Heard of exclusives before. Things like red dead redemption 2 and days gone for ps4 only.
Yeah that lasted 6 months.
-
Play Legion, all hoodies.
-
just got my rank 1 Killer first time so happy, but looking at the steam achievement.
4.1% of killers have rank 1.
6.3% for survivors.
Yeah says plenty.
-
When i do play survivor, i unlock the gate and leave instead of being a flog and standing there.
-
Rank 1 is about time nothing more.
Survivors can be mediocre and still get to rank 1. There's plenty of horribads who get to rank 1 that can't loop or dodge.

The problem arises when you play an M1 who has very little counter to DH for distance. Sure Pyramid head, Huntress and so on can shut down a DH for distance before the chase gets elongated for another 30 seconds or so but whats Ghostface supposed to do about it?
Yes and no, I find alot of them are using D.H when in a narrow spot to negate the hatchet, so they're already at ranged and not using it for a distance maker.
And ranged killers are slower, So our ranged power is negated from the invincibility of D.H and were slower to catch up.
-
I've seen it work both ways tbh.
Ive seen Hatchet's hit people behind walls, ive been pallet stunned after i landed a hit, i've landed hits when i should have been stunned.
-
@SomberNokk said:
I think exhaustions are fine, they are the survivor versions slowdowns. Though I think the DH validation and invincibility frames were a bit much, objectively the strongest use of DH is for distance opposed to tanking a hit.
Im a Huntress main so i don't mind they get the distance, But they can also negate a hatchet hit, and get the distance.
So im happy for them to use it as a movement buff, but when that Hatchet hits them in the back and the invincibilty negates it just makes me cringe and tunnel the prick harder.

at this point though, most killers are ranting to just rant and want everything to do with survivors nerfed.
either side ranting continually like this is just cringe tbh
That maybe so, and i dont agree with it just because the surv was mean to me, But again you're not seeing as many nerf killer threads are you? Hell even the mandatory NOED is op daily isnt happeneing.
The only thing i want touched is Boons, That's it, Multiple boons suck on one map and they're essentially immortal.
You can keep everything else, Dead hard is stupid, (in the fact that i can hit you and it negates it) But illl live with it.
Multiple Coh is just toxic.

Omfg not another Us vs Them post number 5725848 this week!
Notice how most of them are from Killers though?
Even if they are just rants, the volume of them should indicate that Killers are not in a good state.
-
I'd rather all of those than 2 or more CoH.
That's just busted.
-
As a Killer, Camp,Tunnel slug. You don't need friends you need victims.
As a survivor? Get carried by your friends and profit.

I don't see what the mods posting and the "game health" has to do with it. The OP's idea is probably one of the dumbest suggestions I've ever seen that literally nobody would agree to participating in. When someone makes a stupid suggestion like this they should be told that it's a stupid suggestion.
That can be in the eye of the holder. I think no balancing for swfs is a stupid idea, a few people would agree, alot of people wouldn't.
-
@RoachesDelight said:
Why do people post such absurd suggestions that they have no clue how it would even work and sit there like yeahh I just figured out the fix all for this game... like come on
And how often do you hear anything on here about what's being worked on, or whats upcoming. Nothing until it's on the Ptr.
Anytime a mod posts it's nothing of any substance.
Yes the Op's post is unfeasible, but the current game health seems to be unfeasible long term as well.
-
Part of being a good Killer is know when to stop chasing, if you're looped for say 3 rotations and the pallet is still there, then move on.
You can gain the time back my proxy camping and tunneling. You won't have to chase if they come to you.
-
You're a newbie killer who obviously has more clue than the newbie survivors.
Give it time, you'll find harder victims.

You know darn well SWF put on blast like that would never get a match, they'd be dodged into oblivion.
Why? Is it because Killers don't find them fun or fair? OoO Telling everyone where a killer is all game? Multiple Boons?
Just because you want to play with your friends doesn't mean i do. You have KYF for that option.

Definitely not OP, but I think some of his add ons could be dialed back. Alchemist's Ring is busted in the hands of a good Blight. His speed add ons have the same issue that Spirit's speed add ons had. You have no idea what speed his rush is going to be
I don't know if your toolbox has a brand new part as well, So what's the difference?

Probably one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. If you are going to camp me like an idiot I will just tell my friends so they can gen rush.
So they'll just play normal and if i wound them, they'll be off to the nearest CoH totem?
-
Just die then i wont have to camp you.
-
Totems are very high risk high reward.
If they hang around they can god like, But 70% of your games they're cleansed and become worthless.
-
Easist way to "fix" boons, is when a boon is stomped it removes the totem.
This in turn gives it a limited use. it makes placement of boons meaniful, and makes it so a killer is actually achieving something.
-
From reading the forums last few weeks, it seems that 90% of the killer roster is in a awful spot, so why get stomped on a new killer, who will need decent perk synergy to be competitive.
-

It's a camping sign.
Had a match against a Pig where someone did this and it basically meant we got all the gens done and all got our traps off (iridescent) except them, because the Pig was camping them next to the box they needed.
It's useful information. If the killer is not camping you then YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SIGNAL.
@DbD_Enjoyer said:
Its a way to call survivors and tell them its safe to unhook, or they should at least try "now".
If the survivor is not waving on the hook, it usually means that its unsafe because the killer is nearby.
So is it they're camping or is it it's safe to unhook?

Had this happen recently against a TTV squad. Two boon totems up and 3 survivors swarm in to block when I pick a survivor up. I have to hit all three, survivor wiggles off and then the 3 that I'm not chasing heal up in 4 seconds. Happened 3 times. Very cool game design. It's comical how everything in this game is designed to ######### the killer player
This im feeling as well, even if you hook one they keep coming at you, go stomp one boon another is up. Rinse and repeat, i just try to tunnel and camp, at least if they're trying for an unhook, they're not genning.
-
Seeing more mettle of man as im getting to red as well. i just try to hug walls as i go to a hook and beat them to it. Or just drop and slash at whoever
-
Maybe people heard you were going to quit so thought they would help you?
-
Wraith has 2 main abilities.
Bing is he charging his lazer
Bong is when he is charging his battle axe of power.
be nowhere near him when you hear Bing or Bong.
If you're after help i get on the dbd discord and find some groups to run with to teach you stuff. Dbd is not noob friendly at all.
Between MMR and queue times you could be thrown in with Killers with thousands of hours of play time, Id ask on the discord for some help to get advice well playing.
-
Gremlins
New Survivor, Gizmo.
New Killer Stripe.
-
As a Huntress main ill give some advice.
Her Hatchets can hit like a fridge or they can get stuck on a piece of grass and miss, that goes both ways.
If go through a window or pallet duck instantly or go left or right instantly. These things do not help you outrun a Huntess.
Hard looping is your friend, Huntress has a slower movement speed to make up for her long range shooting. You need to hump those rocks/trees whatever to keep distance.
Her skill level is high but so are the rewards.
Watch a master huntress in action. Which can show her potential.

Tunnelling is meta because it makes the game easier, but doing it all the time will prevent you from improving
I agree, same with dead hard prevents you from improving looping.
-
i don't mind medkits as they have a lifespan.
Multiple boons is just crap. Stomp one they use the other and vice versa, on smaller maps its horrible, al it does for me is just force into proxy camp and tunnel. Why wound when they can get a free heal at leisure, or i can stay near this bait on the hook and at least get 1 out.
-
Can be to do with queue times.
When no one is queueing it grabs whoever is in the queue longest regardless of "rank" Plenty of newbie killers get thrown into red ranks swfs just because no red rank killers are playing.
-
I don't mind that it can be used to create distance, thats fine, but to negate a hit that does hit you, i.e a hatchet straight to the back of your head is just silly.
-
Why not camp when you can run to your multiple boons and heal?
Camping and tunneling is cause and affect. At least in my games.
-
Standing at hatches or gates, Just leave. You're just wasting my time.

Context is everything.
If you can't see how face-camping the first person is bad for the game then I don't know what to tell you.
It doesn't matter how you feel about Camping, that person never got to play the game. Those matches are boring and I don't see how anyone can consider that a "strat" at that point, because a strat would suggest that the person wants to win. 1k is not a win. Staying idle at the same hook is not earning you points. I.E. You are not playing the game.
It is a broken playstyle and if it wasn't the devs wouldn't have looked into changing it in the past. Nobody is saying to get rid of it, but there is a point where it is not used as a strat. It is flat out abusive. You only have to play killer to understand that.
As most killers have said, if Kicking gens was meaniful i wouldnt camp as much. If you couldn't just run off to a totem and use your free self care, i would'nt camp as much.
Killers get more value out of survs on hooks and using them as bait then walking to a gen and kicking it.
-
Perks that are fine for solo play, become op in swf form. The perks are balanced around solo play not swfs.
So having swfs skews the game. Take OoO for instance, a solo surv with it not much of a drama, swf with comms knowing where the killer is full time is op.
1 CoH placed fine, multiple boons, with shared locations op.
I don't have an issue with swfs they are a part of the game, but to say that they don't provide an advantage over solo players with no comms is ridiculous.
My only solutions would be to:
Either make it Duo only and leave perks alone.
Give the survs or a killer a handicap for each swf member, i.e Slower repairs, more regression after kick etc, increase/decrease time on cds.
Movement speed buff etc.
It's like World of warcraft and pvp, talents that were fine in pve, become op in pvp, So pve players would suffer for it, it took them nearly 15 years to make certain talents activate on pvp mode only. There needs to be some form of seperation and at least achknowledgement of this or the cycle will never end.

Ironically if killers had their version of DH it would be a hex totem..with a cooldown..and tokens to be acquired before it was usable. That's the kind of double standards we have on perks these days and should illustrate how strong DH actually is.
On a serious note, I'd rather the outlier perks such as DH be brought down instead of trying to match it. We've got a lot of power creep going on.
keep the dash remove the invincibility. It's crap you can dead hard a hatchet that hits you.
-
1 CoH is fine, its an annoyance, but not breaking.
Multiple CoH breaking.
Multiple CoH on small maps, say Ormund when i had 3 CoH is just head desk material.
If survivors wonder why they will be tunnelled and camped, these are perfect reasons to.
Wounded survivors with CoH active has no value. Survivors on hooks is worth far more.
-
So basically 20% of the killer roster on 20% of the maps have a chance at not gaining or losing pips.
Great.
-
Don't be silly.
Survive by daylight is fine.

Know that feel, for my first three games today I got:
- Haddonfield offering
- RPD offering
- Haddonfield offering
Although I did play the new map a bit. It doesn't seem too massive, and it seems like the gens spawn in fairly even spots throughout the map, so don't think it seems too unbalanced?
Also, I really like the catwalks in the multi-level main building. Had lots of fun shredding between the levels as Demo (can also shred on top of the bookcases, atop which I perched as I watched a sabo squad bleed out.
Don't mind rpd so much. Im a Huntress main so try to get a hook on the Library side, proxy camp and enjoy the corridor blocking.
Edit: on topic. I don't like it, aesthetically its beautiful. Game play it's horrible. I'd hate to be a trapper main.

So like Pig and Ambush?

Shouldn't have to use the same 4 meta perks on every killer to stand a chance. That's the problem. That kills immersion and diversity and makes the game bland.
I think survivors have the same issue to a degree. At least with Dead hard and Borrowed Time.

Dear Pizzasauce.
Well spelling truly you drop the E.

Well find a nice small map.
Get multiple boons.
See how much fun it is.
I had 3 CoH on Ormund. Suffice to say i Facecamped that 1 survivor i managed to down.

Plenty of people have said positive things about boon totems - the thing is most people look at one side only.
Plenty of survivors have said positive things.

Most killer mains will be joining the survivor happy land sparkle party.

I'll agree on face camping. Not necessarily removing it but making the experience less punishing for the victim and less rewarding for the killer who does it.
I don't care what you believe, face camping the first survivor you catch until they die doesn't need to be a strategy that gets people mmr gains. A face camping Bubba that runs NOED should not be able to guarantee 2+ kills by doing the bare minimum.
I feel like tunneling, slugging and camping is otherwise fine though. They are legitimate tactics.
And if using the data said in other threads, you can be a surv, do nothing bar the bare minimum, survive and you gain mmr.
