Partly because theres a range that the killer needs to reach that survivors can use to counter the perk with... the idea that you put out is really good but I'd prefer the perk to give info which is what the perk is supposed to do... honestly this perk would be quite decent if they extended the timer a bitAlwaysInAGoodShape said:@ReneAensland said:

They give the perk 10 seconds in the trailerThey probably intended that perk exactly the way they stated it there; without a timer, but realised it was so un fun that they really did not want the perk to exist in the first place, bringing it where it is now.
If the perk reveals aura's of people nearby, you'll basically always know where the survivors are when it comes to doing the objective against a lower-survivor count team.
That is why this perk should not work globally:
(final offer)
Surveillance:A survivor gains the exposed effect for 20 seconds after touching a regressing generator. When you are within 12/18/24 meters from that generator, gain a sound notification.
This is a good idear, but the balance part is hard.
Oof...Exposed effect is a tough one.
I haven't seen Make your Choice being mentioned as one of the major problems in this game, so that one isn't that scary.

The "just drop chase" is so stupid..... okay....a killer gets an early hit and the chase begins the survivors competent and knows the map so the go from loop to loop... if the killer breaks chase theyGodDamn_Angela said:@yeet said:

2 things are needed in order to loop a killer for 5 gens:
A good survivor
A brainless potato killeror lucky map RNG
Lucky Map RNG doesn't stop you from dropping the chase and looking for someone else/Gens to interrupt.
1. Need to start over and find another survivor
2. Gets nothin out of the chase except broken pallets
3. And most important 2 or 3 gens are done with again not even a chase because the killer breaks the chase -
Optimization...
Bug fixes.......... on PS4 there is a bug for both survivor and killer... can't unhook and cant hook, I was unable to unhook on yamoakas estate and a hag was unable to hook on father Campbells... so
And a reason to use surveillance -
I think hangman's trick should stay the way it is... breakdown is going to be a thing and sabo will prolly rise soon... there will be more use for itNickenzie said:I'll like to see Surveillance, Hangman's Trick, and Vigil get some love.
Surveillance:
You're aware of your belongings. Whenever a survivor interacts with a generator for 25/20/15 seconds, the generator's aura will be changed to white for 10 seconds. You have supernatural feeling of when something is off; there's a 0/25/50% change you'll receive a visual notification when a survivor interacts with a regressing generator.
Hangman's Trick:
Unique modifications to your hooks make them deadly. Whenever a survivor sabotaged a hook, it will repair itself 50/75/100% faster than normal. Additionally, sabotaging is dangerous; healthy survivors will take one state of damage upon sabotaging a hook.
Vigil:
You've resistance to certain effects due to your constant exposure. Start the trial with 1/2/3 tokens and whenever you'd receive a negative status effect, instead lose a token and you cannot receive a negative status effect for the next 5 seconds. -
Bruh? Thanatophobia? Really?? LOL you gun bring in thanatophobia? At T3 it only adds like 3 seconds to gens xD it's not even worth talking about but I'll give you this resilience, leader, stakeout, shoot even simply a toolbox counters that perk.. make your choice? Stealth play counters that, diversion can be used... agitation and iron grasp are not used often simply because theres plenty of hooks to be used, enduring is a great but gives bp to the survivors so it's a good trade off.. nurses calling isnt that great either...SirMurphAlot said:@Bravo0413 oh you can counter thanathobia, make your choice, enduring, lightborn, iron grasp, agitation, nurses calling, should i go on, decisive strike can be dealt with by spinning, unnerving presence, dropping and swinging your weapon,

Exactly this /\... that statement he made shows the inexperience in this OP... almost every perk that survivors have can counter every perk the killer and some survivor perks have no counter... and then versatility? But yeah, it's not an exploit. You can also do that strat with PIG to let the trap trigger.
It won't get fixed.

They could reduce the TR to like 16 meters M&A will make the TR 8 at that point if survivors wanna mend or attempt to make the timer not go down there would be riskAlexAnarchy said:@Might_Oakk said:

It's a cheese tactic and will be changed to terror radius. Nerfing Legion and buffing BT.So don't cry after the change if you do it.
Wouldn't call it an exploit though
changing too TR would be beyond stupid as survivors will then abuse the Legions TR.
Do you play Legion? It would be far more difficult to abuse. If you are just standing around the survivor will mend. Right now survivors are defenceless I follow them to any pallet and they are helpless.
and give them the ability to abuse the legions TR and it will be the exact same issue from when the devs tried too make the survivor not lose any timer if the killer camped the hook they was on, the very fact someone would even post making it TR based is warrant for suspicion and worry,
-
No other killer has this issue... Legion has the power that can be "exploited", "cheesing the chase" whatever.. Billy doesn't, nurse, spirit, clown etc...... those killers are all fine and dont need fixing when it comes to the chase....Someissues said:You don't need to look away or moonwalk. You can stare at them from a distance works too, which shows that its intended, as this killer is meant to stalk prey. If they get rid of that Legion will become trash
I can't count how many chases ended up not counting as chase and losing Bloodlust when u are right behind the survivor, the issue with Legion brings up this issue as a whole.
If they gonna fix Legion moonwalking they need to fix it for all killers, so u dont ever lose Bloodlust during a chase, just make it so in a killer terror radius
-
In a way the legion is the strongest killer!! Since survivors go down by the legion not even looking at them xD "forehead"steezo_de said:Cheesing a weakness in sloppy chase mechanic programming? I wanna get caught... I wanna interact and have fun in a chase with the killer..... the legion takes all of that away because it's prettymuch a free hit and theres the cheese which it's hard to mess up as the killer considering after the 2nd hit when DE is active you only have to follow maybe 15 seconds? If anyone loses someone as the legion when performing the cheese that's bad because its certainly not hard to follow scratch marks and blood..Caretaker said:@Bravo0413 said:

You are aware that the mechanics of BBQ, right?
If you don't see an aura, there is supposed to be a survivor near.
With distortion, and lockers blocking BBQ, killers will likely get false results.Kinda unfair to blame the killer for that.
Especially if someone other than Jeff is running Distortion.Oh yeah, my bad, I forgot camping is a legit strategy
If running around in circles is a legit strategy then yall have no room to criticize camping.
I abhor 360, but if you are talking about looping that's on you. 360=garbage strat abusing mechanics looping is using mind games and perks to escape.
...I literally said it's a legit strategy just like camping is. I don't even camp but I think it's funny survivors call it out like it's the worst thing you can do and then run in circles all game. Both are strategy. Running in circles works better but that doesn't mean a killer can't camp if they want to.
Camping is not a legit strategy. It's not bannable, but it's no longer supported. If it was, there wouldn't be an emblem penalty(albeit a practically nonexistent one) which implies the devs think it shouldn't be happening unless survivors are right there.
Yeah even though it was supported by the devs for over 2 years they even went as far too even implement perks and a killer Not_Queen even stated on the stream that camping is a strategy! And it technically still is just because you lose points doesn't mean you can't get points else where....

If you 360 a legion while they are using frenzy what's the point unless the frenzy ends?? No cooldown on missed attacks so it doesnt matter really... need to know where vaults are while using frenzy? The only time you have vault while using frenzy is in chase and after the survivor which you vault faster anyways.... I can understand being a bit biased towards them if you love the gameplay but by no means is there true skill involved with them... the only skill that is involved with them is the basic mind games for certain loops, which you can do on every killer! (Asides for nurse because shes to slow without her blinks) from Billy-legion.... there's no special mind games with them like there is with almost every other killer.. Billy forces pallets down with his chainsaw, huntress gets hits at pallets with hatchets, trapper can Hurd survivors into traps, hag same and force the survivor to vault back towards you... legion? Ya get a hit no questions asked go on to the next get another hit and go back to the previous person and down them EZ no skill requiredJago said:@alivebydeadight said:

Their power prettymuch a free hit... theres no skill involved with vaulting and theres no cooldown on missed attacks... how is there any skill involved when using their power? 😂
you need to know when to lunge before the timer runs out, you need to know if the survivor is willing to fall for your mindgames, you need to know the amount of time for the frenzy is over, you need to know if there is a vault near by to be able to vault in time after the survivor does while having the time left on your frenzy, you need to apply pressure to all survivors aswell, and you can still 360 legion too
Or you just can tunnel, camp and noed. As every killers do those days.
-
Theres literally a perk that breaks the hooks when you're unhooked... you run 4 of these and the killers prettymuch breaking their own hooks as fast as they can hook you guys.. combine this with offerings and sabo boxes and hooks being "too close" isnt really a problem anymore, it's on the survivors for letting the hooks be that close..

Iron will is already a bad ass perk I don't see any reason to make it any better xDNickenzie said:I have to say I like the idea of how Iron Grasp and Boil Over interact with each other. They are really good examples on how other perks should be like when they are going against each other. So, my idea in this thread is to rework a few survivor and killer perks to make them similar to how Iron Grasp and Boil Over interact with each other.
Perk Counters 1:
Monstrous Hooks: (Was named: Monstrous Shrine)
Your hooks are deadly to the touch and is filled with pure evil. Hooked survivors will suffer a 6/8/10% faster Entity progression and their odds of freeing themselves from the hook is cut in half.
~Versus~
Hope:
Your will to not giving up has caused disruption in the Entity's abilities. While on the hook, you'll be granted a 6/8/10% Entity resistance and gain 1/2/3 more escape attempts.
Perk Counters: 2
Knockout:
Your vicious attacks causes extreme pain to your victims. Dying survivors suffer from the blindness status effect and other survivors cannot see their aura outside of a 32/24/16 meter range. Your strong attacks make the survivor exhausted; dying survivors recover 10/15/20% slower than normal.
~Versus~
Unbreakable:
You're a tough fighter and survived many battles. Grants the ability to recover from dying state once per trial and your grunts of pain are reduced by 30%/40%/50%. Additionally, you have managed to decrease your stress during dire situations; you'll recover 10/15/20% faster than normal.
Perk Counters: 3
Stridor:
You're intense sense of hearing makes you sensitive to your surroundings. Natural noises (such as making grass move) are 50%/75%/100% more audible than normal and you'll see the auras of survivors within 5 meters to you. Additionally, your sense of detection allows you to sense injured survivors; injured survivors' grunts of pain are 25%/50%/75% more louder than normal.
~Versus~
Iron Will:
You adapted to extreme stress and have the ability to handle extreme pain. You won't leave pools of blood behind and you'll see the killer's aura for 3/4/5 seconds after being attacked by the killer. Additionally, your ability to handle extreme pain has numbed some of the pain; grunts of pain are 25%/50%/75% less audible than normal.
Yeah, some of these are OP but you get the point. There should be more perks that cancel each other out which make perks more like a rock paper scissor game while not being completely screwed over when you're on the short end. -
Any sort of multiplayer pvp game is competitive.. V stands for vs... if DBD is not pvp then hell why is the killer trying to kill them and not trying to help them escape? Pvp means there is some sort of competitiveness to this game that should not be ignored because this game can be so much better then it isCymer said:The biggest misconception of DBD is, that this is a competitive ranking game.
It's not.
In this game you supposed to have fun and survive/kill. Ranking is a reminiscent of the original vision of the game. There is no "fair" matches with pre groups who has access to 3th party programs or by playing against different ranks.
If you put a lvl 10 killer against a 20 and 1 ranked survivors what happen? -
They should give incentive and start implementing perks that combat SWF only...
-
Curtain call was in the summer during the BBQ.... shattered bloodline was in the fall..and it's most likely because of the unfortunate killer we have and the balance changes to BT and lockers..
-
Did nobody see the stream? Buffs are coming to the legion......... honestly this killer isnt my cup of tea... do they look cool? Yeah bhvr does an awesome job on all the killers appearance... but the power requires 0 skill... you miss a hatchet with the huntress you're punished and if you miss too many you could lose the game ... spirit if you don't predict and miss too many phase walks you get punished and could cost yourself the match... legion? Nope doesn't matter miss as many hits as you want you still get the hit while in frenzy as long as you have a brain... and once they remove the stun when you end frenzy before the power runs out this killer is going to be disgusting...
-
The unfortunate thing is the killer requires 0 skill to use... now with the changes coming there may need to be some timing to getting out of frenzy but the amount of downs they get will go up... xD
-
I like different things to do I dislike gen sim... survivors need more to do anyways.... it was nice not having gens pop left and right after you complete a chase... the thing that needed adjusting was the time you spent on the plant if it were a bit faster it would have been better
-
You do realize that the devs made BBQ for survivors right? So that in hopes killers would camp less... if stealth is too strong what fun is the killer having just walking around the map?MuteNewt said:@altruistic said:
I love it. Along with Distortion (S Tier Imo). It’s so nice not having your position revealed because another survivor was caught.I always loved playing stealthy, I don’t like being chased. Every Survivor should be running Distortion and utilizing lockers.
And not to mention being the last one alive and having the killer know your position instantly? This brings balance back. People are gonna defend B&C to the death,. But I get it because its extremely useful. The games are still very winnable with this tiny adjustment and balance with locker reading.

Maybe (I say maybe because im not 100% sure) when dedicated servers come the devs will have power on console but until then the devs cant do anything... that's all Sony and Microsoft so players can DC, body block and just over all give a fun gaming experience to others
-
On PS4... I wanna give props to the team first.. DBD never looked so good on my console... it runs smoother (asides for M.t ormond that maps rough), the load times are amazing!! I was in awe when I got my first match needless to say im happy... but now audio....its crazy loud for the first time I had to turn my volume down because its soo loud... this really hinders killer gameplay it's very frustrating yet again not being able to hear survivors footsteps, breathing... audio is the only issue that I've had everything else is crisp and gold!

Last time we had issues with sound and being able hear survivors those issues stuck around for like half a year xD
