valid. It's not fun for some, but it's valid and you can choose to do it when you need to or if it's your gameplan - go for it. Survivors know what to do about it
So, quite a lot actually.
(This is talking generally, some killers can facecamp and basically you can't save like Bubba but talking generally the above still applies to the majority)

I was always a proponent that the killer should be able to push though bodyblocking survivors with maybe 30% speed. The total blocking of movement is so wack and totally out of character. I acknowledge that its a sort of tactic, but dayum!
And the same could be done if a killer bodyblocks a survivor for more then 60s? Then they can slowly push them away till they can use the Jigsaw box.
tbh the problem isn't really that the killer can block the box, it's that the killer can 100% guarantee stop someone from doing a box because they can just camp it.
Which again is totally valid under normal circumstances, but the video tape addon is far from normal circumstances. Killers who do this aren't AFK, they're just not playing the game (in my opinion ofc) so being able to push them away won't do anything.

If he had blocked the wrong box he would have looked like a fool.
The box is an objective, and however he chooses to defend it is his business, how is it different from a trap?
I consider that playing the game, he chose the right box and was rewarded for it. If it was wrong he would have lost.
@BrotherLove said:

Except the killer did play the game. With addons provided by the Devs. The Killer just didn't play the game in a way you like. A 1 in 16 shot may sound like a lost cause to you. But it makes it super rare. What do you think happens after they get their helmets off? The heroes ride off into the sunset? LUL no, I kill them afterwards anways.
It has nothing to do with whether I like or dislike the """playstyle""" because I'm not arguing that it should be changed. I will make the argument however that sitting still doing nothing, isn't playing the game and you shouldn't be rewarded for it IMO.
Play how you want, you're entitled to your fun the same as anyone else - just don't be surprised if people think something is BS or unfair and try to have it changed. That's just how dbd is, we all know it.
That being said, If I were to make a change to address the issue in this thread (I wouldn't bother personally), then I'd go with the change I suggested earlier.
-
That arguments apples and oranges though, if you actually compare the two
Survivors bodyblock to protect their teammates being chased (also known as playing the game). BT can be abused in this way, you aren't wrong about that aspect but overall survivors bodyblocking isn't inherently unhealthy, I don't think
(in this threads example) The killer is deciding to not play the game and just block one of the boxes in hopes that survivors are unlucky and get put in a lose/lose situation where they do gens and die or don't do gens and the game never progresses.
Your post would 100% be right if people were complaining about the killer bodyblocking an exit gate switch to stop survivors from opening it (their fault for 99'ing it in the first place right?)
-
@fulltonon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2789900#Comment_2789900
Definitely not, that is the most unique part of her trap and shouldn't change.
Just remove bodyblocking because that is better if you gonna do that.
No, bodyblocking should remain as a strat - because you can do it tactically. The same way you can bodyblock prepared exit gate switches
And yes, I agree not escaping with an active RBT should stay on NORMAL pig, but with the video tape addon perhaps that should be disabled as a solution to the problems being discussed in this thread
I'm not saying the change should be made, it's a suggestion based on my perspective of the issue. I don't really care myself bc seeing pig players do this is hilarious. Like old facecamping bubba-tier hilarious.

That is interesting, had no clue of this being a thing.
I'd tell you to go on YT and look up 'lag flick blight compilations' but I honeslty would prefer it if you didn't because I watched one of those videos and nearly keeled over at the sheer cringe on display
we're talking loud techno music and dbd gameplay edited like it's a tf2 frag montage from 2008
-
I think the root of the problem isn't that the Pig can block boxes
It's that survivors cannot leave with an active bear-trap on their head. Perhaps this is what needs to be looked at, instead of the addon/playstyle it's being used for
IMO that's the big underlying problem here. I'm not saying nerf pig, I'm saying perhaps problems like this arise because you can be put in situations where you have no recourse - you can't punish the killer for not playing the game by leaving
Here's my solution
Addon and bodyblocking stays
The tape addon has a downside added that survivors can escape while wearing active RBTS.
Boom, sorted - The addon will function exactly the same as it does now by slowing the early game down and it also addresses this problem. If people think it's enough of a reason to be solved I mean.
-
Some blight players figured out a way to use a third party software in a way to 'lag' their games which for some reason messes up Blight's perspective and allows them to get hits they aren't really supposed to
I don't know the full rundown or intricacies of it but I do know it's Blight players using third party software to gain an unintended advantage. I think that's the most important part about it
-
Spies from the shadows...
-
If you're not the obsession, Object only works if the killer has perks, addons etc that reveal your aura.
The seeing the killer every 30 seconds part of object is only if you are the obsession.
Every killer will be revealed by object as long as they aren't undetectable.

Do you record your matches?

I play both blight and nurse decent times and I'm 80% sure blight has much less room for errors than nurse tbh.
When you miss rush with blight, you will slide, miss objects, and get extremely farther away than survivors, even if you stop it with m1, you will suffer from not so fast stun animation.
When you miss a blink with nurse, just wait for a token to recharge and blink once or twice to get close, finish it up with double blink... did you just said nurse correcting her mistake with second blink? that's not how she works in 99% of situation.
You know while killers are moving survivors can move anywhere too? that's the reason why blight has 4.6 speed, since his M2 can be still countered by wall, palettes and windows just like normal killer, he just doesn't work without 4.6.
And yes, I meant the range addon, what it does on paper is one thing, but what it actually does is not, it effectively will increase blink speed, which means much more range to get guaranteed hit survivors can't dodge, and another thing is making her token much more potent, so she can traverse MUCH longer in same timeframe.
basically, since she uses her blink for pretty much all of the movement, increased range is pretty much equivalent to increased speed... of whopping 30%! (I heard her default blink is equivalent to 4.6 killer btw)
Oh also if you think lethal rush can get hit consistently, you probably don't know much about him (or god tier blight who hits lethal 80% of times), maybe try playing him for once or something?
I mean I said I played Blight and don't find lethal rushes super hard to hit, what more do you want? It's my personal experience playing the killer.
Once you understand that Blight's swing hitbox doesn't really collide with objects (meaning you can swing at nothing and still get hits) then it's not rocket science
I don't appreciate having my opinion disregarded with the notion that I haven't played him when I was a Blight main at one point in time, it makes no sense to me how you can say Blight can't get rush hits consistantly when... Yes he can? That's why he's so strong?
-
Yeah some of us talked about this on a thread recently, It's nowhere in the patch notes so it was a shadow change (no pun intended)
By my estimation, the nerf occured sometime between Resident Evil and Hellraiser - my best guess is it was either changed when BHVR went through and made all of the addons show numbers OR it was changed during the patch that Wraith's post uncloak speed was nerfed to the current version
Has to be one of these 2 timeframes I think

I think blight is more like nurse, not in the difficulty category but in how you'd learn it.
Let's use a fighting game to describe it, you can know your opponent is about to grab you but if you don't know the proper way to respond on your reaction then you'll get stomped.
I think blights the same way, sure you can know what to do when and then the issue of execution comes in. Along with that, sometimes a survivor just does something you didn't even consider and it messes up the chain.
I believe he's hard to master, as in Learn every tech and way to play each tile. To start off he's not nearly as bad as nurse but with 2 people trying to perfect it blight has more to master imo.
Tldr: blight is easy to start and do ok with. However trying to get him down and really doing the more advanced things is what makes him hard.
That's a reasonable way of explaining it, you made some solid points. I'd like to say, thank you for your time
I think the fighting game comparison is a bit shaky but the overall logic behind it makes sense. There's def a lot to learn with Blight I'm not disagreeing there - it is a game of reactions, that's why I have a bit of a gripe with his movement speed addons as that reduces the window to make reactions, if that makes sense?
I sometimes think people overstate how hard he is to play, you said yourself he's easy to start and do okay with and maybe that's enough for a lot of people? Would a lot of Blight players still do well if they played perkless and had to rely purely on their knowledge and strength with the killers power? I'm not sure, I know I would struggle for sure.
I can't say it felt necessary for myself to learn the techs and such to do well with him, I just played him 'normally' which I think using Blight terminology is just bump logic right?
A lot of the techs are stuff were often said to be mainly about showing off or just for fun, not intergral to playing Blight well.

Actually I think I figured it out
I think mods need to approve your account first, since on your profile it says you have the 'applicant' role instead of member

Try this link
The 'change my picture' option should be in the sidebar

May I ask to see some of your blight gameplay?
Unfortunately video evidence won't change how playing a character subjectively feels to me, that is why I posted the question in the first place to get the opinions of other people. Maybe I feel like Blight is easy, for one reason or another.
There's nothing stopping me from just playing Blight over and over with the strongest stuff until I 4k decisively and then posting that as some epic rebuttal to your post but that's silly and has nothing to do with what I asked
Do you think Blight is easy to play and not as hard as people say? Please, give me your thoughts if you have the time of course.

It IS weak, if anything it's not even "chasing" in most situation... it's just using time to break palettes.
Like just a palette with 2 rocks are pretty much impossible to hit survivors unless they are potato, power can fix it but power of the blight is also weakest against it, if anything it's worse than m1 depends on situation.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2783260#Comment_2783260
Blight's power without using it for mindgame is pretty much just a movement ability, which won't be "strong power" at all.
And he doesn't have "room for error" most of times, just a missed rush and you are far far away against usual survivors.
His addon doesn't really change what he can do and what you can do against it most of the time, even the alchemist ring doesn't change that.
So no, they are pretty similar, because "If you are better than him, you will win and if he is better than you, he will win".
Forcing him to "chase normally" is pretty much guaranteed win as no good survivor will struggle in chasing against powerless M1 killer.
Oh and nurse HAS addons that makes she move faster in blink AND appear faster (because both is pretty much same thing), and she doesn't need to chase normally simply because her power is balanced around it (unlike blight, which is clearly balanced with 4.6m speed).
A movement ability that you can land hits with very consistantly. Blight has room for error and correction because he has multiple tokens; he can continually bounce on surfaces and wait for survivors to move or if he misses, he can correct that with the use of only one token. Nurse has only 2 blinks which makes the room for error much shorter compared to Blight
As for your comment about the Addons, which ones are you referring to then? Because as far as I know those addons were all removed when she got 'reworked' to have a blink token system.
The purple distance addon? Is that the one that supposedly allows her to move faster/appear faster and such?

When we are remaining silent about cheaters, its often happening in order to break this cycle.
Still, the cycle is only getting stronger somehow. Here is some food for thought: in minecraft you can't fly or run with speedhacks without being automatically kicked out of the game, without any special kind of anti-cheat software, just by the base game itself. In DbD, however, you can.
Something I learned semi-recently
Apparently cheaters can do stuff like hatchet throwing ghostface and a myers that can put RBTs on people because literally every killers power is loaded into a trial regardless if the killer is playing them or not
P sure that's how it works anyway

Being a regular M1 115% without anti-loop in chase is significantly weak against better players in chase because strong tiles absolutely maul them. That is why every killer should have anti-loop. Ideally, it would be more interactive than “M2 for guaranteed hit at pallet or vault”, but it’s better than nothing. If anything, it should be considered a baseline minimum for non-ranged killers that aren’t Nurse. There are loops that are still infinites versus 110s in this game.
I don't think chasing normally is as weak as you're putting across personally but that's neither here nor there
Like I said in a previous post, I don't think neutering his 115% is the right idea but I do find it frustrating at times.
Thank you for your time and discussion, I'm not sure I have much more to add.

If he flicks/hugs around objects, peeling off counters that. It’s about making the better mindgame read.
My point isn't that it's uncounterable. Wasn't insinuating that
My overall point is that Blight and Nurse are not as similar as you said.
Blight has a strong power with a lot of utility, room for error/correction as well as all the little techs and such. There's also frustrations facing Blight because his base power is strong so when you throw in addons that completely throw off how to play against it (movement speed addons for example), it's frustrating and hard to react to.
He can also just chase normally, he has all the benefits of an extremely strong power AND all the benefits of being a 115% movement speed killer with no downsides
Meanwhile, Nurse has a power that she relies on 90% of the time, has little room for error most of the time and when you go against it - it's consistant. She doesn't have addons that make her move faster in Blink or appear faster (not anymore at least). She also cannot chase normally except under extremely niche or rare circumstances.
In short, skill ceiling wise you could argue similarities but in terms of how they work and what it takes to learn them - I think they are quite far apart.

Nurse can go through walls, Blight can’t.
Blight can flick around several sharp corners and hit survivors at ridiculous angles
He also has addons that make him move so fast the window to react is severely limited. Yes, Nurse can go through walls but she always moves at the same speed
-

Chasing normally is a massive downside on strong tiles.
It's still an option though. Blight players would certainly feel it if he was slower and had to only use his power 90% of the time
If a nurse can't catch somebody using blinks, they can't just use their 115% to catch you
I don't think it's quite the same.
