At least it is some form of transparency, it's better late than never. Still pretty bad to be late despite the community backlash and disappointment, but they could have done a lot worse.
Well if it became online news, like the colourblind saga did then they would act.
But it seems they need to be dragged by a public shaming before they act.

Well you need something to do while looking for match
And if you want to spend points on a different killer you can't even do that.

Not really because if they do that enough you will wiggle off the shoulder anyways
And if you down them again and slug, you're essentially keeping them hostage.
-
If a swf is crying after a game you've done well.
-
Yeah that's the odd thing about dbd. If you do awesome you're punished.
Killers get the same if they 4k before a gen is done, you get little points and thus no pips, even though you stomped.
Want to rank up? farm points, but just don't do it in a way that that is seemingly working with the killer, because that's bad.

I don’t get why they have to get rid of all locker saves. Why not remove the double lockers situation? Because in the case where there is only one locker the killer can definitely do something.
For the record I personally never used this but I think that if you have a legit angle it shouldn’t matter whether they were pulled out of a locker or were picked up. Now it’s just the reserve and survivors have guaranteed immunity. So weird how they come up with these design choices.
Having more lockers is good.
it's good for reload killers, it's great for survs to have more options to hide.
What it is, is just more swf b.s forcing the devs to fix crap that gets exploited, like this, like hooks in rpd, and soon hooks in school basement. Im sure they would rather use time and bandwith to bring us new stuff.
-
How do you know that they're not bots already?
Skynet is here.
-
Normally after midnight or sometimes during the day in Oceania.
But it's a good thing, it means people are wanting to play killer.
Edit: it's also free to play, so what would you rather do as a newbie? repair a gen or stand on your own traps or run around with a chainsaw hitting bushes?
-
Even worse when you're killer, can't change killers when in queue so can't spend bp on other killers.
They need to make it so you can either do the whole web in a click or a branch of the web at a time.
Very tedious.
-
If survivors are crying after a game, you've done your job well.

Just accept the fact that most killers are sweaty try hards who treat every game like its game 7 of the DBD World Championship and is going to use every dirty trick in the book to get their coveted 4k.
Dirty tricks intensifies.

Yeah. I sort of agree.
It's a good change, I just think there were better changes to be made first.
Im sure the dev's would rather be working on other stuff as well, but when people exploit bugs just because "playin wit ma friendz" they have to step in.
Edit: Mori's got nerfed and it took them a year to fix keys as well, sometimes killer's get the rough end as well.
-
There is many reasons why killers camp.
Some are gameplay orientated, some are a skill issue.
I'll give you a few, if you've got no one hooked and 2/3 gens are done, camping is a way of fishing for survs.
If the gates are powered why leave a hook (potential kill) for the risk of getting another one.
Many survs are over altruistic so camping is generally a net gain. If the survivor mindset changed so that they stopped trying to save everyone then the killer mindset of not camping might as well. The best way to punish camping is to not reward it by adding to the body count.
And it's a tactic newbies do thats generally rewarded as mentioned above, and some people do it because they can, regardless of the killer.
-
it's pretty crap when the only option is to slug one and take the loss.
-
I'd prefer it, bright maps just make it hard if you've got colourblindness.
Field of orange, with pink people on hooks and green/yellow gens makes it crap. I'd rather gens were blue or something and survs dark red.

I mean does the Gas Station have multiple exits? The only area you can get trapped in is the garage with the Truck but a generator spawns there, and completing the generator opens the garage door so technically you can escape from it. Or is there something I am missing here?
In the backroom where the gen is, if its there, its one way in and out if the gens not done or the doors not broke.
So yeah he's probably trapped
-
Blame the swfs that exploited it on RPD.
You're not allowed nice things because of it.

No i just googled it. Because i knows its contentious issue.
"huntress hit box explained" first hit.

I wasn’t complaining. Just saying that many people/survivor DO complain about hatchets and I wouldn’t use that as an argument here as those won’t agree with you anyways.
I was just comparing absurdities. People who like to do this type of exploitive behaviour are the reasons why survs can't have nice things.
-
How are you held hostage?

@Mooks said:

I… uhm. I don’t think hatchets should be brought up here with how often they get complained about because of hitboxes and/or lag
But hit boxes go both ways, ones that should hit don't because a bush is suddenly a giant square, or that car bonnet i can't actually put my arm over and throw, or that one that did land but lag worked for you. Or pre "fix" dead hard when the hatchet would hit you in the back but dead hard saved you.
So don't complain about hatchet's sometimes you eat sometimes you're eaten.
The image is from this https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/306411/huntress-hitbox

"Hunting"
Lol... You mean "fishing?" (Putting bait on a hook and waiting... Chasing that one that got away... Camping & Tunneling)
No.
Fishing is done at the end when i've got one on the hook the gates are open or powered so i wait so i wait for the inevitable altruism plays. Or if say 3 gens are done and i haven't got a hook, then one is forced to, to create pressure.
-
It was a stupid bug and needed to be fixed.
If i was able to throw a hatchet through a locker would that be fine?
-
Same reason why Anna's tome used to say she killed Soviet soldiers in ww1 and not Russian.
-
For me her name is "dead pink hair girl"
-
I don't play survivor much but i am trying, so there's no need to call me a bot or a zombie, i may get stuck on a stick or a bush but im genuinely neither of those things.

I think this is a great idea! It promotes some altruism, and rewards better team players by more likely being teamed with similar-minded players who want to work together.
It also may bring back those endgame exciting moments when trying to save that hooked survivor during EGC.
This is a good addition to the game. Nice work BHVR!
Altruism gets more survivors killed than just a killer "hunting".
Many many games i've gone from a 1k to a 3 or 4k because of altruism. You cannot save everyone.
-
I'd love to be able to do it on a different killer well in queue. But no i have to go through 100 bloodwebs just to unlock a perk on a killer i play.
Because of the sale i've bought 2 killers and had to p2 both just because i wanted the perks. it's such a slog to spend that much bp.

@Alcuin said:
To pull this off you have to be part of a skillful and highly-coordinated SWF with the intent to trull/bully. That's the not experience of the vast majority of Survivors and only a small fraction of Killers face such a team and only a small fraction of the time. Eruption should have been nerfed instead. That affects the majority of the Survivor playerbase, which are Solo Survivors.
Well then blame the swfs for ruining it for solos.
If idiots didn't try to exploit every single loophole, then they wouldn't need to waste time to fix them.
This is great example, same with Boilover in rpd.
Just swf behaviour all because "i want fun wit ma friendz"
-
Can vary to much.
Some maps and some killers can either be op or terribad.
-
You don't have to.
But it's fun to.
Think of it as payback for all the standing around at the exit gate or "repeated crouching"
-
Can't use everyday words as it's censored, but implying you're dropping a part of your anatomy on someone's face is fine.
That better?
-
Don't get caught, can't get camped.
Camping fixed.
-
There's a few corridors in RPD where the wall is basically a few deck chairs and a box, its only waist height. But its a very small section.
You've really got nothing to complain about.
-
Way better than that Christmas snowman free health for survs. If that comes back im bringing out the chainsaw.
-
It's free stuff you normally wouldn't get.
So if it means you have to earn it so be it.
If you've paid for the pass because you really want another set of pink hair then go for it, but you'll still have to earn it. Or stay in the shop.

No, Solo queue exists for Killers to vent their frustration, you are supposed to suffer for their enjoyement, imagine the sheer amount of threads here if Solo was bearable in the slightest.
Well Killers only have solo queue available to them. So not sure what you expect us to play instead? You can at least choose to play with friends. I don't have that option, nor care for it. I don't need friends only victims.
-
Never intentionally d/c'd when i know im done im just go stand in a corner.

Why are you conflating my argument? I literally already stated:
the core problem with solo queue is having to leave a significant portion of your agency in the hands of completely unknown players, which that type of information does nothing to improve. You're just trying to find things to argue with. I honestly have no idea what you're trying to convey with that kyf comment. If KYF gave BP people would just use it to farm nonstop instead of actually putting up with most of the unbalanced garbage in the game as much as they do, and the devs are well aware of how bad an idea it is to split their queues even regarding just opting in regarding SWF at all.
Every swf defender i see on here is just a casual who wants to play with their friends.
KYF allows you to do that, its literally in the title. Queues would be fine, solo's would have better games so they'll play more, Killers wont run into sweat team 6 or meme teams abusing perks.

The point of the game is to hook them. Grated I didn't know i could mori them. Still no excuse for their behaviour though
It's just normal survivor time wasting, they'll complain about you wasting their time by not hooking in them iafter they either crawled to a corner or sat under a pallet.
Then in the next game they'll sit in the exit gate wasting your time. Just treat all survivors as the same, Carrion, No respect, no mercy just kill them, fast or slow, just kill them.
-
Boon is for sale in shrine at the moment.
And boil over just gets you slugged. Windows is a perk that is semi useful until you learn maps.
Killers have more interesting powers which is why i play them.

You're focusing on the worst case and applying it to all cases, instead of addressing just the worst case. For every group that was abusing boil over or healing faster than the killer could swing in the boon PTB, there are streamers who are doing a collab with their friends and reading chat while on gens. You have to "draw the line" by tackling what actual advantages SWF provides over solos in how they can and are abused, the oversights that such a system allows to be exploited. As was posited in the previous posts, that isn't just the ability to communicate in general.
Solo's could use the free discord and that would fix the communication issue, will solo play suddenly become better? Nope.
Again streamers and swfs could do all that on KYF, give bp for it and bang same game, you get to play with your friends, and you don't impact solo queue.
-
The answer is killer.
Survs are just reskinned versions of each other. It's no different repairing a generator with a bearded old man or a pink haired girl, also playing with different killers makes you a better survivor, and the original survs all have decent enough perks.

Because there is a difference between having information visually accessible on demand vs having to keep calling out back and forth, let alone the discordance that gets caused by multiple people trying to convey multiple pieces of information at the same time. Did that honestly need explaining?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3244777#Comment_3244777
Which becomes a nerf to casual SWFs, who are the ones who don't need any nerfs and are usually just friends messing around as opposed to sweat team 6. They're the closest to legimitate usage of SWF in the game, and punishing them unfairly is a bad move. You need to focus on the potential of swfs in addressing them, not their average use. There are plenty of solo players who outperform casual SWFs by a landslide, while simultaneously taking advantage of far more oversights in the game's design.
Where do you draw the line, we cant have any sense of balance by bringing in more variables. Have a hardcore swf opt in so you get a handicap but more rewards?
Oh were a casual swf in it for the memes but we still want to have the advantage but no penalty. You can't just have your cake all the time.
At the end of the day you know who suffers the most from swfs? Solo's, they can't have a nice boil over, because some swf wants to sit upstairs in rpd using the perk to the extreme, so now solo players who use it as intended get penalised.
