Dead Hard took 6 years of crying to get nerfed the first time. Now it's getting nerfed again, but survivors complained and so the nerf got reduced.
Don't know where you are getting this "nerfed everytime killers complain" thing from when it's only been nerfed twice, and it's still a pretty solid perk.
Camping and tunnelling are much harder to adjust than a single perk is. And they have made some changes to help deal with it - Basekit BT, Haste after unhook, Reassurance, OtR, preventing certain killers from using their powers for camping.
I'm sure there will be more changes in the future, it's just not something that can be changed in one patch like Dead Hard or Eruption.

Even the new Red Forest maps have terrible locker spawns. Largest map in the game and yet the map has almost no lockers.
The newest maps don't really take any killer into consideration. Terrible locker spawns, Trapper has lost most of his grass, random objects placed everywhere now so killers like Hillbilly can't even traverse the map, collision is so bad that Blight slides off everything yet Wesker and Demo get caught on everything, multiple safe loops chaining into each other so M1 killers can't catch you, massive open fields so stealth killers are easily spotted, super powerful main buildings and shacks surrounded by multiple strong loops.
Their new map designs are just awful.
-
I would much rather them rework Chris's model than Leon and Wesker's. Chris looks so goofy.

I see your arguments clear and I agree full and completely that the yellow bunny hints at…. Honey. It even rhymes with bunny!!!
Candyman finally confirmed.
I see your argument, but honey is clearly a reference to Winnie The Pooh. He’s even friends with a rabbit and just got his own horror movie!
Winnie the Pooh chapter confirmed.

The CoH and DH nerfs are huge.
I’ve been playing without slowdown for the past few days to get used to having next to none next patch, and it isn’t too bad honestly. The hardest part of it is dealing with an early game DH or survivors healing straight away with CoH and med kits. All of which are being nerfed.
If they did nerf killer too much this patch, I’m sure they’ll adjust them later.

I started playing DBD since the Plague. When the only Gen defense were Ruin and Corrupted intervention. While Gen took 80sec, old DH and DS/Un combo. Syringe that instant 2 health state.
And saying its not playable for Killer now.
This is the result of Killers being heavily relied on late 2022 Gen slowdown.
To be fair, that wasn’t really because killers weren’t used to slowdown it was because 99% of survivors were horrible at the game back then.
Stick the current survivor player base back then with double pallets, pallet vacuum, OG Dead Hard, and all that and killers would never have had a chance unless you were Nurse.

I think he has just regular Legion sounds but with little bit changed sound because he has mask I think.
It's still cool skin tho.
Yeah he uses the normal Legion voice but muffled a bit to fit the gas mask.
It is a really cool skin. I just wish it had voice lines so it felt more like Hunk and less like Frank cosplaying Hunk.
-
Playing as Freddy before his rework :(
-
Yes. Now there is 100 pallets instead of 101.
-
I've played against her only once. Someone dced at the start of the game and it still took forever.
-
With the new developer update the self healing penalty only applies to med kits, so Self-Care is back to what it was before the healing changes.
It’s fine where it is again.
-
The problem is that a lot of those killers you listed have had balance changes in the past few years and for some reason BHVR refuses to adjust a killer after they already have been for years. It's like they have a list and once a killer gets a buff/nerf they go to the bottom and you need to wait for everyone else to be changed first.
It took over 2 years for Hillbilly to receive any changes after his previous rework, which was very negatively received.
Freddy hasn't received anything after his previous nerfs despite being in the worst state he's been in since his release.
Trapper got an add on rework, but hasn't received any other changes since despite it not addressing any of his issues.
Trickster received buffs shortly after his release and now he's been forgotten by everyone except the cosmetic department.
Clown was reworked but is still in a bad spot and has not received any buffs since then.
Nurse got a slight rework rework that didn't make much of a difference and now over 3 years later she finally received another nerf.
So as you can see, once a killer gets a balance update they don't tend to receive anything really for another few years except for maybe a few add ons changes or minor number tweaks.

As much as I loathe this perk as much as Sideshow Bob hates Bart, I need to point out you know EXACTLY who does not have Dead Hard:
If you have not hooked them, they don't have it.
Yeah but as soon as you hook them they get it. And now you have to deal with 2 people possibly having Dead Hard. Tunneling the guy off the hook means you can avoid it as you can't Dead Hard during Deep Wound.
The nerf will make the perk much more manageable, and so from a killer POV I like it, but from a survivor POV I really don't like how it rewards tunnelling more than playing fair. I really don't want to have to deal with more tunnellers than I already do and this change makes me think that there is going to be an increase in it soon :(
-
Dead Hard is the most popular perk in the game while Exposed perks are rather niche, and there is a reason for that. Exposed effects all have a condition that must be met to activate that is just "run while injured". They also tend to have very lengthy cool-downs or very short durations that make them only work in very specific scenarios.
Dead Hard is getting a similar condition to insta-down perks, so it should be more inline with those now.
The only ones that don't have a condition are powers like Billy and Bubba, which are powers and so they don't need a ridiculous condition. And they have a charge up period. Imagine if Dead Hard had to charge up and played a very obvious animation as you were doing so.
-
Take the faster recharge from Adrenaline Vial and replace Alchemist Ring with that effect.
Now you need to run 2 add ons to get old Vial’s effect. And Vial by itself has another downside in that with the extra tokens given you have to wait a bit longer to use your power.
And Alch. Ring still allows you to rush a lot earlier, but there is now a window of counter play for the survivor.
-
I main Quentin :(
-
But I still have to chase the survivor after I find them!
I suggest that after 10 seconds of being in the light the survivor is set on fire, instantly killing them.

I don't belive them it's real, there is no Pig nerf, #########. Everyone knows how Pig is OP...
DbD is dead.
At least they kept the Hillbilly nerfs. Was worried I might actually have to play against him…
-
This is not a good idea and should never be implemented.
What killer do you want to avoid? If you tell us we might be able to help you counter them so it isn't as bad when you get them.
-
Yeah and while we’re at it why don’t we just break his legs?
-
Yeah I’m looking forward to not having to deal with Dead Hard and multiple regression perks anymore.

They should also give a 100% healing boost if you've recently mended, because who in their right mind would want to mend for 12 seconds then heal themselves for 24 seconds, that's 36 seconds of doing completely nothing but healing, like hello?? Get more value out of the game just standing in a locker for 2 minutes.
Like congratz, you got unhooked near the killer, now you're spending 12 seconds mending, and then you have to either find a med kit and spend 24 seconds to heal or find someone else and still wait 24 seconds to be healed. Or is this just a huge legion buff no one is talking about lol
You shouldn’t be healing against Legion anyway, so it’s not a buff to them

This information is accurate.
DH deactivates after you use it, regardless of outcome. You'll need to get another unhook if you fail it.
Or unhook yourself

i thought people were saying this change wouldnt be beneifical to use even without hearing problems. this just sounds like basekit spinechill, which I can't really test it out yet since I am on ps4, but it does sound really really great. though i feel bad for sadako and freddy it's got to suck for them.
Turns out it isn't too bad for Freddy. The lullaby indicator does NOT change based on proximity so you still don't know how close Freddy is.
So Freddy and Huntress aren't affected by this change.
Bad for Sadako and Trickster though. These 2 should honestly just have their lullabies removed at this point.

Being a Trapper main let me remember every possible places that used to hide his trap:
- General door step.
- Window glass in shack, crane...in Auto Heaven
- Snow in Ormond
- Sand in Eyrie
- Pillows in Yamaoka estate
- Mud in Asylum main buildings
They removed all of those, so Im sure its unintended and will be fixed in live.
Don't forget staircases!
And the original Blood Lodge building used to have a massive bump outside the window that caused traps to sink underground.

@C3Tooth said:
Huntress & Trickster lullabies have clear intensity. I dont face Sadako enough to actual hear her TR.
Freddy Lullaby is the hardest recognize the distance, like from 32m to 0 in 1 second. So with the visual would make it easier for me.
Wait so does the visual indicator tell you how close Freddy is?
-
This is something he could do years ago on most shacks and doorways. I remember an Otz video where he showed that placing a trap in the middle of shack made it invisible because of the debris there.
Guess a bug brought it back.
-
It was also buffed in the PTB from the dev notes.
It activates when you unhook YOURSELF now as well.
So you can get an extra Dead Hard from Deliverance.

the pre-egc version of the game allowed more than 1 player to escape through the hatch. because the hatch spawned based on how many generators were completed in tandem with how many survivors were alive. so you could run a chest looter build and everyone could escape through the hatch - which left behind users could easily find.
bond, left behind, plunderer's instinct, and whatever other perk you wanted to bring.
I know it used to be used to get an easier win, but now it's just a selfish perk.

Uh no...
The only time I saw this was the exhaustion rework July 2018 (i was a baby DBDer) and then again in August 2022.
Every other time was people crying about end game, the Pig (which is now an official meme so GG KiLLaH MaiNz), etc.
Uh yeah. I’ve been playing since 2017, and almost every time anything major happens in this game people claim it is going to kill the game.
Major times I can remember:
- When they adjusted pallet vacuum and double pallets
- The exhaustion changes
- Every single time Decisive got nerfed
- MoM release
- The very SUGGESTION of nerfing Self-Care made people threaten to quit
- Ruin rework
- The killer closing hatch
- Stranger Things removal
- That time when the player base dropped after the Resident Evil release
- Key and hatch rework
- Pinhead NFTs
- Boons
- VHS and Evil Dead are surely gonna kill this game!!!
- 6.1.0
- Knight and Skull Merchant
- Right now

Billy, Bubba, Knight, Deathslinger, Executioner, Nemesis, Clown, Freddy, Trickster
Freddy’s whole play style literally revolves around kicking gens. He’s garbage without regression.
-
If the healing changes go through then Autodidact does not need any changes.
And Lightweight is an amazing perk. It should not be anywhere near this list.
-
The only people that run this perk are selfish players who ignore their team.
I’m fine with it being a bad perk because if it’s buffed then those selfish players are more likely to escape and I would rather they didn’t…

Dead hard didn’t need another nerf. Killer mains complained it used no skill. They then fixed it to where it needs skill and people complain.
Healing takes a 3rd as long as a gen? Might as well stay half dead the whole game.
Circle of healing? Hopefully you brought a medkit or your teammates actually do teamwork.
Pain res is practically useless at this point.
A thing that has always been in the game and is simply counterable by a single perk is getting removed.
Who asked for the billy nerf? The devs 100% only read like one thing that complained about Billy and decided to nerf him.
"A thing that has always been in the game and is simply counterable by a single perk is getting removed."
What is this referring too?

Normal chases. Your example is great. Have you seen me say anything about the other metas being boring? A normal chase meta is fine. Hit and run is boring aka why people have always hated legion.
Hit and run isn’t why Legion is hated.
Legion is hated because they are mending simulator.

Freddy is getting nerfed pretty hard this patch. With gen kicking builds gone now, there isn't really anything he can do.
I honestly would consider him the worst killer in the game when these changes go through. And if he's going to be the worst killer in the game again, may as well bring back his old power!

it is just the lore that is unsettling which is why i can't believe this version made it into the game
OG Freddy also had the disgusting part of the lore too, it was just more subtle and vague.

Care to explain how to outrun a Wraith for hitting you first, and then cloaked to reach you to get the next strike if there's no window to vault or pallet to drop from? Just a 30 second chase and it will be the end of it.
- Use a perk like Sprint Burst to avoid his first hit
- Plan where you are going to run before he hits you. There is almost never a scenario where you can't reach a pallet or window with the speed boost after he hits you
- A 30 second chase is not a bad length. That's 1/3rd of a gen.

Says who? You could say that about several perks in this game. Doesn’t change the fact that the first time DH was nerfed, killer mains got what they asked for and then when survivors adapted and learned how to use the scraps that were left, it had to get nerfed again because the issue was never how the perk worked it was the fact that it even existed to begin with and screwed with the killers getting an easy win, and the killer role is clearly favored by devs.
And when Ruin got reworked survivors got everything they wanted and when killers adapted and learned how to use the new one it got nerfed again. Something can be nerfed and still be an issue - i.e. Nurse, Ruin, and Dead Hard.
The devs don't favour one side. Stop with this mentality.
-
If you don't heal against Oni he'll get his power faster, but you're already injured and so you would go down instantly anyway.
And if you don't heal, while he will be getting lots of blood off the floor, he can't gain half his power instantly by hitting a healthy survivor if everyone is already injured.
He'll pretty much play the same, maybe just getting his power a bit faster.
-
@Pulsar said:
Somehow, Insidious Bubba is being buffed this patch.
Honestly Bubba is probably the least buffed by this as he can already instadown. If Bubba is camping and has even 2 brain cells, you're going down either way. It's every other killer that is buffed by this.
I think increasing the healing speed is a good change (although maybe they should've tested 20 seconds first), but yeah, they need to nerf camping to compensate for this change. Even something as simple as increasing the hook timer slightly or making a soft version of Reassurance basekit would be good. And remove hook grabs obviously.
-
Autodidact time!

Nerfing self healing speeds, but keeping altruistic healing speeds the same, would widen the gap between solo q and SWF, because SWFs can much more easily coordinate altruistic healing. We’re supposed to be closing the gap between solo q and SWFs, not making it worse.
But they already widened the gap because you can more easily coordinate with the teammate with the med kit.
-
Overall pleased but somethings should be addressed.
- Altruistic healing should still be 16 seconds, or at the most 20.
- Self-Care should be buffed back to 50%. Right now it take 45.71 seconds to heal whereas with this update it will take 68 seconds. Making it 50% will make it take 48 seconds, which is much closer to what it is currently.
- Hillbilly changes should not go through.
- If Hillbilly’s add ons are nerfed than Blight’s and Spirit’s speed add ons should go too.
