  • It seems like this could be solved my setting survivors' auto-ready to 20 seconds instead of 5, but leaving killers at 5 seconds.  No more last second switches.  Then impose a lobby dodging penalty - nothing the first time, 5 min for 2nd, 10 for 3rd, etc.

As a killer I would be fine with this.  I lobby dodge the extreme, obvious bully squads but I don't think it's fair to dodge everything but an itemless vanilla squad.  And really, if every once in a while I have to face an SWF bully squad, but I had the guaranteed opportunity to adjust my build, I'd be okay with it.
  • I never used a BNP on survivor before the nerf was announced, but I had 3 of them. I tried them out with friends in an SWF to see if they were really that OP, and yes, they really are. 4 gens popped before the killer started his first chase.

  • Or Freddy, since everyone misses thier first SC skillcheck.  Then again, he may not count as a killer.
  • The devs were pretty clear that it wasnt released yet specifically because it will NOT reset healing recieved from medkits and other players.
  • Now that I'd be fully in support of.
  • Just make one chance to BBQ - leave it 4 secpnds (hell, make it 10 for that matter) but auras disappear when you get within 40 meters, whether that happens in the 1st second or the 4th.  Essentially, instead of "the aura of any survivor 40 meters or more from the hook is revealed for 4 seconds" it becomes "the aura of any survivor 40 meters or more from the KILLER is revealed for 4 seconds", thus the 40 meter immunity moves WITH the killer.

    Thoughts?
  • Just think about how many times survs flame a killer for doing his job after the match.  That would be 4 reports.  Every time a flashlight mob abuses a killer - one report for each of them.  Very quickly no killers would play, because they'd either be banned after every match or too afraid to actually kill anyone and get reported, whereas toxic survs would have 4 times the banning power.   On the plus side - camping, tunneling, moris, hatch standoffs, NOED, Ruin and generally anything that involves killers scoring points would be gone from the game and all killers would be a strict catch and release policy, which is what a lot of posters here seem to want.
  • LF with no add-ons is easy mode.  Run around the map for a while with your huge terror radius and bright yellow neon apron, find a survivor and watch them SB into the distance, chase them for a while and then watch them fade into the distance again while you slow to a crawl because LF is too dumb to walk and rev a chainsaw at the same time for the ridiculously long base charge time, then go the basement and cry until the exit gates are open.  Easy.
  • The best argument I have is this - if killers had a perk that, once per survivor for each match, would instantly re-shoulder them after a save, DS or successful wiggle, we would see survivors make a mass exodus from the game with a massive sea of salt in thier wake.  But the reverse is totally okay?
  • I think these posts are a result of a bad ranking system that has a lot of skilled, depipping players crushing less skilled players, which makes thier powers seem OP.  I am learning survivor and still suck at juking, so understand the sentiment.  If I played survs like me as a killer, I'd feel like a god.

But every 4th match or so I get a killer that actually belongs in the high ranks with me and doesnt have all the meta perks for thier build and then suddenly my sorry surv skills wreck the poor baby killer with a chase that lasts 2 minutes and involves a lot of chainsawing walls, blinking past my badly executed 180s, or whiffing M1 before while taking a pallet to the face.

My point is, fix the ranking system so players are actually against other similarly skilled players, or at least players with hours played in the same order of magnitude, and we'll stop seeing so many of these "xxxxx is OP" posts.
  • This would be abused so much that the game would die overnight.  It would be better actually read reports and address legitimate bad behavior, which doesnt seem to be happening.
  • I personally dont get it.  As surv, playing streamers seems to be begging the killer to tunnel and facecamp for no apparent reason.  I often think maybe he is farming and waiting for someone to come unhool, but he never is.. he just downs the guy coming to help.

As a killer, if ai see streamers, I tunnel the first surv I see until I down him, then dribble him till h3 wiggles free and follow him at a distance hoping he got the message that I'm down to farm.  Cause seriously, who doesnt want extra BP? We can always be sweaty tryhards on the next match, right?  I seem to be in the minority here, though.
  • Asking for way too much, this would make her totally OP.  Especially the last one - she is already fast enough and this would only punish non-SB-users to the point where SB would be mandatory for all survivors, which in turn would guarantee it never gets nerfed.

It seems like the simpler fix would be to just shorten the timer and make the traps timer jump 20 percenet every time a generator is repaired, thus either slowing all the survivors gen progress or giving you an easy kill.  Either way the RBT becomes deadly without the Pig just camping Jigsaw boxes.
  • I played as surv last night and started the match literally looking at the ruin totem.  Ruin was down before anyone was even on a gen.  Just saying.
  • Given the number of blatant bait posts, posts with curses in the title, and outright player abuse, I'm fairly convinced there are no actual moderators on these forums anymore.
  • Exposed would work just as well for the intent and hamper the player less.  Good call!
  • You are a truly dedicated killer.  I cba to spend more then 30 secpnds on it.  If the survivor has enough patience to drag out a completed game for more than that, he can have the bloody hatch.
  • I played a game the other day on LF to get my daily for 4 downs with the chainsaw.  Survs rushed the hook repeatedly and I got 2 double-downs.  The second time, I hooked one of them and juggled the other until they wiggled free, then moved away to let them unhook and escape.  After all, I had my daily, and I hate playing LF.

The response from them?  Salt and insults in the lobby for downing them in the first place and "camping" when they rushed the hook before I could take 2 steps away from it.

You just can't win and being "nice" is never met with gratitude.  I say play however you want, be respectful and say gg after every match, and otherwise ignore the lobby or you'll go mad as a killer.
  • Can we just agree that saying "ez" in the lobby makes you an ass regardless of what role you are playing?
  • DC is getting way to common all around.  I play on PC, so it's not as painful, but I see at least one surv dc in about 4 out of 5 matches now, on both killer and surv.  It screws the killer out of pojnts, possinly even causing a depip, and hurts the other survivors even more.  The devs really need to make the penalties harsher and lower the threshhold for DCs before consequences to 1 or 2 a day.  I would just stop playing survivor if I were on PS4.
  • I read this is brilliantly sarcastic and genuinely laughed out loud.  If this was actually not a parody taking a shot at SWF, then... wow...
  • Good point if he is the only survivor that can do it.  When even 2 surv can do loop like that, it's not a workable strategy.

Btw, since when is "the only viable strategy is to give up and let the survivor go" an argument for a balanced game?  Would anyone be okay with it if there was a perk that occassionally made one generator randomly regress and it could never be finished in under 5 minutes regardless of the skill of the survivir and his ability to hit great skill checks?  Would "just give up and find a different gen" be a valid argument?  For that matter, what if that happened on more than one gen, or even all of the gens?

Balance can't include strategies that can't be countered due to the mechanics of the game.  That's the very definition of imbalance.  By definition, balance means that players of equal skill have an equal chance of success.  Given that this is a 4v1 game, that means that balance would mean the killer has to have a distinct advantage in any given 1-on-1 encounter with a player of equal skill.  Even odds would still be imbalanced, let alone the current advantage on the survivor side.  When 1 out of 4 chases at rank 1 ends in the survivor either escaping or wasting over a minute of the killers time, then we're close to a balanced game.
  • Wait, people played games for fun? That must have been before the internet.

  • Welcome to playing a killer in the current meta.
  • Wait, you WANT killers to all play slugging games?
  • My favorite so far was "Wraith is OP, play a killer we can see."
  • Not Camping = Going to the far side of the map and facing the corner like a 2 year old in a timeout until the survivor is unhooked and fully healed.  Unless you play nurse, then that's still camping.
  • I suggest fixing the WGLF sandbagging problem by setting it to 2 tokens for 50% each and adding the following effect to it:

    **Take me instead!
    **
When you unhook another survivor, your health state is reduced to injured and their health state is raised to healthy. No effect if you are already injured. At rank 2/3, your movement speed is reduced by 50/25% for 5 seconds and the rescued survivor runs at 150% speed for 3 seconds. This effect occurs regardless of health state.

  • Sure, as long as there is a red circle aroind every vault and pallet and hitting it a second time results in instant dying state.  Oh, and half as many pallets on the map.  And no flashlights.  And no DS.  And no emotes of any kind.  And disconnecting when hit or hooked results in a ban.  And no self heal, especially between pallets. And double the time to complete a gen.  And and and and....

OR we could finally agree that 100% survival rating is NOT the point of this game and that killers should get to have fun, too.
  • As for ranks, just remove the concept of de-pip, or limit it to a single rank.  e.g. Once you hit rank 10 you can never de-rank higher than 11.
  • This while SWF problem really feels like a simple fix with minimal effort for the devs.  Just flag SWF groups so killers have a choice whether to play them or leave the lobby and give a 25% BP bonus per SWF player in the match so the killer is incentivized to play them.
