I am so glad. This map was so incredible unfair. Really looking forward to Midwich's rework as well.
Are there plans to rework midwich?

Pallet vacuum or wait for an M1 killer. You could also do it with killers who need to charge up (Plague is easy to pallet stun, at least for me). Watch out if you’re doing it against a MYERS or killers with extended lunges (I think Freddy is the only other one with a natural extended lunge).

lol Whiskers. I've been getting a bunch of Weskers, Wraiths, and Clowns. I'll gladly take a few Dredges
You can have my Mikeys, Ghostfaces, and Blights.

This isn't game breaking.
Also, and ironically, yesterday I went against a Trapper who through stacking of regression perks and scourge hooks managed to get a gen I was working on to reduce from 80-90% to one 'pump' and then nothing twice. We got 1 gen done. Pretty annoying. Pretty hopeless.
It's swings and round abouts.
Was the trial on Midwich?

I only see it offered for killer (25-50%) really, really early in the morning. It doesn’t last long; maybe 30 minutes to an hour.

Yes, it’s real. It’s a current tome challenge. I’ve never seen anyone point after a stun before and I doubt it’s very common at all. Because usually people hope to stun and buy more time before they go down.

I kinda like that some maps favor killers and some favor survivors. It feels natural.

That includes low MMR, where killers dominate. The game should be balanced around high skill, because low skill players will eventually get good at the game and rise to high MMR while the reverse doesn't really happen.
Also if we purely look at stats with no context then I suppose nurse should get a huge buff and pig a big nerf?
BHVR’s data showed kill rates are highest in mid-high to high MMR.

I think that leak is just a cosmetic for Dredge.

Not necessarily,
If you queue with 1 friend you and your friends repair speed/heal speed etc is slowed by 2%
if you queue with 2 friends in 4%
full swf it's 10%
There are ways that they could moderate the power of swfs that only affect the swf without nerfing "x" perk or killer or having to give solo's new features.
It’s been revealed by the devs that, believe it or not, SWF is a negligible factor in survivability. I guess their response is essentially most SWFs are still casual, so they aren’t amazing players. To your suggestion though… Is there any other game out there that penalizes players for queueing up with friends?

Only thing I think of STBFL is that it shouldn't let the killer recover faster than the survivor's sprint after getting hit. That's just a bit too much.
Other than that, I think it's fine. You can still try to save at your own risk or give the killer a kill and get the others out instead of going all down near the hook.
Technically the Obsession can meat shield to reset the perk. The killers I’ve faced who run STBFL are either inept or don’t care because they tunnel out their obsession before end of trial while running the perk. I don’t really see it as problematic for that reason.
-
Even if killers received an equivalent degree of influence map vote preference, I still think it would result in a stalemate. Survivors would clearly vote against maps that favor killers—and they absolutely should. Killers would certainly vote against maps that favor survivors, which is also reasonable. Leaving things up to chance is probably the only thing that can really work.
-
Supposedly it’s considered griefing (survivor working with killer) and is punishable. But like so much else in this game, BHVR is unlikely to enforce it. Even with video evidence.
-
It’s always been META to make the game a 3v1 ASAP. This was the case before CoH, this is the case regardless of Medkits. It doesn’t matter which perks survivors do or don’t bring, it doesn’t matter how survivors play at all. What makes the game easiest for killers is tunneling early on to force a 3v1.
-
I don’t personally think Nurse is that bad to face but I understand she’s essentially game-breaking. I do think it says something when some of the top players (Otz, Ayrun, etc) say she needs rebalancing.
Some of your counters are off, though:
- you can’t know you’re facing Nurse until you are in a match with her, so you may not be on a map that “counters” her.
- Dead Hard is easy to bait and Nurse doesn’t care about the minor speed boost distance a survivor receives from timing it right. I wouldn’t say it’s an efficient counter against Nurse. If anything, SB or Lithe are better
- I’ve never seen running forward used as an efficient counter against Nurse. Wouldn’t recommend.
But hiding/stealthing, erratic pathing (predicting her predictions to confuse her), those are good tips.
-
This is super cute. I’m gonna try to give a killer hatch if the opportunity presents.

Agreed. I think all OP can do is chalk it to the game right now. As I’ve commented earlier the time of slugging is drawing to an end. I used to think basekit UB was unnecessary (I can’t remember the last time a killer slugged me or the last time I slugged as killer) but I now believe it’s a good change. Situations like OP’s will become a thing of the past. Good riddance.

Well it's not entirely to bully or flex. When I do it it's because they are trying to stuggle and make it more difficult to end the match especially if Boil Over is in play....If a Survivor wants to make the last hook a struggle then we will wait the bleed out.
OP said the killer dropped them beside an available hook.

I answered the question based on the information given. Your response nitpicks how I presented it, not my conclusion.
And I didn't say die. It is clear she would rather be hooked than bled out.

This. This is what I was asking. Did I want to die no but I didn't want to sit there for 4 minutes and I don't DC
If a killer slugs/carries & drops you near an available hook it’s entirely to flex and bully you. It’s that player saying “yeah I control your ability to play.” There’s no strategic reason for it whatsoever.
But fret naught. There’s an update coming that’s gonna fix that right up. Soon enough, you won’t hafta worry about being slugged again. No survivor will. :)

I'd really just like it if they removed the self heal aspect entirely, but buffed the speed bonus back up to 100% and revealed the aura of injured teammates inside the radius to other teammates.
How is this more useful to survivors than running Aftercare, Bond, Empathy, or some other survivor-aura reading perk and healing anywhere on the map?

Killer q times are not long at all. For my MMR the incentive jumps from 1 to the other frequently.
Length is relative here. Personally, they’re unacceptably long for me. But regardless, they are broadly longer than survivor queue times.

Majority are killer players? That's a good one. No. There are waaaaay more survivors in this game, the forums, Twitter and every where else whixh will always mean they are the first and the loudest whiners.
I'm only complaining because dead hard is unfair like nurse or getting hit by a flying truck in the form of a huntress hatchet even though you are hidden entirely behind a wall. Not to mention it's unfun like old hatch stand offs or getting trapped in a corner until you have a murder of crows above your head.
Its unfun because killers are STILL waiting for dead hard which means that survivors can still make it to a safe window pallet or get a body block.
I'm not adapting I'm doing the same thing before the change.
If the game is inundated with survivors why are killer queue times long & why is the BP bonus rarely if ever on killers?

How can they make the game 20+ minutes if they're clueless in chase and tunneling constantly? Not that I'm doubting your experiences, just that the two concepts are kinda opposite. Killers who are bad in chase but still tunnel are providing long periods of not pressuring gens, so they shouldn't even be able to make the rounds reapplying the kick perks in time unless people just arent working on them.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3228265#Comment_3228265
Do you understand how bloodlust works? all you have to do is force them to kick a door or break a pallet to reset it. It even resets when they score a hit, and takes 15/25/35 seconds to rank back up. If they need to BL both hits there damn well better be 1-3 gens popping in that time, which means you already won the chase. Not only that, but if they are tunneling you can be more proactive with both your routing to force them to have to reset BL, while also predropping safe pallets to prevent getting hit. Its why killers don't tunnel confident survivors, they know they will lose more time than they save. Thats why its the direct counter to the strategy.
Yes. I understand how a common feature of the game works. Stunning a killer with a pallet during a loop, which isn’t easy against any mildly decent killer, doesn’t circumvent my point. And while bloodlust is lost after a basic m1 hit, there are many killers who can down in chase really easily. They probably don’t even need to rely on bloodlust when tunneling.

Especially since the counter is to get better at looping, which requires effort.
That isn’t the counter to tunneling. Killers have bloodlust..?

You do realize that you get Void Energy from all stuns right? Blast Mine, Head On, and Decisive Strike steal Void Energy from the killer.
Killers don’t need to run perks to try and steal anything from survivors, though. Survivors shouldn’t need a specific perk build to even try to do well against killers. And I’ve personally never been stunned by any of those perks because they’re easy to anticipate. I can’t imagine many killers really fall for them. Maybe if the killer is kind they’ll allow a survivor to stun them.
-
Gen rushing isn’t a thing. If you believe survivors are finishing gens too quickly, run more slowdown perks and focus on pressuring gens (that means keeping survivors away from them by chasing them off or kicking them). Try to create a three-gen so you have an easier patrol radius. You’re faster than survivors, all you need is map awareness. Good luck :)

Crappy matchmaking is a problem, but not one that has anything to do with game health or player recidivism? The game isn't picking bad matches because it doesn't have enough players spread around in various MMRs, it gives you bad matches because it prioritizes speed over accuracy and it completely falls apart when players leave their initial lobby (as their replacements are basically random.)
I suspect both.

Actually there are differences. For instance, stealth in general is most useful against survivors with typical situational awareness and becomes much less useful the more observant the survivors are to their surroundings. So the stealth killers tend to do well in average matches but not as well in the higher MMR brackets.
Gotcha. Thanks.

You can tell a lot of games are lost causes and that's when I don't have an issue with hook suicides. Because that is fun for killer and killer queue times are long? Like it may be unfun for survivor but I mean what about the killer? They’re enjoying themselves.

Spare your words for you will not reach him. He is lost.

I don't think that's true at all. His iri's are nice and good for information, but one of them makes you come out of portals slower meaning it takes longer to teleport. Demo is really not a bad killer at all, but he is very punishable. He's probably one of the most well balanced killers we've seen in this game.
I agree with you. The perception here seems to be that killers with clear counters are ‘bad’ but killers that are very tough to counter (I.e. Nurse, Blight, Spirit) are good presumably because they’re more likely assure victory for the killer player. Demo is not a mediocre killer; it is an above average killer (B-A tier). Dredge is maybe slightly below Demo but is also decent (B-A tier).
-
I see killers tunnel a single survivor all or a large portion of a match then complain when the remaining survivors finish all gens. I’ve even seen killers run Save the Best for Last but tunnel their obsession before the end of the match (at 3-4 gens). Then complain about killers being weak. Can anyone explain this to me?

I specifically stated that your opponent is not responsible for your fun. When you are playing on a team. you do have some responsibility aiding the team towards the common goal.
What would be hypocritical would be if I got mad at the killer for not farming out if fellow survivors rage quit, because they have no responsibility to do so.
You’re producing illogical caveats to defend a bunkum position. No player should be responsible for another player’s fun (in any game, and I can’t really think of any besides this one where that’s at all even close to being a thing), and the tagline for survivors is “play together or selfishly.” So…?
-
Basekit UB exists because of the new change to mori. But I can’t recall anyone asking for the mori redesign BHVR wants. It doesn’t help survivors, and it just seems to remove agency from killers. Was there some sort of toxicity that lead BHVR to implement this new system?

Most everyone here is guessing and realistically, most are closer to the middle. If someone really wanted to know and was fine with risking a ban, they could check their MMR on PC.
There's usually a huge misunderstanding about how matchmaking in this game works though. Just because someone faces "high MMR" players doesn't mean they themselves are at high MMR. The system is tuned to be anti-competitive. Someone can be in the top percentile of players in the world and still be within matchmaking range of someone smack dab in the middle at 1350 MMR.
Didn’t peanits specifically state (and other devs on livestreams) that very few players are actually high MMR? It seems that a plethora of killer mains believe themselves to have high MMR, but that doesn’t really match anything BHVR has officially said about MMR. I think, as you mentioned, it’s important to recognize that facing skilled players doesn’t necessarily mean oneself is at high MMR. And while I do believe more killer mains occupy the high MMR bracket than survivor players, I do not believe that facing a specific caliber of survivor means the killer player is at high MMR. None of this even considers the soft cap.

Mmkay. But you complained about it specifically because it affected the experience (enjoyment) of other players. And yet here you are stating that killers aren’t responsible for the fun of survivors—which is totally true. It’s just.. lol, nvm. Thanks for your response, Crowman.

Also, there's literally a group of Xbox players who boot me off anytime I load into a lobby with them. Some people are #########.

I have, on many many occasions, had team mates DC when the state of the game is very much salvagable.
I'd had team mates DC at 4 gens lefts, only for the three of us remaining to get to 4.5 gens completed. That fourth survivor could have easily made it all 5.
As a more extreme example, I've once had two survivors give up early on at around 2 gens done, and then the two of us remaining still managed to repair all the gens AND escape by juking the killer and tag teaming chases and gens.
Unfortunately, for many DBD players, they simply cannot handle losing. A 50% escape rate is not acceptable for survivors and a 50% kill rate is not acceptable for killers. You all need to learn how to lose.
I think people appraise victory in real time by both a measurement of the skill they’ve seen their teammates demonstrate and the skill of the killer. I’ve been in matches where I’ve accurately predicted things were going to be a wash quite early, and I’ve been in matches where things turned around. The latter is a far rarer situation. But it does occur.

So you mean they do it because they were dying on hook and no one was coming to save them? That’s a lot different than the scenario painted by your original comment.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a survivor DC or give up on hook when the survivors are winning. It makes no sense why they would. If it happens, maybe they have to quit/leave because something is happening offline.

I mean, it's something you should do if your teammates are clearly getting face camped. If killers still blame survivors for not saving their teammates when camping and complain about gen rushing then that's a skill issue on the killer, not the survivor. Also if the killer doesn't apply enough gen pressure and commit themselves to a chase that's out of their skill range, once again, it's a skill issue on the killer why gen rushing happens.
Not saying I agree with it (I think the idea of ‘Gen rushing’ is silly). Just sharing what I’ve seen killers refer to as Gen rushing. Yes, there is a presumption that if a killer is camping the team will still try to trade hooks. If they let the teammate die and just work on gens they are ‘Gen rushing’ per killer mains here.
