Pretty sure a perfect example of survivorship bias. High performing killer, despite nerfs, still does well. Thing is though, it will continue to do so, because the only ones remaining to actually PERFORM on killer are those who are incredibly dedicated and skilled to a ridiculous degree.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Z4PFQPULZVJY/survivorship.png
And the engravings will still probably be the most used because the rest of his add ons are still awful. It changes nothing but makes an already clunky killer clunkier.
-
Seriously! This is just a nerf to an already dead killer, no one will play him anymore. The fact that they nerfed Billy’s speed add ons before Blight’s is bullshit.
I’m assuming they nerfed engravings because of how popular they are, but they will STILL be his most popular add ons because the rest are awful.
-
Billy was nerfed actually. Good Billy players almost never overheat, it’s never been an issue to them.
Engravings however are his only useful add ons and they are nerfed now. They’ll still be his most used add ons because the rest of his a garbage, but now you’re just slower… he’s even deader than before.

if you let yourself get light burnt by a flashlight then you're bad lmao. flashburn got nerfed extremely hard
Of course getting light burn is rare, but it still means you have to play around it which can often give the survivor enough time to reach a loop that they normally wouldn’t if didn’t have to move out of the way of a flashlight.
I just don’t think items or perks should have effects specifically for certain killers. Small Game and Sabo lost their effect on Trapper because it was unfair and I think they should do the same for other killers.
-
But according to “the stats” Nurse would need a 1 second stun while Sadako would need a 5 second stun.
-
How has no one mentioned Predator yet?
Worst perk in the game.
-
@Steakdabait said:
flashlights are already bad enough lmao
And Wraith is already bad enough without lightburn.

Considering how bad the newest maps and map reworks have been, I’m glad we haven’t gotten any new ones in awhile.

Well, it makes sense that it does wake them up since it is a source of energy that stimulates people.
Adrenaline isn’t the problem, it’s the lack of creativity and lack of “fun” with his power. He’s needs another overhaul but it seems like the devs are already stretched thin.
Of course it’s not the buff he needs, he needs way more.
But this still shouldn’t exist. No other killer has a perk that exclusively affects them so Freddy shouldn’t either, even if it thematically fits.
The only reason this effect exists is because it’s a remnant of when they over nerfed the original Freddy and they just never removed it when he was reworked.
-
I would swap NOED and STBFL and bump Trail of Torment, Whispers, and Hoarder down to C tier.
-
Felix, Zarina, and Jane aren’t in their trailers either from what I can remember. So it’s not exclusive to Jeff.
-
Been playing a bit of Knight recently, the things I’ve noticed that survivors do that I find the hardest way to catch them is:
- If you can get the banner, get it. You’ll make a ton of distance. Not really easy to do mid chase but if he goes for a long distance guard, it’s almost always possible to grab it simply by running around a rock until it spawns.
- Dead Hard is a free speed boost, there is nothing Knight can do if you time it right.
- Start running away as soon as you see him going to place a guard.
- Guards are slowed down when you vault a window, so if you hold W and vault a window they will basically never catch up to you.
- If you are being hunted by a guard, tap a hooked survivor and the guard will instantly die.
- If you are in a situation where the guard and Knight can both hit you, let the Knight hit you. The guard will disappear. If the guard hits you then Knight might get a second quick hit on you. Better to let him hit you then risk getting two tapped.
-
Dissolution should just be proximity based rather than terror radius. The perk is literally unusable on Freddy right now because of it.
-
Condemn strat is why.
Hopefully she does get a similar rework to Skull Merchant that discourages her condemn playstyle and buffs her other abilities.
-
The amount of people defending this really shows just how toxic this community is.
-
This would just lead to longer queue times and worse matchmaking. No thank you.

I've seen so many people complain that slug times were too long, and I agree with them.
What happened to the basekit unbreakable?
Better question: which side abused it to prevent it from being implemented in the base game? (Usually what happens)
Basekit Unbreakable and the Finisher Mori were never meant to be implemented yet. The PTB was a test to see if people liked it and from what I could see the majority of feedback was negative. Someone abusing it wasn't the reason it wasn't added, it wasn't added because it never was supposed to be implemented yet.
It's probably still coming, just not for awhile because it's a massive shift in how the game plays that they can't just add it in suddenly. And they probably won't do anything to address slugging for the 4k until then because there is no point in adding a fix that is just going to become obsolete when FInisher Moris are added.

I'm all for STBFL staying as it is.
Sucks that the counter to this perk is to have the 1 survivor with Reassurance also bring a perk to increase their chance to be the Obsession; 1 survivor to heal the Obsession up and send them back in to the hook; and another survivor slowly whittling gens in the background while Reassurance buys them time. All to counter 1 perk. 🤷♂️
RIP, solo q
Unless it’s endgame, if the killer is camping that hard they probably won’t have 8 stacks so it’s not an issue.

I was confirming how it would work in practice.
BNP also isn't a problem. People have done the math in videos iirc, BNP is less efficient than either normal toolboxes or just bringing toolboxes with basic add-ons. DH isn't either, people have posted clips of Onis eating several DHs and still winning.
What other "crazy strong survivor options" exist btw, that might confirm for me whether you want OP things nerfed or just don't want to deal with new things that make you think differently or adjust your build slightly, like 90% of the DBD community.
I’ve also seen footage of people beating Eruption killers on YouTube, we should probably revert the nerf as it clearly wasn’t a problem because I saw Otzdarva win a game against it!
-
No. Please don’t nerf the one meta perk that isn’t slowdown.
-
Respect to anyone for getting to P100.
Not just because it shows your dedication to a character, but because you’re actually willing to spend hours in the bloodweb.

Even Predator has a niche to fill. Most players don't need help with scratch marks but some do, and Predator is helpful for them, so it at least has a reason to exist.
Furtive Chase though, I don't know why it was made. Who thought of this and what was the point? Especially now that the chase indicator exists, this perk does nothing of value.
True, but I think Predator still needs a buff or rework because it’s just a hindrance more than it is useful.
Furtive Chase is so bad and the worst part about it is that it somehow keeps becoming even more useless. Nemesis and now Game Afoot do the Obsession switching better and just made it obsolete. Not to mention the killer it comes with is already stealthy in chase
-
Some of those perks are pretty decent, it’s just that the top level perks are so much better. If they removed them you would see some of these perks get more use.
You can get value out of all those perks except Furtive Chase and Predator, those two are worthless.

I've only started playing last month, I've seen and played against every killer besides Oni and the demogorgon. Dont know how those killers work. Every Killer's power is pretty obvious after one game, but after playing against Freddy 4x I still have no clue what's going on or what that dream state even does. The game doesn't tell you want each status icon to the right means either.
There is a section that tells what each status effects does. On the main menu click the "Getting Started" button (3rd button on menu) then click "Game Manual" on the top of the screen and then under the "The Game" section there is a list of all status effects.
Dream State isn't listed here though as it isn't really a status effect but all being asleep does is allow Freddy to use his Dream Snares (the red puddles he places) on you to slow you down. Or if he is using the Dream Pallet addon he can make you see fake pallets that are destroyed when dropped. You can wake up by failing a skill check or getting another survivor that is NOT asleep to wake you up.
He's pretty bad right now so don't worry too much if you don't understand him because once you get out of the lower MMR you'll never see anyone play him.

Well, that is sad.
I had hoped it might make him hard to manage.
Yeah it is sad. The grass is nice but it's so big you don't even have time to collect or set traps and when they are set the survivors might not even step in them because there is so many areas for them to run.
But at least the extra grass is a good sign that they might actually take Trapper into consideration in future map reworks.

This is a hard map for Wesker/Blight.
The large amount of foliage makes it hard to tell exactly which thing you're targeting for a bounce/rebound.
Mostly its trees, I think they are the same ones from Yamoka.
But, its hard to get too upset about it, its one map out of a lot, and Blight/Wesker have many favorable maps.
And I want to face Trapper here, seems like he could have a good time with the ground cover.
It still isn’t a good map for Trapper as it’s too big for him.
This map isn’t good for any killer except Nurse. And that’s just what we needed! To make the gap between Nurse and the other killers bigger!
-
Killers holding 3 gens for over 30 mins is a problem, and this is coming from a killer main perspective. If the best way to win is to bore everyone into disconnecting then there is an issue that I can understand people hating.
There is nothing wrong with playing around a 3 gen or playing patiently, it’s only a problem when killers drag the game out for longer than necessary or refuse to end it.

Some Gen Regression Perks would be nice. Maybe Killer players would actually get better at the game.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3369428#Comment_3369428
Be careful what you wish for. Last time they changed Calm Spirit they thought it was a buff. And since then I have seen the Perk used even less (and it was super-niche to begin with).
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3369561#Comment_3369561
There is a difference between buffing Perks a lot and making them unhealthy. Your examples are Perks which got buffed into unhealthy, because being unable to do anything for 25 seconds was just dumb. And Thana was a problem on certain Killers (which it still is, yet less people are running Thana on Legion or Plague, probably because there are enough attractive Slowdown-Perks around).
However, I would say that Buffs like Off the Record and Lethal Pursuer were really well done. I mean, you can argue that Off the Record also benefits from DS nerfed into being basically useless, but I can totally see OTR being used with 5 second DS as well. And I would not consider OTR problematic.
And Lethal Pursuer was already decent, but the additional effect made the Perk a lot more attractive to use since you did not have the feeling that you are playing with 3 Perks after a few seconds.
So it is possible to buff weaker Perks. The Devs just need to be more smart with it and test it - because I highly doubt they tested Eruption enough.
Oh sorry, I didn't mean not to buff weaker perks. I was referring to buffing them by "a huge amount".
What I'm meaning is yes we do need to buff weaker perks, but not above the level of the current meta. Eruption was terrible because they made it stronger than the old meta. Even if they hadn't nerfed Ruin or Pop, Eruption still would've been meta because it was just so much better. Eruption probably would've still seen use if they never buffed it simply because the old meta is gone.
So yes, buff weak perks but bring it to a balanced level and nerf the strong perks to the same level rather than making more overpowered perks to replace the current ones.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Just buff some weaker perks by a huge amount. People want a new meta but complain about strong new perks at every corner
This is what they did with Eruption and Thana and everyone hated it.
You can’t just buff the bottom without nerfing the top, otherwise the new top will have to be stronger than the current to compete.
-
Considering Dead Hard is currently the most complained about perk and Peanits hinted that the perk isn’t going to be changed soon, I’m gonna say no perks are getting nerfed except maybe some regression perks or possibly CoH.
Maybe Blood Rush if they realise it encourages tunneling.

funny you mention that. he used to not break pallets base-kit but he had add-on called C33 to be able to break pallets. it used to be add-on exclusive before it was given to him as base-kit.
Same with Demo.
-
This just makes sense. Every other non-ranged killer with a special attack can either break pallets or vault them while using their power except for Pig (and I guess Nurse but she can ignore pallets anyway).
Great buff and is consistent with other killers.

Vulnerable might be a bit too long...
Does anyone here have a word that means "to make something fragile"? Because that would work perfectly.
Enfeebled works somewhat but it's as long as Vulnerable and people might not know what enfeebled means...
I don't think length really matter, especially when we have "haemorrhage".

Also can make it harder by making it perkless as well.

Most of the MacMillan and Autohaven maps are Killer-sided I feel, besides Gas Heaven and Groaning Storehouse.
RPD is probably Killer-sided but the map is just miserable, Midwich is Killer-sided.
I think Lery's is Killer-sided as well, though perhaps Killer-leaning would be more accurate. I think the same of The Game, depending on the Killer.
You already mentioned Dead Dawg
May I ask what you find about Lery’s that is killer favoured? I personally find it kinda survivor sided with the amount of strong interconnected loops.
-
Winning a game by 12 hooking against a high MMR meta SWF as an addon less Hillbilly in an indoor map in less than 5 minutes without camping or tunnelling.
If anyone ever pulls this off I would consider them the most skilled player in the game.

They did actually update this patch so you can tell now

The Legendary "Hunk" skin for Legion is the same way. Stuff like this seems to get passed quality control all the time. I am of course assuming that BHVR actually HAS anyone doing quality control.. Probably a mistake on my part.
Hunk is just such a badass that he jogs to give the survivor a chance to outrun him.

Is map prevention always going to be disabled when there is increased rates of certain maps?
If so, it would be really nice to have some form of info in game to know when it isn’t enabled. Even just a notification in the news section would be great.

I had a match against a 4 DH squad.
DH is annoying, but not really matter to me.
But 2 survivors body block, then double DH to force 4 weapon hit cool down when carrying a survivor to hook is another story, when old DH made weapon miss cool down which was shorter. Not that I want the old DH more though.
Feel like STBFL is a must to counter DH body block.
Every time someone does this to me it’s always the obsession so I never even get my stacks :(
-
More killers who actually have chase potential but the counter play isn’t just to hold W.
So killers like Wesker, Oni, Demo, Ghostface or Blight without busted add ons.
-
I agree with removing hook grabs but I don’t agree with the “if DH goes it must go too” logic.
Both should be adjusted because they suck and not because one side needs a nerf to justify the other.
-
Add a bear.
Nothing special about it, just a bear.
Like have the entity accidentally grab a random bear and then decide “hey this guys cool let’s keep him”.

Thanks for the detailed explaination...
Wow... so Hex: face the darkness does nothing now... like, actually NOTHING.
What a SILLY decision... talk about nerfing killers, wow...
I'm expecting a dead hard buff now... do they read our posts and purposely do the opposite??
Oh yeah Face the Darkness is even more useless now.
You’ll still get the noise notification, but it activates so randomly that the scream was needed to let you know that it had actually activated!
Which sucks because Face the Darkness Freddy was the closest I could get to playing pre-rework Freddy again 😞
-
@Spectralfx said:
Can you detail the changes?
I feel like I am out of the loop on what you are talking about... but it sounds interesting to know, ngl.
Perks and add ons that make survivors scream now have a 19 metre 3D sound instead of a map wide 2D sound.
So if a survivor screams within 19m of you, you will be able to tell where they are. However, if they are further than 19m you won’t hear the scream at all and only see the notification bubble.
This is an issue because perks like Make Your Choice and Dragon’s Grip relied on the map wide scream so you could tell which survivor is exposed. It also hurts solo queue as well as now you can’t tell if a killer has MYC or Iron Maiden if it triggers on another survivor unless you are within 19m.
MYC and Deathbound are hurt the most as they require you to be further than 32m, so the scream will never activate for them. So it’s a nerf to perks that are already weak or situational.
This has no effect on killer powers, so Doctor and Freddy still work the same.
-
This is one of the worst changes they’ve ever done. Not only does it make already bad perks useless, it‘a a nerf to solo queue because you can’t use the screams to figure out if the killer has perks like MYC or Iron Maiden.
This just widens the gap between SWF and solo more whilst killing a bunch of already weak killer perks. Why?
-
Good riddance.

Wait, which freddy? Because old freddy and new freddy are basically two completely different killers
OG - 5
Rework - 4
So rework is still more if you count the add on nerfs.
Trapper also has more nerfs than them with 9 himself.
