I mean its made FOR one character but then shared with others and made to suit them IE changing the designs and colors. And every survivor won't look the same its not all the same cosmetic its changed per survivor and in base game a SWF can all just dress the same anyways so that point of looking the same is kinda moot
Not really moot. The SWF thing is one of the reasons why I don’t want this because that’s already bad, we shouldn’t be making it worse and more common.
But when I said difficulty distinguishing survivors, I meant more from a design perspective rather than a balance one. Sure survivors are just skins, but I find them cooler when they stand apart from each other, rather than everyone looking the same just with a different face and name.
-
@HamsterEnjoyer said:
Also side note I think people would LOVE collections like these where every character gets the same outfit but in a different color/variant with one person getting several (aka the main focus) it seems simple enough and would really boost the overall cosmetic selection for characters who may not have many cosmetics
I honestly wouldn’t like this. I prefer it when the outfit suits the character and is made for them.
It also makes it harder to distinguish survivors apart, which is already difficult sometimes and not something they should make worse. I don’t want every survivor looking and feeling the same.

Something that affects the killer -
BHVR: Kill switch it right away!
Something that affects the survivor (like merciless storm) -
BHVR: We will take our time updating it and won't kill switch it.
This is not exclusive to survivors.
They didn’t kill switch Red Forest when it could spawn fat shaming spots and they didn’t kill switch Temple when there was a spot that made it possible to hold certain killers like Freddy hostage. Or Ormond when you could climb up the rock.
Yes Merciless Storm should’ve been kill switched, but they also should’ve kill switched Red Forest so this isn’t a case of killer favouritism, it’s just a case of incompetent devs.

Lol why so many killers camping at 5 gens? Therein lies your answer really. Cause and correlation.
I don’t camp as killer and I have someone leave almost every game. When I play survivor the people who leave are usually not being camped.
Usually the reason is simply because they got downed too fast, got outplayed, or because it’s a killer they don’t like.

DBD is the only game in this world that has a penalty that is stupidly way too harsh, every other game I ever play the most a dc penalty is 5 mins and probably=do not get dailies/level ups/ for 10 games.
The first DC penalty is only a minute, second is 5. It then goes 15 on the third.
You shouldn’t be DCing 3 times in a day.
And for comparison, Overwatch starts at 15 minutes, loss of MMR and a 75% experience penalty if you leave in comp. DBD is nothing compared to that.

Given the same idea (change maps to suite m1 killers even if it makes m2 killers just outright OP) - the game should now balance around 50% escape rate for soloQ. Meaning reverse patch 6.1, return old hatch mechanics and probably also permanent hook sabotages and some infinites. Would you agree to that?
No. And I never said to balance around M1 killers, just not to balance the game around the two strongest killers.
Of course those two killers still need to be nerfed in someway, whether it is before or after maps get balanced doesn’t matter, but just saying “maps need to be unbalanced because Nurse is unbalanced” is like saying “Nurse needs to be unbalanced because SWF is unbalanced”.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
We can't balance maps while we have killers like Blight, Spirit, Nurse.
Nurse doesn’t even care about map design. The current map designs reward her more than anyone because she’s the only one not screwed over by it.
If map design stays the way it is, then Nurse and Blight will become more popular because they’re the only ones that can compete on them.

Candyman is lame, Chucky is lame and wouldn't do anything original, Jason wouldn't do anything original, The Thing doesn't fit, Alien and Predator won't happen, IT doesn't fit, The Shining doesn't even SLIGHTLY fit it's just Jack Nicholson with an axe how is that even a little bit interesting, and who the hell is Tallman?
How do IT and Shining not fit? We have a K-Pop star and a manga cosplayer, but a clown and an axe murderer don’t fit?

Yeah or maybe they will some day listen and change something up. Like they are trying to do with perk adjustments now, as i understood it, they want to make some perk adjustments now (almost) every midchapter update? Same with minor killer adjustments I guess.
That would be nice. Or even just getting small balance patches outside of the midchapter would be good.

But this gap is exactly why the community shouldn’t complain about only one killer specifically but more about this gap and low tier killers in general. Otherwise even if one of the killers get an update/buff there will still be many low tier killers
You are right, and I wish we could buff all the lower tier killers (and maybe reign in some of the top ones) but unfortunately BHVR only adjusts 1-2 killers every mid chapter patch, so this gap is going to remain for a very long time.
-
I’m going to make an assumption and say that these 4 killers have an inflated kill rate simply because people just give up against them.
I can’t remember the last time I played against one of these killers and the game didn’t have at least one DC on someone giving up on the hook.
Freddy also has a very small pickrate, so his kill rates would be higher because the only people who still play him at this point are really good with him.

Is there any killer that's universally liked?
Demo and Wesker are probably the closest we have currently.
Myers back in 2017-2018 was probably the closest we’ve ever had to a universally liked killer. Every poll I saw back then always had him at the top. But now he’s outdated and everyone runs Tombstone Piece so he’s not really loved anymore.
-
Corrupt, Pain Res, Sloppy, Fearmonger is my go to right now.

I find it weird how people still talk about the weakest killer when there are so many contenders that half the roster is constantly called the weakest killer..
lowest killrate has Nurse - that probably hasn’t change considering her skill floor. Trapper still has great snowball potential.
Kinda shows how large the gap between the top killers and the rest are.
But I think most people agree that Trapper is definitely bottom 3.
-
I’ve been using Corrupt, Pain Res, Fearmonger, Sloppy on him and it’s been pretty successful for me.
For add ons I normally use Bear Oil and Fastening Tools.

They are asking what is happening in the event…

Why does everytime someone mentions solo q needs to be better there's always a killer main that goes "bc screw killers right?" Killers cry constantly about needing buffs because they're miserable against swf (which are at most half the survivors) but solo q aren't allowed to ask for buffs even though they're miserable all the time ? like how selfish are you lol? Also everyone asking for solo q to be playable means solo q should be buffed, not that killers should be nerfed..
Anyways the gap between solo q & swf needs to be lessened asap, it's mind boggling to me how we still can't see our teammates' loadouts when there's so many perks that don't work together (perks that need you to break totems vs boons etc)
Also I'm still mad about their new "teamwork" type of perks. Even perk reworks (new CoH) are basically only playable in swf when they're the ones who need nerfs... sooo infuriating how the devs pretend to care about solo q and announce "solo q improvements" every year and then balance all new perks & perk reworks around swf....
No one said not to buff solo queue.
They said that balancing the game AROUND solo queue is a bad idea, not that it shouldn’t ever be buffed.
-
I don’t mind it. Better than the Eruption meta.
I do have to ask though, what play style do people want to play against? I can’t think of a single play style that wouldn’t get complaints, from both sides, so… what do people actually want to play against?
-
Interesting ideas but this would just encourage killers to slug and not kill anyone to keep the gen penalty up.
-
The ability to leap off of buildings as Demo without hitting an invisible wall.
And old Freddy.
-
I also like Knight, but he’s hurt pretty hard by the Sprint Burst/Lithe meta so I haven’t been enjoying him as much lately.
And the fact that guards sometimes walk through pallets and other times they decide to walk all the way around the loop, only to ignore the survivor right next to them because they HAVE to reach the other side of the pallet before they can begin chasing the survivor again.
-
Pinhead gives another objective to complete and he’s one of the most complained about killers.
People will complain no matter how you handle this.
-
These are soo cute!
Not into the shirtless part, and the lack of HUNK prevents me from using them, but they look so good! Especially Dredge.

@AnchorTea said:
OP is this an issue with maps or map OFFERINGS?
If it's the maps then the focus is the maps. Not map offerings. Removing them will ultimately fix nothing.
Both are issues honestly.
Even if they rework every map there will always be one map that is stronger than the others, and people will still use offerings to give themselves and advantage.
And given how their most recent map reworks have gone... I think removing map offerings would be more beneficial than anymore reworks...
-
Wish they would give us someone to know in game when it's off.
-
"I know there's going to be "well it covers your grunts of pain" yes by 75% so does Iron will by 75% and it doesn't have any other down side."
Iron Will does have a downside though, you can't use it with Exhaustion perks. That's a pretty big downside.
No Mither should stay as it is - a self-imposed hard mode. If you don't want that then just don't run it.

I wasn't saying that it was BHVR's choice, I simply said "We got the wrong Freddy license and thus we have the worst incarnation of Freddy. No fun vocals, outfits, music."
I'm aware of how much a pain it is to deal with WB license. They're the reason I'm not getting enough good DC games.
Sadly even if we got the OG Freddy he still wouldn't have vocals, outfits, or music and would still be boring to play.
Kinda glad we got the remake Freddy in the end because I wouldn't want them reducing the OG Freddy to a silent, boring M1 killer with no fun outfits.

YOUR opinion is that the game is improving. A purely SoloQ Survivor probably thinks the game just got a whole lot worse.
The average Killers matches probably got more difficult.
People are allowed and encouraged to voice their frustrations with the game. It's important to consider and acknowledge ALL feedback, not just the parts we agree with.
This is true. People are allowed to voice their concerns, and a negative review for the game is valid.
However, the negative reviews also spread to every single DLC. This is why this review bombing is wrong because it isn’t people voicing their concerns. The Resident Evil DLC isn’t why you don’t like the game, Halloween Chapter isn’t responsible for the Dead Hard nerf, Dredge isn’t responsible for slowdown nerfs.
This is why it is considered review bombing. People aren’t sending their feedback, they’re just pissed and trying to make the game look bad so it will be reverted.
Giving the game a bad review explaining why you don’t like the changes? Sure, fair.
Giving Sadako a bad review stating “Killer sided devs are nerfing Dead Hard!!!”? Review bombing.
Seriously read the DLC reviews and you’ll see that it’s just review bombing.

Technically, you can hit Lithe before they vault windows
And often if you read them right you can also get a hit right after they vault on the other side.
-
I’ve been seeing way more Lithe than Sprint Burst.
-
Not really having much fun right now.
Survivors are just bringing the most powerful addons and map offerings every game that it just feels like a chore to play. Hopefully it goes back to normal in a few days.
-
If people are getting games like this more often than not, you probably aren't as good at survivor as you think.
Nothing wrong with being bad, but I'm also pretty average at survivor and still escape most games.
My secret to winning as a subpar survivor? Just sit on gens!
Whenever I lose as survivor it's almost always because I'm the only one doing generators. Seriously, just do gens and you will have much easier games. You should almost never all die at 5 gens unless the killer is incredibly good or using the most overpowered stuff available.
-
Trapper always has and always will be in a sad state. His power is completely outdated and doesn't suit the way the game has gone.
At this point he needs a secondary power or a rework to be viable.
-
Ghostface, Hag, Trapper and Spirit should be higher.
Artist, Bubba and Plague should be lower.
-
As Quentin enthusiast, it is a mainstay in my build.
-
Holy ######### I can't believe they actually buffed the Hillbilly! I might actually have to play against him TWICE a month!
-
Hopefully sometime soon. Usually they announce this around the anniversary event.
I just wish it wasn't restricted to certain countries. Where I live hasn't been eligible to enter the last few :/
-
"We can't add a FoV slider because it would buff killers!!!"
Ok... and? So what if it is a buff? It's such a tiny buff that it isn't going to make a difference anyway. No one has ever thought "damn, I would have won if it wasn't for that pesky Shadowborn!"
So why does it matter if it is a buff? Killer FoV should be buffed anyway, it's terrible, both accessibility wise and playability wise.
And the whole argument that it needs to remain because "the game was built around small FoV" is not a good argument when the game also wasn't built around HUD icons, yet we got those because sometimes the original ideas are outdated and we need to improve. The survivor HUD update was a great change, and updating FoV would be just as good of a change.
So again... why does it matter if killers get a tiny buff for the sake of accessibility?

Having a build that sometimes make an unsafe pallet safe (and you have to be pretty good of a survivor to actually pull it of) is not much of a problem considering the killer can just break the pallet
Of course feel free to think vault speed builds are boring, but I disagree about not needing more chase perks for survivors (I don't mean stackable ones of course), i'd rather have a variety of chase builds to play or to go against, even if there's some I find boring, over going against the same 3 builds over and over again (which also end up feeling boring anyway).
How do you have to be a good survivor to do that? You just vault the pallet.
Vault speed is something that I think should never be touched (outside of Resilience). You can gain tons of value for doing nothing.
Unlike exhaustion perks which require timing or a specific situation to activate, vault speed builds don't require anything and are simply just "vault this window that you would've had to vault anyway but now you're safe". There's no mind game, no timing, no requirement, it's just "vault and gain value".
-
I honestly can't blame people for playing Wesker so much. Played him for the first time a few days ago and he's just so much fun. Even if I get destroyed I'm having fun.
What we need is more killers like Wesker, not more ways to increase queue times.
-
That power just sounds like the old Freddy but stronger.
-
Please don't body block for me. I am in a super safe area, I haven't been hooked, and I've already lasted longer in this one chase than all of yours combined. You can't last more than 5 seconds in chase and are one hook from death. All you're doing is wasting time. Please just do gens. Please don't follow me. Please don't block...
Aaaaand you decided to body block and now you've DCed....

@BougieBlackChick said:
You guys have no problem with tunneling and camping being legit strategies but want to take away survivors ability to use their BT hit as a strategy? 🤣🤣🤣 Y’all telling on yourselves big time. Just say you don’t ever want all survivors to be able to escape.
If you can camp a hook at endgame to ensure you get that kill, why can’t unhooked survivors take protection hits for each other during endgame to make sure they all escape?
You realise this would help against tunnelling too, right? If you have no collision killers can't body block you to wait out your BT.
And if the killer is trying to go for the unhooker but you are body blocking, then you aren't really in a position to complain about tunnelling...

Ironically, dead hard suffers from survivorship bias: killers only ever see when it works.
I'm pretty sure if the devs added a notification for just the killer when dead hard didn't work it would solve a number of issues.
They could make the killer hear the survivor shout 'I'm bad at the game' when they're exhausted on the ground and the dead hard complaints would lessen. Slightly. For a few days.
I actually think there already is a way for the killer to tell who got screwed over, you can tell by how they scream.
If they go down but the scream is drawn out, similar to how it sounds when they get injured, they probably Dead Harded but got validated.
If the survivor goes down and plays the shorter "knocked down" scream, they didn't Dead Hard or hit them after.
I've noticed this a lot when hitting survivors I know have Dead Hard and I don't know if this is actually a thing or if I'm just imagining it haha
