    • "If that perk activated upon every gens finished, literally everyone would complain about how broken it is, because it's absolutely free, doesn't require any work unlike current machine learning, then it's effect is strong as heck."

Yeah, just like everyone is complaining about Tinkerer. Free value out of losing 70% of a gen. Everyone's complaining.

    • "On the other hand I don't think being rewarded for losing is any way unhealthy though..."

Neither do I, mostly because "free rewards for losing" usually are just comeback mechanics. If we had, say, survivors getting gen speed according to the number of survivors killed or d/c or killers getting breaking speed or extra kicking regression according to how many survivors are alive and how many gens got done, that would be "rewarding people for losing", which is... exactly, a comeback mechanic to prevent stomps.

But the OP insists on using this just to call survivors bad and "babied", and the perk overpowered, which is where I disagree.

But people did complain about Tinkerer and it got nerfed because of it.

I swear some of you don't understand fundamental copyright law...

Look at Fortnite, Overwatch, and Fall guys, all of them do licensed skins, and all of them are limited some are limited to a single day, BHVR kept these skins reserved for us for an entire year, you had a whole YEAR to purchase them, but we still gotta complain because it's leaving now. The skins aren't even leaving, they're just leaving the store, it's just the same as any other limited-edition skin. I'm slightly disappointed that we continue to paint BHVR in a bad light when it comes to licenses, BHVR even confirmed that the stranger things license was all on Netflix's end, they even contacted Netflix asking if they could get their license back, and Netflix left them on read. it's not like BHVR wants to get rid of licenses, if a permanent option was available they'd go with it in a heartbeat, and that's why we basically have ghost face for good

Also, unlike Stranger Things, there's nothing to say that these cosmetics won't return again at some point. Fortnite occasionally brings back their licensed skins for a short time, so I could see BHVR bringing them back occasionally for small events.

  • It's a pretty good perk to run in solo queue and not that great in a SWF, which is a nice change for once. I personally think it's the most balanced repair speed perk.

  • Survivors can have good perks, it's just that broken perks are the only perks people consider good.

CoH, Dead Hard, Made For This were/are all broken perks. Nerfs were deserved. And Dead Hard is still a really good perk. It's just not busted anymore so people consider it bad.

Same with Lucky Break. A really good perk that got nerfed from it's busted state so now everyone just assumes it's bad. It's not, it's a really good perk. Fogwise and Reassurance are also good, but again no one runs them because they aren't as powerful as the top tier perks.

Hyperfocus is also really good but it requires skill which most survivors honestly lack so it doesn't see much use.

There are tons of pretty good or decent survivor (and killer) perks that see no use because why run them when the top tier perks are so powerful?

If perks have to be busted in order to have a chance at being meta, then that kinda shows how strong meta perks are.

Also, Windows, OtR, Distortion, and now Deja Vu received buffs and became good not that long ago, so yes, survivor can have good perks just not broken ones.

Im simply convinced that surv just want M1 killers constantly with boring powers.

Yall got tired of anti-loop killers and now are tired of gen defending killers plz unite on a decision of which one you would like cause Im honestly confused.

No we just want more killers who aren't oppressive like Nurse but have good chase powers that don't shut down loops and result in you having to hold W.

Killers like Wesker, Demo, Oni, Blight (without busted add ons), Billy (pre-nerf), Singularity, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head or even chase powers similar to Doctor. I even think Dredge's chase power is fine because it requires some skill to outplay someone at loops with it.

Killers like Skull Merchant, Artist, Knight, and to a lesser extent Hag where their main anti-loop is just "drop power and now survivor has to leave" are not fun. And then add on to that, their powers also work as gen defense. So you can't loop them or do gens. That's why these killers are hated because there is no scenario where you can have fun because all you do is just pre-drop every pallet and hold W and spend a couple seconds on gens before you have to repeat it all over again.

"While MFT gives it for free and permanent."

If it was permanent, people would have the effect either from the start of the game or from the moment they got hit and never lose it, but the effect deactivates as soon as you stop running around while wounded. It doesn't even help you walk faster.

"No, being injured is not your merit, this is your fault. The killer played better than you and you were injured. Imagine being rewarded for it."

    Let's see. Ahem.

Machine Learning: While Machine Learning is active, the next Generator you damage becomes compromised, highlighting its aura to you in yellow, until it is completed.

Upon its completion, you are granted the following effects for 20/25/30 seconds, after which Machine Learning deactivates:

    • Undetectable Status Effect.
    • +10 % Haste Status Effect.

I don't see you up in arms because this perk activates when the killer loses a gen, actively rewarding them for letting gens be done.

You kinda proved their point with the Machine Learning comparison.

Machine Learning is limited to 30 seconds and requires you to kick 2 generators and wait for them to finish it. And you can't kick any other generators or the perk will move to that gen.

Made For This has no time limit and only requires you to be injured.

So yes you do get rewarded for losing a gen with Machine Learning, but it has so many limitations AND it requires planning to use. It's a risk reward perk. You give up a gen for an effect that may not even activate at the right time.

Made For This has no risks, it's just rewards.

  • It’s nowhere near as bad as Borgo or Garden but still not great.

The main problem I have with it is that it’s very disorienting. I have no idea where I am or if the wall I’m looking at is a loop or just a random obstacle. Borge and Garden I at least know where I am on the map, Toba I have no idea which side of the ship I’m even on or where the shack is. There’s nothing that really stands out to tell you where you are, it’s just a random assortment of colours on your screen.

The main building is strong, but no where near as good as Garden or Red Forest.

I’ve also noticed that I can down survivors pretty easily at a lot of the loops, but at the same time I feel like that’s just because the loops are so different that survivors haven’t learned to loop them yet. I’ve seen some loops VERY close to each other but yet to see anyone actually chain them together.

The amount of obstacles is another big issue. Makes killers like Slinger, Billy and Singularity struggle. Singularity especially is frustrating because a single leaf on a tree can block 1% of a survivor and prevent you from shooting me and there are a LOT of trees.

  • From the wiki:

”This aspect to The Singularity's Power has not been officially confirmed yet, nor have the values been found in the Game's code.

However, there is video-evidence supporting this mechanic, as well as precedence set by other Killer Powers, such as The Mastermind or The Nightmare.

For each Slipstreamed Survivor, the duration of Overclock Mode is increased by +1 second, up to a maximum duration of 8.7 seconds.”

So yes Overclock does increase for every Slipstreamed survivor, but there’s no set values in the games code or any mention of it in game.

Maybe it’s a bug or a mechanic added last second?

One year. They came out July 19 2022 and are leaving July 19 2023. Likely just a 12 month licensing agreement that's ending.

Sorry thought it was longer than that.

The contract ending does seem likely then. Still, one year contract is pretty good for skins.

  • Yeah there was an Otz video on Agi-Starstruck.

I gave it a try and it’s honestly really fun and makes up for his EMP weakness.

I’ve tried tons of other builds on him but none of them feel as good as the Starstruck build.

  • I’m honestly surprised that it took this long to remove them. Most cosmetic collabs in games are only limited time but this lasted a few years.

Also unlike Stranger Things, this actually has a chance to come back at some point even if it’s just as a limited time sale.

I feel like thats more telling of killer balance than perk balance. If the perk has a balanced effect on the balanced killers, then its balanced. But since the weaker killers dont have any range or mobility or real chase potential, they actually do get their chasetime increase quite a bit. I think that these killer should just recieve some buffs, idk give the terrible m1 killers 5% or speed or smth

Yeah those killers do need buffs, but BHVR has already come out and said they have no plans to buff Trapper anytime soon so that’s not happening. It’s much easier to nerf a perk than it is to buff almost half the killer roster.

And it’s not balanced for the balanced killers, it’s balanced for the strongest killers.

  • 110 killers aren’t the ones I feel are hurt the most by this. They have some way to hit you from a distance, so they can make some progress. Hag and Trickster will still be weaker because of it, but not too bad.

The killers I think will be hurt the most by this are the 115 M1 killers like Myers, Trapper, and Sadako. And THIS is where the problem with this perk lies. It hinders the already weak killers while having next to next impact on the best killers like Nurse or Blight. 3% against Nurse is nothing, but 3% against Sadako is game changing. If a perk makes weak killers weaker but doesn’t effect the strongest, then it isn’t healthy for the game.

  • I feel like one major reason these games fail and Dead By Daylight didn’t is the that, as fair as I can tell, all those games allow the survivor role to fight back. And usually this led to the killer role being miserable to play while the survivors felt more powerful than the killer which lead to the killer being having to hide more than the survivors to avoid being stun locked for ages. The player base dies because queue times are skewed in an already small player base.

Then they either completely ignore this and let the game die or go overboard on killer buffs and make them overpowered, making the survivor role miserable and then the game dies.

F13 might have lived had it not been for the lawsuit, but even they followed this formula.

DBD was very survivor sided when it released, but the lack of ability to fight back and stun locks didn’t make you feel so completely powerless and all the overpowered stuff did eventually get nerfed without them making killers broken. Sure it’s not a balanced game, but they didn’t flip-flop between balancing and are actually making some effort to balance it and keep it fun.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre has potential to be really good, but people have already figured out a way to stun lock the killer for like 30 seconds.

I actually jist had this against a Leon as Wraith on Midwich. Even when cloaked he was always ahead of me without windows, pallets, or backtracking, when he fell from the second story he never had impact lag, and every window gave him Lithe. He tried being subtle about it in the beginning but by endgame he was just running around at the speed of sound teabagging

Yes this is exactly what happens!

They start subtle but then when they start to lose or get caught cheating they just go full super speed.

I agree that the Netease skins are nice, but it kind of feels like a suspiciously high volume of premium quality cosmetics. It makes me wonder how they can afford that.

If you mean how can Netease afford them, it’s because that’s all they make.

They use the main games assets and even then it’s not up to date (last I checked they still had the original Haddonfield, the old Mori mechanic and they haven’t even ported over Midwich or Lery’s yet)

So if the main game makes all the characters, balance changes, and maps (and they still are very behind on most of that) then they can just put most of their money into cosmetics and then sell them through a gacha mechanic to make it back.

And even then a lot of the cosmetics are just reskins of the same outfit slapped onto multiple characters. Like the first 2 Zarina skins above you, most of the women in the game have the same outfit just in different colours.

Other than some really nice cosmetics and unique mori animations, Mobile sucks ass.

DH and healing got gutted and the killer is the power role, all things that the killers specifically asked the dev to do.

This means chases are not worth it. You are either a cracked looper with a really lucky pallet/window spawn or your chase will last 20 seconds.

The moment the first player goes down, it's a race against the clock, as you'll have two players busy with rescuing and healing (the rescuer and the rescued) and a third player in chase, dramatically reducing your gen repair efficency.

What this means is, if you're not close to 1 generator remaining by the first two minutes, the game is essentially lost.

DH allowed some innefficency to slip by, but it's now dead, so everyone is stressed out of their minds to have a sliver of a chance to win, and what you're asking them to do is to ignore the objective and essentially doom themselves.

So... yeah. People asked for this meta.

This meta was already is play when Dead Hard existed. People were already pumping gens as fast as they could because it’s what you should be doing. Dead Had nerf had nothing to do with it.

You are right that the medkits nerfs did impact this though because now people bring toolbox/BNP and stay injured for Adrenaline so you have more time on gens. If Dead Hard was still in its pre-nerf form, this meta would be stronger because the risk of staying injured with Adrenaline would just be removed.

Both the med kit nerf and Dead Hard nerf were 100% justified and even if gens go a slight bit faster the game is much more balanced than it was previously. Same goes for the regression nerfs.

As for chests and totems, you should be on a gen whenever you can. Theres nothing else to do. Chests are Totems are a waste of time, especially since you can bring your own item and no one runs Hex perks anymore.

I guess it is exactly as in other games with EAC. Around 20% cheaters overall, maybe 30% cause EAC is a really bad anti-cheat.

But yes there are more and more killers that know exactly where survivors are without any aura perks, finding quiet survivors in dead zone of the map.

It happens everyday in 10-20% of my games.

I feel like this one’s a bit hard to judge whether they are hacking or not.

I’ve been accused of wall hacking often when really it was just luck, crows, I saw them head off in that direction earlier, or game sense (such as seeing someone heal in a very short time so I know they are in a locker with Inner Healing).

Back when it was bugged and slowed all survivor progress bars and many players abused it.

That wasn't Sloppy that was Mangled. They can't kill switch a status effect.

If they kill switched Sloppy those people who abused it would have just started abusing Gift of Pain or Mangled add ons.

  • Pop was the best designed regression perk they've made. Glad to see it might be useful again.

    1. Lithe and Sprint Burst (depends on your playstyle)
    2. Adrenaline
    3. Balanced Landing
    4. Overcome
    5. Dead Hard
    6. Background Player
    7. Head On
    8. Smash Hit

If "Made for This" does become meta like some people think then Dead Hard and Lithe will probably be number 1 next patch.

  • @CorvusCorax86 said:

    Never really saw a hacker.

How can you tell it's speed hacking?

First survivor ran me around a small obstacle, I was still slower than them in Bloodlust 3.

Second survivor ran so fast they were on the other end of the map is 2 seconds.

Third survivor I used Feral Frenzy while right behind him and still couldn't catch up.

Sometimes you can't tell because they are very subtle, but these guys were very obvious and didn't try to hide it.

  • They said the Finisher Mori is still being worked on with everyone's feedback being taken into account and the one showed was just a prototype. Since the basekit UB is no longer a thing I think it's safe to say that the Mori won't function like the old system.

This also probably isn't going to come out for a long time. There's no need to worry about it right now.

I see people quit out of CoD games, OW QP games and Battlefield games all the time without any sort of punishment.

    Overwatch has backfill.

Imagine if leaving an Overwatch QP game caused your team to never get another teammate simply because your teammate didn’t want to play against a Hanzo. It would be miserable, just like DBD or comp Overwatch is.

And even so, if you spend any time in the Overwatch community you can see just how much people hate the amount of leavers in that game. I wish there were harsher dc penalties in QP because I’m sick of someone leaving every game in QP. And I’m tired of having to backfill every second game.

As for CoD and Battlefield I’ve never really played so I can’t really speak for them, but from what I can tell those games aren’t really as team reliant as DBD so a leaver is not as impactful so the penalty doesn’t need to be that harsh.

  • The increased stun is needed since he gets kicked out of stealth when stunned. Otherwise you could just use Enduring + Spirit Fury and get an instant uncloak.

Picking up survivors while cloaked is a good change that I’ve been wanting for a while. He can already do that with lockers anyway, so I don’t see why picking up downed survivors is a problem. Just have him uncloak during the pick up animation.

  • @Pulsar said:

    Precisely.

We don't know how good basekit Blight is because WHY would you run that when he has all these crazy addons?

Just nerf his add ons across the board first and then see if his base kit still needs to be addressed.

But we do have a basic idea of how balanced he is without those add ons.

For the first year or 2 of his release no one ran Adrenaline Vial or C33 and mostly ran turning, speed and aura add ons. Alc. Ring and double speed were the only bad combos, but they weren't that common because everyone ran turning to counteract his awful camera placement.

It wasn't until they massively buffed Adrenaline Vial and top Blight players kept talking about how underrated C33 is that they ended up becoming an issue. And of course they fixed his camera bug so turning add ons aren't as useful anymore, freeing up an add on slot for double speed or one of the other busted add ons every game (also turning add ons mess with techs, so why run them now).

So he wasn't really an issue back when people ran less busted add ons. So just nerf those first and see what happens.

I was. People hated the idea of FNAF in DBD WAY before that. Literally any post of Fnaf here on the subreddit was bashed long before Hellraiser.

If this were the reason, everyone would be just as pissed with the idea of Candyman, who’s fans were even more obnoxious during a similar period.

The real reason people hate on it is because it was everywhere and popular with kids so it become cool to hate on it, like Fortnite and Minecraft.

I can say the same of killers that uses perks that is meta and requires no skill like franklins=just m1 a survivor and they lose their items + a their charges. I dont care if its nerfed but ofc amma put the popular noed, devour hope at least require the killer to put in some work with hooks and what not. Scratch marks/pools of blood/aura reading perks/killer instinct, spies from shadow(very underrated perk), infectious fright even some killers with their kit like doc was able to find iron will survivors so its not as if there was not any counter play to it, there is about 20 of them.

Franklin’s isn’t meta, nor is its effect that powerful. Also you just listed that you have to do something to activate it - you have to M1 the survivor. NOED also got nerfed the same time as Iron Will, so I don’t see how that is a good comparison when it was also nerfed.

Iron Will had an insanely powerful effect, one of the strongest effects in the game, with no downside and the only requirement was to be injured. Spirit was not the reason it was nerfed, it was nerfed because just about every meta perk was nerfed.

  • The P100 Trapper alone is rare to see.

  • They mentioned that they were aware of two floor maps like The Game and were just waiting to see how it plays out before adjusting it. If it's an issue, they'll probably fix it before it goes live.

This also is not coming in the anniversary PTB, so they've got awhile to adjust it.

Iron will was it and all the cry baby spirit mains was the reason it was nerfed. Sadly no there is no counter play to her ,, those who say use head phones need to understand that is just a very poor excuse to not admit how no skill and easy a spirit is and this is why I rather a nurse, you can at least anticipate when to juke a blink and she actually requires=skill but spirit is more like pray you even can get away, cause that so call audio queue nerf is not even a nerf, more like a buff, she was to get a nerf to kick dust up when phasing with audio que but for some reason bvhr didnt do it. Also yes thats all they do tunnel/go back to every unhook like any high mobility killer.

"Cry baby Spirit mains" were absolutely not the reason Iron Will was nerfed. It was nerfed because it was a powerful meta perk that gave you a massive benefit for doing nothing with no downside.

Spirit even got the perk buffed before they added her audio cues. Spirit players had nothing to do with the Iron Will nerf. The only perk Spirit played a role in nerfing was Stridor.

Sorry, I meant we were "left in the dark" about why it was removed. I mean it was pretty obvious it was because of Netflix, but now we have confirmation that it was Netflix's fault. To be fair, we don't actually know if this will be a good change yet, especially given their latest reworks. They somehow made Mother's Dwelling and Gas Heaven more unbalanced so I wouldn't put it past them to make Cowshed worse...

There would only be two bans for you individually, or two per swf. 1 of them is always going to be Skull Merchant for obvious reasons, if not her than Twins. The other one will most likely be one of the many annoying killers in the game, but that could be anyone who that person doesn't like. There's so many preferences that I doubt anything would change for anyone except for Skull Merchant players, but that's deserved tbh.

Skull Merchant already isn’t very common, and people just DC within one second anyway. I doubt she would be the most banned killer. Same with Twins. Why waste a ban on a 1 in 100 killer?

Most people would ban one of Nurse, Blight, Spirit, or Legion and then cycle through whichever killer they currently are playing against a lot and are sick of (so probably a lot of Wesker, Nemesis, Wraith bans).

High MMR survivors would just ban Nurse and Blight.

Low MMR would just ban Bubba and Wraith. And this is where the biggest problem lies. Wraith and Bubba are the best killers for new players to play, if these are banned and their queue times rise they’re just gonna stop playing killer.

  • Killer bans should not be implemented. It would have no effect other than increasing queue times and punishing people just because they want to play a certain killer.

Map bans are what map offerings should be. It shouldn’t be something you can do all the time, but as an offering it would be fine and be a rework to map offerings, which currently need to be addressed.

    @JustAnotherNewbie said:

I'm not thrilled with the idea. Cause that means you never learn to play against those killers or certain maps and on top of that it will not be guaranteed that just because you banned something you will not get it 100% of the time. You can't get even on a team with people on the same level as you a lot of times.

As for map bans I'm not sure. I've read that if a killer is consistently winning the system actually gives them a weak map. Now imagine a (strong) killer opting out of his weakest map. No thanks.

There is no system that gives you a bad map if you are winning too much. Bhvr doesn’t even know what maps are even bad, they used to think the original Haddonfield was balanced. The only map system that exists is map repeat prevention.

I still don't see the issue. Equipping this means one less perk slot only to disorient the killer a bit. One less slot for healing, repairing or exhaustion perks.

Plus, injured sounds would make this only ever useful while healthy, and scratch marks makes this only ever useful if you can hide without making a second trail of scratch marks towards you, otherwise the killer will reengage.

And we still haven't talked about activation conditions or anything of the sort. It's niche enough that I don't see how anyone would be against it.

Yes... perks should have effects but not powerful uncounterable ones.

However, I didn't think of the scratch marks thing. If there are no scratches from the copy then I guess it has counterplay and so it's fine.

I don't see what's so bad about it. It doesn't increase repair speed, it doesn't increase healing speed, attacking it will only make you lose as much time as a missed attack, and in the best case scenario (decoy while being chased) is super easy to handle just by trying not to break LoS for too long.

Like, at best, this would be a meme perk for fun. Not much different to Diversion or Deception.

Diversion and Deception are easy to tell when they are activated. This wouldn’t be. Run behind a wall, activate, and now the killer doesn’t know who is who. Vault a window from a height, then activate it when you land and now the killer can’t tell which is real because they can’t look down while vaulting.
