Still havent addressed the actual core gameplay issue and why people used ruin to make up for it
......also havent addressed how you are just hiding your bad MM system even more....
-
Siege should take notes and balance around Bronze and Silver players, it will make the game much better I feel! /s
you're preaching to the choir, everyone has been saying this for months yet the devs either are too ignorant to address them or simply do not care
removing ranks instead of fixing Matchmaking btw
-
More like they are stepping on it's neck
-
they removed the "what" instead of addressing the "why"
-
Why clean your room when you can push everything under your bed
seems to apply to a lot of changes to this game
-
People seem to be forgetting ruin is a TOTEM and if the lower ranks don’t wanna play through it, they can look for it and cleanse it assuming it isn’t found within the first minute.
But apparently giving players a challenge in skill checks AND offering them a counter to it is too much
-
I mean it’s pretty clear devs have a closed minded way of thinking
it’s their way or the highway, and any constructive criticism is met by “well just try it” despite everyone and their mother already knowing the difference between a game with ruin and one without
late game hex perk btw
-
There will be starting tomorrow
-
A nerfed ruin
an arguably nerfed and worse Doc
a post game without ranks to hide their MM system instead of fixing it
oh yes, I cannot wait :)
-
It’s almost like ruin was nerfed without addressing why it was so popular
devs have done enough dumb shiz over the years and should be called out for it
the removal of ranks in post game further add to this

It's my opinion. You killers like to remind everyone that everyone can have one
You have made several threads with multiple accounts just to bait people
nobody cares that you want attention
-
and in many games it gives the killer time to build pressure
but ok
-
I would argue otherwise, but what's the point anymore
-
Because it exposes their god awful MM system and made me people want to stop playing
I'm still convinced being able to see ranks in lobby was a test for this
-
Or just don't change ruin...
also keep post-game ranks and bring back ranks in lobby LOL
-
i already replied to alot of these threads so instead i will simply say
lol
-
Nothing, why would I still play killer?
-
STOP COMPLAINING. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR THE GAME
evidently neither do they
-
Killer gameplay will change
Now they will camp, tunnel and run NOED even more instead

Killer mains asking for meta survivor perks nerf after the ruin nerf suddenly forgot about Decisive, BT, Mettle of Man, Balanced Landing, but hey, devs are biased against killers, right? Grow up, while I don't have a problem with the current Ruin, this change might mean that something else will come in the game soon after this change, something like gen speed, they are planning things for the long term for a few months now, so chill.
but im a survivor main and i know this is insane
also DS should be deactivated on separate hook

Killer main's input: if y'all can't live without Ruin, then you probably need to reconsider how good you are at killer.
Im Rank 1 killer right now, Ruin helps weak killers build pressure, and without it they are even weaker. Behavior took out the "what" without addressing the "why"
Im just gonna past my reply from another thread:
It's the maps and how most killers lack any sort of pressure. You get a larger map as a lower end killer, gens are going to fly by as they will be close to popping if not already by the time you get there because you had to walk for 2 minutes to cross the map.
It's why killers like Spririt or Billy who have that movement speed to build pressure do well on most/all maps, they can play around the size, but legion or clown just get rammed and now that ruin is a best a passing thought, they are even weaker

I honestly don't see the reason to be surprised, they say people use ruin for a dumbass emblem, instead of tackling the main problem, gen speed
Gen speed itself isn't the issue and I feel people get this confused;
It's the maps and how most killers lack any sort of pressure. You get a larger map as a lower end killer, gens are going to fly by as they will be close to popping if not already by the time you get there because you had to walk for 2 minutes to cross the map.

i tend to play more survivor, not some killer main tho i play both at reds
TL;DR pig got nerfed
-
I stopped playing alot of killer, got rank 1 by just playing again though this month but I am generally playing survivor (always red ranks) because it's more fun for me
To me, Ruin isnt an issue, I maybe miss 1 or 2 checks and that if im not paying attention, but if the killer isnt running it, I know the game is effectively over assuming the others are competent. The amount of % you get from consistent great checks is actually nuts and if I or one of the others are being chased and know what they are doing/got good map RNG, the game will fly by.
Most Killers don't have strong map pressure and on the bigger maps its made worse, Behavior axed the perk that helps with this instead of addressing the why.

third post in like 20 minutes about the same thing
its kinda true, the amount of NOEDs, even at the higher ranks (even tho rank doesnt mean alot) it gonna see a big rise
"end game hex perks are strong"
-
I will continue to say it: Maps are too big for most killers and now without ruin, they will have even more of a horrible time
So nothing new honestly

I would definitely say give it a try first. Having played around with it, it can be pretty nasty once you get some pressure. Combine it with Surveillance and you also get some outrageous tracking (since generators automatically regress). You'll always know which generators are being worked on.
Please read this and respond as I'm genuinely curious: Do you guys play your own game at the higher ranks?
Ruin, while overused I agree, is essentially required in the early game due to the gen speeds going lightning fast. The pressure it helps killers build can buy them time to find survivors and starts making downs. Assuming it isn't cleansed in the first 2 minutes, which it usually is and will continue to be, it can be extremely useful at applying pressure. While I hit ruin checks 9/10 times, when a game starts and the killer doesn't have it, I think "well this game is pretty much over."
Against an even slightly knowledgeable a team, even a top tier killer (spirit, nurse, etc) can be looped long enough for 2-3 gens to pop before first hook. This is not to even mention SWF which if good can already plow through ruin but will be even stronger now that they have nothing to even slightly slow them down. If that happens, it's usually GG unless the killer has NOED, tunnels, or does some other annoying thing that will get them at best 1 kill. The weaker killers, (Clown, Legion etc) who have little to no map pressure or mobility suffer even more as gens can pop before they even find a single person. These killers on the bigger maps are basically playing a loss unless the survivors are complete potato. I am Rank 1 and 2 on both sides currently but haven't played killer lately due to the amount of RNG they rely on with maps, among other issues, the changes to Ruin just shows how little you understand your own game as playing solo survivor and relying on randoms is a much easier time than killer (as it always has been tbh.)
Without proper map pressure, most killers relied on ruin to make up for their lack of it in their kit, and with the amount of massive maps with heavy RNG that can screw over a killer completely, this change will just drive more people to either : Quit, Play survivor, or force more people to play the same 3-4 killers who have a sense of pressure.
(btw taking away the weaker killers' main perk for pressure in a way is a nerf to pig, thought it was funny and sad)
-
a killer that has a power that is good in chases, has map pressure, and isn't nerfed after a week
i guess we can only dream
....or just stop making massive maps like jesus
-
Should the originals be free? Yea
Will they? lol

I mean..that’s like saying is holding W and eventually dropping a pallet really a sign of skill?
theres a difference between looping a pallet and just bloodlusting it with no risk
-
Freddy is just annoying
Is placing snares around a loop and holding W until you catch up really a sign of skill?
-
I don't mind adrenaline because I'm going to be doing the objective regardless if I have it or not
I hate noed because it means the killer failed their objective AND counters Adrenaline for doing the above
-
No, what they need to do is revamp their map design philosophy.
Bigger Maps only hurt killers, Spirit, Billy, Nurse, and Freddy (the only killers with mobility) are the only killers who can -work- on those maps
-
Map design and weak killers a big reason why gens fly by
Take spirit or billy on a smaller map and compare them to someone like Doc on Red Forest Maps
killers who have high mobility are the only ones who can consistently patrol hard enough to slow down progress, yet Devs keep adding massive maps which only work for those few killers

Feel like alot of bug fixes get put off til they can do a big update instead of a quick hotfix or something.
Waiting months to make slight numerical adjustments to addons/perks is not something that players should wait months for. Changing the X% of a perk to make it more viable are the sort of things that can be done at a much more rapid pace than releasing it alongside a new chapter. It just comes off as lazy if anything.

I started playing back in december right after oni dropped, so I'm still but a wee bebe (surv & killer both 16) and i can see where there's a lot of rough edges, but tbh i dont think the game is anywhere approaching terminal. Worse games have survived far longer, and i think if the bigwigs would shift gears & focus on polishing & tightening what they've got vs pumping new content for a while, it'd leave the game in a much healthier spot to receive the aforementioned new content
people have been asking for an operation: health forever, quantity>quality has been a trend for DBD for awhile
-
You ever play Dark Souls? Looking cool>Optimal Gear
also it makes Behavior an unbelievable amount of money, hence why they are all around $10/set
-
imo this may seem like a bad idea but if ruin was built into the game itself, it would not only cut down on gen times immediately without effecting the upper ranks much while also freeing up what is usually a hard-lock of a perk
a simple band-aid fix that may have negatives to it, but given BHVR's track record for their content release schedule, it's prob the most likely to be done without taking over a year
(people also really just need to stop being afraid of ruin)

It should absolutely deactivate if someone else is hooked. If someone else has been hooked, it's impossible that you are being tunneled in that moment. Period.
its really is as simple as that, I don't see why this is such a controversial topic

Have the Devs say it's an exploit
imagine thinking using the collision to avoid being hit as "outplaying" the killer
no, you are just exploiting the game
-
Honestly, it feels like DBD is a man bleeding on the side of the road and Behavior drive by, accidentally runs them over, and reverses over them again without realizing it since they were on the phone
so yea its not great right now for alot of reasons
-
DS should deactivate if another person is hooked honestly
note i play red ranks on both sides and usually run DS (tho tbh rank doesnt mean much nowadays) so im not some salty killer main crybaby who cant hang with DS
-
if i get tunneled and camped all game or hit with noed or something else to that effect i am going to spam the hell out of crouch key
-
i bought the premium rift and got to 70
i dont use any of the rewards except for the vial at 70, the grind isnt worth it when you add in all the issus with this game currently
that is, unless you feel a charm that you have to grind like crazy for after spending $10 is worth
-
i mean its just a mask
i rarely see it tbh
-
hitting survivors imo is fine, can be used to avoid a hit if they are facecamping or whatever
being able to get behind them on the hook is 100% an exploit and no amount of "bUt iTS a tEcH" will change my mind
-
i just want WGLF to give some other benefit similar to how BBQ gives stacks and auras
but i agree all perks save for like 7 are beyond useless and usually a detriment if anything
-
while gen speed is arguably an issue (hence the over-reliance on Pop/Ruin) if the killer is chasing/tunneling/camping then obviously the gens are going to be done at lightning speed
