Yea chaining this tile into empty corn, a harvester, or a useless coldwind tile would be too strong

Exactly. You can only get from this Pallet to another structure to "chain" them if you get hit.

Coldwind is just sad nowadays. They nerfed the Maps heavily, even tho most were fine except for Cowshed and then they added new Tiles to it and removed the good Tiles. But they did not add anything to compensate, so you have stuff like the structure in OP instead of a Longwall or something like that.

They should really add way more Pallets to Coldwind. It is fine if those are not super-safe, but having an unsafe Pallet in the middle of nowhere does not help at all.

  • They probably dont want to deal with this overblown topic, because they think that it is exactly that - overblown.

  • Eh, to be fair, you really only have to play the game to get those Milestone Challenges. Not really a big deal when they require a high amount of Trials.

  • Honestly, I would probably only quit if the Devs make really dumb decisions. Like adding Voice Chat or something like that, then I would immediatly uninstall. Probably also when they heavily start using AI.

  • Yeah, no idea what they were thinking overall. I dont understand them jumping the gun that quickly with the changes, obviously many Survivors will use Fog Vials when they are new, they should have waited a month or two before they changed anything on them (aside from adding charges, this is fine) to see if Killers would still complain after a month when Fog Vials are more rare and the new toy syndrome is gone.

The Devs really spent time and money to develop something and then basically deleting it one week after. And honestly, if I would have worked on them, I would find it frustrating to spend time and effort on something which will not be used. I mean sure, the people who worked on Fog Vials got paid, but it does not really sound fulfilling to create something which then gets thrown into the bin a few days later.

Everything you said is wrong shane is extremely relevant even through the later seasons his significant role in ricks psychological trauma and Judith you do a pole, i think Shane would be slightly more popular than Maggie not negan but is for the reasons I've said he needs to get his shine too they put all those characters in games already they need to let Shane get his moment, if dbd doesn't take their feedback from their fan base for this one damn time that just shows where their loyalty is at if yall ask for something yall are the ones making them money I literally spent almost 200 dollars

Dude, you are one person asking for Shane. Dont act as if your opinion is the most popular one. You can be very sure that the decisions who will be a Legendary Skin will be done by people much smarter than you and me and with analytics instead of personal preference.

  • How do you get the impression that Pig is even in risk of being nerfed?

  • They will probably go with popularity and while I think that Shane is the most popular character in the early seasons, I dont think he is popular overall, since he basically is the first villain and also was not relevant for many seasons afterwards.

And well, I also think that many people dislike him, especially because he is not as iconic as other villians like Negan.

In the end, they decide on who brings more money and I can see more people buying a Maggie-Skin compared to a Shane-Skin.

So if you're in a locker and a Legion hits someone in power they get killer instinct on a survivor in the locker?

Yes, exactly. If you are in a Locker while Legion has Killer Instinct on you, you can just get grabbed out of it. For some reason every Killer releases with some form of Killer Instinct, so stealth is most likely not really an option.

100% agree. I don’t know of any other game that puts such a significant burden on the players for reporting cheaters. A vast majority of players are not recording their games, so that eliminates most opportunities to report cheaters. And then even if you happen to be recording, you have to spend a bunch of time afterwards getting the video onto YouTube, going through the reporting process, etc. It’s completely ridiculous. I don’t understand why it’s so technically impossible for BHVR to auto-detect things that players should not be able to physically do in matches like teleporting, moving way too fast, unlimited DS (a cheat I’ve encountered personally before), etc.

Exactly. And this is why I hope for a Replay-System one day. Aside from it being super-interesting to see your games again, it could also help to report Cheaters (or debunk Cheats). I played World of Tanks for quite a long time and they had a Replay-System where you could either save all your Replays or only the last game you played. Helped to identify why some players were losing games or simply if there were Cheats involved (e.g. one time a player complained that he was shot despite being behind a big rock, funnily the player who was shooting them actually had replays enabled and showed that almost half of the tank was not hidden behind a rock…).

And well, even if you have a recording software, does not mean that you will have it opened fast enough to actually show something. If I played against that Nurse-Bot who just teleported to everyone and hooks them in the basement, I would only be able to record the last part of it (unless I am recording all of my games), and then nobody could tell if it was an actual cheater or just a very bad game for the Survivors.

Regarding auto-detection - in theory, yes, this should also be in the game. Like having a check if a player is too fast for too long or something like that. But I dont trust BHVR with Auto-Detection and even less after they implemented the Go Next-Prevention where people got warned despite not going next. Call me a pessimist, but I would totally expect people getting banned or kicked from games because the system detected they were cheating while they were not.

  • IMO one of the main reasons why Cheaters are not getting reported is because you need to do so much to actually report them. You need to have a way to record your game, you have to grab all information you can, you have to open a Support Ticket, you have to upload the recording on Youtube and then link to it in the Support Ticket. And on top of all of that you have to make sure that you report them ingame.

So lots of work and I can understand that people dont really bother with that. I am not bothering with it anymore after I reported a clear cheater. They had Wallhacks (perfectly mirroring the Killer despite not seeing any red stain), Speedhacks (while the Killer was a Deathslinger and therefore only 110% Speed, he should have still catched up after a while in chase) and then ran straight to the Hatch when it opened. The person I reported did not get banned for months, so since then, I dont bother. If they make it as inconvenient as possible to report Cheaters, I will not go out of my way of doing that. I report them ingame, this takes me a few seconds and thats it.

IMO they need to have a replay-system. It might even be enough to only save the last 5 replays or even the last game played so that people then can upload parts of it to Youtube and dont have to deal with their own software to record. Or simply upload the whole replay-file (which might only be a few KB big) to the Support Ticket.

must be rng because i played 3 games on haddonfield yesterday and only had 2 pallets in the middle

Most likely RNG. Maps can spawn with a random number of Pallets, could be possible that OP had a game with the max amount of pallets which can spawn.

I know you're right about camping being a waste of time usually the only problem is if I go looking for survivors 50m from the hook, can't find anyone and they get a free save and disappear - that's tantamount to losing the game

No, not really. The thing is, hooking someone does not mean that this person has to die on their first Hook. This is not the way the game is meant to be played, if Survivors should not be unhooked and dead on their first Hook, the game would have to be massively different.

The reason you hook a Survivor is to increase your Map Pressure - hooking a Survivor means that at least two Survivors will not be on Gen at this point. One is on the Hook and one needs to get this Survivor. Ideally you are in a chase, which makes 3 Survivors not on Gens. So even if you only see a Survivor in the distance, you should approach them to have those 3 Survivors not on Gens. However, you have to play a Killer who can actually get there quickly, which is why BBQ is not good on any Killer, e.g. you will not really have much success with BBQ on a non-mobility M1-Killer.

If you decide to linger around next to the Hook, this might work out against inexperienced teams, because those tend to stick around the Hook because they somehow think if the Killer was camping for 60 seconds they will totally stop camping the last 10 seconds of the Hook Stage. But once you go against more experienced teams, they will just have 3 people on Gens and you will lose the game.

  • That is something I only just realized when reading this Thread - the Devs really spent Development Time on a new Item with new Add Ons, just to basically delete it one week after it hit the Live Servers.

They could have really spent this time elsewhere.

  • It does not work with Killer Powers:

Step 1 : Boot the game

Step 2 : Play as killer in a public match and use the perk Game Afoot

Step 3 : Initiate chase with the obsession

Step 4 : Break a pallet using your power

Step 5 : Notice you do not gain the Haste status effect when you do so

I suspect all killers with special pallet breaks are affected by this bug, but I only tested it on Nemesis and Bubba, can't be arsed to do the rest. Below you'll find video footage of the phenomenon and my PC log.

PTB would be more attractive if more changes was adjusted to release after it. PTB now feels more like “try buggy thing the first if u can’t wait for your fav char rework or some additions”

PTBs are mainly for the hype nowadays. The thing is, BHVR only has a few days after PTB-Launch to push the Patch to Live, since it takes around 2 weeks for all platforms to launch the Patch. So there are only a few days where feedback can be considered and most of it is basically used for the Hotfixes.

    @Topic:

As I said before, PTBs are mainly for the Hype, so I dont expect that they will change anything. Furthermore the big PTB-size was due to an engine Update, usually PTBs are not as big as they were with the TWD-PTB.

But I agree overall, I think they should do a different approach and offer more PTBs. And one step for that would be to have a separate PTB-Client, which is inactive/not accessible when no PTB is live, but when a PTB is live, players can update it and play the PTB without having to leave the Live Servers. This would also allow it to make PTBs accessible for other platforms aside from Steam.

And it would allow for more PTBs and more testing outside of the regular 6 weeks period you have for Chapters and Midchapters.

It's such an useless item now. I would prefer to get those items removed instead of trashing the bloodweb

Same here. I was happy about them retiring some Map- and Key-Add Ons to declutter the Bloodweb, now we have Fog Vials and their Add Ons which are new Bloodweb Clutter which will barely be used. (Let alone that Keys and Maps did not really become more attractive to use, but this is a different topic..)

  • Yeah, it is sad that they allow Filters. I remember people said they use Reshade to make the game brighter, then we got Gamma-Settings (and you can REALLY brighten up the game with those) and yet people still use Reshade.

And those who claim they do it to make the game look better… This is the same nonsense we had with Stretched Res. People who defended that also said they only used it because it looked better and the game clearly does not look better with Reshade either.

In general, the DBD-Community really has a desire to make the game look as bad as possible just for a small advantage.

  • @TheGoone said:

If the Devs just limited Vial charges in the first place and just allowed stratch marks to be seen in the fog it wouldn't have been so nerfed visibility wise

Also Fog Vials visibility weirdly got thicker or less depending on the map your on

What would be the point if Scratch Marks can be seen in the Fog?

  • @hermitkermit said:

I really don’t understand why the community couldn’t get some time to adjust and learn counterplay for awhile before adjustments were made. Hasn’t that been the insistence with every killer release? I don’t understand why these items are held to a different standard.

Exactly. The same people who usually say that Nerfs happen too quickly and that players have to adapt were those who now wanted the Fog Vials nerfed ASAP. And the Devs really should have waited a few more weeks instead of nerfing them at the first opportunity AND announcing a double-nerf as well. Obviously games would be full of Fog Vials for some time, this is simply new toy syndrome. And as long as the Item is not even close to Medkits or Toolboxes, there is not really a reason to nerf it. Yet they did.

Folks watch content creators doing escape streaks with their comp teams and assume that's what they're seeing in their games too

Yeah, its funny, whenever you show them content creators and how well they do as Killer, the response is often "You cannot compare us to a person who is doing that for a living!"… But then the same person almost never goes against really strong teams, but they want to explain to me that they themselves go against very good 4 mans on a regular basis?

So either they are so good that they are on a special Server where not even the best content creators are playing or they are not entirely honest. (Or they are - because lets be real, if you are a bad player even mediocre players might look extremely good)

I dont know people have gotten really good at the games lately in 2025, your point might have a good standing ground back in 2019-2020 but since then people got upgrades, 144+hz monitors, reshade access, macros, other helping tools i wont name since idk if its allowed to speak about them and i think its unfair for me to say which tools to give even more people access for unfair advantage.

Point is killer does not have any external factor unlike SWFs.

My experience is hell mostly every 2nd or 3rd game i get where its 1 kill and punishing and bullying because i simply dont have ability to harm them across the pallet or through wall unlike some killers.

This comes down to the liability of m1 killers so yeah ill rather not go to the cursed rabbit hole of balancing in this post 🤣

The thing is, 4 good players in an SWF will almost be equally as hard to beat as those 4 good players when playing Solo. People really overestimate the impact of Comms, 99,99% of SWFs dont do any crazy Callouts or anything. I have seen 4 man SWFs who did not even talk about the game while playing (when I faced a Streamer who played with an SWF).

The main strength of SWF is that it filters out bad players. But if you get 4 good players, you will have an almost equally as hard time as facing 4 good players in an SWF.

And since you mention that it is 2025 and not 2019 anymore… Killer has become A LOT better over those years.

  • "I want a chill match" means "I want to go against 4 Solos and have an easy game."…

Most SWFs are totally beatable and not a problem.

Then feel free to use Franklins in every game if they revert it. Totally worth running it over an actual good Perk, trust me!

Most of the time I encounter a Fog Vial as killer it's more like "Oh no, anyway!", and then I continue the chase unimpeded.

This was my experience as well. Most memorable was a game against a Blight where two of my teammates used Fog Vials and how fast they went down was a good indicator that the Blight was not bothered at all by them, lol.

See, now I feel like the reason Streetwise wasn't killswitched was because it was literally about to be fixed

Which would've stopped this ENTIRE uproar if we had just been told that to begin with. Being told "hey, just wait a day and it'll be fixed" is much better than the situation that unfolded yesterday.

Thank you for the quick follow up. It's much appreciated.

Yeah, but even with Streetwise being about to be fixed, they could have still killswitched it way earlier. I dont think that a fix coming in the first Hotfix should mean that the Killswitch should not be used.

    @Topic:

This is a good response and way better than yesterday. Choosing the right person and not the probably worst person to communicate helps a lot.

Also happy about the overall reaction and hotfixes AND that the Killswitch will be clarified. I hope that this also means that the Killswitch is used more often.

However, this overall does not change the fact that the overall situation was handed pretty poorly - and not only when it comes to communication, because the person communicating was not the one who decided that Streetwise should not be killswitched, this was on the Devs and a huge mistake IMO.

  • Not a surprise to be honest. People once again overreacting instead of waiting a bit until new toy syndrome is gone and the item was around for a few weeks. And BHVR obviously jumping the gun way too fast here.

But then again, not that I care too much about Fog Vials, I dont use Items anyway. So any nerf is only good for me, since I have to play less against it and when I play Survivor less people use them and bring their useful Items instead.

  • @IrisLP said:

But they've already spoken out about it... And honestly, given all the time I've invested in my P100s, I just don't think it's right for them to give me a badge. I'd rather get a skin (maybe a #Team100 shirt or a "you need to take a shower" shirt 😂) or a charm for the killers, or an iconic weapon, because the truth is, I've invested way too much time in the game for them to give me a badge that no one is going to care about. In fact, I'm not interested in badges at all; I never look at them at the end of the match. I don't care what my teammates have. I only look at the perks to TRY to make sure they didn't cheat, and the prestige. And the badges I'm using are some of the first ones they release and I've never changed them again.
Many will say that an icon skin wouldn't be right because that will get you tunneled or bullied as a killer. Please... I'm already tunneled and bullied as a killer without having anything distinctive, a new one is not going to change anything.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FSWP7ZZG2166/imagen.png

I would honestly not really a big fan of Skins for P100s. I dont know if I am the only one, but I play my P100-character way less than other characters. I P100ed my Nea and since she is P100, I rather play other Survivors, because she feels completed and the only thing I would spend BPs on would basically to stockpile more Items and Add Ons on her. The only time where I basically play her nowadays is during events so that I can collect more Event Items on her.

But other than that, I rather play other characters, at least on Survivor. I dont think I will ever P100 a Killer, but mainly because I play all sorts of Killers and it takes quite some time to increase their Prestige if you are not maining one Killer. But I would admit, a Skin on a P100-Killer would be more useful since Killers are all different.

Personally, I would wish for some ingame bonus when you reach P100 on a character. Maybe a small increase in BPs and Shards, a permanent Bonus you gain like a set percentage of increased Shards and BPs you get from games. Could even become smaller the more P100s you have, to not make people rush to P100s or other things.

But a Banner or Badge… Lame. Really. Should have been in the game since they changed the Prestige.

Both of Kaneki's two hotfixes and Springtrap's hotfix were on Tuesdays, though.

While this might be true, but the times where Hotfixes were always on Tuesday are long gone. Most of the Hotfixes nowadays happen on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, but people are still stuck with Tuesday and expect something which is not announced, just to be disappointed.

    @MoZo said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3977851#Comment_3977851

yea it feels weird. we used the ALWAYS have both hotfixes on the first and second tuesday after a big update but recently they’ve been doing the hotfixes on thursdays and wednesdays. my guess is they pushed back their hotfix schedules by a day or two to get as many fixes in as possible.

Could be possible. I guess we will never know, but what we know is that it is not 100% on Tuesday anymore.

  • It has been a very long time that Hotfixes were scheduled for Tuesdays. As long as nothing is announced, there will be no Hotfix. So dont expect one on Tuesday or any other day unless it is announced.

  • No offense, but this is not really thought through. Bugs cannot be fixed immediatly, it can take time to reproduce the Bug, figure out what is causing it and deploy a fix. And you cannot bring a Hotfix when you want, you need to bring it to all Platforms, which also takes time. So even if they would work on Streetwise immediatly, it will take some time before the fix is ready and the patch can be released.

And this is why the Killswitch exists - it should be used to have an easy way to avoid things being exploited. This was the purpose of its introduction, but sadly the Devs are not willing to use it. I mean, it would look even worse than the lazy TWD-Chapter if the game would also have quite a bunch of killswitched things.

And their response that it is not gamebreaking is a nothingburger as well. I have seen the Killswitch being used for things which were less severe. E.g. I have seen a full map being killswitched because it had one Totem Spot where the Killer would not be able to snuff out a Boon. So that means IF this Map appeared AND a Totem was in that one specific spot AND a Survivor brought a Boon-Perk AND blessed that specific Totem… THEN it would have caused a problem. But even then, most likely less severe than Streetwise, which is just "equip the perk and do you thing" for the exploit to work.

  • Ok, I think you misunderstood me - I did not say that Streetwise is not bugged. I said that the Killswitch is not bugged. The feature. Not the Perk.

    Come on…

  • It is not bugged. But I think that it is all about perception - if you would killswitch Streetwise (and other bugged things), then people would notice more and more how bugged the TWD-Chapter is. It would just make a really bad look. And while there is an outcry about how bugged the Midchapter is and that certain things should be killswitched, not everyone uses Twitter, the Forums or whatever and people might not even notice that.

  • Sadly they allow stuff like this.

But realistically there is not really any way to prohibit it, since they would only be able to ban Software, but no Hardware, so if there is a Monitor which can do that, there is nothing which can be done about that.

But hey, people only use Reshade to make the game brighter. (: A Gamma Setting will totally fix that!

  • @Coordi said:

Merciless Storm wasn't kill switched to my knowledge, as it wasn't game breaking. Nemesis abuse of PWYF was critical enough that the team moved forward with the kill switch. The criteria isn't my call or expertise; I'm communicating with what information I have rather than ignoring the thread altogether. I can and have takem the feedback to the team, however, that more player facing information on the Kill Switch and criteria is wanted.

You are communicating (and only communicating, pretty sure it was not your decision), but the way you are doing it is not really good.

If you communicate between the Community and the Dev, then you should communicate to them that the Killswitch-feature, as it is now, is basically non-existent. If only the worst of the worst things are killswitched (which is not even the case, I have seen things being killswitched which were less severe), then the feature might be removed tomorrow.

IMO there is a different severity of things being broken (when it comes to impact on the overall game), with characters being the most severe things, followed by Perks, followed by Items and Add Ons. Killswitching Streetwise, a fairly unpopular Perk, will have less impact on the game than keeping it around. The number of people who will miss the Perk will be much smaller than the number of people who are either annoyed by it or who are exploiting it. (And even if popular things are bugged, I would guess that more people would value a Killswitch and knowing that games are fair over using the bugged content, even if they were using said content before)

I was under the assumption that you need to attach video evidence to your reports. Obviously I wouldn't promote punishing every single player who picked Streetwise.

Sure, you have to attach video proof. But then again - how many people are doing that? You will have to see that someone is doing that and at the point where you start your recording software, they are finished. Or you just record every game you play, but I dont think that many people are actually doing that.

This is a general problem with the reporting system, personally I dont bother anymore to report someone via the Support. Way too much work.

  • @Evan_ said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3976648#Comment_3976648

Makes me wonder what percentage of Streetwise users are just genuinely so indecisive that they just switch items 10 times at the first box they open. If you use some aura perks, you'll see that these guys are everywhere!

And that's just what I catch with killer perks - I don't want to imagine what a Kindred user sees.

Yeah, but unless you see them doing it, there is no way for you to know if they are doing it or not. And it is better that the Devs dont ban on assumptions.

  • Because it is not really possibly to prove that those people are actually abusing any Bugs. You can assume it, but you cannot prove it. And honestly, this is the right approach, IMO it is always better to let some cheaters play instead of banning someone who is innocent (mind you, a few months ago there was drama about people being banned while being innocent, so it is always better to avoid that). The only time they actually banned for something like that was Infinite Mending Legion, but this was before the Killswitch and they only banned because they warned about it in an ingame message - if someone was still abusing those Add Ons which were bugged, it was totally on them because they should have known.

Speaking of Killswitch - No idea why they dont killswitch the Perks. In general, they are way too lenient with the Killswitch, they introduced the feature and barely used it. But if I had to guess, I would guess they are not killswitching anything because they already get a lot of negative feedback about the TWD Chapter (justified negative feedback IMO) and if they killswitch a bunch of things it might look even worse, even to people who dont know how many things are bugged.

  • Man, you people really want to get me even more mad that I paid money on that Skin.

  • Possibly. Clown is very strong with the buffed yellow bottles. And I think the only reason why he is not seen more often is simply because he is really boring to play.

Today you can just use an AI voice cloner. So their extra grunts and scream can sound more like the actor.

While I would agree that the Voice acting is bad, I am happy that they dont use AI for it. I would probably uninstall instantly and never come back.

However, the Voice Acting overall is pretty poor, mainly because you have the original Voice Actors from the Show for Rick and Daryl, but all the generic stuff is a random person doing it. It should have been either Andrew Lincoln/Norman Reedus or just a Voice Actor.

And if there is a clause that the actors dont need to record screams, grunts of pain etc., then they should have not hired Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln to begin with.

Mhm and I would be surprised if this wasnt kill switched.

Sadly they are very hesitant with the Killswitch.

  • If anything the Fog Vials should be killswitched, but they wont killswitch them, since they are the new Item. So everyone asking for this is pretty unrealistic and we just have to hope that the chase bug is fixed in Hotfix 1.

When it comes to Pig, I highly doubt that many players would actually capitalize on that. Yes, you can run after a Survivor and let their timer go down, which will kill them, but as always it is bad play by the Pig player to go after a person with a Trap, since that Survivor cannot do Gens anyway. And waiting until the timer is up is even more inefficient than just trying to tunnel them out via downing them.

  • PTB is mainly for the Hype. It is to show new Content and make players play it. When it comes to Feedback from PTBs, if there is some absolutely glaring issue (e.g. the Twins Rework from some time ago), it will be adressed, but usually most of the things hit Live unchanged and if there are any changes, they are minor.

The PTB also gives some time to fix things for the Hotfixes. Because usally the Devs have only a few days to fix things once the PTB started, because they need to deploy the Update on all Platforms, which takes a bit over 2 weeks. So you can calculate yourself that the time for changes is limited, when Updates release 3 weeks after a PTB.

And IMO it makes more sense to make changes on the Live Servers instead of changes from PTB to Live. Because lets be real, if the Devs would make a lot of changes based on PTB-Feedback, they would roll back every Update since people cry way too much about changes (on both sides). Letting things hit the Live Servers and see from there how they are perceived with more time (most players are probably playing the PTB for one day) and especially more players (AND including Consoles) is the way smarter choice.

shameless C&P from a different Thread with the same question. Except for the Go Next-Prevention, but this did not get introduced with the Patch, it was introduced before, but disabled.

  • Eh, I honestly prefer Perks being too weak over Perks being Cashgrabs. Even tho, for this Chapter they would not have needed to make Cashgrab-Perks which get nerfed a month afterwards like CoH or Mettle of Man since TWD is big enough of a license to carry it on its own.

But yeah, Perks in general, especially Survivor Perks, are just outright bad. This includes the TWD-Perks, you will not really see those outside of Adepts after a while. Killer-Perks have the advantage that they can be good on certain Killers, but even there I would say that the quality of Perks did drop, because usally you got a weak Killer Perk, a situationally good on certain Killers-Perk and a good Perk. But this also stopped.

But Survivor Perks are usually never worth taking, which results in the Survivor Meta basically consisting of Perks which are at least 5 years old.
