"If u take a look at all the character-wikis, you wont find any character spammed with Nerfs more than Freddy."
The Pig would like to have a word, good sir
Just looked at the wiki.
Pig - 5 nerfs listed
Freddy - 9 nerfs listed.
This also doesn’t include any of Freddy’s add on nerfs, just his base kit.

Well, Peanits asked for more DH discussions, so that's what he gets. Anything for our friends at BHVR.
I'm just waiting for someone to turn that into a meme, honestly.
He did? When did he say that?

Mhmmm. I thought we didn't want to nuke perks simply because they were popular? Self-Care and PGTW come to mind.
But they did nuke them. And Ruin. And Iron Will. And Eruption. And Thana. And Calm Spirit and Pharmacy for some reason.
All of these got nuked for the same reason - unfun and overused (except for CS and Pharmacy which were changed for no reason at all).
Why is Dead Hard the exception? It's been meta for 6 years now. Freddy was popular for a year and got destroyed, Thana was meta for a few weeks and got destroyed. Why is the most unfun and overused perk allowed to remain but the others aren't?
-
Just make it so survivors and killers lose collision if they are afk
-
No because that still doesn’t solve the problem that I have to play around it every game!
-
While this is an interesting idea, I don’t think adding more protection to the unhooked survivor is the right way to go about it.
If a killer wants to tunnel you, they’re going to tunnel you no matter how many lives you have. All this change would do is make the unhooked survivor abuse their protection more, like they do with base kit BT already.
The best option is to give the killer reason to actually go for someone else. If they somehow make it so going for the unhooked survivor is more rewarding, then killers will be less likely to go for the tunnel. And it makes using BT defensively a good strat as even though you are probably going to lose another hook state, you’ve denied the killer their “reward” for not tunneling, a sort of risk reward type play for both sides.
-
I'd say Demo if Dead Hard didn't exist.
Otherwise, like everyone else has said, Oni and Wesker.

I agree. Wake Up! Make sense on waking up from Freddy than Adrenaline but that just me.
Wake Up does make more sense, but Freddy is already so bad he doesn't need a perk to have an effect that specifically affects only him.
-
Distortion is already a pretty strong perk, it doesn't need buffs.
Perks also shouldn't counter specific killer powers either. It's why Small Game and Sabo got reworked to stop countering Trapper. And why I wish they would remove Adrenaline waking survivors up against Freddy...

Sure but his add-ons must go in that case
I hate how Myers is so bad but he’s add ons keep him from receiving any changes.
Just nerf his Insta kill and infinite add ons already so he can get some buffs!
-
Icons and anti-tunneling measures should’ve always been in the game.
As for killers, an FoV slider should have also been added awhile ago but other than that there isn’t much to add.

Demos power is excellent for baiting out Dead Hard lol.
If you are close, yes. But any killer can bait DH up close.
If you are in a scenario where you have to Shred, you can’t bait it most times against a smart survivor.

So, killers continue to complain non-stop about DH.
BHVR releases a perk that encourages the use of other exhaustion perks except DH.
Killers demand its nerf to unusable perk.
Magic.
Yeah imagine releasing a perk that is more annoying than the most complained about perk. Why would people complain about that?
It's like adding a killer stronger and more annoying than Nurse just to get more variety. Would you be happy with that?

“the best players get use out of it”
I think it’s fair if the best players are able to use it well. By your logic, it’s like saying we need to need trapper because somebody plays them well.
A 99’d SB will get you the same extension that a DH will.
They already have been nerfing Trapper with the new map designs. So if they are cool with continuously nerfing the worst killer in the game, they can nerf the strongest perk in the game.
-
They reduced the gap by making sure no one would use it anymore.
-
Just let me use my power when I want and not have to readjust my self to activate it.

I hate dead hard
But I have to admit. Killers would seriously regret it if Dead Hard got thrown in the trash and everyone switched to Sprint burst and Lithe.
At least Sprint Burst doesn't completely nullify my power when I'm playing Knight or Demo. And Fearmonger counters Sprint Burst way more than it counters Dead Hard. Plus I can finally lunge again!
I think everyone would rather play against Lithe than Dead Hard.
Overcome is the exhaustion perk I'm scared of becoming meta.

They are common perks on both sides.. Eruption, call of brine, pain resonance, Noed are very common for killers. Its just hypocritical to only complain about one and not the others.
Almost no one uses NOED anymore outside of low MMR.

I feel like that's just an opinion.
If it were 25% faster healing speeds, mending speeds and Killer power interactions; there'd be a bigger outcry.
Well yeah, that’s way more busted so of course there would be more outrage.
This 100% still should be killswitched though. Hopefully a hot fix is coming soon.

and how does this get a 8 upvotes???
It’s not. They are saying they are glad it’s bad because if it was good it might be another gen rush perk.

0.25 is extremely slim. I would make 0.5 Endurance with another 0.5 locked in animation, so there is a small time frame that survivor cant drop pallet, allow killer to hit.
But it doesnt fix auto DH when it activate the moment killers swing.
There is no way to really fix auto DH with the way it is designed. It needs to be reworked into something completely different to fix that.
But that “locked in” animation is a pretty good suggestion.

I'd like to see a system implemented where Killers you haven't gone against in a while are weighted heavier than others.
If you've played against 5 Legion's in a night, weight them to the bottom of the list. If you haven't seen a Billy in a long time, try to push them in.
This would require someone to actually play Billy.

Because I already have 3 million blood points that I’m too lazy to spend.

OP its a given already that the Devs only kill switch survivor perks. They let killers run rampant free without worry, just look at Eruption everyone in the community along with streamer killer mains that the perk needs a nerf but here we are.
and before some white knight makes a fool out of himself i do know the nerf to eruption (better late than ever i guess) but either way it shouldve been kill switched or changed sooner not after half of solo queue survivors quit
They kill switched Nurse and Clown for weeks and they took 5 years to rework Dead Hard.
Stop with this mentality. They don’t hate one side more than the other.
-
Wesker is fine as he is, the only thing that could be changed is how good he is at tunnelling.
Blight just needs his add ons nerfed and then he’ll be in a good place balance wise.
-
I actually really like Knight now. The green orb disappearing is huge and let’s you ambush survivors so much easier now that I can easily be pressuring multiple survivors at once. He kind of reminds me of the original Freddy play style.
The main issue have with him though is how clunky his power feels. You have to be really far away from a wall in order to use your power, which makes is awkward sometimes as you have to step back a bit just to use your power because you can’t use it if something is close to you. If they made it so the orb appears inside of the Knight so I can use my power anywhere, that would be great.
Also make Call to Arms base kit. The added range and speed is so good.

Any generator damage can trigger it. Try it in a private game. You'll see how broken it is. When Jolt, Pain res or/and eruption trigger you get points for "generator damage".
No. Call of Brine only activates if you kick the generator.
As the perk says, you have to “perform the damage generator action”. While those perks give a blood point bonus for regressing the gen, you didn’t perform the action so the perk doesn’t activate. The Knight’s guards can’t even trigger CoB.
The only time the extra regression would apply is if Call of Brine is already active on a gen (so it’s still yellow) and then you use Eruption/Jolt/Pain Res.
-
Survivors run gen speed perks because they are powerful and make them win easier, same with killers using slowdown. There’s no mystery, people run whatever makes them win.
Even if killers didn’t run slowdown, survivors would still run gen speed and killers would still run slowdown if survivors didn’t run gen speed.
-
You still get your one corrupt fountain at the start of the game. Wait until they are all broken and then go grab it. Their Dead Hard won’t be much use then and it might scare them into actually healing.
Or just use Thana and then at least one will be cleansing.
And in the end, at least it’s an M1 with 2 health states unlike someone like Freddy which is an M1 with 3 health states.
-
Shack is fine on it’s own, although I think the ones where you can’t see through the long wall are the best balanced as it gives some more opportunities for mind games.
The issue with shack is when it chains into multiple loops, which is what they seem to be doing with the new maps. Badham and Shattered Square can have a pallet right outside EVERY entrance to shack.

They aren’t bots, they are in anonymous mode and since there are two of them, their names will appear with numbers.
Also, as a side note. When I play against a ghost face I will consistently run up to them to reveal them. Hate going against a Ghostie so if i am not long for the game, at last I get a few reveals. 🤣
Ah ok. Didn’t know about the anonymous thing.
And normally the run up to reveal thing isn’t that odd, but one of them stopped on their way to the exit gate to reveal me, ran in to a wall and then died which is why I was suspicious because it just seemed so odd to do it there.

I mean, are we now specifically discussing killers using their power to down? Let's see. The killers that can down with their power are Billy, Nurse, Huntress, Bubba, Spirit, Plague, Oni, Pyramid Head, Blight, Twins, Trickster, Nemesis, Artist, Wesker, and Knight. Let's look at each individually.
Billy and Bubba should never use their chainsaw against an injured person, so they're out.
Huntress and Trickster can respectively hold projectile and toss a stray knife to bait out DH.
Nurse can blink once to bait DH and a second time to actually down.
Blight can bump through you to bait DH and back again to down.
Oni can cancel a Demon Rush on top of you and M1 normally to bait out a DH.
Spirit's power is unreactable if she uncloaks on top of you.
Twins can bait out DH by holding Victor braced before pouncing.
Nemesis can ready up tentacle and delay the use.
Artist can set up a bird to shut a loop and not shoot it immediately when they're within line of sight to avoid the DH.
The only ones that have a power that is relatively predictable to DH are Plague, Pyramid Head, Wesker, and Knight. Should we now do a breakdown of why other perks are equally as good, if not better than DH, against these killers?
There are definitely situations where Billy and Bubba should chainsaw an injured person.
Hatchets are only useful to bait Dead Hard if she's right behind you, otherwise just wait until it leaves her hand then Dead Hard. Huntress is one of the easiest to Dead Hard.
Blight, Nemesis, Artist, and Twins can do that, but often there is only a split second window where you can land their attacks so even if you bait it they still gain more time simply because you missed the opportunity.
Also should add Demo and Pig to the list of easily predictable Dead Hards.
-
@Shroompy said:
you can bait out Dead Hard with both of these
Billy's chainsaw you can feather it
Oni you can hold the power
Its a sort of mindgame for both, but is more on the Billy or Oni's side. If a Survivor guesses right on the timing I do believe they deserve at least something for it
You can’t bait it out during a Dash or Chainsaw Sprint though, which is what the OP is talking about. Unless you are right behind them before you start, you can’t bait it.
-
Decent Blight’s aren’t impossible unless they are stacking max regression and the strongest add ons. And from my experience Blights don’t tend to use a lot of regression unless they are bad in which case it’s pretty easy to win if your team isn’t useless. I kinda like playing against Blight though so maybe I’m biased.
Nurse… I‘ve got nothing. Even if you can loop the Nurse well your teammates probably still won’t last more than 5 seconds so you’re still kind of screwed.

This would literally turn it into the single worst exhaustion perk in the game. Every other exhaustion perk can get you guaranteed value, except for arguably Smash Hit. Turning DH, which is already difficult to use with ping shenanigans, into a once-a-game thing would be ridiculous. DH is fine as it is, I wouldn't be opposed to the OP's suggestion, as it turns pallets into a 50/50 instead of a guaranteed escape for a survivor.
It would still be the strongest exhaustion perk. A single well timed Dead Hard can turn the entire game around.
-
That Bamboozle chance is a nerf more than a buff. I would rather keep the 16 second block than have the ability to block multiple windows.
-
What add ons are you using? There is one that makes it so you still have a heart beat even while cloaked.
Wraith is also still pretty loud while cloaked. They can probably hear your snarls/breathing as you’re approaching.
-
@HugTechLover said:
Do not chase in main building against good survivors.
Even bad survivors can easily get value from it. Best to not chase any survivor in it unless you’re certain you can get a hit before they reach one of the windows.
-
@Canas said:
I do give up on chases pre-emptively when I see a survivor run off to a strong loop/safe structure however I can't keep doing this while the gens are popping one after another. I had a match at Garden of Joy/Pain end with literally zero hooks and only 9000 bp because the survivors kept abusing the map. There's no winning if all of the survivors are privy to unfair tactics and map techs.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/F7G9RWQJ5OJA/no-value.jpg
I was trying a scourge hook heavy build and got zero value out of that. Just because the supposed weak link in that team didn't exist. Matchmaking keeps failing me and the abyssmal map balance is pretty much putting the nail in my coffin.
That build isn't that bad. You've got a lot of slowdown and some info but it doesn't really work with Trapper.
You have no early game slowdown, so you don't have any time to set up and you have no chase perks, so without set up you're just playing a powerless killer. Honestly if you want to win, don't bother playing Trapper. Or at least use Corrupt Intervention if you do play him.
Your build would work better on someone with some mobility like Wraith, Oni, or Blight.
-
Neither.
The killer could just pull the survivor out of the locker but they aren’t.
The survivor could just leave the locker but they aren’t.
Myers could kill the survivor but is refusing thus refusing to progress the game, however the survivor is also refusing to progress the game as remaining in the locker is not doing anything either. Neither player is in a situation where the game can’t end, they are both just refusing to play.
It’s kind of like the old hatch stand off. In that scenario, both waited for one to make a move but neither were holding the game hostage as both could end the game at any moment.
-
Dead Hard.

again, play survivor and bring a totem... either people WON'T heal in it or heal merrily ON the totem AFTER leading the killer there...
When I play survivor or killer, people always heal in the boons. I don't even bring CoH but there's usually at least one person who does. Even if I'm the only person using it it's still getting a ton of value as I'm basically never injured for that long, and I didn't even have to bring the perk or a medkit.
Play a game as killer on Eyrie or Ironworks (other than Nurse because it's Nurse) and you'll understand why people don't like playing against CoH.
-
Merciless Storm, Darkness Revealed, Dissolution and Awakened Awareness are not meta. They aren’t even that good, especially Dissolution and Merciless Storm. I guess Darkness Revealed is on Huntress and Trickster, but that’s it.
Survivors recently got Hyperfocus and Fogwise, 2 really good perks. Overcome is also a pretty good perk. They also recently buffed OtR to meta levels and Windows and Distortion to become pretty solid perks now.
The problem I think is that they keep adding gen related perks for killers which always seem like good perks.
-
Still my least favourite perk to play against as killer but no where near as frustrating as old DH for distance was.
-
The meta perks did change, it’s just the play style didn’t.
And this is for both sides - killers are still full regression and survivors is still second chances + gen rush. The meta shakeup just gave the old meta a new coat of paint.
It sucks, but these play styles will always be meta.
