Remove the music I have enough of it.

    Oh wow that Tip...

Too bad you can't hear anything over the insanely loud chase music but even if there was no chase music you still wouldn't be able to hear anything. Sounds are so messed up, every survivor has built in iron will and no footsteps it's ridiculous how long it's gone on for like this.

  • I personally have no interest in it at all and wont be buying but If the skins in store are anything to go by It'll probably be expensive.

  • I agree every map looks muddy and to be honest ugly. I don't know why but they went a bit overboard with the grungy atmosphere to the point where everything kind of blends into one overall color.

They did say they're going to be redoing assets and lighting in the map reworks, hopefully they sort it out.

  • I think leaving it to RNG Is fine, If you make it too short then it'll always be in the killers favor and too far and it'll always be in the survivors favor.

Just look at maps like Lery's and the Game, With how they are laid out it's almost always a 50%+ chance at escape for the survivor which as a third chance is quite high.

If you really want that 50%+ chance though you can always skip looking for the hatch and hide near an exit gate. Sometimes you'll even be out before the killer can get to one of the gates.

Hopefully in the Ghostface chapter in 2 weeks. There's usually a small list of tweaks that come with them.

I do agree about it being quite an unhealthy perk though. Even if it get's nerfed, just the fact that the balance team actually looked at it and thought it would be a good idea is just terrifying and says a lot about their understanding of the games balance. It also shows that nothing was learned from DS.

The Devs do make some questionable balance choices a lot of the time but MoM is one of the worst designed perks they've ever created, I think It may have been a decision made out of greed to sell Ash's DLC rather than ignorance. I just can't believe they thought it would be balanced the way it is. Either way, It doesn't paint them in a good light.

  • Wraith - I'd love a speed up to his cloaking and uncloaking, an attack out of cloak would be amazing too.

Trapper - He needs to start with all his traps, This is his main downfall. He has to go collect and set up which takes way to much time. He should also be able to carry more then 1 by default and for the love of god, Make it so he can't step in his own traps.

Pig - Full speed when crouched, maybe decrease the distance of the dash attack a little to compensate.

Plague - As she was in PTB, Remove the slow down in movement speed when holding and release vomit, Let her be able to hold in the puke and walk around being ready to fire it.

Doctor - Personally I'd redo his shock therapy to be an M2 attack and not a mode. This way you can quickly shoot with m2 at loops like he's supposed to. also add the madness tier up to his regular terror radius since he wont have a treatment mode.

  • If it wasn't for her dash attack I'd say sure but since she gains the speed boost that's where it gets a bit tricky, If the distance for dash attacks was reduced then maybe.

It'd be a nice buff to her to be able to be a stealth surprise attack killer, I'd probably play her a lot if she got this buff.

  • @Weederick said:

Just for the math: Stalking survivors for 4s allows them to run 16m, which takes 26,6s to catch up, while he only has 20s of exposed.

He seems like a strictly worse Myers overall. First impression is weak.

Oh wow, I didn't notice this.

I thought constantly stalking was the reason for the survivors taking his power away but looking at the numbers there's really absolutely no reason have this mechanic.

  • Hopefully he is given immunity to those kinds of perks when in stealth. It's just too easy to take away ghostfaces power, all you have to do is have anyone look at him for 1 second and he's knocked out of his power. Incredibly stupid decision in my opinion but don't think they'll change it to be honest, the least they could do is minimize how easy it is by giving him immunity.

  • Agreed, The FOV is just so small. I can't play without shadowborn anymore because I get a headache trying to look around.

  • I'd say I'm overall Okay with the roadmap and reveals.

Ghostface and Freddy don't really seem like my type of killers so I'm looking forward to the next killers after them. The Archive seems okay, Not exactly something I'm interested in though. Switch and Mobile don't interest me at all. I do like the map reworks but wish they were more common, 2 for the year seems a little low. Rank rework is probably what im most excited for too bad it's 9 months away.

  • Because there's little to no punishment for DCs lately and there wont be until dedicated servers.

  • If this goes to his live version I most definitely wont be playing him. Being knocked out of your power for a survivor looking at you for one second?! That's ridiculous. I know it's probably so you cant keep putting the exposed status on survivors while chasing them but Any survivor? that's stupid. SWF are going to have so much fun taking this killers power away.

As for his perks, 2 are useless and the generator one is maybe useful in a gen stopper build but even then not worth a perk slot imo.

IRT the third one, it's not hooking the obsession. It's picking up any downed survivor. Which gives it a lot better useage imo.

Oh right, I forgot the terror radius was the obsession one. But even still it'll be a very situational perk in my opinion. Not to mention the 16 seconds their blocked will have time taken up by you hooking the survivor, I'm not sure why they didn't just do it for hooks instead so you could actually scout and walk to the gens being worked on, at least then it would work well with BBQ or PGTW. It's kind of mediocre in my opinion.

  • I don't know, having three different powers would make him overly complicated and without a doubt they'd give him a lot of restrictions to compensate.

Waking up seems pretty easy now with not only any failed skill check waking you up but also those clocks spread around. My guess is survivors will just wait out the 60 seconds and get ready to wake up anytime they're about to fall asleep.

I think the main focus should be on the Gen teleport, If they put too much power into the dream traps and pallets and survivors can easily just counter it by waking up every minute then he'd be in a pretty weak spot.

  • I can't see any use of his perks, to me they're all pretty bad.

Decrease terror radius in a chase, It'll just be the same terror radius as a tier two Micheal at most which isn't helpful in a chase. Decreased terror radius barely help while in chases, If it were the opposite and your terror radius were reduced outside of chases it'd be a good perk but it's not.

Aura of a fast vaulting survivor outside of terror radius. This seems so useless, You already know the location usually, the 6 second aura isn't exactly helpful when you have to then traverse the map which by the time you get there the aura is gone and your in the same spot as you were if you didn't even have the aura.

Picking up a down survivor blocks all gens not being worked on, This is the only one i can see being useful in some gen stopping builds but even then I'd argue it isn't worth the perk slot.

  • Killers powers just keep getting more and more complex. Personally I rather a simple m2, He seems like he's got a lot going on and will probably have a lot of drawback too. I think i'll pass.

  • It's a good thing, There will be less safe loops but more loops overall.

  • Why not just Have a section in the store and put those cosmetics in the store for a limited time when the new archive thing comes out rather then making a paid pass of the archive.

  • I agree to an extent with Hag, It's just too easy to counter her with a flashlight, Having it reveal traps would be a lot better or at the very least have it take a much longer time to destroy a trap.

For Trapper Personally I think all he needs is to be able to carry and start of with multiple traps by default and not be able to step in his own traps.

  • There was a leak of a charm of a cake, possibly for the anniversary?

My Guess is outside of discussing all the things to come like the map reworks, freddy, ghostface, and possibly Charms, DBD Mobile that they'd at the very least have a blood point event for the anniversary.

  • My Guess is he'll end up mid tier or somewhere close to The Plague. I highly doubt we'll get another Spirit/Nurse/Hillbilly since people would just complain until he's nerfed again.

  • Apparently they'll be discussing/revealing map reworks in today's stream, let's hope haddonfield is no.1 on the list because that map is god awful.

  • We'll see how he works in todays stream.

I Just hope he's decent but then again looking back on plauge she was decent not even that strong and they nerfed her on release so I'm not getting my hopes up.

  • I don't think she's awful but I do think the surprise Nerf on her release really crippled her. People enjoyed playing as and against her but after the nerf and the initial hype of a new killer You hardly ever see anyone play her.

The Reason I don't like her is there's just too much downsides to her power. It can be strong yes but when you have a slow down on charge, hold and on release it takes the fun of spraying vomit everywhere that she had in the PTB. Her games also go pretty fast since there's no healing involved when playing against the plague so you've more time to do gens.

  • If Killers had the same FOV/POV as Survivors I wouldn't have any issues with blendette but they don't. The Tiny FOV that killers are given makes seeing blendette's incredibly difficult on most maps.

It's the same thing with DeathGarden, The Hunter's FOV is so small that a Runner can just slip behind them and hide in a bush and get away. Thankfully DBD has scratchmarks but if they're not running then goodluck finding a Blendette on Yamaoka/macmillan/corn maps.

  • I actually think it's in a pretty good spot right now. As a survivor you already get plenty of chances to escape, I feel like the third chance being up to RNG is fair.

Change the doors to not be so RNG based and you make the third chance at an escape a 50/50 on which door the killer goes to first since gates can be opened in such a short time the killer cant possibly make it to the two gates in time, This would just cause some killers who really want the 4k to camp the open hatch and wait for the survivor to give their location.

  • Not much at all to be honest, I only buy Killers I like to play and since Killer's don't see themselves in game I've never been interested in buying any cosmetics. Maybe $30 total.

  • To be honest I much rather the paragraphs then chapters. Chapters are nice and all but evidently it put them under too much pressure to the point were they couldn't fix one updates problems before introducing a new update to only bring in even more problems.

At least this way it gives them more time to fix the game, They did say that maps are getting reworked which will be great for the game, This is probably because they had more time not having to work on a whole chapter, Hopefully sounds are next to get fixed.

  • It works for anti tunnel perfectly but It does need some tweaks outside of that in my opinion.

I think if another survivor has been hooked while your DS is active then it should deactivate. This way a survivor isn't safe off the hook for a whole minute of a game.

Either that or reduce the timer because 60 seconds is a very long time with how quick games go and especially in the end game.

    Really?

Do Killah Mainz not ######### about ANYTHING these days?

The game has literally been tilted in their favor by over 70% in these last 10 months.

Goodness gracious, the bitching never stops!

It's a bug that impacts gameplay... Why wouldn't that warrant a complaint?

That's how bugs get fixed if you didn't know. How are the Devs to know you encountered a bug if you don't speak up about it.

  • You can tell by the licensing at the end of the trailer, They only had the license to the mask not the films. If there were to be a survivor and map which there wont be it wouldn't even be one we're familiar with.

  • Sadly we have to just deal with it until dedicated servers.

Apparently they lowered the threshold for DCs but even still It's a very high threshold to reach and they don't look into DC reports at all so players can ruin games over and over for everybody with no punishment in place.

  • Chase music is just so loud. Everyone agrees and has brought it up constantly.

I find it very surprising it hasn't been dealt with yet. Honestly, how hard can it be to set it to an appropriate volume....

  • The only advantage a killer gets form seeing survivors in the Lobby is knowing what items they bring and I suppose you could say knowing which survivors they're facing but that's such a non-issue I wouldn't even count it.

If either of these are having a big impact on your game I'd really question that. Killers are going to see this anyway once they see you in game.

  • Opting out of SWF lobbies would just increase que times and overall be bad for the game.

SWF can be OP absolutely there's no doubt about that but you can't hinder it in anyway because it's a must have feature for any online game.

The realistic and logical option would be to buff Solo survivors level of information sharing to be on par with SWF and then Buff each individual killer accordingly.

To be honest If I had a say I'd put this as a top priority for the Devs since it'd get rid of most the imbalances and frustrations people have with the game and make future balancing so much easier. I'm shocked they haven't done it yet even if it would take a long time considering you'd have to go trough each killer one by one but In my opinion It'd be worth it in the long run.

  • Yep and I just got back from a pretty long brake already, They just keep getting longer and longer.

Games just aren't that fun to me anymore. I main spirit so sounds being busted for the longest time has always pushed me away from the game but with the release of MoM I was kind of fed up with the state the game was in and decided to take a brake.

But even now I'm playing less and less, It takes an hour to get a decent game thanks to que times and DCs.

I'm excited for ghostface and the MoM nerf and apparently they are working on sounds so maybe that'll be enough to get me back in the swing of things.

75k playing on Steam right now disagree with you.

To be fair those numbers don't mean much. The game was free for the past four days so it not only got the numbers of a free weekend plus more, it was also advertised as free on a the featured page as part of Steam's spring cleaning sale. Before the sale the average playerbase went back into the minus percentages.

Same thing happened with the Free weekend, double bloodpoint and Ash DLC all happening together. Numbers went into the green and then slowly went back to red.

  • This is brought up a lot actually, especially in discussions involving fog whisperers and streamers.

It's also a problem on both sides, both survivors and killers will derank in order to outplay and outright sometimes bully newer players.

  • It's free at the moment and is advertised as part of steams spring cleaning event on the featured part of steam. It was bound to bring in big numbers.

Before this weekend the game went back into the red in minus average daily players which for the past few months has been a regular thing outside of the other free weekend that came alongside Ash's DLC.

When the event ends we'll see how many of those playing for free stick around, I love the game and wish it well but let's not pretend this is due to anything other than it being advertised well and most importantly free till tomorrow.

  • I wish it were token based. It's such a short timer and forces you to do most of the time stupid plays if you want it's effect.

Leave a hooked survivor to get saved and put no pressure on the other remaining survivors all because you're on a time limit to get a generator regressed 20 seconds or less. Unless you come across a gen while the timer is still up you almost waste as much time as you gain.

  • There's a huge difference in the killer seeing the survivors verses the survivors seeing the killer.

With the Killer all he has knowledge of is what Items the survivors are bringing, That's it.

Now if you give the survivors the option to see the killer before the match it would change the game completely since Survivors have access to perks that can counter a killers power. You're facing a spirit or doctor? everyone brings calm spirit. Legion? Everyone brings no miter. Hag or Wraith everyone brings a flashlight and so on

good theory, tho i didnt check if i'Ve got twice the points for giving hits (so 2 times 300 for brutaility and 2 times 300 for deviousness)

if it happen again i will try to check it out

I assume it's that or something similar to the issue with huntress when they were testing dedicated servers.

When they were testing the servers a couple fog whisperers were saying huntress was buffed to have headshots insta downs and it was an intended change when in fact it was the same or similar issue you seem to have had with plague.

Plauge and huntress both use projectiles which usually work fine but given that it's a moving object going trough the survivors hitbox something like lag can potentially cause the projectile to bounce back and register as a second hit after the first.

  • Most likely a bug. Survivors only have one hit box, any hit from anywhere weather it be head or foot is counted the same.

When getting hit with Corrupt purge survivors have a few seconds of immunity so they can't be hit again so quickly. if I had to guess I'd say it's a bug where the game forgot to give the survivor the immunity and the survivor was hit with 2 projectiles from the vomit at the same time.

  • Sounds haven't worked for a long, long time. Anytime it gets somewhat fixed they brake almost immediately again. Sadly for a game that uses sound so much It's not very reliable.

A big problem is how they use audio occlusion, If a 99% generator which is very loud is behind a wall it gets muffled and quietened so much to the point where you can barely hear it. This alone is a huge part of the problem along with missing footsteps, survivors audios disappearing and extremely loud chase music.

Apparently they are working on fixing how they implement sounds but to be honest after months and months of the same issues I'm doubtful, But I hope I'm wrong.

  • @Seanzu said:

It's been an entire year of killer buffs and people still complain about SWF?

Why not take the time to be really good with a killer and beat the teams? If you look on twitch the top killers don't even batter an eye lid at SWF and destroy most teams, as soon as MoM gets it's nerf it'll be EVEN easier.

Your basing balance around the top killer streamers? By that logic we should also balance around the top level survivors which thanks to SWF are well above most killers.

SWF is game braking, You can't deny that. The game wasn't built for voice coms that's just a fact. It doesn't matter that Killers have gotten buffs or not.

  • This game has one of the most toxic communities I've seen in an online game, It can be pretty off putting but just keep calm and try not to take things too personal.

If you're finding it to be too much, I'd suggest taking a brake.

  • They're using outside software to communicate, there's no way around it.

The only thing that needs to be done is to buff Solo survivor to the point where they are on par with SWF level of information sharing and then Buff Killers accordingly. I wouldn't hold your breath though It doesn't seem like their interested in doing this anytime soon.

  • While I agree and think a battle pass isn't needed in DBD, This isn't exactly something new from the Devs though. If there's something to monetize off of they'll do it.

Just look at the price of cosmetics, The Insane grind for shards, Even some of the decisions made recently like MoM could be seen as a cash grab.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 26
