if apocalypic ingenuity didn't have such strict conditions you'd have 4 survivors just rebuilding god pallets
While this is somewhat true, the event ability in the Anniversary Event is already garbage and you get this for free.
To have to waste time to search two chests to activate this Perk is not really appropiate.

Yeah, it just shows that Dedicated Servers were a massive mistake, since BHVR does not bother to provide Servers in every region. Sure, some just cannot have Servers, due to Amazon Game Servers not available there, but the list of Servers did not expand when it initially released.
For EU this means playing with and against Russians, who will have high Ping if they need to connect to Frankfurt. Before Dedicated Servers, Russians played against Russians and Europeans played against Europeans, which made the Ping way better.
And the "best" part? It didnt even lower cheating at all. I have faced a lagswitching Wesker a fewn weeks ago, no issue for him to cheat, even with Dedicated Servers. (That guy is btw. sitting at 500 hours, played yesterday, profile full of people saying he cheated, has already a banned account on Steam… Yet Support ignores it :) )

Doesnt change the fact that its bad to show who the killer is at the start because not all killers are nurse or springtrap and some as ghostface or hag need time for setting traps or ambush.
Swf knows all one member sees if he talks and they must be on coms on top of it, sometimes killer is revealed even in loading screen by tip to his power where icon of his power is shown a relic of encient time of this game.
Mr corrector.
But they are not doing that.

"Most" they kinda do but the ones that dont need to reveal themselfs like ghostface, wraith or other stealth killers or hag would get fired by this change the most.
So hiding them is good because some high mobility killer or killer that has some of his kit on map spread like pinhead,dreadge,pig,xeno,plague,wesker/nemi wont care or even kinda trapper (he still needs rework theres no other save for this boy) but the stealth ones do except like mayers who kinda now is more well rounded but still I see some dislike him now and liking more his stealth option which is scratch mirror and this change would only burry this playstyle more if it went live so the hiddent info on killer is still needed to some point and this is acceptable change not best but acceptable.
Downvote it as usual but I see it as acceptable thing.
I dont downvote you. You get your justified downvotes by other persons. I usually ignore you, except you say something which needs to be corrected (like really bad).

Yeah, this is completely incorrect. Or either you or I fail at English. But if a Killer either starts a chase or gets a Hit, a 4 man SWF knows at this point who the Killer is. This goes for every Killer in the game.

As has been mentioned, it's because SWF exists and VOIP is allowed.
Knock Out has used to work differently, maybe some other perks used to work differently aswell, and a handful of those perks, both on killer and survivor side had to be reworked / nerfed due to the existence of SWF and the possibility of them using VOIP.
You act as if it is a bad thing that Perks which hurt Solos more than SWF get changed.

@GeordieKiller said:
why? majority said to remove it and you still adding it in this was not needed to show the killer
Is this majority in the room?
All I have read was that most people were saying that it should not reveal the Killer right away. Now it basically happens at the same time when a SWF would know who the Killer is.
And lets be real, most KIllers announce themselves pretty early, especially because almost all of them have a different Terror Radius nowadays.

Posts like this should start with "Dear diary…"
Seriously, this is an online game. And many online games have toxic people. Should someone write hatemail to you? Obviously not. Will they still do it? Of course.
You have to stand above it, troll them, ignore them, block them, whatever works best for you.

I'll never understand why Myers was reworked in the first place.
We are no strangers to terrible reworks. Even the word "rework" is a bad omen. But Myers was almost universally agreed to be one of the most thematically perfect killers in the game.
I'll never understand why Myers was reworked in the first place.
Honestly, I think the main reason why they shoehorned this Rework in (if I remember correctly, it wasnt even on a Roadmap), was because they lost the license. And with the Rework and making Myers like he is, they ensured that basically everyone would buy the Killer before he leaves DBD.
And they also could go crazy with the Rework, because what would the license holders do if they dont like it? Take away the license?
But yeah, thematically he was very fitting and now he does not fit at all. And I repeat, I am very sure that his original concept could have been buffed without issues.

Keep it real, most survivor players are only having an "enjoyable" time if the killer isn't challenging and can barely do anything to get you.
This is just nonsense to say something like this. There are plenty of examples where strong Killers are fine to go against and weak players are a pain to go against.
E.g. you will not really find people who say that Skull Merchant is fun to go against. Or Trapper. And those are weak Killers. On the other end of the spectrum you dont see many people complaining about Dracula or Billy, who are both very strong Killers.
Just boiling it down to "Survivors want ez wins" was wrong years ago and whoever says this in 2026 has no clue at all.

You are probably not wrong here.
I never played him after the Rework. I would even prefer the weak Myers before the Rework, obviously I never had the expectation that I will win easily with him (or win at all, lol), but at least he was more fun. Reworked Myers is just super boring to play.
And I think that even old Myers could have been saved without reworking him into something different.

If a killer DCs it's because they can't handle the pressure. Funny enough, same for survivors!
The matter of players DCing should not be partisan and anybody trying to excuse it should be called out.
Yes, but this is not the reality. You see people saying that Killer DCs are more justified. I dont see people complaining that Killers are so entitled when they DC either.
And well, we always see that people complain about Survivor toxicity. Yet, when someone complains about Killer toxicity, some people start to say that this Killer was probably bullied in a previous match and is letting off some steam.
So while you are correct, the perception of this community is a bit different.

IMO the Lunge Add On and the Mangled Add On should be removed. In general, there is 0 need for Nurse to even have strong Add Ons like this. (The Mangled Add On is baffling anyways, removing the synergy with Sloppy Butcher to free a Perk Slot, just to give her an Add On which does the same was not really a smart move.)
Movement Speed should be reduced so that she has to rely more on Blinks to hunt down Survivors. She is slower than Survivors, but missing a Blink is still not really punishing since she will not lose much distance while she recharges. To compensate for that, her recharge speed can be buffed so that she can use her power to traverse the map in the same way she does now.
Adding back the Double Stun when she gets stunned by a Pallet would also be a nice thing. Having her in fatique and stunned gave actual value for Pallets, which are in general pretty useless against her. Stunning her is difficult enough, so getting value out of it would be great.

Nah, you get this wrong. This Killer obviously got bullied in a previous match, so they are entitled to DC if you dont drop immediatly.
I once had a Killer who DCed because it was Garden of Joy. Krasue, one day after Release, when she was busted. And what did this person say why they DCed? Because no Survivor brought a BPS. Yeah, sure Buddy.

Slightly incorrect. If the Killer DCs, it is because of the Survivors. If the Survivors DC, it is because they are entitled.

Mate, your whole build is designed around just 4 man slug the full team. You run Coulrophobia and Infectious to slow down and interrupt people from picking up their teammates, just to also slug them.
Dont act as if you reacted to anything here. You play every game like that, but its obviously the Survivors Fault. How long did it take for you to take this screenshot and how many SoloQ-Teams with off-meta builds did you face before?

I don't understand why the new voice lines also caused Steve and Nancy's screams, grunts, and other affects to be revoiced. Don't the Walking Dead survivors have separate voice actors between their speaking lines and screaming? I miss the Steagull…😥
This was more because of how the contracts are structured. The original Actors do the voicelines, but they dont need to do grunts of pain and screams. And because they did not do this, they needed other Voice Actors for this, which results in the current mismatch of voices we have for them. Since the Voice Actors for Nancy and Steve are not the actual actors who portrayed them, there was no need for separate VAs.
And to be honest, with that the Devs should not really bothered with getting Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln for the voicelines, since it made the characters overall worse, especially since the goal was the complete opposite. But instead of adding value, it just looks sloppy and bad.

That has always been intended, that the killer can see what survivors they face and adjust their loadout based on what they're seeing - flashlights, toolboxes etc. Its part of being the more powerful role.
The profile does not fit any of your description. Gameplay-wise there is 0 reason why the Killer should see the profile of the Survivors. And because of that, Killers are lobbyshopping until they find people with less enough hours.

The small problem with that is, what should the cap be?
I think several arguments could be created just about capping gen speed alone.
Of course, this is something which needs to be decided. But I was always of the opinion that Gens should not be done too quickly and also not take too long.
I remember before Thana was nerfed that there was a Build on Plague with Thana and Dying Light and Gens took like 3 minutes to be completed. This would be too long.
I also think that with Hard Caps they could have handled the Healing-Nerfs better. The problem was never that Survivors can heal each other quickly (e.g. We Will Make It exists for a long time and is totally fine, even when stacked with Medkits or Botany Knowledge). The problem was that Survivors were able to heal themselves with the old blue Medkit and certain Add Ons and Perks in 5 seconds.
The advantage with hard caps is simply that you can have individually strong Perks without it getting out of hand.
I mean, just look at Power of Two and Blood Pact for example. Those will be affected by Diminishing Returns, because it was 12% Haste if both were in play. With Diminishing Returns it will be 9,5% Haste (full effect of Blood Pact with 7% and 50% of Power of Two). But it would not be possible to buff both of those Perks, because at some point, even with one of them being at 50% you will end up at 12% Haste, which is deemed to much.
So even if we see Buffs to Perks due to diminishing returns, those are limited, since at some point you will hit the cap which made the Devs put in diminishing returns in the first place.
-
There are a bunch, lol.
I hate Jane, she is my least liked Survivor. Simply because of her looks and her voice, I just find her pretty repulsive. I also have some hatred against every Survivor with voicelines, since most of them are bad, e.g. I think Orela is a cool character, but I would never like her simply due to her dumb "I hope this Hook isnt rusted"-Voiceline. A special hatred is also reserved for the TWD-Survivors, simply because BHVR did such a bad Job with their voicelines and screams/grunts of pain. Especially because I was dumb enough to buy the Daryl-Skin immediatly, but thats on me, lol.
For Killer, there is only Ghoul and a bit of Springtrap. For Ghoul, especially the Rize-Skin, I think it is just cringe overall. Especially the constant screams, the laugh and the Mori. This completely aside from the gameplay, Ghoul could have the best gameplay, but I would really dislike him just because of all the stuff around him.
I also find the grab of Springtrap pretty cringe, especially with this skin where he has a human head. Even if I overall like Springtrap as a Killer.

Just because people are complaining doesn't mean they're doing poorly. Do you think all these socal media whiners are getting less than 60% KRs? I highly doubt it. No one gets universally good or bad lobbies. Matchmaking is notoriously lax. I can drop 20 screenshots that look like yours too, but i also get psycho squads that leave me with 2 hooks. Anyone who says they face nothing but sweats is full of it. It should be that way for these highzhour crying sweats, they should face their own, but sadly they get plenty of babies to stomp too.
Anyone who says they face nothing but sweats is full of it.
Exactly. We have Streamers who play this game for a living, are live 8 hours a day and you see how random their matchmaking is. E.g. someone like Otz is without a doubt at the highest MMR and he is doing funny challenges most of the time aka not playing super seriously. And he wins most of his games. So if even someone like him almost never faces really strong Survivors, anyone who claims they go against good Survivors constantly is straight up lying. (Or has a weird perception. If someone is really bad at the game even mediocre players seem to be good…)
But Streamers are also one reason why we will never see an actually good MMR-System. Because said Streamers would then almost never get into games and would have to wait very long. And it would be really bad advertisement, if someone like Otz would be doing waiting simulator or even play a different game while waiting and obviously the Devs dont want that.
Do you think all these socal media whiners are getting less than 60% KRs? I highly doubt it.
They dont. Someone a long time ago (when Killer was harder) did a check and watched Streams of several streamers and even those who are very biased and claim that they go only against the Top MMR and that Killer is extremely difficult were having at least 3K on average every game.
I also know one Streamer, who is one of the most disgusting people you can face. 19k hours, tunneling every game, always playing with the best Add Ons (but weird builds like Surge on something like Billy…). Wins most of his games, but throws a tantrum when he for once does not get a 4K in one out of 20 games or so. And those are the people who make survivor-bashing content…

Hope that diminishing returns goes live so we can actually have strong off-meta perks.
IMO even with diminishing returns, we wont have strong off-meta Perks. While I think that diminishing returns overall are healthy, I think hard caps would have been way better.
Because with diminishing returns you cannot buff Perks too much, because otherwise you end up at problematic values, even if one Perk is only 50% effective.
Hard caps on the other hand completely eliminate the possibility of Perk Combinations being too good. And they would have solved so much more and better than BHVRs solutions.

this is almost non-existent anymore
I can think of Garden of Joy and Ormond
To smaller extent Toba Landing
Also drops where you can vault after it are on Swamp and Coal towerMaybe some more, but I would have to think about it…
Garden of Joy is true, the Room with the Generator has only a window. Would need a doorway next to it.
Ormond has a breakable Wall next to the Window, so after this Wall is broken, the Window cannot be used with BL anymore (aside from the first Jump with the Speedboost).
I THINK (but I am not 100% sure) that the window in Coal Tower cannot be vaulted even if you would have the stagger reduction for Balanced Landing. But I would need to test this, since I have not used the Perk in ages.
My point is just mainly that things which got scary with BL in 2019 before it was nerfed are not scary in 2026 anymore. And it deserves some love, since it is heavily outclassed by many other Exhaustion Perks and honestly one of the weakest Exhaustion-Perks overall. I think the only reason to pick BL is personal preference.

Any drop where is window next to it would become an issue again, so for example pier.
There was time, where survivors were using loops where you could drop and immediately vault inside and that was fixed by survivors not being able to vault while staggered from fall.
Well, you would be able to vault again, if BL removed the stagger.Rather not even talking about just question of time before devs create map similar to Haddonfield, where this would become an issue too.
As I said, almost all upper floor windows have a Drop nearby which the Killer can take without vaulting the window. The problem always were windows which needed to be vaulted by the Killer, but this is almost non-existent anymore.
-
@Starrseed said:
Does that mean not matter where the killer is in the pallet area you can't pull it down once he starts to swing?
Because it is on purpose that you can't throw the pallet if the killer is deep enough in the pallet area
It seems to be the case that when you try to drop the Pallet on a lunging Killer that their position at the end of the lunge is taken to see if a Pallet can be dropped or not. So even if the Killer did not complete the action, the Pallet is already blocked by them.
-
Why would anyone click that Button? And not just join some Comp DBD Discords if they want to play more seriously?
-
@PetTheDoggo said:
we do balance in fact deny stagger after falling
It used to work like that, if I remember correctly and an issue was it easily created infinites, or close to that.
Would be less of an issue now with map offerings gone, but could still create situation, where survivor in that area is near unkillable within reasonable timeframe.I don't think perk is in bad spot overall, but what should be fixed is maps, where you are not able to activate it in first place.
Also fix the issue, where balance landing will activate on on some spots based on your FPS.Would be less of an issue now with map offerings gone, but could still create situation, where survivor in that area is near unkillable within reasonable timeframe.
It would nearly be no issue nowadays. Since most Windows feature Drops nearby, so the Killer will almost never have to vault the Window. So it is highly unlikely that the Survivor can use said Window in chase more than once (with the initial Haste by BL).
The only Window which does not feature a Drop nearby is the one on the top of The Game. At least the only one I remember.

infectious fright is incredibly broken. You don’t even need to look at the killer and scream. It needs to be fixed.
Infectious is fine. The problem is more that slugging is too good. Slugging provides exactly the same amount of Map Pressure like hooking does. And with the right build, you will not even miss any of the Benefits of hooking (e.g. if you dont run Pain Res or PGTW, you will not need to hook).
However, depending on the Build and on high mobility Killers, Infectious can become a problem. If paired with Distressing (since the high mobility Killers have 40m Terror Radius, with Distressing their Terror Radius is massive) and especially Anti-Healing Perks like Coulrophobia, it makes it basically impossible to pick up Survivors, since you will be nearby if you just picked someone up from the dying state, which allows the Killer to slug and just go after the next person.

I mean, the time is most likely made up. In 11k hours I have never seen a Survivor waiting so long before leaving either via Hatch or Exit Gates. That they wait, yes, 100% this happens (even if not all are doing it). But outside of Hatch Standoffs back in the day, I have not seen waste of time like this.

This.
I just hate Bots on both sides. The game is over either way when someone DCs first, there is 0 difference between having a Bot or no player at all. Bots are not efficient at all and they also seem to sabotage the team.
Dropping Pallets quickly and still going down at the same Pallets because they randomly vault back or anything.
Being very inefficient and mostly running around.
Use Plot Twist? Have a Bot run to you and give your location away. Fun.
Play against a Killer which has ressources on the Map? Like Plague, Wesker or Nemesis? Bots will use those ressources almost immediatly, have fun getting ######### by a Bot who cleanses every time against a Plague when they get just a bit infected.
I always wonder who programmed that stuff.

You want to edit the picture since the name of the person is visible.
Also, they apparently DCed, so not really sure if they were doing it on purpose. Were they only running into the wall for 5 minutes straight? Could have just been an actual crash and the Server did not realize that this person crashed.

Very unrealistic numbers. Logically 4Ks and 0Ks must be the most common results.

To me trapper occupies this strange space where I don't feel like he's overpowered, but I hate going against them. I personally hate the feeling of not being able to even move without being paranoid. If the game is less about stealth now and more about chases then don't make it so I don't even want to move much less get into a chase. That's not even touching on basement trapper.
Personally I could envision something like where he throws a trap on a chain and reels you in but that's just Deathslinger with a different coat of paint.
Yeah, this is the prime example why Killers who are weak are not automatically fun to go against. I also hate to go against Trapper, even if he is weak.
@Topic:
Trapper does not need a Rework. First of all, Trapper can be completely different when playing with Double Iri and without Double Iri. If you use Double Iri on him, he is way stronger with you basically being constantly injured.
But even without that, a Rework would not make sense. Trapper is a very simple Killer and as the Posterboy, he should be simple. He should basically be the Killer from the art and a new Killer player should be able to pick him up quickly. Plus throwing Beatraps just sounds stupid and is basically Huntress.
I would make the following changes to Trapper:
- Instead of 8 Beartraps, there should be 4 Beartrap Locations with 2 Beartraps at each Location. He should also be able to carry 2 more Beartraps instead of only 1 more Beartrap by Default. This would allow him to pick up his power quicker, so he only has to travel 4 times instead of 8 times to collect it.
- Setting Speed and Haste should be buffed a little and the respective Add Ons nerfed a little.
- Beartraps should always be in a similar color to the ground of the map. The Devs will probably be able to get this done by giving the Beartraps the main color of the Map. E.g. Eyrie of Crows and Dead Sands yellowish, The Game gray, Swamp dark brown etc… Tar Bottles used to be his best Add On when the Maps were darker, but nowadays you cannot really bring them since they make Traps stick out even more since the Devs decided to make the game so bright. But the traps being a similar color to the main ground of the map would certainly help. Tar Bottles should be reworked to a completely different Add On.
- More vegetation on maps where it is appropiate. The lack of grass on most maps make it hard to place Traps. But maybe this might not even be needed with the previous suggestion.
-
I would agree, Blighted Crow and Rat should be looked at. But they should wait to see what the Token Reduction on Pallet Break will do first before potentially overnerfing Blight.
(The movement speed reduction will not do much, since it will only affect bad Blight players)

@SkeletonDance said:
Balanced landing problem lies with the map design. Devs are making currently the same mistake as with old Shelter Woods with new maps. Those maps don't have ramps, hills, or any drops to trigger it. If those maps would have like a generic drops to trigger it, then it wouldn't be a problem.
And Smash Hit is just situational. It's not a bad perk, but I think it should trigger like parental guidance (Whenever you stun the killer by any means instead of pallet) but then i don't know if the synergy with perks like DS, last stand or blast mine etc. would be good.
And the reason why Smash Hit has 4 seconds instead of 3 is because this perk triggers when the killer is stunned, meaning when you're still in pallet drop animation. So it's still something like 3 seconds in practice.
Even if Balanced Landing could be triggered on all Maps, it would be inferior to many other Exhaustion-Perks. Dont get me wrong, it is stupid that maps exist where you cannot trigger Balanced Landing. Either because they dont feature any drops at all or because they might not feature drops because of RNG.
But aside from personal preference, there would be 0 reason to pick Balanced Landing over Sprint Burst or Lithe. Both have more locations to trigger (or dont need any at all). While with Balanced Landing you need to go to a specific location to get value out of it.
IMO they should buff it. Either make the Stagger Reduction permanent again. Some people will protest, because they like to parrot things, but 2026 DBD is not the same as 2019 DBD. There are almost no locations with windows which would trigger Balanced Landing without a drop nearby OR which are just too short anyway. You will get one round (because of the Speedboost) but not a second round, simply because the Stagger Reduction is not enough. BL would be fine with the stagger without creating infinites. At most it would probably make the Perk feel better to use.
OR they buff it to 4 seconds instead of 3. Simply because it is harder to trigger than Lithe or Sprint Burst and most of the time requires some travel to reach a location to trigger it.
The main problem with Smash Hit is basically that it does less against the strong Killers. It is way harder to stun a Blight, Ghoul or Billy than stunning some M1-Killer. Let alone Nurse. The idea to let it affect all stuns would be fine, but I think this will only make it relevant for very few select things like DS, so I dont think it would make the Perk more popular.

So you feel it is ok to have an advantage by calling out perks, locations, builds etc.. but the killer gets nothing? Seems a bit biased.
Killer brings Spirt Fury. Enduring. "hey guys, spirit fury enduring drop early" totally fair right? Sure survivors would eventually figure it out. But the element of surprise is now gone.
Think comp teams would be as efficient if they didnt have comms?
Comp is completely different from the DBD 99,99% of players experience.
But in general, the strength of SWF is that you decrease the teammate RNG. If 4 good players play together, they will achieve roughly the same results if they are on Comms or not on Comms. In general, I think people who see the biggest advantage of SWF in Comms dont really understand the game. They think that Comms make bad players to good players for whatever reason.
And yes, the Killer is also fine against SWFs according to the stats. Even if it is the ultimate Scapegoat, it does not warrant any compensation.

I need to ask the devs. Will killers ever be givin any compensation for the advantage comms gives survivors?
Since we know from stats that Killers also do fine against SWF, why should they?
I mean, obviously Comms is the nice excuse for people who lose a game. But the reality is way different. But keep telling yourself you lose games because of SWF on Comms and no other reason. Some very vocal content creators do the same and their viewers believe it, so you can use the same excuse.

No offense, but if you DCed, why didnt you just leave immediatly afterwards? You say that you wanted to be out of the game, you DCed, you were out of the game. Why do you stay in Postgame Chat then?
And sadly, there is not much which can be done here. I mean, what should even be done? If teabagging gets to you, you need a thicker skin. I know I will farm Downvotes for that, but teabagging, humping and all that other stuff will happen and you should be able to not let it affect you. Be the adult. If you stress yourself less with this kind of stuff, you will find the game way more enjoyable.

The Doors are 'risky' but the risk is quite managable, if you have a 3 second gap on Springtrap you can use them for free, and if u get a pallet stun into an exhaustion perk its pretty easy to make that distance, you enter Doors twice as fast as the Killer and teleport a little slower, but its already extremely free to use when u know his Location as he cant always reach a door within 3 Seconds, and takes 2 Seconds to enter a door just from the animation.
And the 'instant down' risk is pretty small if you are already injured, so a free crossmap TP is huge.If the Doors would be so beneficial for Survivors and the risk would be so small, we would see Survivors use the Doors constantly. But this is not the case, they get ignored.

Mainly because it can be seen as last "middle finger" to he killer so he does not really get to mori the survivor but the bot. In the end 10 seconds is not end of the world to wait. There is also the audio clue that happens when someone abandons even to drive the point down that the survivor abandoned.
Kind of strange to see it that way. In the end you downed the actual player and won the game. Even if they Abandon right away. And only because you want to see a Mori does not mean that others want to see it. And after all, you get to see your Mori.

Did you get an actual Ban, so a DC penalty for it? Or did you get the inaction method?
There is no way you get a DC penalty and have to wait to queue up if you just use Plot Twist.
However, I can imagine that the inaction system might kick in if you plot twist early or often and/or decide to be on the ground for longer, since the system might think that you get downed on purpose and are not doing enough to progress the game.
