Yikes
I hope this gets sorted ASAP
I hope so too, kinda annoying. It usually happens when I am in a different region (Pretty sure MMR will toss you into any region if its high enough lmao)

"Map zoning" aka proxy camping is boring. Maybe people don't want to play like that ? They'd rather run slowdown and traverse the whole map. Not just a section.
Denying sightlines and watching them while patrolling generators to pickup a chase is not proxy camping if its more then 50% of the map XD

Does your internet go out completely?
I've had this 'crashing' issue happen to me (Where it kicks me out of a match, no penalty) but my internet was fine the whole time
Also I did get a dc penalty twice, the other two times none

Yes it does, but I know its not a me problem because I am using starlink and after the 2nd game of it happening I opened my phone and watched it to see what would happen. I was getting (UNKNOWN ERROR) and a massive packetloss spike.

So like
Has it been happening for you mid match or afterward?
Like do they do it to make you lose or are people doing it in response to you beating them?
Midmatch, suddenly dc whenever I am about to 4k, usually at like 8-9 hook states, I don't even get a dc penalty XD

True it could, I just do it if I think one survivor played well

If the game is over and I want to give a certain survivor hatch I will go out of my way to focus the last survivor till they are found, not reportable if the game is over imo (multiple gens left)

Well why wouldn't you? Think of this, let's say you take Brutal Strength over Pain Resonance, common perks for their roles right? This is gonna be long but I'm gonna use some examples to show Chase vs Slowdown on an M1 killer.
For Brutal, let's say the example is a MacMillan chase that used a long wall jungle gym, a short wall gym and a junk pallet. Let's say the long gym took 20 seconds because you won a mindgame and they dropped the pallet, then connected it with the other gym and that took 30 due to you losing a mindgame, pallet dropped then connected with junk tile that took 10 seconds, then 6 seconds after breaking to get the hit. In total if you include pallet breaks, that chase took around 71 seconds. Without Brutal, the chase could possibly take around 80 seconds due to the extra time causing extra loops, making Brutal save you 9 seconds, maybe even more. However, this wouldn't be that useful on the mobility killers such as Nurse/Blight/Oni/Wesker because they already catch up immensely fast. But back on topic to an M1 killer, those 9 seconds didn't reduce a gen, they're only 9 flat seconds across the board.
Now, for Pain Res, using the previous chase example. Let's say there was a gen that had 50% done, then another with 45%. Once the hit happens, let's say it took you 7 seconds to get the hook, bringing both to about 56% and 51% respectively. Pain Res knocks the 56 to a 41%. Those 9 seconds are simple inferior to the ~14 seconds Pain Res will buy you on that gen, and while yes, the other may pop, you can chase someone off of it if you find it and that buys you extra time.
TL;DR - Slowdown is global pressure, Chase is 1v1, thus, in most cases, Slowdown is the better choice (I also apologize if my math is bad or my predictions just outright suck, I rarely do breakdowns like this but I still think it's important to show that Slowdown still rules all)
Btw that was a great breakdown of a m1 killer chase

I should of made it clear that I was talking about already high pressure chase killers that can keep that snowball to the point where 3 seconds into the game its over after you get a down+ whatever else if you understand high traffic areas of the map and the most likely place that people are going to run (For example, when blinking back to a hook if you are playing nurse, don't blink right too it, blink to the left side if they know you are coming from the front to cut them off.) I guess people are scared that if they lose the snowball they lose?

@Tsulan said:
One could argue that asking killers to apply pressure is equal to asking them to tunnel. Since playing only against 3 survivors applies a ton of pressure.
So are you sure, you don´t prefer killers taking slowdown perks instead?
yes because people don't understand that tunneling is not the most effective strategy yet

Because they are conditioned to believe that is how the game is played.
I sincerely feel people take slowdown perks and just go, okay, these are the best, especially on top tier killers.
People genuinely do not understand the game at the level that they think they do, fearmonger is genuinely the most broken perk in the game. People don't realize that you are getting the slowdown of people NEEDING to get off of the generator to shake the blindness effect, especially when you hook somebody and they don't know where it is, they are FORCED to get off the generator or risk me (90% of the time knowing what generators are being done) come to hit them with exhaustion. Pairing that with discordance and the current hyperfocus toolbox meta with franklins demise genuinely makes their builds completely useless. If you can get a discordance proc, and down 2 people (or even injure both) the game is over if you position your hooks correctly, thats not even taking my built in infectious freight slowdown (jolt) paired with fear monger make it stupid for survivors to tap the gen or I will down them without their deadhard/lithe etc if I am playing correctly, thats not also counting the time it takes for them to get the item back from franklins if they care that much and force survivors to heal them.

Because... they're still very good?
I disagree, I think a full pressure build at the highest is the best, maybe if you arent on a very top tier level you should run slowdown, but if you have the game sense down I mean slowdown is kind of useless
-
@GrimReaperJr1232 said:
How do you pressure a team?
Spread injuries? Nope, medkits and CoH exist and are very common.
Slug? Not every killer is good at snowballing. Even still, UB and WGLF exist.
Tunnel? OtR exist.
Strategic Camping? Reassurance
Use Discordance and Info? You're assuming every killer has mobility.
It's not a coincidence that the top killers are...
Nurse, the killer with the best chase potential in the entire game.
Blight, the most mobile killer in the game and insane chase potential.
Spirit, another chasing monster that (especially with add-ons) has decent mobility.
Artist, a killer capable of pressuring across the map, especially with the right perks, alongside a deadly chasing power.
Sorry, should of clarified I only play the top #########, however, I don't know why people who play Nurse/Blight/Spirit/Artist are running slowdown.
-
There is 4 people I have seen for the last 3 months, seemingly still max MMR like me, and one of them finally dced from me last match... Just because they're streamers or SWFs. Doesn't make them good or anything of the sorts. If they can't even tell the difference between range or recharge nurse
Thats the problem with everyone saying nerf nurse when they don't even understand the strengths or weaknesses
-
I have been running an experiment going no perks no addons, and have went against a few SWF streamer squads, they all seem to claim that I am using double recharge, or double range, no matter what is changed people will still cry about it. The reactions when they see my name in the aftergame lobby after they DC/suicide is priceless

There's LP/Deadlock/PR/NWO (this just in case those damn survivors manage to somehow do 5 gens while having stacked slowdown and basically immediate early pressure)
Or Starstruck/Agi/AA (or floods of rage)/some slowdown (deadlock?) for that fair and balanced ™ exposed on nurse
Don't forget to equip double range or range + recharge to highlight your skill, otherwise she's LITERALLY unplayable
If they get 1 gen done I consider that a loss, so true

Recharge is strong but balanced. It doesn't alter what Nurse can do with her blinks in an actual attempt to land a hit the way range or three blinks do. It just means more frequent uptime, which becomes pretty much necessary at ultra-high levels of play. (Not that most survivors will ever get there, but neither will most Nurses). Some maps need reworks and changes.
Agreed
-
@neb said:
I think the problem is that even if you mindgame a nurse and win the "rock paper scissors shoes", they can just run range addons and make back the distance they just lost.
I'm all for nerfing range, but whats the opinion on recharge? Its the only thing that makes maps playable indoors (Lerys atleast)
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3172608#Comment_3172608
Okay, so what is her worst map?
Lerys without addons but RPD is harder chase wise and now can pop up twice because its two maps.
-
@Murgleïs said:
So as a nurse main, I don’t see anything wrong with what he wrote.
RPD is not the worst nurse map. The map is smaller now, and you have better sightlines. The middle is stronger for nurse because you can have 2 gens close there.
Also playing against nurse can be boring af so I understand the salt.
With no perks to pressure outside gens and no recharge to be able to keep up a good chase that can end the game with one bad move makes it Nurse's worst map in my opinion, however it is my favorite in the game to play because it is hard. No perk nurse against a squad like this makes it def the hardest map in most. (Lerys is def the hardest, however RPD can pop up twice now as much) Im a nurse main too since 2016 so I disagree personally
Edit: What's wrong with what he wrote is that they are obviously being obnoxious about the fact that it's a very hard map (new design is dog) and they chose the map and perks FOR the map, which is hypocrisy at its finest
-
@realflashboss said:
A very good team with 7k hours, running nurses 'hardest map' with 0 perks. And you dont see the problem?
The perfect advert why nurse shouldnt exist in the game. 0 perks, her hardest map and against a good experienced team who's top scorer got 13k BP.... so probably 2 gens got done.
Nah, only reason I won was because survivors positioned themselves badly and I was able to secure half of the map with 2 downs on one side, confirm a kill, and keep a slug and force the other injured survivor to not be able to show themselves. They got very much outplayed and outgamed...
-
Bro... If dead hard hacking is the least of your concerns you haven't seen the totem esp and perma aura reading killers/survivors and 1.1% speed boosts, 1.2% repair boosts that USED to be able to catch hackers when it was old tinkerer

Its not like Im even trying hard either, I can't camp, I must pick up new chases, I can't start a chase with a unhooked survivor, I must try my hardest to 12 hook, can;t slug
-
Sorry I gotta include my biased take of only nurse threads and conversations pertaining too it, so yes, as a nurse main since 2016 I am bored please give me harder matches I should not be winning perkless nurse RPD against 7000 hour survivors I think with full loadouts and map offerings correlating to the map

Breakdown is extremely underrated. It's a good counter to tunneling, it's a good counter to scourge hooks, it's a good counter to camping. Getting rid of a hook for 3 whole minutes is massive, especially on indoor maps like midwich and RPD. While I don't think it's really slept on, corrupt intervention is still really good but I see so many people go for the first down instead of trying to injury everyone and make the most of the timer. I use it on clown with with the sulfuric acid vial to make healing take longer and i try to injure everyone. With 3 gens you know they can't be on, you only have to check 4 and they are all on the same side of the map usually. By the time Corrupt is about the expire I'm usually midchase and can safely down having made the most of the timer.
Agreed. Breakdown should be ran a lot more.

My 2 cents about this is and has always been: if the devs trusted that the MMR system was accurate and functioned as intentioned, then we would be able to see our matchmaking rank. It seems to me that the only reason to hide such an integral part of the game from us, is because it doesn't work properly.
Let us see it again, at least during the end game leaderboard.
Just went against a 7700 hour survivor, rest had 2100 and some #########. Working pretty well at night atleast.

I just started playing within the last month and have been getting curb stomped as survivor for about the last week. It feels like MMR either rises a lot faster than it falls or favoring queue time over appropriately matched skill levels makes it useless more often than not.
If you die 1st, or 2nd, you experience a much bigger drop in MMR then if you die 3rd/4th

Fearmonger as well, pretty broken. Havent seen anyone try my build yet of Fearmonger, Jolt, Knockout/Thanatophobia/Any Blindness/Agitation for hook pressure if you get the chance to slug and to top it off Discordance for snowball. Only works on Blight and Nurse prob. On Blight I'd use Plaything

I know that the game has a few years on it's back and if you play something for too long you lose the interest in it and slowly it get's harder to find something fun to do. But I never had the problem with dbd because of the constant New content and changes. But right now? Right now it get's harder to enjoy the game more and more. The game slowly get's taken away from two main groups and leave nothing left then a misarable time. These two groups are:
Sweats and Hackers
Funny enough this Situation is a bit similar to a game that has nothing to do with the Genre and that is Fortnite. A game that started really fun with a unique concept. You didn't needed to be the best person that wins every round to have fun. It was just fun to mess around and test new stuff alone and with friends. But then it turned more and more stale and got took over by 5 year olds who fill buckets with sweat every round.
Dbd was really fun. So many perk combos to test out and killers to have fun with. People trying funny meme builds and just having fun together. But this is in the past. Finding something similar like that is really really rare. Even tho we got a massive Update that shifted the meta a bit every round is the same. You ether have a group of survivors who mastered the game and make sure that the killer suffers while the round is going or you are on the other side and have killers who do nothing then tunneling and Camping one survivor at a time out of the game because it's the easiest way to win. I can't even try new stuff out really because when I bring something that is not in the top Tier the round is over before I even had a real chance to test it.
Oh and when you don't experience that, then you experience a basement goblin with the mindset of a 5 year old who tries gta cheat Codes for the first time but in a online multiplayer game. Ether holding you hostage, ending the round in 2 seconds or just making sure that you suffer.
I don't even know why I'm writing this Text really. It will not change a thing. This game has lost his good times and there is nothing that can bring it back really.
People complain about balance, but the ######### we dealt with back in 2016-2017 playing this game was worse. All of us as players thought once that behavior bought themselves the rights of the parent company we would be playing a game for the longcon. And as devs, they have done a great job at releasing content but they have never done large enough ballsy changes to fix the game. Only bandaid fixes sadly. I think they are trying, and I am in to see it out, give it time.
I miss 2016-2017 dbd
