  • Don’t know about survivors, but giving killers an iridescent weapon for reaching P100 would be a cool way to show it off.

  • Which ever side I’m playing against has it easy 😡

  • If they didn’t have any of the perks shown in game, then my guess is that they were doing the Random Perk archive but it bugged out and showed the wrong build.

  • A bunch of useless add ons get minor buffs that make no impact.

Freddy’s Z Block now causes Haemorrhage for an additional ten seconds!

  • @DEMONANCE said:

but you can already bring a medkit with you for the trial, pharmacy allows you to get more when you need them.

if they made it like you're asking it seems like it would be making the perk worse.

Chances are though that by the time you need the med kit all the chests have already been searched. One guaranteed med kit anytime you want is better than possibly 3 while you are injured.

You could still bring a med kit and then rummage a chest when you need it later. You don't have to do it at the start, but if you want to the option is still there. So it's not a nerf outside of the rare scenarios where you can search all 3 chests.

  • You can't undo it but don't worry nothing will happen.

In game reports don't do anything on their own. You need to submit a ticket with video or photo evidence before they'll take any action against someone.

You're good. If they took every in game report seriously we'd all be banned haha.

  • White Ward only protects the add on if you are holding the item when you die.

    So it won't save:

    • Any add ons if you are not holding the item on death (i.e., hit with Franklin's Demise)
    • Any add ons if the item is consumed by an add on (i.e., Syringe and Styptic)
    • Any add ons that are consumed on use (i.e., Brand New Part)

So as long as you are holding the item on death, any add ons still attached to it will be saved.

Any idea on when the Iron Maiden Collection is going to release? Hopefully within the next couple of months

The Naughty Bear skin is supposedly releasing around Halloween, so I imagine these will also be around that time as well?

    Just a guess though.

Let it go. MFT on its own is not a problem. Ppl have issues with it stacking with hope which is an endgame, which is a time that anything goes at that point. We dont see issues with endgame combinations like noed, no way out etc. So why yall have an issue with mft and hope.

Hope stacking isn’t the main problem. Near permanent 3% for the entire game is the issue.

Noed + No Way Out has no effect until the end game, where as MFT is activate the entire game and simply gets stronger in the end game.

If Noed gave its 4% Haste before the end game, it would be comparable. That would also be absolutely busted.

  • Managed to get Ghostface to P30 so far. One day I’ll get to 100 :)

It is not fun to encounter the same killer more than 3 times in a row, daily as well

But playing AS him is fun.

The only way to fix the Wesker situation is to make the other killers more fun. Don’t necessarily need to buff them, but make them feel more fun and smooth to play.

Or they could just do what they did to Pyramid Head and make him so clunky that no one’s wants to play him anymore…

They’re probably basing it on numbers. That because something ‘feels’ overpowered doesn’t mean, logistically, it is.

Yeah this is most likely the reason. Everything comes down to the stats for balance.

Same reason why OoO took so long to be nerfed or why Trapper and Myers are “in a good place”. Probably the reason Blight’s add ons are not being nerfed too.

It’s unfortunate, but that’s how this game is balanced for the most part.

I do think MfT is a terribly designed perk but if the stats show it’s fine I guess we’re stuck with it for now and just have to get used to it.

  • Don't beat yourself up over it. You're just starting as killer and it's the anniversary so the matchmaking is probably not working correctly due to the sudden influx of players. Killer is really difficult when you first start, especially when you get paired against people who are outside of your skill level. With time it will get easier, but I can understand how frustrating and unfun it feels. And it depends on the killers you are playing. Some of them are not beginner friendly at all and will make learning the basics of Killer a lot more difficult.

I know a few have already offered, but I'd be more than happy to give you advice if you want. Just let me know what you're having trouble with :)

  • Survivors also can make multiple mistakes and still win.

It doesn't come down to who makes the most mistakes, it comes down to who can capitalise off the opponents mistakes the most.

If a survivor makes a mistake and the killer takes advantage of that, they get a quick down, maybe a snowball, or even just a simple hit which can often lead to a victory if the killer plays their cards right.

Same for the other side. If a killer makes a mistake and the survivors capitalise on it, then they are more likely to win. But if you're just walking around doing chests or just hiding then you're not taking advantage of it and the killer's mistake goes unpunished.

So if all the killers you play against are making several mistakes and you are still losing most of your games, you're either making more mistakes/much bigger mistakes than the killer is or you're not taking advantage of the killers mistakes.

Oh I wasn't trying to correct you I just remember at some point they swapped the priority of those due to the slugging. I just couldn't remember which was first because it had been so long. Admittedly you brought back a lot of memories by mentioning it.

I think it's just kind of cool looking back and remembering how things were. Even remembering Freddy being used as a test model for when they were testing Spirit and them showing this live on a weekly dev stream.

In fact here since I brought it up.

    https://youtu.be/b8NYSnA2B7k

There's the full stream and at the second thumbnail is a timestamped video.

    https://youtu.be/b8NYSnA2B7k?t=2476

I miss those weekly streams - To me it was the best part about the game was the dev interactions.

Yeah I miss them too :(

Even if nothing was announced during them it was still always fun.

I may be misremembering but at the start wasn't it you had to wake up the survivor while they were in the Dying State and then heal them? I remember something along those lines with every Freddy equipping Knockout specifically for slugging builds since they essentially had built in Deerstalker.

Yes! You are correct I got it mixed up. Thanks for the correction :)

Tbf when Freddy initially dropped he was extremely oppressive, which was why he was dialed back with those nerfs. He was probably on par with Spirit.

He wasn't oppressive people just didn't know how to play against him. The only possibly oppressive thing that the release version of Freddy had going for him was slugging (on release you had to heal someone up from dying and THEN wake them up), but even then Nurse & Billy were still better sluggers back then.

  • As a Ghostface main, I love having everyone 99 stalked or injured and then waiting for the right moment to trigger a massive snowball. I might only have a few hooks stages at 1 gen left, but I know I can still win if I play right :D

Also reading your opponent correctly and pulling off a successful mind game is really fun.

  • Survivors finally realised they can win more by doing gens instead of just doing nothing.

I hope this continues on past the event. Having teammates doing gens for once is nice.

  • Nurse is the problem in this scenario, not Lethal Pursuer.

  • @DavidHypnos said:

Honestly, I’m against them toning down anything to make scratch marks easier to track. Having maps that are more challenging for different styles of gameplay is great in my opinion.

I disagree, scratch marks should always be consistent. Using scratch marks aren’t a different style of play, they are an integral part of all play styles.

And Toba is already a very visually cluttered map so having no LOS or scratches is not something they should aim for. Ormond also has issues with scratch mark visibility but it isn’t cluttered so it’s not that big of a deal, even though I think Ormond should have easier to see scratch marks.

  • Yeah I’ve noticed that as Killer I’m getting a lot more survivors around my level. I’m not just stomping babies one game and then going against pros the next. It feels more balanced, even if it means having to sweat a bit more.

Did they actually change anything? Or is it just because there are more players due of the Anniversary that the MMR can actually work?

  • He's just frustrating to play. I don't think he's as weak as people say, but playing him is a chore.

I honestly have more fun losing as Ghostface or Legion than winning as Singularity. And I'd rather have fun.

  • I was going to get face camped regardless of the event, at least I made 500% more BP.

The maps are literally in the killer's favor with a power like this. Doesn't killer instinct activate when survivors enter the terror radius? Just hold W in a direction for 5 seconds and you'll probably see somebody.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3463409#Comment_3463409

Skill is largely irrelevant in this game for survivors. Once you learn the basics there really isn't much more to learn. You run at the same speed with no sprint ability. There are only pallets and vaults to use which are limited. The game is very basic. We don't exactly have a lot of options when in chase with the killer. Its really just run until you get downed or the killer chases someone else.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3463450#Comment_3463450

Killers can break pallets. Survivors cannot mend and are forced to endlessly move if chased with deep wounds or they will be forced into the dying state. What is the survivor supposed to do in this situation with having to deal with deep wounds that only goes away if you mend it? Its completely unfair that legion can abuse this power on a single survivor when its designed to help them find other survivors.

If don’t see anyone with killer instinct after hitting the first survivor, you’re not going to be able to hit anyone else before Frenzy runs out. The duration is too short to be able to run across the map and then chase them before it runs out.

If you see no one in Frenzy your best choice is to cancel and continue chasing.

Legion is already weak, they don’t need any nerfs.

  • @Supernaut said:

I can't even get it to work. Shows random perks in loadout and then gives me my perk loadoout.

    FFS

This happened to me as well. I think it’s bugged so sometimes the first game you play with it enabled doesn’t work.

Try selecting the challenge and then play a few games without turning it off and it should work.

  • Fire Up, Ruin, Plaything, Iron Maiden on Ghostface.

Ruin was cleansed literally as soon as the game started.

Thankfully one of them was a Head On user so Iron Maiden actually came in useful haha

  • No one was playing Singularity even when Wesker was disabled.

  • Base kit Unbreakable was tested and it didn't work.

The easiest way to fix 4 minutes slugs is just to give the survivors the option to bleed out/give up if they've been slugged for a minute or so. That way the killer can't be toxic and hold games hostage for 4 minutes anymore but it doesn't have any effect on the balance of normal slugging, which is fine as it is.

Self-unhook is part of the anti-camping mechanic they'll be adding later this year.

  • You don't need to escape, you just need to survive until either an exit gate is open or the hatch spawns.

I'm assuming they've done it this way so survivors don't just throw games after they've gotten the invitation.

  • You can report a player using this link:

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

You also needed to have submitted a report in game or they won't do anything about it.

  • At this point it’s to be expected that by your first down at least one gen is finished or about to pop.

Sometimes 2-3 can pop before your first down. This is still winnable in most cases. The final 2 gens is where most of the action happens.

What I’ve personally found to be the most useful is to stop using regression (at most just 1 is enough) and rely on tracking and chase oriented perks to help build up pressure. If you can reliably get downs fast, eventually the gens will slow enough for you to secure a kill. And if you managed to get a kill before the last gens pops, you’re almost guaranteed to secure a second if played right.

It’s can be hard, especially on maps like Garden or Borgo, but if you know how to build pressure and down efficiently you can still 4K.

  • Ghostface. The stalking speed add on is one of his best and it’s a brown add on.

I also like to use his power recovery (also brown).

Remember back when his power recovery was 30 seconds and you had to use a green add on just to knock it down to 24 seconds? Well now with a BROWN add on it only take 14 seconds!

  • If you don't spend your BP on the character you are playing then you might not have any.

And a lot of people would've just bought new characters they would probably be levelling them up but not playing them as they are too low level.

  • Base-kit BT was also for anti-tunnelling and they and they tried anti-slugging mechanics with base-kit Unbreakable.

So yes I do think they will do something about them at some point. Probably not for awhile, but at some point.

"Because sabotage duration is long enough to the point just staying there makes it waste of time"

assuming they will wait for that hook to return? There plenty of hooks in close proximity of each other on half the maps. You can just option select to the next hook once there wiggle regress depending on the rate of the regression. also assuming survivors are not trying to heal them up which will be reason enough to stay as well.

"and that is largely made from assumption wiggle meter regress quickly which wasn't the case"

yeah i don't know what the wiggle regression rate was back in the day (way before my time). I can see your point but the change just isn't needed to me.

    Wiggle regression was 0.05 c/s.

So it took nearly 5 and a half minutes to fully regress a 99% wiggle.

It was next to useless honestly. By the time it had done any worthwhile regression they were already up.

  • I like the healing animation.

If any survivor animation should be updated its Nemesis's vaccines.

Yeah I see Nurse probably once every 50 games. Blight much more often. And Nurse has also been nerfed multiple times now.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3458526#Comment_3458526

The survivors got like no BP. They basically did not try. Compare that to OP's survivors' BP amounts

Yeah that’s my point. Any killer can do this because any game can suddenly go in favour of one side. You can’t judge anything from a random endgame screenshot. These survivors did try, they just ######### up really early and basically gave me a free kill.

Also I already posted a picture above with similar stats to the OP but again it shows nothing.

    Congrats, it's looks decent win.

And i still don't think any killer can do that much. Because most of Blights are not using strong perks but yet, they are winning most of games. This is just not possible for most of killers.

    LegionWin.png

    They can.

Of course Blight is stronger than most other killers and his addons should be toned down, but every killer can 4k with 2 mid perks because most teams aren't good.

None of these screenshots mean anything because we don't know how the game actually played. You don't know how skilled the survivors in my games were, and I don't know how skilled you and the Blight were.

If that Blight went against a pro team, or even a team of survivors on his skill level, he probably would've lost.

Still, a 2k is a draw and I think it's kind of far for someone to be able to tie a game based on skill alone.

(Also doing this has made me realise how much I love Shadowborn)

  • GhostiePic.png

Any killer can do it. Of course if you are versing a pro team you can't, but the average survivor team isn't that good.

This took me one attempt and it was on Toba Landing.

I do agree that some of Blight's addons should be nerfed though. But this isn't the reason why.

  • Most killers considering the average survivor is really bad.

But if they were on the same level, still most.

A single basement hook can sometimes be enough for Trapper or Bubba to win.

Myers can with Tombstone. Sadako can with condemn build. A skilled Huntress is a threat against most teams. Hillbilly can win in a few seconds with just Lethal Pursuer.

Nurse is Nurse. Spirit with Mother-Daughter Ring is busted.

    Skull Merchant because everyone DCed.

Any killer with an Exposed perk against a cocky team.

A camper against an altruistic team.

I've gotten my ass kicked by an Oni with just Shadowborn.

Man, if only bloodlust deactivated on hitting a survivor, breaking chase even inside loops, breaking a pallet or wall, using your killer's power, or making enough distance from the killer instead of being as active as long as MFT can be.

    Oh wait-

Don’t forget that being stunned also removes bloodlust.

  • Friday the 13th is undeniably the most iconic franchise, so if we took what that said literally then F13 is a possibility.

However, FNAF is also heavily requested, especially on their Twitter, so I could see them trying to hype that up.

But since we are getting Nicolas Cage, at this point it could be literally anything, it might not even be directly horror related. It could be Scooby Doo or Batman at this point.

  • @nars said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3458147#Comment_3458147

so doesnt that make it better than MFT? if nurse doesnt care for MFT, but does care for lithe, then logically lithe is stronger. Another comparison: SB. Very similar to lithe. Should we nerf SB because the activation at the start of a chase makes committing a much worse idea for low tier killers? No, because its effect on high tier killers is powerful but reasonably so. Its a pretty simple principle.

If it has a balanced effect on balanced killers, then its balanced. If it has un unbalanced effect (whether stronger or weaker) on unbalanced killers then its unbalanced. if blights getting obliterated by something then theres probably a problem, as it'll problem eliminate lower tiers entirely. But if blights not having an issue, and neither is demo or wesker etc, but trapper and sadako are... is that an issue with the balance of the perk or the balance of the killers? If the only killers really hurt by it are the ones who are already very weak thenthose killers need buffs not the other way around. trappers needed buffs for centuries and sadako is arguably the worst killer in the game. Why should we nerf MFT for them when its only a problem because they suck so badly?

The killers are weak, but even if you buff them the perk will still hurt them proportionally more.

Let’s say we gave Trapper the ability to start with all of his traps. He would be massively buffed, but he would STILL be hurt way more by MfT than Nurse simply because he still has no way to catch up quick.

So basically the only way to balance it is to give every killer a catch up or anti chase power, which is not possible or good for the game.

And if we balance the game around a single perk, what happens if you don’t run MFT? You’re massively disadvantaged.

If you have to rework every killer to balance a perk then the perk is the problem.

Yeah but you don't want to be Fortnite.

    https://twitter.com/HYPEX/status/1612964177798111232

Imagine BHVR/AoT announcing the outfits will be back in roughly 3 years. I don't see how the money gains would have more worth than the trust you lost with your customer base.

I already cannot tolerate BHVR's current "wait a year" for rift and event cosmetics.

I’d rather it return in 3 years then never honestly.

  • I think regression is in a good place right now. Doesn’t feel oppressive but still impactful. I hope we don’t get anymore regression perks for awhile.

I personally think gen speed is alright currently. Some things could be tweaked like BNP and Prove Thyself, but for the most part it’s fine.

  • Same with Wesker. For each infected survivor his power recharges 0.5 seconds faster yet there's no mention of it in game.

The power descriptions in game are all pretty bad and miss a lot of stuff.

Artist's doesn't mention Idle Crow's can swarm survivors if they walk into them.

Dredge's doesn't mention that he can climb into a locker that he opens.

Hillbilly's flick is not mentioned at all.

Nurse's doesn't even tell you she can go through walls. It literally just says "Grants the Blink" without telling you what the blink is.

  • Save the Best For Last: Every time you stun the killer gain a token up to a max of 8 tokens. For each token increase pallet stun time by 5%.

Blast Mine: After chasing survivors for 45 seconds, Blast Mine activates. The next Generator you damage will install a trap. The next survivor to repair the generator will be blinded and suffer the Incapacitated status effect for 5 seconds. (Not OP but it would be funny to give survivors a taste of being blinded)

  • Machine Learning requires you to kick 2 gens actually. One to activate it, one to apply it.

So if a gen is 99% and you want Machine Learning on it, you have to leave to kick a different one and then go back to kick the first one (assuming it hasn't been completed yet). And then if it doesn't get finished you can't kick any other gens or the perk will move to that gen. And when it is completed you might not even be in a situation for it to be useful.

It's way to finnicky and situational to be useful. The other haste perks you mentioned have way less requirements and management going into them than Machine Learning does.

1 … 24 25 26 27 28 … 36
