  • Yep. You totally dont need to run BT anymore. /s

  • DS should obviously be at 5 second again. And the anti-tunnel capacity of the Perk should be increased as well. Currently, the only Anti-Tunnel Perks around are based on Endurance, so once hit, they are all gone. 80 seconds OTR dont matter if you get hit 3 seconds after Unhook. (During this time you have the measly 5 seconds of Base Endurance).

Obviously stacking Endurance was not a good thing, but they should add more Anti-Tunnel options which are not based on Endurance. Because currently, tunneling is way too beneficial and way too easy to do.

But we all know that DS just got nerfed to 3 seconds to remove the Perk from the Survivor Builds to "shake up the Meta".

  • Cant wait for Prove Thyself to be nerfed because so many Killer Mains simply did not understand what the Perk actually does. They just see "Faster Gen Speed", especially because this is pushed by some vocal Content Creators, but Prove Thyself only removes the penalty the Survivors get from working on a Gen together.

If Prove Thyself is nerfed, more reason to split up on Gens, which is even worse for the Killer.

  • Just a question - have you ever had the thought that you did not play that well when games like this happened?

  • Yeah, as Survivor it only makes sense if you are a completionist. Since I am a completionist, I am happy on one side to have actual Perk Builds when leveling up the new Survivors, but on the other hand, to get everything I have to go to P9 with everyone...

  • The grind looks worse than before because you get less BPs than before since there is no Bonus to BBQ or WGLF anymore. So it feels worse. But once you bought the RE-DLC and you can play the characters with a real Build because you have unlocked almost all Perks on them, you will see that it is better than before.

  • That nobody really talked about this shows that it is not even close to be enough. Nurse needs a full Rework, not some meaningless Nerfs which will just result in the Devs waiting months or years before they do anything about her.

Matchmaking is already being more lenient than it perhaps should, in order to make killer queues viable.

I have 100 hours as survivor, my mmr is low tier 'cause I suck at chases, and I am regularly put in front of 3k hours killers that stomp my team. If the matchmaking gets any more "fast > balanced", I fear many of us might jump ship on survivor, which would make the imbalance of roles even worse.

    It is.

2 Billy games, first game I have 4 Survivors with at least 4k hours each (4k, 5k, 5k, 5k to be precise). And the next game, I have: 1 private profile, 1 Survivor with 300 hours, one with 52 hours and one with 7 hours. I guess the latter group was an SWF, but still. This just shows how lenient the Matchmaking is.

And if it would not be so lenient, Killer queues would probably be longer than 7 minutes.

Yeah that 10% pallet breaking speed certainly helps a lot, survivors can't get to other pallets at all. Not that there are like 30+ pallets in every map right? And the extra 10 whole secs added to gens! Killers don't even need gen defense perks anymore right? Tell me you don't play killer without telling me bruh.

I have more hours on Killer alone than most DBD-Players in DBD overall. But yeah, currently I play less Killer because I am stuck in Killer queues for so long...

Quite the opposite. It has never been so easy for me as survivor.

Seems like you are the only person on this planet who thinks that the Patch was survivor-sided.

  • @INoLuv said:

survs need no buff, killers need some of their addons to be basekit, killers are still weak

If you STILL struggle with Killer, thats totally on you. Killer is the easiest it has ever been right now.

  • My Survivor gameplay changed in a way that I try to be even more efficient. I have not opened a single Chest or cleansed a single Dull Totem since the Patch. Because there is no time to do so, especially because Killers are stacking 4 Slowdown-Perks nearly every game. But cant blame them, it is the easiest way to play Killer, but I seriously hope that the Devs really nuke the Slowdown-Meta at some point. Because you dont need to run 4 Slowdown-Perks to win as Killer...

Also, Survivor gameplay is more annoying, because of the teammates. I still see people running Self-Care. One game I had a Nea who was next to me self-caring (against Legion...) while I tried to do a Gen. She did not help at all, because she was too busy wasting time...

Also the inefficiency of other Survivors is really getting to me. Yesterday I got tunneled off Hook by a Nurse. Second time I went down, I see one Survivor gentapping to farm Conspicious action points (aka getting almost no progress on the Gen) and the other one was just running around.

Another time it was an early 3v1 because the Killer tunneled someone out (like so many do, tunneling is way too strong currently...) and instead of doing a Gen, a Feng was running around the Map to search for a Totem to set up her Boon. And she did this for well over 2 minutes...

As Killer, nothing changed too much. It was a net-buff for me, since I dont run Slowdown-Perks, just Corrupt Intervention left most of my builds. But queue times are too long sometimes and when it happens that the game crashes or sends you back during queue, just annoying. I had 3 "Disconnects from the Host" in a row while trying to find a game as Hillbilly, which took me around 20 minutes total, since one queue was about 7 minutes. (Restarting the game solved it)

  • 2 Survivors at a Gen with Prove Thyself is still better than 2 Survivors on 2 separate Gens for the Killer.

I also only use PT because I want some extra BPs and I dont really know what to use instead.

  • Just bring Nurse with Retribution, Haunted Ground, Undying and Ruin. You should win the Match with at least one Hex-Totem remaining. (When I did it, I had three remaining, the two Haunted Grounds and Retribution, but I also brought Midwich, so I was not really nice).

Or, bring Pentimento, open the exit, create a Hex-Totem and bodyblock it until the timer ran out. Or just do that with NOED.

So I would not really say that the Challenge involves Luck, if you bring NOED AND Pentimento, you will have a Hex-Totem available guaranteed.

  • Why should anyone then boon a Hex-Totem when they can just cleanse it in a shorter amount of time?

In general, IMO cleansing Hexes is pretty dumb, since it takes ages and you are far better off with just cleansing it. Higher chance that it is gone and also the Killer does not know immediatly where the Boon is located.

and M1 killers which there are a lot of them still have to waste time looking for the boon to actually remove it, which is a giant waste of time when the killer has to use their time so preciously

and boons are still a giant bad idea either way, and not everyone will waste a perk slot on a perk that could or could not work depending if the survivors even bring a boon, nobody likes a perk just sitting there teasing them

This shows exactly why your Thread is just wrong.

  • First of all, improvements should go to her Dash and her Stealth-Ability. There is no need to buff the Traps, they are cheap RNG-Kills. And those should not be more frequent or anything.

Since Wesker is now a Killer with an unusual Terror Radius, I would also hope that the Devs change Pigs Terror Radius back to 28 meters. This would be great (on top of some love for her Dash and Stealth).

But it also works when there are 0 gens left. And when 3-4 gens are gone, camping might be necessary just to gain back some ground. Having no risk of losing reassurance would punish killers for playing fair and reward survivors for playing unfair.

Camping at 5 gens is playing unfair and should be punishable accordingly. Camping at 1 gen might be necessary or survivors 3-genning themselves with a hook in the center(aka putting themselves in an avoidable situation) isnt really camping either, but the killer would lose because survivors misplayed.

    That doesn't make sense.

The other fix I had in mind is to entity block the hooked survivor during the same time, so they can't be unhooked and give killers a reason to leave the hook without it being a free unhook.

"The other fix I had in mind is to entity block the hooked survivor during the same time, so they can't be unhooked and give killers a reason to leave the hook without it being a free unhook."

The other Nerf (still no "fix") you mentioned would turn it into a Killer Perk. Killer would have one Survivor out without the possibility to be back in the game for some time while still being able to go for other Survivors.

    Yikes³

  • Sprint Burst.

Always been one of the most annoying Perks to go against. Seeing a Survivor walking knowing that they will be save and a chase is not worth it, is not nice. And seeing a Survivor on a Gen until the very last second without any Danger is also annoying.

Kinship is already at the strength of competitive DBD that it's the first perk killers try to avoid. Reassurance is literally the strongest perk survivors have had access to. It needs to be kept in check.

Besides, not a nerf, it's not on live servers

Bringing competitive DBD just shows that you have no idea.

First of all, competitive DBD has nothing to do with Public Games. There are Perk Restrictions, you can be sure if Perk Restrictions would not exist, Nobody would run Kinship.

Second, camping is so beneficial and just the strategy to go in competitive DBD. So Kinship is way stronger than in public games.

If you dont camp, the Perk is useless. I get that Killers wnat to keep their camping and tunneling, since the Devs made it super-easy. But a Perk which just counters one of the most boring things in the game (camping) is healthy for the game. And it gets countered by just not camping.

  • No, not at all.

Since MMR was implemented, I did not care at all for it. The system is dumb and barely functional. There is 0 skill involved at all. I dont even care to get to Iri 1 on both sides since it was implemented.

  • The thing is, with 3 second stun, DS will always be pointless to use. The stun needs to be back to 5 seconds and then you can look at the Perk.

Without the Stun Time being reverted, Buffs to DS are most likely not helpful.

  • Dont call the Nerf you propose a "fix".

And no, the Perk is fine.

It's not just "common sense" even the game rules page listed on the forum simply says "Holding the game hostage" is against the rules, but doesn't actually define what that means. I come from an era of: "If the game let's you do it, its allowed" because there is no way to know what is and is not an undocumented feature. Additionally, they even say you can't "exploit bugs" so was any killer running overcharge and call of brine a week ago banned?

I mean, if someone really thinks "Oh, its totally fine to keep those people here forever and rob them of a game, they can DC if they like", this person deserves to be banned.

But looking at this thread and the people who argue with a Dev that it is not holding the game hostage if this and that, no wonder, the DBD-Community is just terrible.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3128889#Comment_3128889

Why not create something in the game itself that prevents this from happening? There is nothing for the killer to indicate or know that this is "against the rules" in some way, because the game allows them to do it. And it obviously isn't exploiting some bug. Why not allow the survivor to disable collision with the killer if they touch their model for some x amount of seconds?

Having these arbitrary rules that you expect to be enforced because the game doesn't prevent these types of things from happening is bad. How is someone supposed to know this is bannable?

I would call it common sense.

But I would agree that there should be some ingame solution for this. When I get hold hostage for a long amount if time, I dont care that much that I report the person who did this afterwards.

If a Survivor has Crows, they lose Collision. And this should be enough to fix it.

  • I dont think you throw the game that much when doing them. You need to find a smart balance between still playing the regular game and doing challenges. The problem is, some people think that they need to do Challenges ASAP, which means that they only focus on them.

But it is undeniable that Survivor-Challenges are those which make you do other things than the actual Objective. While Killer-Challenges are "play the game" for the most part.

That being said, I really wish they would add some form of tracker for some challenges. E.g. those "hide within X meters"-Challenges.

  • The only time I got Meat Plant as Killer was due to a Map Offering. Otherwise I did not get it for weeks now.

I get Yamaoka A LOT when playing Killer.

  • Rewards only make sense when they are denied when the Killer is camping. This was not the case with BBQ, so it was a bad incentive.

If you can come up with a good incentive which is only awarded if the Killer is not camping, go for it. I just think there is none.

  • First of all, we have 30 Killers. So at this point, most of the Killers are pretty rare, because there is such a huge cast.

But mostly, I think many players find her boring to play and play against. I really dislike playing against her, because she places a Crow at a Loop, I have to leave this Loop and at some point, she catches me. Yay. Lose-Lose-Situation for the Survivor.

And because of that, I also dislike to play her. Because the Survivor is forced to hold W against her and I will only catch them because I am faster. And this is really boring IMO.

Going for Snipes is fun tho, but I rarely see this happening.

Not if they are doing a gen themselves. They'd only feel the effects if there was 3 people on a gen but even then with a penalty, 3 people on a gen would speed things up and you wouldn't feel the changes. So it makes your point, pointless

It is not pointless. But you dont seem to understand it. Of course the Solo repairs Gens at a normal Speed. But should they do all the Gens?

For the rest of the Gens, they take far longer. So the overall time needed to complete all Gens would increase - for the Solo Survivor as well (unless, as said, they do all Gens themselves).

But in the end, your idea is bad, many people already had it and the Devs will never implement it.

  • @Razy01 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3125284#Comment_3125284

If you read it properly, I state that solo q survivors do not get the negative effects from the swfs. And this wouldn't be punishing people with friends at all. If you had a problem with it, run perks that will combat the penalty like prove thy self 🤦🏻‍♂️

If you read it properly, I wrote that the Solo would be stuck with 3 Survivors who repair slower. They will also be affected, even if they dont have the penalty themselves.

  • You can open the Gates (as you described) and only have to wait 2 minutes from that point onwards. At max.

Or, you can force them out and cut this time short.

There are ways. If you dont want to use them, this is on you.

  • @DBDVulture said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3125284#Comment_3125284

Punishing people for playing with friends is not the same as limiting the power increase you get with SWF. Look at comp teams and how they relay information constantly. Look at good teams and they relay slightly less information. Look at casuals and they still relay a lot of information. At the casual level SWF still gets you about +4 perks worth of information. That's akin to cheat.

A more complicated way to balance SWF is to give any solo survivor +4 information perks that activate when they are playing solo queue AND get into a SWF game. Perks that could be chosen include : rookie spirit, bond, kindred, empathy, but NOT perks like dead hard - which is an "action" perk.

Do the same for killer. Give the killer +4 perk slots chosen before the game starts that activate only in case of SWF (that do not need to be limited to information). Now all the solo players (killer and survivor) get buffs to counteract the advantage you get while playing in a SWF.

Again you will probably say this is a "punishment". It's not - it's balancing solo queue players to the level of SWF teams.

Bringing Comp-Teams in it is already nonsense.

No SWF-Team will communicate like Comp-Teams. Really, nonse of them. And second, the strength of SWF is not communication, the strength is that you filter out the bad players.

Most of the time Killer players dont lose because of SWF, they lose because they are just not good enough. The same players who beat you in a 4 man SWF will also beat you when all of them are Solo in the same match.

  • First of all, punishing people who like to play with friends is dumb.

Second, what would you do when a Solo plays with a 3 man SWF? The Solo is equally punished, because they are playing wiht 3 people who have a huge penalty on Repair Speed.

  • Yeah, not understandable.

I mean, I get Botany Knowledge to some extend. However, it would have made more sense to keep BK as it is (or buff it to 50%) and just cap Healing Speed. The Main Problem was never Botany Knowledge, it was that if you were stacking Healing-Perks that you can get Heals which are way too fast.

With capping it you would be free to buff Healing-Perks without them being problematic when combined. And they would also be more freely when creating other Perks without the need of nerfing those/making them weaker or nerfing other Perks which might be too good with new Perks.

But Calm Spirit. I really dont know. I mean, someone at BHVR must have seen that the Perk is really situational and thought about buffing it. But I cannot really imagine how someone else then jumps in and said that doing Totems and Chests silent would be too good, so they nerfed the Perk overall.

  • Is this only in the Match itself? Because then it would be too late anyway.

  • The problem is that tunneling has become way too easy. Killers are always claiming that Survivors have so many second-chances, but if they all resolve around Endurance, this does not really help.

Yes, there is Basekit-Endurance and yes, you can increase it with BT. And yes, you can run Off the Record. But all of this is gone after one hit. The Devs can also release 100 Endurance-Perks, this would mean there are 100 Perks against tunneling, but it does not help when all of them get disabled at the same time.

Stacking Endurance was nonsense tho, logical that they have removed it.

However, without DS at 5 seconds, it does not really help to have OTR as "replacement". BT + 5 second DS is a better defense than BT + OTR. Killers also just tunnel and can pick you up without anything, because even if you have DS, 3 seconds (1,7 seconds of distance) are not enough.

I mean, OTR giving Endurance to yourself is a good thing. Because it was just dumb that you had to rely on another player having BT to have a chance to get away after an Unhook. But basing everything on Endurance does not help.

And the worst part is that the Devs were seriously thinking they would do something against tunneling and camping.

How are you only getting 5k a game as a killer main, Aven?

Oh, as Killer I am actually using them.

  • Currently not really feeling it to burn Flans/Cakes for 5k BP max on my side.

  • I have to agree. I have 7500 hours in DBD. I am not even burned out, I really like the game or better - I want to like it.

But the times where it becomes frustrating are more and more. Two weeks ago I was not able to play at all, because I was too busy (getting back home late and having to leave very early resulted in valuing sleep over gaming) and I did not miss the game.

And afterwards there were some of the most frustrating days of playing DBD. And currently, it is basically on/off if DBD is fun or not. Yesterday was alright, today was terrible. First game having a 4 Slowdown-Nurse (at least no Range Add Ons tho) followed by a 4 Slowdown-Blight with strong Add Ons. And Killers like that should not have access to 4 Slowdowns, especially because the Blight was always coming back to the Hook every 15 seconds.

Then I got tunneled two times by a Dredge and a Wraith. Both of them were not good, but the Devs made tunneling and camping super-easy. Like, players complain about Survivors having so many second chances, but if my second changes resolve around Endurance and I can only get one Endurance-effect, it does not matter that there is a Basekit Endurance, BT from the unhooking Survivor and OTR on my end. One hit and all of them are gone. Not saying that they should stack, but it makes tunneling pretty easy.

But I do have to say that I am quite excited about the RE-Content, since I like Resident Evil as a Franchise and I also really liked Nemesis in DBD, one of my favorite Killers to play.

However, really thinking of cutting down on that DBD-Time to not play every evening. Because the game does suck at the moment and the Devs seem to be completely out of touch with their community. And I also dont think that feedback is even appreciated.

  • Something like 15 in a row with Nurse. If Otz rules are 3K with Hatch or Gate-Escape after Hatch was closed. As Survivor not much, maybe 5 or something like that.

Highest as Killer tho was 35 with Billy. But this was during an MMR-Test and I was paired against new Survivors even after those 35 games, so I dont think it really counts.

  • There are a few:

Dredge, basically for the reasons already mentioned. I just dislike his Nightfall, it becomes super-dark and uncomfortable. Not even scary or anything, just uncomfortable.

Trickster, because it is very hectic getting hit by multiple projectiles.

Artist, because it is just "Place a Crow at Loop, so I have to leave the Loop" and this on repeat.

And Twins, my soul vanishes from my body when I hear the sound of Victor being released.

  • @fulltonon said:

So this is the result of all the effort survivor put into the game to make nurse easy.

Yes. We all gathered to a secret meeting and decided to increase her Killrates by that. You know, Survivors cannot even somewhat coordinate which Gens should be done or that a 99% Gen on one side of Resting Place might be at 99% for a reason, but we all decided to get her nerfed by mass-killing against her.

(to be honest, I dont see any DCs or Suicides against Nurse in my games, neither as Survivor nor as Nurse myself...)

  • Uncapping the categories would do the trick. This would also help Survivors who share their BP-Gain with other Survivors and Killers who have trouble filling certain categories (e.g. Pig when it comes to Deviousness).

Meanwhile you are sitting on max Objective or max Hunting and in the end, you are not even close to the 40k maximum. Just uncap the categories and BP-gains will be a bit better.

Also, I think that they should double the category-BP Offerings. So 100% for brown, 150% for yellow and 200% for green. Currently you gain nearly no profit even on a maxed out category. If I use a brown Add On and get 10k in that category, the offering gives me 2k extra BPs, which means I cannot buy a single thing in the Bloodweb from the profit I made. With 100% it would at least be a plus of 7k. (11k for yellow (instead of 3,5k) and 15k for green (instead of 5k)...)

  • @fulltonon said:

Killers slugging have no impact for the game, there is no difference in hooking them and waiting for bleedout.

Please do not try to defend literal waste of time with no benefit at all.

I didnt even defend it, but nice try. 50% of your post debunked.

To the other 50% - there is a difference between being hooked and being slugged. Hooking is a central part of the game. And it is also easier to get an Unhook compared to a Pickup. For Pickup, I would need to run Soul Guard or the other Survivor needs to have WGLF. Both which are very specific. While unhooked, I would have the 5 second of base Endurance, which would at least give me a chance. And then there are Perks which are less situational than Pickup-Perks, which would actually allow for some defense.

And, even if I just get facecamped, I will be dead after 2 minutes instead of 4 AND I can at least do some Skill Checks. So there is a difference.

  • Nah, Combos should be allowed. They should design Perks in a way that they are not too strong or annoying when combined. And not limit the freedom of choosing Perks.

What should be done tho is a hard cap on certain things. E.g. instead of nerfing Botany Knowledge with Medkits (which was just stupid, sorry to say that, but running Botany Knowledge and not being able to heal yourself with a brown Medkit out of a Chest is just dumb) they should cap Healing Speed so that you cannot bring CoH, Botany Knowledge, a green Medkit with double Speed to have a 4 second Heal or something like that.

Gen Slowdown also should be capped, there should not be gens which take close to 3 minutes.

Those are things they do, not crippling Perk Combos or Perks itself.

  • @Crowman said:

If you want to defend survivor toxic behavior go ahead, but you can't complain if killers behave toxic

The big difference is that Survivors toxic Behavior has no impact on gameplay at all. Killer toxicity however can hinder the Survivors from playing the game.

When I look at OPs post, they got a 2K and 9 Hook-States, which mean that even the two surviving players were hooked at least once (one one time, the other one two times). So they had a decent game, a 2K, probably a good amount of BPs.

Now, what happened to me two days ago - I played against a Nurse on Midwich. She was using Lethal Pursuer, I had her on me right after the start. After some chase I got slugged and just left on the ground while the Nurse was somewhat patrolling around me (she was probably checking Gens nearby but blinked back to me from time to time). My team tried to pick me up, which was a mistake, but in the end, I was not playing the game for over 4 minutes, because I got slugged for the whole duration and the times where I was not slugged, I was able to run a few steps and got slugged again.

In the end, 3 Survivors bleed out, the 4th Survivor was hooked after almost 4 minutes of Bleedout. So 4 Survivors had to lie on the ground for almost 4 minutes and I did not even have a game at all, except for a bit of chase. The Nurse did not even have a build for this (so no Knockout or Deerstalker), just a normal build and even brought a Flan.

So you are telling me that me not being able to play the game for over 4 minutes is the same like a Killer waiting for 2 minutes until the EGC runs out, even if they dont have to wait that long, because they can just force them out? All of this while they had a game with a decent outcome?

    Come on...

But I know what the problem is - the Survivor might be teabagging!!!11111

    "But tournament squads are rare"

So are tournament Nurses. That's the point. Tournaments show that equally skilled players tie when it's Nurse, so she's balanced.

Nurse has quite a low skill ceiling.

So your thought is really a stretch.

  • Yes, they intended to get rid of the PR + DMS-Combo.

But since Pain Resonance and Merciless Storm were a thing so that many Skill Checks spawned when the Gen went down due to Pain Resonance, they reinstaded the Scream. The Killer will not be notified, so no explosion, but with DMS they will obviously see the blocked Generator.

This was changed with the latest Patch (6.1.2/6.1.3)

Would have made more sense to cap the duration of Merciless Storm instead of bringing back a combo they wanted to get rid of, but hey.

I don't rage quit either, my 6.5K hours account probably has less than 100 DC's on it (including crashes, etc), I had 5 hackers B2B 2 weeks ago and frequently get them.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1543277227?t=0h30m26s If you click this link you'll literally hear my say "It's probably that hacker Dwight lets be honest" because I've bee bumping into them so often... and guess what, it was. (30m 26s if the timestamp doesn't work).

I think that they have to go for a compromise and balance act between having a short-term solution for the Cheaters and not giving too much freedom. And so they decided that only Fog Whisperers are allowed to DC against Hackers. They can also take actions if those Fog Whisperers decide to abuse that and DC for different things (First Downs, too many Gens done, Ragequits in general). This would not be possible with Streamers.

That being said, if they would allow Streamers in general to DC, where to stop? A specific viewcount? Would also be unfair. Being a Streamer in general? I mean, I have a Twitch-Channel, but never Streamed. Would I be a Streamer? Or do I need to stream my gameplay to 0 viewers to be allowed to DC?

I guess the goal was to find A solution and not the best solution.
