Close your eyes and picture David in that outfit. Remove the shirt. Replace the pants with a pair of tight swimming shorts.
We need shorts. No, we Must get shorts!

The perks I use piss off a lot of people when they see them listed at the end of a match.
Spine Chill
Urban Evasion
Self Care
Plunderers Instinct.
I know my build is considered "bad" by many but I just don't care. It works for me and the Keys I get from chests as a result of Plunderers helps make up for the overly aggressive players I get matched with.

Don't understand the hate over Candyman but I'm pretty certain that Candyman isn't coming this chapter but instead will be coming next chapter.
I don't really hate the idea of Candyman, I would just rather have Chucky running around the map, with his laughter sending chills down my spine. I'd also love hearing the pitter patter of his feet while he runs.
I just hope if it is Candyman, they give him an interesting power and he doesn't become boring to go against like Freddy.

I was indifferent to messages in chat like this, but something happened and I started to see such comments after almost every game. After every god damn game.
No tunneling, no camping, even no slugging, really nice games, but some individual always writes "nice NOED", "noob Huntress" or "######### camper". I like this game, really like, but this community... it drains me. So many hateful messages those people cannot leave no impact.
Developers, please, say you have any plan to reduce such toxicity, it becomes overwhelming and ruining the game expirience..
It's not just this game, its almost every online multiplayer game. You have the option to disable the chat window and never see them again. I actually love seeing all the salty comments. It makes me laugh that people take this video so seriously, as if it is going to change their life somehow. I don't even argue with them, I just respond ggez over and over. It causes their comments to get more colorful. It's funny how 4 letters can cause people to rage.

If that is the case then it is fine to say that:
- Camping isn't the problem, Survivors lack of ability to loop the Killer and not get caught is the problem
- Tunneling isn't the problem, Survivors lack of ability to hide after getting unhooked is the problem
- Iridescent Heads aren't the problem, Survivors lack of ability to dodge the hatchet is.
The Killers job is to kill the Survivor. There is no rule in the game that states that Killers must hook each and every survivor 3 times to win. Neither side has the right to dictate how the other plays.

If instant downs should not be a thing, then second-chance perks should not be a thing. They all feel cheap.
I agree. The problem is that the game will have to change some things from the ground up. Billy and Bubba will have to be reworked and the devs would have to introduce new and interesting perks. So we are kinda just stuck with what we have.

so dumb, so if you get knocked by an iridescent head as an example early in the game that's it ? you're not getting saved ? that ruins the fun in the game, facecampers need to actually get their life togther, sitting there watching someone slowly die is not fun so why do it ?
Camping isn't the problem in this situation, its the iridescent head that is over powered and needs to be changed. Thankfully, one of the Devs have mentioned that they may be looking to change it and maybe give it a range requirement. I'm of the opinion that instant downs shouldn't be a thing, since they all feel cheap and worse than camping.

This is the first time I'm experiencing this horrible matchmaking (I play on xbox) so I've let some steam off on here like most ppl do...
I don't care if they camp their just not good at the game and it can be because as you said the toxic survivors, but also because they dont take the time to learn killer. What I don't like is when they camp and then hit the survivor who just came off and the unhooked survivor had no chance to do anything. Once you get unhooked you are forced to stand there and take that hit and then get hooked again. If you cant see why thats not fun nor fair then you must be bias. Only counter to that is if the teammates brought BT and maybe DS. Other than that your forced to have a bs match.
I know what I am doing as a survivor and everyone who plays survivor gets caught (not every game)... I dont care if I survive or not, I just want to play and not sit on a hook the whole game... also playing solo and with the terrble matchmaking we currently have, you get teammates who have no clue what their doing so odds are Im dying on that first hook... not fun
I never said that it was fun to be camped. I agree that it’s not fun, but it does have counters (Unless it’s Leatherface). The Killer doesn’t owe you a fun game, the onus is on you to make it fun for yourself.
Im horrible at looping Killers, and when I get caught, I get aggravated as well, but I’m not going to rage at the Killer. It’s my fault that I didn’t buy my team much time to do gens. It’s also aggravating that Survivors rush the hook and just hide around it when they see the Camper. Instead they should just rush gens. If more Survivors rushed gens when a Killers camp, the less you will see campers.
Right now, camping is an option for Killers because Survivors keep feeding them.

Honestly that sounds so stupid... yes I will just hang here my whole game because that is so much fun...
Seriously they need to do something about that... along with their terrible matchmaking...
They’re working on matchmaking, they have repeatedly stated that.
As for camping, don’t blame the Devs, blame the Survivors who would abuse any mechanics that would discourage camping.
You also have the option of getting nag better at the game and do your best to not get caught. Isn’t that the point of the game?
-
@Peanits said:
Struggling on the hook is not taking the game hostage, first of all. It's only considered to be holding the game hostage when it's indefinite or for an extended period of time. The longest you can stay on a hook is 2 minutes (+34 seconds if you happen to have Camaraderie).
Beyond that, nobody is allowed to take the game hostage. Whether that's survivors crouching around in corners refusing to touch generators to drag on the game for half an hour or a killer blocking someone in the corner and refusing to kill them, it's reportable either way.
Lets say I sneak up on a sexy shirtless David in a room with only one way out, its okay to hold him there for like 30 seconds to make him twerk for me, right?

Stay on topic please..this is not a mori thread
Sorry about that.

@EvanRaven said:
How are moris broken? Would you rather just die the same way every game by getting hooked? If the killer has a mori, play it stealthy. If killer comes to your gen, don't run obnoxiously and leave scratch marks. Crouch or walk away and hide.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1259350#Comment_1259350
Someone getting moried is the equivalent of someone dying, they don't ruin games. If you want to complain about moris, then complain about devour hope. If you get really dumb survivors that do no generators you can easily wipe out a team by mori-ing them.
- A Mori can completely take a Survivor out of the game after 1 hook, ruining the match for that one player along with making it much more difficult for the rest of their team since they're going to be down a person for the rest of the match. Normally, a Survivor is supposed to die on third hook, most Killers who bring in a Mori just tunnel off the first hook to make the game easier for themselves. Game is designed for 3 hooks = death, not one hook and you're dead. It also prevents the teammates from attempting to save the person about to get Killed, rendering flashlights and toolboxes useless.
- Devour Hope isn't the same as Moris. Devour has a counter that can completely remove it from the match, Moris do not, and the Killer has to hook multiple people for it to work.
Moris do ruin games. If you were honest, you would admit that their sole purpose is to make it easier for the Killer and more difficult for the Survivors. Its why I now run Plunderers these days. Most Mori users just proxy camp and tunnel while there are still 4-5 gens because they're lazy or bad, with Plunderers, I have a good chance to find a Key or Map and just avoid the Killer for the whole match.
You say that the Survivors can just play more stealthily, but I would bet if you faced that, and couldn't find anyone for 30 minutes, you'd lose you're sh*t. The game would get boring fast because there would be no interaction between the two sides. Heck, if I wanted to hide, I can just go sit in the basement, which is the last place most Killers would check.
-
This is why when I want to play Killer for fun I pick Trapper with the red add-on that causes damage to a survivor who disarms a trap.
They end up being hurt the whole match and become to scared to go near any vaulting location. It’s delicious.
I faced a group the other day. They knew how to abuse every loop in the meat plant, flashlight save every time I picked up someone, and t-bag in the distance, then snap! Down to the basement you go! Ahhhhh! Iron Maiden working as intended, here’s another to the basement. And it snowballed to a 4K because SWF usually do what ever they can to save a teammate and stop rushing gens.
Devs will never remove SWF, I suggest you play killers that have good snowball potential or master the headache inducing Nurse.

I've heard that a few times without paying attention to it why would anyone bother with the mori if they're dead on the next hook anyways.
Moris are over powered. They should have never made it into the game. Yes, the animation is cool but it completely ruins the game for Survivors, just like how keys ruin it for Killers.
Both need to be nerfed.
As far as Moris working after 2nd hook, it will counter DS since you won’t have to pick them up and walk them to a hook anymore.

Survivors should be able to see what killer and what addons they're bringing as well.
I disagree with that. Add-ons are not the same as items, they're too intertwined with perks. There shouldn't be any hidden offerings though, Survivors should know when they're going to go up against a sweaty red mori.
As for the names, Killers shouldn't know it, they have no reason to until the end of the match. It will also prevent stream sniping by hiding the name at the beginning.

It's ONLY a buff for solo survivors. Swf is already knowing all informations.
A buff that isn't needed. Why does solo deserve a buff? They already have Detectives Hunch, Small Game and Maps. If they want a counter as well, then it should be a perk.
Why do Solo Survivors deserve this buff, and yet Killers shouldn't get a similar buff that would let them know if DS or BT is active on a survivor?

Damn the bias with this one is pretty strong.
Explain to me how I am biased and counter my points without name calling.
The Devs do not balance around SWF, they balance around Solo. The mechanics a player has as Solo is plenty, there is no need for buffs or nerfs. What is needed is a better ranking and matchmaking system. The number one issue that Solo has is competent and experienced players are being matched up with potato bushes.
Many solo players don't want to play SWF and thats fine, it's their choice, but they shouldn't ask for buffs when they have available avenues already implemented in the game that they could pursue.

Errrr you have totem counters.... Detective Hunch, Small Game, Maps.....
They don't want to give up a perk slot to counter a Killers perk, they want it built in so they can make the game easier for themselves. Rather than get good at the game, they ask for it to be made easier.

It isn't a nerf to killer hex perks, hell how it is a nerf?
Half of the killer hex perk give you a notification:
Ruin: Tap a gen so you can know if the killer has ruin or not
Devour Hope: If the killer makes it to 3rd stack you get a notification
Lullaby: Hit a skillcheck and you get a notification
Thirdseal: Get hit
Thrill of the hunt: Touch a totem
Haunted Grounds: if there's 2 lit totems there's a high chance the killer is using it
So I dont see how it is a nerf to hex perks, and why is it bad? swf already has a totem counter, why solos can't? we're just trying to close the gap between solos and swf so killers can get a good buff and the game be balanced, so it is a win-win.
The fun fact is that killers can see who have DS: If there's a obsession.
How do you know the killer is using noed? you can't.
Just only imagine solo survivor, the weakest role in DBD, how dare those devs buff solo survivors!!!
And i'll repeat it again, a totem counter doesn't remove N.O.T.H.I.N.G, it is just a simply buff for survivors so you dont have to run trough the whole map to be sure other surv didn't touch the totem, and 1s on this game is gold, now imagine walking trough the map how much time it is wasted there.
Crazy, how dare this devs add something to the game swf already has!!!
The game is balanced around Solo Survivors, not SWF. Every Survivor asking the Devs to close the gap between Solo and SWF are basically asking for the game to be made easier.
A built in totem counter is a nerf to all Hex perks except Haunted Grounds. Survivors are not supposed to be certain that they have cleansed all totems, they're supposed to be kept on their toes throughout the match. Again, it is the same in regards to Killers, they are not supposed to know if the Survivor has DS or BT active. You wouldn't be okay with the Developers making Survivors glow a bright pink when those perks are active, because it takes away the uncertainty, just as a totem counter would take away the uncertainty from totems. So yes, a totem counter does a lot, as you said in your last paragraph, it is a buff for Survivors, one that they don't deserve since Hex perks all have counters. You just don't want to give up a slot to counter a killers slot.
If you want a totem counter, it shouldn't be baseline, it should be an independent perk. Give up a perk to counter a perk.
-
@ALostPuppy said:
Well the only issue I have with NOED is that it's cheap and comes out of nowhere, and survivors have no idea it's coming, or if all the totems have even been cleansed. All we need for killers and survivors is a totem counter and that would be a good enough change for almost everyone.
A totem counter removes the uncertainty from Hex perks, if you include a counter for survivors, then Killers should be able to see when DS and BT are active on a Survivor. So no, it wouldn't be good for everyone, it would just be a buff to Survivors and a nerf to Killers who uses Hex perks.
-
Moris are one of the few things Killers have to use against well coordinated swf death squads. I agree that they need to be changed, but it should still be useful, like allows the Killer to kill up to two people when all gens are complete, a situation where Survivors love to abuse DS.

I agree that the POV of Hag makes that map aggravating, but if you’re doing your job by applying gen pressure by constantly laying traps, you can give them hell. With how dark it is, along with all the foliage, it would be hard for people to see the traps as well.
-
Many good Huntresses and Demodoggies have given me some very impressive matches. They would 4ks us and no one was salty in chat because of how good they really were.
I had one really good Freddy that made the match interesting by never teleporting to gens unless he was in a chase and it was to cut us off. He would just spam the teleport to scare us and run into us from the other direction.
-
You get BBQ from Leatherface. He really only shines when you camp with him. If you were lucky to get it from the Shrine (I'm still praying for it to appear), you shouldn't get him until after his rework. Word is he is one of the next Killers on the chopping block.
Demodoggy is Jack of All Trades, Master of None. You have to play him a certain way to really be effective and that involves good portal placements and map pressure. He's funny when you equip Mad grit and run around with a Survivor on your shoulder.
Meyers can be easily looped by most good Survivors. You have to be really good at stealth, but his jump scares are worth all the effort.
Pig is on the weaker side, but if you master her, and with the right perks, she can really slow down the match.
Just watch some game play videos and see which one you think you like best.

Before the update, 90% of the complains was from killers, right now it is pretty even when you check the forum.
It is a little bit silly that killer mains still complain after this update... when free wins are now served on silver tablet to them. The only reasonable complain as a killer right now is that the game is to easy, but most who come here are the weaklings and for them, the game cant be easy enough.
Before the update, the most common complaints (Except for right before and right after the Ruin Patch) were from Survivors crying about tunneling, camping, moris, and NoEd. Those complaints have flooded this forum even before the Ruin nerf.
Moris are the only legitimate complaint, I still don't know what the Devs were on when they thought it was a good idea.
Everything else they complain about can all be remedied by getting better at the game. They either don't want to or won't admit that they aren't skilled enough to.
Camping can be countered by learning the map layouts and mastering looping. If the Killer can't catch you, they can't camp you. You also have perks such as Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike that can be used with good teamwork. Barring Bubba, camping isn't an issue. It isn't the Killers fault if you're bad and can't prolong a chase for more than 5 seconds.
Tunneling can be countered by, once again, learning how to loop better. If you waste too much of the Killers time, you become a less desirable target. If the Killer wastes the match chasing you, you succeeded in letting your teammates win. Your teammates can also interfere by body blocking, giving you a chance to break the chase and sneak away. Decisive Strike can also help.
The game has always been Survivor sided. The reason why many are crying is because the Devs are finally balancing things to be fair for both sides and the Survivors don't want to adapt. They want to always have their DS ready for EGC so they can get EZ 4 escapes.
What did Survivors reply when Killer mains complained? Git Gud, Apply Pressure! Well, now Survivors can take their own advice.
-
I prefer hiding since I'm bad at looping. But that doesn't mean I will hide when my teammates need help. As long as the randoms I am with are competent, I will body block, run in front of the Killer in order to prevent them from tunneling, sabotage hooks if I have a tool box, unhook even if it means I will die.
If they're a bunch of potatoes, I become one with the bush and will search out the hatch.
-
I say ggwp to all non-toxic opponents, no matter what side I play. I get more frustrated when I lose as a Killer than I do when I lose as a Survivor, but even then, I'll say gg as long as everyone played well.
Heck, sometimes, when I feel it's not a SWF and someone takes me on a world tour of the map, I'll only two hook them (if I can) and let them escape for the fun time, as long as they're not clicky clicky while t-bagging or pointing during the whole time.
If you're toxic, and tunnel from the start, hit me while I'm on hook, camp from 4-5 gens, and I somehow escape, I'll say usually won't wait to see the result of the match.
If I see any salt in chat, I will say ggez.
If I die on hook because my teammates turned into potatoes that are growing in bushes across the map, I just move on to the next match while praying their next poop is painful.
-
They will never nerf SWF. People want to play with their friends, if they can't they will find another game and leave this game. No Devs would want that. If SWFs are too difficult for you, I suggest you master the Top Killers (Billy, Nurse, Spirit and Freddy) and then you will be on the train to ez town.
-
Kindred counters camping, once hooked your teammates can watch the Killer and see if they leave.
Camping is also countered by learning the maps better and being good at looping the Killer. The longer you waste the Killers time, the more time your team has to rush the gens. It's your fault if you go down in 5 seconds.
You are not entitled to get an escape, nor are your teammates entitled to save you. It's obvious if the Killer is camping the basement, but most survivors flock to the hook like moths to the flame.
NoEd is countered by doing totems and counting to 5, Detectives Hunch, Small Game and Maps. You don't even have to cleanse all the totems, just remember where the totems are and cleanse it when one of them lights up.
If NoEd Procs and your team dies to a camping player in Endgame, that is totally on your team. They should have left you and escaped.

As for the topic, the only toxicity I have recieved from Killers is tunneling, camping, hitting my body while I'm hooked, taking me to hatch and closing it in my face or letting me bleed out.
When I play Killer, it's a whole different ballgame, I get name called, have people wish my mother would get the coronavirus, wished for me to get cancer, wished for me to die, ordered me to go commit suicide, threaten my well being, asked for my phone number in order to harass me, raged because my Steam Profile is private, basically begged me to get on discord with them so they could show me whose boss, the insults and threats from Survivors is endless.
I just finished a match where I never tunneled or camped, and had someone threaten me and say they'll remember my screen name.

oh, no, i DO get the point, but removing infinites and giving killers a chance to actually patrol generators before they pop is certainly not a bad thing. Does it make the survivors job harder? yes. Is that a bad thing? no, why? because the changes are fair and just.
A lot of people on here don't want a fair and just game. They want a punching bag that they can abuse.

Map size was a problem before ruin even existed so you're wrong on that.
This patch however only made the problems worse, bad killers are now fine on the new maps but this also made good killers with movement bonus god-tier and way unbalanced making the game even more skewed towards killers.
It is no wonder deathgarden is a dead game tbh.
I didn't specifically mention map size, maps as a whole were unbalanced and the devs have finally gotten to making them more balanced.
I do agree with you on the good killers needing to be looked at. Billy/Spirit are going to be very unfun to go against. Freddy is boring/annoying no matter what.
This isn't the death of Dbd, Killers said the same thing about the Ruin patch, this is no different, only its Survivor mains crying.

Lets say that is true (noed gets more complaints).
Devs still arent doing anything about it, so yeah you just proved OP's point.
No, my comment just proves that the Devs are balancing the game to be fair to both sides. Killers were being balanced in favor of making it more enjoyable for Survivors when they butchered Ruin. Well, the result of that was fast games and lots of escapes, which led to the Developers decision to balance the maps. Cause and effect. These changes aren't meant to "favor" anyone, they're meant to make it enjoyable to both sides as possible. Tell me, did Killers enjoy getting looped on indefinite loops that they could do nothing about? Infinites should have never been in the game in the first place. Why should loops favor only one side? Survivors already have the advantage with pallets and fast vaults, while Killers get slowed down when they vault and break pallets. Both sides also have the option to outplay one another with mind games.
This thread is just a complaint about complaining.

You can just say that Survivors should be better prepared in case they’re the first to be spotted and need to be better at looping and wasting the Killers time. Not the Killers fault that people Can’t last 5 seconds into a chase.

The difference is that finishing gens are the objective of survivors. Killers choose to camp or tunnel because they are either weak or not good at all.
The objective of killers is to kill. Camping and tunneling accomplishes that.
The counter for tunneling and camping is to actually “git gud” at chases and waste as much of the killers time as possible.
