MandyTalk confirmed that survivors can indeed relight and move boon totems as many times as they wish, so long as there's a dull totem to bless.
Well killers can't remove totems, so in theory its only survivors who can stop you from relighting.
Sounds like a good way to troll.

Because of this change, I've been able to get so many killer adepts much more easily. Sure the teams I'm facing aren't necessarily easier, but it requires much less to double pip at Ash ranks in such a way that I can afford not running the best perks and it's made adepting a nice and breezy process.
Anyone else had this fortune?
When i go up a colour grade i use that for challenges. i.e once you get Gold 4 you cant go back to silver so it lets me save my progress really.
Just have to find the good points in it.
-
So you can choose where to place your boon and killers have no way of tracking it, you can re use it, and you can have mulitple boons.
Yeah lots of risk for survs there.

Oh I 100% live by this. I will throw games to tunnel key users, and if I have a mori of any kind you bet I'll be sure to use that on him. I also put on franklins when I see multiple more than two items and they both are flashlights.
Go lightborne instead, you'll get better value on 2 torches, they will just pick the items back up, where as lightborne negates it, and when try to blind you you can just swing at them instead.
-
Easiest way to counter toxicity is to do it yourself.
No mercy, no turning the other cheek.
You can tbag, i can slug, you can click click, i can tunnel, you can key i can mori, you can swf i can camp.
-
Why don't killers destroy the totem? Seems stupid in gameplay and in lore that a killer would stuff around cleansing instead of stomping the bones into dust.
-
When i first started playing, i seen Slinger on twitch and thought that looked fun. I played for a bit thought he was ok, a good all rounder but didnt excel at anything.
Then i started with Anna. Her ranged is so much better, it has no limit.
If they up slingers terror radius then give him a ranged shot with no chain to compensate so he can play semi long ranged like Anna can.
-
"Killers acting out in this manner have perhaps found a coping mechanism and quite possibly an outlet, to prevent hurting people in real life."
Why would you put that in?
It's very subjective and opinionated and detracts from your argument. Some people think swfs, b/m anfd stomping newbies are fun. Why if a killer finds camping fun does it mean they are going to shoot up a school or strangle someones cat. But when a Surv is having fun it's harmless.
-
Without having a visable mmr or rating its to hard to say.
Matches can vary so much depending on variables, time of day, swfs v solo. Killer type, Map type.

How would he be unfun? People should be determined to get better at killers they enjoy, not everything should be easy. Its what made slinger so annoying is how you cant really counter him shooting at you through windows and pallets. Now you have to use strategy to play him well. The terror radius thing was a bit much but thats just a nitpick
But when you play a new survivor you dont have to learn anything? Bar perks, which everyone has to go through anyway.

How about next time you then actually word your post to make it look like you actually want a discussion? I love how you constantly seem to try and crap on BHVR and when people then expose that, you play the victim card.
"Boon totems:survivors need another objective we hear you killers But survivors are our business model🤑so here is something for killers to worry about😇"
This obviously only makes it look like you are trying to push this idea that the devs only care for survivors. This has nothing to do with an actual discussion.
"This obviously only makes it look like you are trying to push this idea that the devs only care for survivors."
Well it's hard not to refute it really, New cosmetics, all Surv.
Mori nerf, - instant so you cant use your stockpile. Key nerf - 1 year later and 5 weeks notice.
Hexes random spots. Destroyed upon cleansing. Boon - where ever you like and you can reapply.
Starting to see a trend here?
I'd love to actually know the numbers on Surv mains Vs Killer mains.

Here is my opinion on this, A boon perk needs to be strong enough to be useful to a survivor, but weak enough where a killer shouldn't matter if its up or not.
For example: While in 8 meters of this boon healing actions are increased by 10/15/20% (or whatever).
Can that be strong yes, but it would require the survivors running to that section of that map for that benefit. To be fair thats a bad example, but its also an example of something that wouldn't really hurt the killer to much if they didnt stomp out the boon. However if all 4 survivors were running it, it would become a lot stronger given that their could be up to four locations to recieve this benefit.
And if a killer cleanses it, they can re- boon it. That really makes little sense, can just see it now, Nemesis leaning down saying a few garbled words to remove a boon, rather than just stomping it into dust.

@Icaurs said:
That is my point. I don't have an issue with keys be nerfed, I in fact support it. However, I genuinely see no value in keys anymore, especially with chests. This needed to be considered when implementing the nerf and simply was not.
So they are the same as Mori then? And having a fun little animation that normally takes longer to go through than hooking someone isnt great viewing.

Seems silly in both lore and mechanics that this item of evil power can be turned into a picture of jesus with a few words.

It's obnoxious and repetitive.

The killer can remove the blessing, but the totem would return to a dull totem then.
Bear in mind that blessing a totem is the same length of time, or possibly longer, than cleansing a totem - so if a survivor has had time to Bless that Hex totem, if they didn't bless it, they would have cleansed it anyway.
Shouldn't they have to cleanse it before they can bless it?
-
@TAG said:
Yeah, no. Keys have lost nearly all their worth. But hey, at least I don't gotta feel bad bringint them in anymore.
Like Mori's have? Only you got another year of use out of yours.
-
@Icaurs said:
I understand that keys are really strong and a nerf is needed. I thought however they would make it so only one person could use it or maybe allow you to instantly open an exit gate once they are powered. So now the hatch will not spawn unless you are the last survivor. So what is the point.
First everybody must either be dead or left.
Second the exit gate has to be either powered by killer closing hatch or by everybody leaving. giving you three minutes maximum to find it
Third to get any real value the killer must find the hatch first because the hatch will still spawn open.
So to use a key your whole team must die, then the killer has to find the hatch and then close it. you then have to choose to search the map for hatch with 3 minutes, instead of just opening a door, all so you can escape one time. Unless you want to tell me once the door is open, wait for everybody to leave which could take anywhere between 30 seconds and 3 minutes depending on your teammates, then the killer finds it, closes it, and then you still find it with the small time left. I doubt that will ever happen.
I agree keys needed a nerf, but they nerfed the item to the point that it has basically no value. Unless is am misunderstanding something about this change.
so I ask again, what is the point keys now?
"so I ask again, what is the point keys now?"
The same as Mori's.
Nothing really. Surv's wanted a "unfun" addon nerfed, Killers got the same.
-
@ukenicky said:
what this means is if you happened to let go of your power before it reached the minimum required to actually puke, it will instead force you to charge up to THAT minimum threshold required to puke. That way you aren't rendered useless and slowed to an absolute crawl while swallowing your puke and enduring the cool-down.
It really isn't comparable to deathslinger
But it is to a Huntress.
-
Keys out? Mori's out. That's my rule. If i see a key ill do my best to make sure the person that brings it wont benefit from it.
It's taken them to long to fix it. So i fix it myself.

It goes to a dull totem.
Why not destroy it? Or do you want survs to get more bp for cleansing a dull?
How will this affect killers with slow movement speed?
It might be fine for Nurse's and Billy's but for ranged with slower movement, this is just going to make more people switch to faster killers.
-
Could always give his gun more range, Huntress can cross map snipe, Why can't a man with a gun?

PH only got a nerf on the CD for cancelling his power and on top of that PH also got a buff on his CD for his range attack.
The thing is, I don't think many Slinger players would actually care if there was a longer CD on cancelling ADS. It's the fact that both his quick scoping and his TR got nerfed and he received nothing to help make up for his now significantly weaker chase.
He gets the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing he helped some poor survivor's get more bp.
-
@solidhex said:
Being "unfun" is a valid reason to get nerfed, as the main goal is to have fun in a game. The counterplay to his aim spams was non-existent and they already nerfed PH because of this, there is a reason everyone hates playing against Deathslinger. Let's see how he performs and when they killed him with the nerfs he can still get 115% speed or whatever. I know he's a chase killer and that's alright but there were just too many situations were he could oppress you without counterplay, making the guessing games very unbalanced
Killers find swfs unfun, Killers find hatches unfun.
Ive got about 500 hours now in the game so im still a newbie.
But basically how i see stuff getting done around here, If it something that is detrimental to survivors it's either disabled/hotfixed/nerfed,
Refering to totems. Mori's key.
A totem last week on dead dog was uncleanseable, so the map was disabled. Yet some pallets on god pallet game, were not breakable from one side, yet that map wasn't disabled.
Mori are now useless unless you have a daily. Key's were supposed to have been "fixed" 12 months ago, yet here we are, they can fix keys but yet things that are not on the radar of 99% of the player base get fixed.

so punish people for playing with their friends imagine if you joined an online game like cod and you get less bullets because you are linked with people you play everyday with and have good communication.
Well in other games solo queue vs grp queues are separate. Teams vs teams solo vs solo.
League has ranked in which no more than a duo can up.
W.o.W has 10 v 10.
And i notice how you think you're being punished, but yet you dont give 2 cents for all the killers who get a crap experience so you can play with your friends.
self entitled much?

What...? So, if 4 stack swf, 119 speed who is already OP + Noed +4%= 123% and one hit down vs survivors 100% speed because they play with friends.
If 3 man swf, the solo player gets huge punishment for no reason.
I think you're out of your mind.
Well do the gen regression then. Or they take longer to repair.

Technically true lol honestly would prefer to face this every once in a while. I like variety in my games.
Funny thing is if this was a post titled "Do survivors find 4 Head-ons, map offering and not doing gens playstyle fun for 30 minutes?" Your reply would also work for it lol just get rid of the slowdown part.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2522700#Comment_2522700
Killer can just push them out. It's annoying yes but it doesn't prolong a game for an absurd amount of time.
Also survivors can get protection hits for WGLF or challenges by waiting at the door to be hit out. Your argument doesn't work for this thread.
"Killer can just push them out. It's annoying yes but it doesn't prolong a game for an absurd amount of time."
Depends on how often it happens eh?
"Also survivors can get protection hits for WGLF or challenges by waiting at the door to be hit out."
So the only way i can get you to end the game faster is to reward you for prolonging the game?
Yeah cool.

My solution wouldn't help save that much time, but I believe we need a surrender option at 10 minutes. That way, you can still keep your bloodpoints and leave without an escalating penalty.
That would be ideal for the higher rated players who run into cheaters more frequently, at least. It would also solve the hatch stand off problem too.
It could work, but possible hostage for survivors. i.e one not surrendering. Or swfs purposefully surrendering to troll solo queue.
How would it work for killers who could abuse it?

Killer probably either doesn't care and always plays like this, or thinks: "This sucks, let's just get this over with ASAP."

"It has nothing to do with this I am just asking if it is fun for people." Im just asking the same.
"And I don't like bm'ing myself." It's not always that, sometimes survs are just flogs.
"Also I play both sides. Calm down?" I wasn't angry, just asking a question that's the same for Killer mains. Albeit semi rhetorical.

I'd argue Spirit is as unfun to play against as flashlights are to face. Especially when you're up against a flashlight squad. At that point, you either put on a perk or look at a wall each time you pick up but only after you circle the area looking for the croucher ready to save each time. Such exciting gameplay!😂🤣
You can still flashlight blind from the sides even if your face is against a wall.

Flashlights, eh. They're annoying, I wouldn't go as far as to say they were UNfun.
Run into 2 in a swf when you don't have Lightborne.

Give killers a movement speed buff based upon the amount in the swf. Duo 2% trio 3% 4 man 4%.
Or make gens regress more or faster, the game can tell when a group enters a lobby.
Solo queue survs or Killers versing solo needs no changes.

I will never agree that camping and tunnelling are legitimate strategies to win, but ultimately everyone is free to play however they wish and I'm no one to tell you what's right and what's wrong.
I just hope they eventually get teams that demolish them so they get a taste of what it feels like to ruin the gameplay of other players.
"I will never agree that camping and tunnelling are legitimate strategies to win,"
It can help put pressure back on survivors, which means they are reacting to you, rather than you reacting to them, furthermore, half the time your perceived tunneling, is because the killer lost the person who was unhooking, and you didnt have borrowed time.
"I just hope they eventually get teams that demolish them so they get a taste of what it feels like to ruin the gameplay of other players."
That is entirely subjective to the individual. You don't think killer's feel that about survivor actions? I'll give you a few.
1 Totem rng, 2. Hit's that should have been grabs, 3. Key's/Hatches. 4. t-bag, click spammers 5. swf bully squads. 6. Haddonfield.

Yes the survivor is being punished because of killers lack of skills does survivor gets rewarded when they do mistake in looping? No they go down and die...
I have played this game for 3 years both roles and I'm yet to see good killer camping outside endgame (I don't count endgame camping because that's only thing they can do at end and it's justified)
You can't tell me good killer will willingly let gens fly like crazy and chase one person whole match that's called being bad player
So if they camp they're bad, and if they spend gens getting looped they're bad.

Don't worry, people can drop chase with me on the swamp map by just crouching in the tall grass. My eyes are THAT bad. Luckily most survivors assume I can see and don't try it, but when they (usually Claudette) find out my dark secret... I have no chance.
it's Coldwind for me, the corn screws me as a Huntress main, im lucky to see the red gen outlines, or the tracking marks, as they blend into the corn on the ground.

I find the game is better if you only play a few games a day/week, i normally play 2 or 3 a day then go back to solo games.
Huntress main, games have been fine.

I don't know if i say anything is "bullying" in my opinion, if some survs make a mess of me i just say its them trying to win.
Just like when i curbstomp, No quarter given, none asked for. It's very very rarely i let anyone hatch.

Reminder, grades and their colors have nothing to do with matchmaking anymore.
Yes you are correct. But with grades being the benchmark for getting bp at the end of the month. it doesnt matter if you get to red 5 then lose 20 games in a row. You still have your bp saved.
You may get smashed for lots of games, but your bp is saved at "x" colour level. So i save my harder challenges for when i go up a grade.
Just got to gold 5 so do my old school skills challenge. If i lose a match it doesn't affect my grade.
-
I just done it.
try that build.
-
Had a few when going for someone unhooking. I down the unhooker but they hooked surv still gets off the hook.
-
Remember once you go up into a higher colour you can't go down.
So get to that iri 5 then just play your new killer, and most times when using a new character you need a million banked to spent to get some perks.
