  • So basically, what you're saying is what Survivors have told killers to do when they complained about the nerf to Ruin, which is, Git Gud or Apply Pressure?

As far as complaints, there are far more threads posted by Survivors complaining about NoEd (One of the easiest things to counter in the game), tunneling and camping, than there are about Killers complaining.

  • It's about 50/50 for me. I will be the first to admit that I am pretty bad at this game but some of the solo survivors that I get matched with are something else. It is a breath of fresh air when I get a competent team.

Problem is, when I get matched with really good teammates, I always try to sacrifice myself for whoever looped the Killer the most, so I usually end up trading places with them on the hook during egc and suicide so they don't try to save me and get out. I have all the characters that I want leveled up, as things are now, blood points aren't that important to me so I don't mind dying.

  • I think this could work for those on second hook stage. On death hook, mori should have 100% success rate.

  • I think there should be a range requirement to it. As things are now, I see lots of Huntresses just running up to the survivor and throwing them at blank range.

  • @THEFREAK420 said:

Because alot of the people that play are entitled little brats that think anything that prevents them from winning every match isnt "Fair" and has to be nerfed or removed. Because they cant handle losing. Thats why theyre on here every day crying about Mori's & NOED, tunneling & camping. Freddy & any other killer they dont like going against.. Before that it was Ruin.

Tunneling and camping is a problem when it is done at the start of a match. I don't think the Devs could do anything about it without butchering Killers so there is really not much use in complaining.

I agree with you on the rest.

  • The goal for the nerf was to give killers a chance to make it across the map at the start of a match before Survivors can finish a gen. It wasn’t to nerf over all gen speed.

I noticed you're very pro survival based, which is fine, but like I see alot of posts from you where you'll go out of your way to mock anything that relates to killer issues. you'll always demonize it or underplay it as a way to support pro survival propaganda and always use the spoiled survival argument of "killers tunnel and camp" with no real argument to add. Just my observation.

I'm 99% sure he is a Master Baiter, best to pass his comment when you see his user name.

I had a match where I killed three and a Nea had evidently found the hatch because notifications were blasting off (hopping back and forth on a pallet). I told her to just exit and asked why the BM. She didn't, so I told her I wasn't coming and that I promise she can leave without the killer watching. Three minutes later, she realized I wasn't lying and decided to exit.

I don't even go to exit gates anymore, screw them, they're not getting that idiotic satisfaction.

That's why you go face a corner in the basement and tabbed out. They enjoy wasting your time, don't let them. This way, you're wasting their time because they would be BMing nothing since you wouldn't be there.

Hopefully, the new map changes will help make things a bit more fair and Survivors wouldn't be as confident as they are now. I doubt it, but let me have my delusions.

Also, play Make your Choice and Devour Hope and just camp the toxic turds from a distance. If I manage to get a BMing flashlight clicker hooked, I just place all my ten traps around them and wait far enough for MYC to proc and bam, instadown for the rescuer.

Another Option is to enjoy Insidious Basement Bubba. Just hide near a gen and pop out once they get close. Iron Grasp is good for yanking them to the basement.

As much as I like and appreciate that, I hate to say they won't stop. They haven't for years, why would they now? Don't fool yourself.

Sometimes the survivors really are a lot of fun and we have good games, but most often they're not anymore. I sincerely hope this upcoming patch (whenever it finally goes live) will be a saving grace and bring more enjoyment back to the game than grief.

When ever you get faced with a toxic group I recommend that you just don't play into their hands. The second you sense any toxicity from them just stop chase and let them rush the gens and open the doors for them. They take pleasure in looping you while trying to aggravate you as much as possible so just walk to the basement and alt+tab to YouTube.

This Trapper ouffit is the best he has.

I do not mind dying to this at all.

I've died to this Trapper many times and I do not care.

I agree, it's my favorite costume of his. I would like the devs to give us a new costume of him before the spikes and corruption (His art work made in the archives makes him seem to be very attractive). Just a shirtless version with a clean mask, revealing his muscley goodness for survivors to gawk at.

  • The problem is that the game isn't really well balanced. Not everyone wants to play the top three (Billy, Spirit, Freddy) or the Queen (Nurse who is difficult to play well with), so they lack any decent mobility. Some Killers like Clown, Legion or Wraith Kind of have to tunnel someone because it would be very very difficult to 3 hook 4 survivors while also patrolling generators. If the match is down to two generators and the Killer sees someone recently unhooked, should they let them go and not attempt to kill them, risking a 4 man escape?

I agree that tunneling and camping sucks, but a lot of it rests on game design. Just look at streamers who play Killer. Many times they end up tunneling and slugging because they have to. What this game needs is an overhaul from the ground up, with the Developers having a clear goal on what they want to be and how it should be balanced. I don't think it'll happen because too many people will be upset that something they've gotten attached to has been changed. Just look how angry Killers got with the Ruin change.

Now, for people who tunnel and camp when they still have 3 or more gens, there is no excuse, they're scum that are looking to make people as miserable as they are.

Insidious Basement Bubbas get a pass if they waited patiently for their prey to approach the basement chest.

  • After I get a slew of awful Survivor games where killers are being bullies to a bunch or randos or where my teammates are being overly aggressive, I hop on Killer to relax and just chase people around. Once I two hook each of them I then just chase them without hitting them. Many times the survivors are shocked and then start twerking for me, I motion for them to finish gens and let them go.

Unless you blind me with a flashlight, then I don't care how cute or perky your little tush is, I will kill you. Also, if throughout the match you let someone get to second stage even though I'm on the other side of the map, you die.

If I have an inkling that you're a swf, I play seriously. I may be bad, but I know how to make swf tweens nerd rage so it's all good.

ALL the updates are healthy for the game? I can think of some patches they reverted or released another patch to try to undo the previous. I get your point people complain too much but lets not pretend these devs know their own game.

I think the problem was that the Devs never had a clear vision for the game when they first came out with it. Then it exploded to be a bigger monster than they expected and find that it would be too difficult to change things that were a part of the game since the beginning.

Farming entails actually surviving.. and again you completely ignore the point of the argument. You killers constantly say "If you don't like it, run this.. or do that".. but when we do, were using "Meta perks" and you complain about it. But alas you killer mains only see what you want to see and only care about yourselves.

I survive plenty and I don't play with meta perks at all. I run Self-Care, Urban Evasion, Spine Chill, and Plunderers, and I do well. I don't Survive every game, but I have fun and do my best to save my teammates. Plunderers has let me escape many times by letting me find a key, it has also let me cleanse many NoEds and Devours since I find a Map in almost every other match.

FYI, I only play Killer for Dailies or when I get super bored of Survivor. 95% of my games are as Survivor, so you're wrong with your assumption. Also, isn't what you claim Killers do done by the majority of Survivors? How many complaints were there about the Ruin nerf? What did Survivors say? Apply Pressure or Git Gud. Now that more and more Killers are applying pressure in endgame by bringing in NoEd and Slugging builds its too much?

Where did I complain about you using Meta Perks, you're free to choose whatever perk you want, just don't complain about a Killers very commonly used perk when you refuse to counter it. Don't forget it has multiple easy counters! You don't even need to change perks or bring in a map, you can just count to five!

Instead of accusing me of being a Killer main and being selfish, who about you be honest and admit that everyone who is complaining about NoEd is only complaining because they want the game made easier.

  • You can't see your slugged or hooked teammates from a distance. It buys the Killer time because Survivors either bleed out or waste time looking for each other. Kind of like how Knock Out works.

  • @Ivaldi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234845#Comment_1234845

You need 1 perk slot to counter tunneling, you need 1 perk slot to counter camping, you need 1 perk slot to counter slugging, you need 1-2 perk slot to run the killer.. and now we need another perk slot to find totems? You killers hate "Survivor Meta Perks", but you give us no choice but to run them due to your playstyle..

This is a team game, with the option of playing selfish and being solo. You only need 1 perk slot out of 16 slots to counter a Killers 1 perk slot out of 4. All your statement reveals is that you don't want to give up any of your meta crutch perks to counter 1 Killer perk that is now widely used.

You also have the option to not use any perks and bring in a map. If maps are too expensive for you, farm them with Plunderers.

I am not a Killer main, about 95% of my games are as Survivor. If I play as Killer I don't play seriously and don't care if I only get one Kill. I just don't want the game dumbed down any more than it is. I am actually a total potato and am terrible at running the Killer, but I enjoy the risk of getting in the match, knowing that I have to be careful or I'll die. The game needs to have uncertainties to fell this way, removing them will just dull the game further.

  • @gatsby said:

If I'm not being camped and my teammates let me go struggle, my hand is off the mouse. GG go next

If I play Killer and this happens while I am chasing someone I will drop the chase so they can rescue and tunnel out the other teammate who isn't rescuing. Then Ill let everyone else survive the match.

As a Survivor, I have started to just not care and move on to the next match. If that gen is more important or if you're too scared, that's fine, you can stay with you are and I'll go on to the next match, hopefully full of shirtless Davids.

  • Of all the strong perks to complain about, Unbreakable isn't one of them. Killers are not entitled to 4k (Nor are Survivors entitled to escape). You Slug someone, you risk them getting up. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing it get buffed to where it allows you to pick yourself up twice in one match from how often Slugging is abused and how some are taking it to the extreme and just let Survivors bleed out just to be toxic.

Good luck finding all the totems on the indoor maps, or a map like springwood. Good way to waste 3-4+ minutes without a dedicated totem hunting build which will be useless 9/10 games because you don't see NOED too often at high ranks.

Killers will always make excuses for this perk. And I main killer, I know it's BS and I don't even try to deny it.

I see a hex perk in almost every match. Many Killers have started to use Devour Hope a lot, and lot of Cowboys are using Third Seal. NoEd is on almost every other Killer I face. So no, giving up 1 Perk slot to counter a Killers 1 perk slot isn't useless.

  • @Shocktober said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/146612/can-all-totems-be-hidden-like-this

Yes, make every totem impossible to find without running dedicated totem hunting builds which allow the killer to freely camp and tunnel you.

You don't need a dedicated totem build to find totems. You only need to give up one perk slot to counter a killers perk slot. Actually, you don't even need to do that, you can bring in a map.

  • I think it should only work on weaker killers like clown but yea, if maps are really getting more balanced, Blood Lust isn't needed. But better to wait and see the reworks before asking for its removal.

She is a very powerful killer, much stronger than most people think. People just don't realize that because she is one of the least played killers.

Corrupt Intervention is a must have for her. You need time to set up your traps.

M&A can make her terror radious very small, makes it easier to get the first hits. I would recommend using it.

One of the most important things to know while playing as her is knowing when to stop chasing someone. You shouldn't try to chase someone if they are at a good loop since you are really slow. You should mostly rely on your traps so don't try to chase normally.

I didn't think of using M&A on her, thanks for the tip.

  • It is sad that matchmaking has been like this since before I started playing this game, which was October. I've seen YouTube videos of matchmaking being this bad over a year ago.

  • Trolls aren't even trying at this point

  • I play 95% Survivor, and with the shut down due to the Virus, I have been playing a lot. I may see 1-2 moris a day unless there is a daily for Killers to murder a Survivor for 60K blood points.

I see tunneling killers more than anything else.

No, I don't want the game to be easier. I want an appropriate build up or effort for such a substantial reward. I want this poor excuse of a meta perk to be brought in line with the REST of the Exposed effects and perks. I WANT my idiot teammates to put in half the effort I do without using Small Game or Detective's Hunch by the way into cleansing totems and stopping the potential use of this perk.

I play killer a lot more lately, because of rank reset errors and I never look at using this perk. Even on what can be considered "weaker" killers, since I am a Pig main after all, and you know why I don't use NoED? Because I will get my two hits and get them, or they escape because they outplayed me. I take the loss and I move on. I'll use a perk that will help me all game, and if that doesn't help, my skills aren't up to par and the survivors do their job, then they can escape. They earned it.

Kills are not everything. It's time the killer community realise that too.

When you're ready to have a civilised conversation rather than insulting me based on assumptions, you know where to find me.

Nowhere in my post is an insult directed at you. You just don't want to admit that you want NoEd nerfed to give you an easier time. A Killer playing with 3 perks for the majority of the match is a lot of effort when going up Survivors 16 perks. Especially since Survivors can dictate whether or not the power activates.

Your refusal of you or one of your teammates to use 1 perk slot out of 16 to counter a Killers 1 perk slot out of 4 is enough proof that you don't want a challenging game. Why is it so much to ask for any of you to change one of your perks? Because you all rely on the same crutch meta perks and refuse to change. That isn't a Killer problem nor is it a game problem, it is a player problem. Detectives Hutch and Small Game will help you all game. It will make the game less uncertain because you would know that you got all the totems. Heck, you can run plunderers or spend blood points to stock up on maps and not give up your precious perk slot. I did that and I have over 20 maps just playing in the last week.

Surviving isn't everything, you and your teammates are not entitled to escape if you finish the generators. The match isn't over until the doors are open and you have crossed the threshold.

When you're ready to be honest about wanting the game made easier because you don't want to give up a perk to counter a perk (even though maps are a thing), you know where to find me.

  • Its basically more of a PG version of Dbd, I'm not against it, it targets a different demographic than Dbd does.

The traditional fast-food burgers from Wendy's, Burger King, and McDonald's make me sick, literally. My stomach doesn't agree with them and I've found much better options 😅

We have a Culver's here, they are actually pretty good. I used to like eating their fish sandwich a lot and I remember that their fries and onion rings were really good too.

As far as best burger, I had to stop eating a lot of meat due to finding out how animals are treated during the slaughtering process. I now only eat halal meat which is the Islamic equivalent to Kosher. We have a few local butchers who have their own small farms and slaughter the animals themselves. The animals are treated better so I just buy the meat and cook at home. One thing that I think is great on a burger is Laughing Cow cheese. It is surprisingly tasty, you just need to let the cheese sit out so it could soften and be easier to spread.

I never expect a match to go the way I want, and I've been against NoED for a long time. I've highlighted how it's a bad perk and how to fix it to make it still powerful but not as frustrating.

I play Dead by Daylight for a challenge and because it is fun. NoED spits in the face of all that. There is no challenge, there is no fun. There is only death and suffering.

You say you want a challenge and yet you complain about NoEd when its counters are easy to use. It isn't a bad perk, it has a huge weakness for a huge payload. It is only 5 totems, you get a challenge by searching for them while avoiding the Killer and completing generators. The challenge is made easier by using easy to access perks or using an item. You also have the option to go straight for one of the doors and leave, though most Survivors feel entitled in ensuring that everyone escapes, which leads to more deaths.

You don't want a challenge, you and everyone else who complains about NoEd want the game made easier.

Like what? I've binged them for a decade and a half. Occasionally I like to play a bit of Dead by Daylight for something different.

And Borderlands 3 is pretty abysmal in terms of story, but the DLC is improving on that. Only slightly though. Kinda telling of the single-player market lately.

My point was you can't expect to play online multiplayer games and have all matches go the way you want. The problem isn't NoEd, it isn't the Killer using NoEd, it isn't an issue with finding or cleaning totems (since they have plenty of ways to be found), the problem is your teammates. Nothing needs to change except for people taking a bit more responsibility.

I never get mad at the Killer for using NoEd, I get mad at my lovely group of Randoms who don't cleans totems.I also get mad at them when they try to save me while NoEd is active. Either look for the totem or leave out the gate. No one is entitled to escaping, if more survivors left or if more survivors brought in a map/small game/ detectives hunch and cleansed totems, less and less killers would use NoEd.

You would think that with the amount of complaints about NoEd, people would use the counters that are provided, but they wont. Instead they want to stick to the meta.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1231119#Comment_1231119

Yeah, uh, it isn't an issue of counters being unavailable it's that some of us do what is require, others don't and those that do suffer for it.

Maybe stop using baby's first crutch perk and the complaints will end.

Well, if you don't like suffering due to your teams ineptitude, perhaps you can go try a single player game.

  • I’ve made over 10 millions bloodpoints playing Survivor over the last month. Sure, if you’re great at killer and have BBQ, you can make more that I did, but the stress that goes along with playing against Survivors is not worth it to me. I now play Killers for Dailies and when I do I don’t play seriously. It’s more enjoyable that way.

That's an awfully big blanket statement, and those don't tend to help anyone.

Yes, sometimes people just don't bother cleansing the totems in spite of the match going very well and then get hit by NOED. That's not all matches, though. There are times when the match is really close and they simply don't have time to go look for all the totems. Especially when you've got someone using a strong killer with 3 slowdown/regression perks on a map with very well hidden totems, stopping to go find all five totems is easier said than done and would probably do more harm than good.

To dismiss them all as lazy is a pretty lazy excuse.

They don't have to do all 5 totems when the match is close. They can simply bring in a map or replace one of their perks with Small Game and Detectives Hunch and look for the glowing totem when the generators are completed. I agree that not all Survivors are lazy, but the ones asking for a nerf to NoEd or for a totem counter are.

  • I like the idea of passives, it would just be difficult to make them equally attractive in order to have a variety of Survivors during matches.

I would take a look at instant-down killers as a whole. To me, it just feels cheap that the killer just has to stare at you in order to down you once or in the case of Billy, Zoom zoom up to you and insta-saw you down.

    Tried of NoEd?

    Just Cleanse Totems

    Can't find totems?

Don't want to bring in Detectives Hunch?

    Bring in Small Game

Don't want to counter the Killers Perk with your own Perk?

    Bring in a Map.

Everyone who is complaining about NoEd are just lazy or too dependant on their crutch perks and don't want to give up a perk slot to counter it. Saying it takes too long to find the totem is a cop out because you can just search for the totem after it activates. It's not that hard, not that time consuming, especially if you bring in the proper counter to totems.

If the Killer is pressuring you guys throughout the map and makes it seem as you don't have time for totems, then I would argue that your group wasn't very good and it wouldn't matter if they had NoEd.

  • If you feel like you have to tunnel, then tunnel. Don't let people dictate how you should play.

As for my opinion, since you play Wraith, who is one of the weaker Killers who can be looped pretty easily by a competent Survivor, you should drop chases that take more than 25 seconds and patrol gens and look for the weakest link. Your add-ons matter greatly with Wraith as well. You should use the one that increases your speed while cloaked, that way you can cloak in a chase and body block the Survivor and uncloak in front of them. It will also help you have better map pressure.

Another add-on is the bone clapper which makes it so the Survivors can't tell where you're at when you uncloak. It is best to get close to the target, hide behind an object and then lunge at them. He also has a wall hack add-on if you struggle with mind gaming loops.

As for perks, if you're struggling downing people, but don't want to tunnel, Make Your Choice is a good one. It causes an unhooker to be exposed for a certain amount of time, as long as you are a certain distance from the hook when the rescue is performed.

Sorry "pressured" a better word for you? Their are plenty of people who end up grouping with people because of the huge advantages swf have. If the game wasn't designed for communication they sure send mixed signals coming out with SWF literally a few weeks after release. Not all killers just play sweaty because they want too its the state the game is in with gen speed and nothing motivating people into secondary objectives.

It's not as if a counter magically tells survivors where the totems are it doesn't mean they are going to even find it before dying. Not sure how doing 5 totems is relaxing considering the amount of time that gets added to the game searching for totems. Obviously you have a more cynical view on this so we'll have to agree to disagree.

Again, the only reason you want the counter isn't because of "balance" it is because you want the game to be easier. You start the match, watch that counter hit 5 and its smooth sailing to rushing the gens and not worrying about anything else. A counter isn't needed. Especially when you have two perks and an item that can help you find the totem. You and everyone else that is asking for a counter just doesn't want to give up a perk slot to counter the Killers perk slot. I don't think my view is cynical, but yes, we can agree to disagree.
