Loadouts like this nullify skill. Against a team with meta perks that can do all gens in 6 minutes there's very little a killer like Nemesis can do. No matter how good you are, the survivors have to be way, way, WAY worse than the killer to lose a match like this. Everything was stacked against OP, especially because he tried to play in a more fun way for everyone, so he's in his right to be upset about it.
People complain about survivors who "tryhard" because their basekit is already stronger than like, 20 out of 25 killers. So when you equip all the meta #########, especially if you're on a SWF, you're saying "hey I want to win without effort". Sure you can play like this if you want, but don't expect people to respect you. Just like people who play Nurse or Blight with 4 gen regression perks shouldn't.
This comes close to god's words, very well worded my friend!

I never said it was balanced. I said direct your ire at people who can do something about it.
Look at the title of your thread. You're directing your ire to the wrong people. You can't expect random players to NOT play to win.
Well I personally and my friends dont like to play to win. The reason why I got frustrated by this match is that I got denied by my bloodpoints by their play style.

@FrenziedRoach said:
All I see somebody who doesn't have the ability to beat what was put in front of them.
People are going to play to win, FULL STOP. You have 3 choices in front of you.
1) Get better and learn to beat them
2) Understand these things happen and find your own fun despite losses
3) accept this game isn't for you and move on.
Complaining about people playing to win and letting it bother you is a one-way ticket to disappointment. If you can't do any of the above, you have no business in multiplayer games as you just don't have the right mentality for games that pit players against each other.
If you feel something is OP or fundamentally flawed with the game, point your finger at the people who can fix it. Expecting players not to leverage advantages is a waste of time.
So you say dbd is balanced enough to beat at any time regardless of your load out and their loadout?
May god have mercy on your soul.

Looks like average MMR people playing with friends. At high MMR you will see this so often you stop caring. Look at your perks. You weren't even prepared to play against them. Do you think Ruin+Undying does something on high level vs Nemesis? They will rush through it since this killer has bad mobility and bad slugging potential. Coup the grace on Nemesis who has that kind of M2? What kind of joke is that? What was your strategy then? I think I need to accept you don't understand these core interactions along with strengthness and weakness of a killer and watch some competitive matches to understand why you've got no chance of winning against them with this kind of setup.
Just accept your loss and move on. Improving or not MMR will find a place for you.
Here's something for you to watch.

Why do Killers get upset when Survivors try their hardest to win, when they themselves frequently try their hardest to win as well? And it happens from Survivor side too, but I typically see Killer players complaining about "tryhard" Survivors the most on this forum, so this is what I'm addressing.
And just because you might not tunnel, camp or slug, doesn't mean you should expect the opposite side to just goof off and farm BP. Survivors typically try every game to escape and expect Killers to play the same, BP offerings or not. No reason to mouth off at players in endgame chat because they played the video game a certain way.
Also, is the SWF accusation just an assumption or the actual truth? Because I play solo with other solos and we've gotten results screens just like this against mediocre Killers.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2566313#Comment_2566313
I like how people rarely take into consideration the Killer's skill in games like this. Killer players can be bad at the video game, you know... and if you're bad, you're not going to get hooks or kills. Can't just expect easy wins with mediocre gameplay against half-decent Survivors.
tbf Nemesis is slighty over average in terms of Tier lists but by far not Meta or that can handle that type of SWF squads.

Coup de grace is a meta perk on Nemesis.
The increased lunge makes his fist build up anime-like momentum making survivors go boom on contact. True story.
3:10 = Nemesis + Coupe De Grace
Ye I am trying that out on Nemesis since he is simiular like Oni, a Killer that rarely M1 hits, this perk is actually quiete decent on him and alot of fun :D It catches often survivors off guard which is funny as #########.
And some survivors DC because they think you made had a laggy hit.

I'm not saying people aren't allowed to make these posts but surely at this point people know how things are in the game with it's current state atm.
I get you, I do. But, this is why I play solely for meme purposes and overall fun instead of focusing on points or a 'win' on either side. I understand not everyone wants to play like that, but you'd make life a lot easier for yourself if you did tbh.
I used to take this game sooooooo serious on either side but now if I get swfs like this or camped and tunnelled etc... I just get on with it.
I agree, I do not really take that game serious anymore since a few weeks but this game just got me on my nerves cuz I simply cannot understand ppl like that. Ofc at some point everyone will run into a team like that and you just have to accept it but it still just sucks, beeing at the position where you just have to watch it and accept it. Dbd is already 5 years out, its hard to believe that the devs still dont do anything about that.

All I'm seeing is a salty player who sends salt.in chat. I would understand if you were playing plague or legion but nemesis is really strong so idk. You have ruin Undying with zombies so I don't think the game went as fast as you say
it was sanctum of wrath, my totems got destroyed in the first min, I could protect the first gen and made it regress around half of it but they endend up just aboneding it anyway. And tbf I agree that I am using a pretty strong anti gen set up, but I am also using coupe de grace to try that perk out. This setup I am playing is not as strong as a full swf team with full items. There is no way you can say this is a "even" match up.

Scratch marks have gotten worse gradually over the years, starting before there was even a console version.
Did you know they used to appear on grass? One day DBD had an engine update and poof, they wouldn't show on grass anymore. No mention in the patch notes, no notice at all by the devs, just a huge nerf to one of the core aspects of tracking survivors. A lot of people didn't notice either, since sound actually worked at that point in DBD and was a reliable source of tracking instead of randomly not playing noise sometimes (footsteps, sounds of pain with no iron will, silent slug bug, survivors not making falling noises, etc)
Lately, scratch marks sometimes don't appear (not through using perks), sometimes they scatter everywhere *except* where the survivor ran. It's pretty atrocious, honestly.
I've learned to mostly ignore them at this point for the better tracking option; All you gotta do is follow the blood, CJ.
ye I know about the grass thing aswell, I was pissed. But you kinda get used to it, but you cant really get used to it when they dont even appear xD

Even on those killers it was never meta in any point in time. If Ruin, Pop, Tinkerer, Corrupt, etc were deleted today it still wouldn't be meta because experienced players don't need 15 degrees of FOV.
I never talked about meta lol and also its maybe for you cuz you are just not simply playing with it enough. Its easy to say you dont need something if you never really tried it.

I would consider myself as a tryhard killer main but I stopped playing this game for long periodes of time. I switched over to other games and play dbd maybe 2-4 hours in a week, just a few games on a day or two.
Not mainly because of balancing issues but purely of lack of interest. Since this game has been the same for 5 years I just lost interest to "really" play it more. Now it is one of many smaller games I have in the library of steam and play it occasionally.

Not even when the game had like 3 DLCs and the only slowdown perks were Overcharge and Thanatophobia was Shadowborn meta.
On most Killers you are right, as mention only fast mobile Killers really benefit well from a higher FOV. On other Killers its just very minor and provide you mostly just a better "view" if you like it.

That's not an exploit. People need to stop calling anything smart survivors do to counter a killer's power an exploit.
However I agree with you that this is smart to do from the survivor perspective which I have nothing to say about that. But it is still way too efficiant without any counteplay to it from the Killers perspective, this comes close to where survivors where able to sabo the Trappers bear traps.
You can also use the same argument there "well its just smart from the survivor". Yes it is smart, still doesnt justify the action.
-
@Objectively_speaking said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2565038#Comment_2565038
Losing a 99 because you did not capitalize on it and the survivor did something smart is your fault. Observe your surroundings and plan accordingly also adjust based on the situation why not drop the survivor and finish downing <now you have one slugged one hooked>.
You do realize that you let them wiggle off if you try to drop them when they are nearly at the end of struggle?
Also seems like you are rather new to dbd, and especially to Ghostface. Storing up your 99 stalk is a common and smart strategy for Myers and Ghostface to prepare your next insta down in a better and more appealing moment.
You dont simply pop your stalk on 100% if you see the survivor far away, you will most likely not even be able to hit them if you pop your stalk too early, you want to pop it off when you are close up or if they are in a bad position where no pallets or windows are.

Look up a dictionary if you dont know what that word means. Its literally the word that describes what I am talking about.

True it is not fair but tbh, just dont do it then lol, if you are bothered by it then simply leave it.
I have over 6k hours and almost 95% of the achievments without even looking them up, I dont care at all about achievments so therefore I dont have any adepts (except megs when I started playing I accidently did it cuz I had no other perks).
Dont know why so many ppl stress themselves out by doing a achievment that provides you nothing but a ######### PNG.
-
I think they are gonna do something like they did with Clown. A addon pass and also some changes or adjustments to his base power.
I hope they are gonna do something about the hit where you remove the stalk progress on the survivors cuz this can be easily exploited by bodyblocking while you carry someone on a hook, therefore you just reset your progress which is huge and takes away alot of pressure to the survivors. Atleast make it that they lose 50% of the stalk progress or something else.

I don't think that should be locked behind a perk though. Your skill shouldn't be restricted by a perk if you play better with higher FoV.
I kinda agree but also not.
Since we have alot of different Killers with different gameplay the FOV has a different impact on each of them. A higher FOV is stronger on mentioned mobile Killers but not as strong as on regular Killers like a Trapper.
-
You cant compare these perks, they literally do 2 different things.

Indeed, I would run Shadowborn if gen-regression perks weren't a requirement in high-level play. But I seriously doubt a bit of extra FoV will make high-speed Killers like Blight and Nurse just a nightmare, nor will being able to look around corners 0.4 seconds faster be game-breakingly strong.
Well it is proven even on competetive games like CSGO etc.
Also I do realize that I have also a way easier time in terms of reaction time if I use it on Oni and Blight.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Well i mean they looked at them and decided they were fine i guess.
tbf in terms of mobility the ring is strong but there is a very easy counterplay against it..
Just dont run after a hit to the next tile or straight away, simply stick to the loop or tile you are at and you completly negate the addon. Not that hard.
-
You see it the wrong way. The reason why shadow born isnt that good as a Perk is BECAUSE the competition is too strong. Perks like Tinkerer, Ruin, Undying, Pop, BBQ etc are way too strong to even slightly compare them to a bigger FOV.
However a FOV its self is very strong indeed, ppl dont really understand it but FOV doesnt simply widen your camera edges. It also puts the middle of the screen, the "cross hair" further away which is really benefinatial in terms of seeing around corners. I dont remember exactly the video title but there was a guy who made comparisons on simiulations and he has proven that you can see around corners faster with a higher FOV.
Now imagine Killers that can move very quick and down survivors also fast for example Oni, Blight, Spirit and Nurse. A higher FOV gives these Killers the advantage to react quicker if a survivor is on the edge of the screen to give these Killers more "time" to react to it and turn their camera in the last moment.
These would buff all the meta killers and I doubt that ppl want that.
*Edit in Minecraft it is very easy to see what I mean with putting the middle of the screen further away. You can see the same on the hands or weapon of the Killer, they are not more visable only but also they appear way further away then they are without shadowborn.

True. It is easy to overwhelm newcomers with too much info at once. Give info in doses for better results
Yup
Back then when I was looking for beginners guide to send it to a friend, I just found mediocre guides that kept trying to explain too complicated stuff like how tiles spawn, perk loadouts etc etc. This is not how you show a new person a game, you have to show them the basics first how to even play the game. In that case this guide is very well made and the explanations are very short and efficient.

The title even says that it is a beginners guide, idk what you expect? Try to explain some stranger on the street what the current meta is of perks and what they do.

Will probably be metal themed since the menu music is also like that.

Fact is killers are leaving the sinking ship and you cannot deny it.
Killer queues are instant at high MMR while survivor queues are really long (5 to 10 minutes).
And if you play survivor at high MMR (i don't know if you play survivor and if you are good at it), you will see that you will face bad killers most of the time, it means that all good killers have stopped to play.
On Twitch, many streamers (not only main stream streamers but also small ones) have stopped to play killer aswell.
Playing killer is a joke now, you either have babies surv or strong, unbeatable teams, neither is fun. And this with the goal to artificially make the game looks balanced. BHVR released the kill rate stats in a hurry to show how balanced the game is now, what a joke. Every trials is unbalanced but the global results, the average is "balanced".
I absolutely agree with you.
I play Killer since the beta and it is really getting tiresome. Some days are fine but around 50% of the games are sweaty boring games where all survivors only run meta ######### with med kits and other op #########. More and more Killer mains are leaving which is pretty sad, I mean when was the last time you have seen a really good Billy or Nurse? Most Nurses are running 4 anti gen perks and just very average skill but still get carried by their perks and bad random team mates are making the experience even more unpleasent.
I stopped playing solo q completely and only play with friends but not often though, I overall play Dbd WAY less then I was supposed to be which is a mix of everything abit. Actual good players that are getting more rare to encounter, bad and boring design choices and no major changes to the game in years.
I rather play Hearthstone Mercenaries right now :)

Thing is, im not over exaggerating, this is all in my opinion which I derived from playing both killer and survivor to rank 1 pre mmr and from the factual evidence that BHVR provided us. Of course I am unhappy, and if "no one cares" why are you putting so much effort into being an ass for 0 reason? Hypocritical and a complete toxic detriment to society to strangers online with 0 facts or reason to back up your claims, go harass someone else and keep being a sheeple, have a good day.
You do realize that on the general section you just see the titles? Based on your title I thought you would talk with a mature neutral mind set and wanted to discuss, what I see here is someone who claims to be a "veteran" and lacks the knowledge and mind set to understand changes for both sides, and therefore you just complain about things that seem to you unjustified which is pretty sad to see sry to say that.
Also simply calling me a survivor main is not really an insult, I am actually a Killer main but idk why you try to put the term survivor main as an insult, you should really grow up dude xD

Can't down them while in Frenzy. You see heartbeats of those you haven't hit while in Frenzy, including those hiding in lockers, so are able to injure more survivors. More survivors you hit the less survivors on gens because at the very least they'll need to mend before they can heal - which is why Thanatophobia is common perk you see on Legion, pushes survivors to heal instead of playing injured.
tbf 20% of thana is not really a big deal, most survivors still just power through the gens.

Gen kick regression is not ok. It's only 1/4 the speed of repairs. It takes no time at all to undue the regression from a kick. It should be 50% at the very least.
The reason why Ruin is so unpopular is cuz ppl dont like to see their progress lost, no one likes to sit and hold M1, increasing the damage would just support boring gameplay for the survivors, there are better ways to make gen kicking better.

Gotcha, so if the Killer is guaranteed to get this bloodrite, why exactly should Survivors attempt to prevent the Killer from getting it, instead of trying to pump out gens as fast as possible at the start, while they still have more work output available to them? If the Killer goes for it, The Killer takes some time out of their way to go to the shrine, which Survivors can use to work on gens. If the Killer doesn't go for it, the Survivors have no incentive to even go for the Shrines anyway.
(This is good point to start at, btw. this is similar same "issue" that Totems have, at least in terms of if Survivors want to do the "secondary" objective)
yes if the Killer doesnt go for the shrine then we have a classic dbd match just like now. If the killer starts doing it and the survivors ignore the shrines, he could get the blood rite in around 1-2min which should be at the last 2 gens atleast even if the survivors try to genrush as fast as possible. Also keep in mind that the chances of 2 shrines around the map has a high chance to be near 1 or 2 gens, so in that way you secure that area in a way.
Also the survivors should never focus their everything for the blood, I designed this so the survivors can do it meanwhile if they dont have nothing to do really, like they just finished a unhook or a gen and want to leave the area, they can take 1 blood drip and bring it to the shrine meanwhile they are going around to map to somewhere else.
They can ofc focus on the shrines but it will not do much which is the point of it. However if the killer decides to focus on it then he will get greatly rewarded. The system is made to be more Killer related and the survivor can just slow it down not more.

Oh, of course, I can’t disagree there. I just hate that that one situation is what allowed numerous Survivors to open gates uninterrupted despite being pelted with knives the whole way through. I digress though.
ye true dat, but see it that way, every other killer suffers from that too, if you see from the afar opening the game, there is nothing you can do to stop him, I know that feeling xD
