I got a couple of friends to start playing, they are learning the game as survivor right now (although one of them is a killer main). When I group with one of them to help them learn, we end up 8n games with rank 13-15 killers (I'm currently a ran 3 surv). With both of them we get rank 18 killers. I play stealth, don't loop, etc but it's still pretty ridiculous that I'm in these matches with the poor killers. I really feel that any SWF should be matched to the lowest rank member - in this case rank 3 - and there should be a casual mode with no rank so I can play a relaxed game and help my friends learn with a killer who isnt stressed or going to go all tryhard on them, but enjoys a more relaxed "just for fun" game. I'd even be fine with something like half the BP for the casual mode, although no BP would make it hard to get killers to play.
tl;dr: SWFs should match by lowest ranked member (closest to 1) and there should be a casual mode for less BP. -
What a stupid, petty thing for a mod to pick as the one example of them finally doing thier job. How about the ad himinem attacks in every post here with more than 2 replies, or the various other, far more aggregious violations we see regularly? It reeks of a personal issue to me.

Drop the one you are carrying and leave them there until the blockers are all either down or running of to self heal. If you still cant get it, just slug them.
-
Reported. Naming and shaming is not okay.
-
Nurses calling is exceptional on Freddy. Anyone using SC to wake up becomes visible, unless they leave your TR, in which case they become visoble anyway.
-
I do think 3 is a big deal. Not only are they easy to get around, but there's currently a disarm vacuum. I think the vacuum mechanic is good in most cases - no wont to screw arou dgetting lined up perfectly for an action - but in all cases it should require being inside a somewhat shallow angle in front of you.
-
Usually it means someone is trying to tilt me to either make me play sloppy or to spend all my time chasing the SWF team's best looper. I used to tunnel and camp the offender, but now I generally reward this behavior by ignoring it entirely and often switching targets if an opportunity presents itself. You'd be surprised how often this results in more BP for me, even if the tbagger escapes.

The matchung system is seriously broken. I see this all the time.

There's no better way to "stop creating drama" than starting drama by posting about stopping it. It's like posting "I wont dignify this with a response".

1. I agree conpletely. The game needs more ways to hide and escape chases, less looping.
2. No, no and no. Sometimes you have to play sacrifical lamb and be happy that the team gets a shot when a killer is lame and camps the first hook, but you cannot punish killers for camping, period. If for no other reason than the fact that this will allow for constant hook rushes. The only way killers will ever accept a camping penalty is if they get to see auras of any survivors near the hook.
3. No. Being able to heal yourself any time a killer breaks a chase is lame, especially when the killer is already at a massive disadvantage for time, and forces killers to tunnel in order to not have wasted any time spent getting the first hit.
4. I think this is worth trying, but given that 70% of games have an SWF, I think it may just be a dead queue and lead to painfully long wait times for SWF survivors unless the killer is given some kind of incentive to play the much more challenging SWF lobbies. -
I have no problem polite, respectful SWFs. Even if they wreck me. It really is the toxic players that are a problem and the lack of moderation or consequence. Unfortunately, many SWF teams take the toxicity to a new level and make killers feel bullied and ganged up on, especially in after game chat. Hence the, imo, somewhat misplaced anger at SWFs in general. But then, I play SWF with my roommate and occassionally other friends and killer when I play solo, so I guess I'm biased.
-
I think t-bagging is just a mindgame. As long as killers keep letting it bug them, it will be a valid, if unsavory, tactic for distracting or otherwise tilting a killer.
Just ignore it. Don't let the douchebags win. -
Sure, as soon as DS is deleted.
-
I immediately have visions of 4 survivors standing in the exit area emoting at each other until the killer shows up or wandering aimlessly around the map for 10 minutes after the gates open while the bored af killer stares at a wall.
Please, no, this would just encourage holding the game hostage after the gates open, which is already a thing and incredibly annoying for killers. -
If you cant be bothered to even learn the basic mechanics, stop suggesting changes to them and expecting to be taken seriously.
By the way, Google is a thing. Use it. -
Oompa, loompa, doopedy dooood...
this is what happens when survs dont git gud... -
Willy Wonka, the Jonny Depp version. Tell me he doesn't rack up some sweet kills - blowing people up, drowning them in chocolate, making them float into a giant fan (almost), etc.
Make his new map full of wierd deathtraps and call it the Salt Factory. When you get hooked, oompa loompas come out of the woodwork to sing a song about why t-bagging is rude. -
Ahh, fair enough. Objection retracted.
-
The only problem I have with this otherwise very funny meme is that Freddy is at the table with the "good killers". Are you high? lol
-
Whine for a whine makes the whole world salty.

I played solo surv they other day and was up against a hag, but didnt know it. I kept hearing her TR, while on a gen but never saw her and spine chill kept flashing but never stayed solid. I finish the gen and UE away to a nearby pallet with good cover and still nothing....
So I let go of crouch for a second and BAM! Hag trap at the pallet. I literally chucked my mouse. Best jump scare so far in the game. -
Don't encourage him.
-
I read the whole thing, but I then I got to the "solution" at the end and I feel like I got trolled.
-
I definitely feel like this kind of thoughtful, well-articulated post will have the desired effect. It's hard to ignore such a thorough examination of the problem and the possible paths to mitigation. /s
-
I normally hate the usual "gut gud" response, but if you are whining about BBQ and don't even know if it's 4 seconds or 6 seconds...
-
If any survivor wants to give up 3 perk slots for a kobe build, I'm all for it. I say yes, impliment this.
-
Freddy finally gets some play!
-
I really wish there was some kind if filter to automatically delete posts complaining about camping/tunneling or SWF and proposing "fixes" for them.
We can same the same thing about SWF and camping - the devs have made it clear that it's an intended part of the game and it's time to just deal with that reality, annoying as it may be. -
Why not double the percentage to 50% and max tokens 2 so you get the 100% bump much more easily. Then award the unhooking token with the same logic as the emblem - token is removed if the unhooked surv is downed again within 15 seconds. This would remove the hook farming but also further encourage appropriate altruism and BT builds to actually help other survivors.
-
I'm not judging here, because I get how cathartic it can be to let all the built up salt and toxicity out every once in a while.
That said, I honestly think t-bagging only happens because killers continue to give a crap. If we all just ignored it, it would fade away, like toddler tantrums.
We spend a lot of time telling survivors that camping is thier fault for feeding killers with hook rushes, but I think t-bagging is likewise our fault for letting distraction plays work by using it.
-
Jesus, I ran out of popcorn half way through this train wreck!
-
Not that I don't like the idea, but this would basically be another game and would require a whole new balance scheme to be managed concurrently, etc. You're essentially asking for DbD 2 as another game mode that would have to be managed concurrently, and we can all see how much of a struggle it is to balance the game as it is.
-
Regardless of the delivery, Chester is right. You'd just spend the rest of the match bleeding out more often than not because the killer won't want to pick you up.
-
Yes, please fix it.
-
I know there's a lot of hate for SWF, but I only play survs when I am in an SWF with friends and we go out of our way to NOT be toxic. We always say gg even if the killer facecamped.
As a killer, I see just as much toxicity from solos as from SWF.
Honestly, SWF isnt the problem IMO. Toxicity and a total lack of oversight or enforcement of "rules" around "bannable offenses" that is the real problem here.
I realize SWF gives a lot of advantages, but there is no way to get rid of it now. 70% of survivors are in an SWF, so removing it would only kill the game and the determined folks who stuck around would find ways to still play together and use comms. Really, the devs just need to start balancing arou d the reality of SWF and make comms easy to opt-in for solos.
That's just my opinion. You may now commence flaming. -
Honestly, even if a group brings a BNPx4, that is just crap. Let them have the exit and move on, it's not the players' fault the dev gave them broken items. Don't hate the player, hate the dev.
-
If killers get a perk that makes each survivor instantly lose a health state the first time the killer enters a chase with them, then by all means, leave DS alone. Or maybe the killer could get a skillcheck the first time sees a survivor (no chase needed), so it's completely balanced.
-
I don't understans why the devs don't just make every color a bracket and stop depipping from dropping you a bracket. Season reset would only reset your bracket and the only way to rank down a bracket would be to not play for a season (30 days or so). Only allow matching within a brackey and match SWF to the lowest ranked player in the group. Derankng problem solved, SWF matching solved, more fun for everyone (except toxics).
There are probably 100 other solutions, probably many of them better. How is this so difficult? It's not rocket surgery. -
Where is this magical land where no one complains about it and what kind of drugs do I have to take to get there?Global said:@DocOctober said:
That would make Iron Grasp pretty much a mandatory Perk to have as Killer. That is not a solution.Hex ruin is basically mandatory but people still use and dont complain about how mandatory it is. I dont think iron grasp which is a fairly common perk would be to bad.
-
Yeah, no toxicity here. Just a lot of rainbows and unicorns.
Oh, and Lowbei
-
I have mixed feelings here. I don't think you can ever really regulate insults or curses and I think a lot of people need to just thicken thier skin and stop being triggered by certain syllables.
On the other hand, some of the aggregious cases, particularly involving certain racial, religious and sexual trigger-words, really shouldn't be allowed to stand under any circumstances. It seems like it's not too much to ask to have the devs do something about these more extreme cases when they are reported.
-
Drop the whole thumbs down. No one should ever be punished by the subjective opinion others have of thier game play, especially is said others arw in an opposition role.
The DC part is good, but the problem roght now is that they already automatically detect and penalize DCs, there is just a downright stupid threshold for penalties.
The onky adjustment that needs to be made is lowering the DC penalty threshhold to something sane. -
You need to rethink your definition of balance in a 4v1 game. That would effectively add 1 perk slot to killers and 4 slots to survivors. No thanks!
-
The only dance moves this game needs is a twerking emote for LF that can only be used in the basement with a hooked survivor.
-
What about leaving no scratchmarks during a chase? Then if you break LOS with a successful juke you can actually get away without just starting a new chase when the killer traces your scratch marks.
-
That's because most survivors get downed at the boxes.
-
When I first saw this topic come up elsewhere, I thought differently, but after playing a lot of surv lately I am suddenly finding myself agreeong woth Jack. I can loop a killer for a good long while, but it's basically a battle of wills to see if you can eventually make him give up. There seems to be very little chance of ever actually escaping a chase. Even when you do, scratchmarks last long enough that they'll pick it back up a few seconds later unless you're running lightweight or in a REALLY good spot to UE away. The concept of escaping and stealthing needs to be brought back to forefront and looping addressed so that, as the devs keep saying, the survivor will be trying to actually escape instead of dragging out the chase.
-
The biggest issue I see with Freddy is that it's so easy to wake up that it essentially forces tunnelling, because the moment a survivor gets out of the chase they are back to being untouchable. I think fixing the SC wake-up would make a huge difference. Stopping actions while transitioning would also be a big help. Lowering transition time to 4 seconds would mean several add-ons would need a re-work, though.
-
Yes, I am. SWF is more common than solo. All survivor perks and items should be evaluated based on the impact of having 4 of them in a match. This is a 4v1 game.Shadoureon said:@Baphomett said:
I never used a BNP on survivor before the nerf was announced, but I had 3 of them. I tried them out with friends in an SWF to see if they were really that OP, and yes, they really are. 4 gens popped before the killer started his first chase.Calling a addon OP because you used multiple as a SWF team...
Same reason DS is stupidly OP. If they changed it so ONLY the obsession gets it, most killers would be okay with it. Sure, some killers would still be salty about one DS per match and post about it on here, but ultimately they would just have to live with it.
