What does make sense is all these complaints about Camping and Tunneling getting worse after Patch but I also have seen MANY say Survivors have switched over to Killer now. So this may be a gut feeling but I believe that the increase of Camping and Tunneling is caused by these Survivors turned Killer
Yep, Survivors evil, Killers good. So the camping and tunneling Killers are only those evil Survivors.
-
I was excited until they gutted Reassurance. This would have been the second time since I started playing where I would actually be excited for a Survivor-Perk being released, because I actually want to play it. (First time was Mom)
They should have added something that the hooked Survivor can give up despite someone else using Reassurance on them. Because the Killer got all the information when it was used, they see that Reassurance is used and they know that someone has to be very close, so they can easily stop camping at this point, since their "strategy" will not work.
And IMO the information (glowing-white Survivor) should be removed as well for the Killer, they will notice it anyway when they pay attention, but it should not be mega-obvious.
But since Reassurance got nerfed and all other Survivor-Perks are very bad, it will be just another Chapter like always - I will buy it because I am a completionist, I bring every Character to P9 and I will never play any of the Survivors again outside of Dailies and will play Wesker if I have fun with him.
-
2022 and people still come up with the Nonsense of a "Survivor Rulebook"...
-
It is not really hard. Play a Killer you are comfortable with and it should be done in the first game.
Did it first game as well, hardest part was to get used to play without Shadowborn on Nurse.

I got curious and can confirm the German version also says 1 million instead of 2.
CHARAKTERFORTSCHRITT.
Love it.
-
Its a Hag, she will have at least 8 Traps nearby.
-
Since Nurse got fixed, she overtook Huntress in my games as the most common Killer I play against. Add to this that players try her out and realize that she is not as hard as people like to claim (once you learn her).
And currently there is a Nurse-Challenge in the Archives, which adds to it.
-
It should be removed completely in the Lobby.
-
They ever left?

Do you normally play in EU? in NA where i play the evening has longer queue times for survivor. Clearly the last patch brought back more killer player b/c what was previously a 5 minute wait during peak survivor times, is now less than 1 minute.
To expand on my point, now that buffed BT is basekit, survivors can run something else besides OTR. I normally play solo q so i know it'll open up stronger builds for me since i no longer need to worry about unsafe unhooks. So, sure, i'm being a bit dramatic but we'll wait and see how this plays out. I expect the killer population to drop shortly after killer players get their Wesker fill.
Yes, I play on EU. And I have instant Survivor Queues during the whole day whenever I play. Killer Queues are either terrible (morning to late afternoon) or just a bit long (evening to night).
Before 6.1.0 it was instant Survivor Queue during the whole day and longer during the evening/night and Killer vice-versa.

Gosh, it would be bad if killers had to, you know, hunt on their own...
Honestly, the general idea of the Perk is great. It allows Killers who dont have a high mobility to get into a new chase pretty quickly. Basically the opposite of BBQ. While BBQ can be useful on Billy or Blight to get into Chases quickly, it is not useful for Killers who have low mobility. But Awakened Awareness would benefit those KIllers.
Nurse with Starstruck just breaks it.

Did they also nerf Thana because Legion and Plague are OP?
Shall we rework Legion and Plague so they stop breaking the game?
Oh my, what a cute attempt.
No, they nerfed the Perk because it was too oppressive on mainly Legion and Plague. They just did a terrible Job by doing so, because they made Thana only useable on Legion or Plague and worthless for every other Killer.
-
Nah, not really. The people who do such unsafe Unhooks also did them without any BT (Perk or Basekit) at all.
-
They nerfed this Perk because of Nurse. If Nurse stops breaking the game and stops holding back Perk Design, you can have fun and smart Builds all you want.
But it was clear from the beginning that this Perk will go hand in hand with Starstruck on Nurse and the Devs nerfed the Perk instead of tackling the Problem itself (which is Nurse).
-
The Perk became completely unattractive for every Survivor who is not in a 4 man-SWF. With 4 Survivors bringing the Perk and coordinating, you will get value. But as Solo, there is not really a point in bringing the Perk, it is not worth it to stand up from a Gen, run the distance to the Hook for just 30 seconds of prolonged Hook-State.
You are better off with just progressing the Gens.
And I dont really understand why the Killer STILL gets information that the Perk is used. With how bad it is, they should remove this as well. (I mean, the Killer will still notice that either Kinship or Reassurance are used, but at least it would not be very obvious)
But yeah, the Perk itself had a very niche use anyway, but if this was the case, it was a very powerful tool against Camping. But sadly even a Perk that specific does not deserve to be strong. (Because, in the end, lets face it - it is a dead Perk if the Killer is not camping and even IF the Killer is camping, once they saw that Reassurance is in play, they would stop camping anyway...).

Maybe I still have covid after all and patch 6.1.0. was just something I dreamt up during the fever because half the forum seems to think it never happened
This was clear from the beginning that once there is ONE change for Survivors that Killer Mains will totally forget 6.1.0.
But it is no surprise, given that some players are also complaining about the 5 second extra Endurance.
-
- Does Better than New still apply the 6% gen repair speed increase as well as the 16% increase in various other actions? Or is the gen speed off it completely?
The Gen Repair Buff is gone.
- Just glancing it over, am I right that the main outstanding roadmap items for fiscal 2022 are the bots in custom matches, the automatic mori in the base game, and streamer mode? Am I forgetting anything that was announced for the roadmap that hasn’t already been done? (Really looking forward to those first two items personally! 🙂)
Streamer-Mode will come with Project W. You can hide your name and other names on your side. (IMO for Streamer Mode to be effective, they should also return all Cosmetics into Default in the Lobby)

Alright, a 5th perk slot for survivors. Let's see how many killer players stick around after the Wesker excitement fades.
My guess will be that my queue times will still be instant as Survivor during the whole 24 hours of a day. So the answer would be - still to many Killer players around to make the queue times bearable for Killers.
Currently Survivor Queues are still instant in the evening, which is the case since the Midchapter Patch dropped. So it was not a short period of time like some people said. And since the Change to 10 second Endurance does not do that much (since many were running OTR anyway), I guess there will still be way too many Killers around.
Even tho, strange why BHVR is still catering to them by nerfing Perks like Reassurance. They should realize that the people who are playing less are the Survivors.
(Even tho, MAYBE the Matchmaking Incentives might help the Killer Queues. But if those are on Survivor all the time, it should be pretty clear that they are the only reason why Killer Queues got better)
-
Bodyblocking is not bullying.
Maybe you Killer players should stop calling everything you dont like "bullying". I dont like to play against Hag, does that mean I get bullied all the time I play against her?
-
Most likely buying the whole Chapter on Day 1 since I am a completionist.
But I am way less excited for the new Chapter and I dont think it will make me want to play more DBD per day anymore.
-
Man, what to do against SWF. They are just unbeatable. Nothing you can do as Killer.

you say that, but your team is still at 50% efficiency, so 2 gens are getting done, and although you mightve wasted a good 20 seconds running to the hook and back, thats 30 seconds free on both your teammates gens, and another 10 seconds free on yours. if it takes a bit longer than 20 seconds there and back, youre still giving 2 gens another 1/3 of their progress without the threat of killer interruption, which is still strong.
If I learned anything in DBD then that you cannot trust your teammates.
30 seconds of extra Hookstage might just mean that they hide next to the camped Survivor for 30 more seconds in hope that the Killer will stop camping after 2 minutes.

I do not see how Reassurance is going to be pointless now, it's just a completely unnecessary nerf that it's getting. It will still be effective, I sure still will be using it, but just not as effective as it should be, because an anti-camping perk can pretty much never be too effective.

This community has always had it's fair share of cry babies. But on both sides, not just killers side. And that will most likely also never change.
The thing is, if only I am running it (which I have to assume since there is no way knowing the Perks of the other Survivors unless you are in an SWF), it would be more beneficial to stick to the Gen I am working on instead of going next to the Hook and use the Perk to prolong the Hook State.
The time I am not on a Gen to activate the Perk will be more hurtful to the Team than it can be beneficial to prolong the Hook Stage of the camped Survivor.

They are 1000% right about this one. A 30 sec effect on a 10 sec CD was insane and you know it. You can tell me sweet lies and you can even lie to yourself but under no circumstance was Reassurance ever going to hit live servers in that state.
You gotta be crazy to think otherwise
<3
As a Perk which only was useable if the Killer actually camped, it had its right to be strong against Camping.

The thing with thana was that perk was actually being used by all killers after the buff. AA had no opportunity of being used on any killer but nurse and even then requires starstruck to be effective
This is a clear outlier that isn’t exclusive to AA
While this is true, against every other Killer it made sense to heal. So you rarely had the full effect of Thana or even more than one or two Stacks for a longer period of time.
-
If they did not mention it, I would strongly assume that they are still scheduled to be reactivated with the release of the new Chapter.

Is it reasonable? Seems like the devs disagree <3
Yeah, the Devs are often wrong with this game.
-
1) One is wrong math, until I understand you wrong. The increase is not nearly doubled, the increase is much lower. A single Survivor can use Reassurance up to 6 times, adding 3 Hook States. So instead of 6 Hook States there will be 9.
2) Does not matter, as I wrote in the other Thread, in Endgame those are mostly Hook Trades unless the Survivors play perfectly. And even then it needs to be somewhat close to the gate.
3) If I am the only one having Reassurance, there is no point for me to leave my Gen to run to the camped person. Especially if I see with Kindred that the rest of the team is also doing nothing.
The Perk can be useful in a 4 man-SWF, for Solos it is not a good Perk anymore.
-
@Dead_Harder said:

No i mean, no you mean. Just tell me giving a single survivor the ability to extend the hook timer for 6 minutes is reasonable under any circumstance.
Tell me you actually think that.
It is reasonable if the Killer is camping.
It is not reasonable if not, but in 99,99% of the times this would not happen. And for the edge case it happens that someone is taken hostage, they should have thought about another solution instead of trashing the Perk.
-
Yep, it is a farce at this point. Instead of fixing their Design Failure (aka Nurse), they nerf Perks because of her.
And I liked the Perk in general, I think it is a cool concept that you can get into the next Chase basically immediatly after hooking a Survivor (when someone is nearby). But it was scary to think about this Perk on Nurse due to Starstruck.

Thats cool but 30 seconds is already pretty long time, isnt it? Look me in the electronic eyes and tell me it is reasonable to give a survivor the ability to extend the hook time by 6 minutes in any circumstance.
It was kinda insane before and its reasonable now.
I mean, which Killer stays at the Hook after seeing that the Survivor just got the effect of Reassurance? If a Killer sees that and keeps camping for another 6 minutes, they deserve to lose if they stick to their "strategy" instead of changing it.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
No, Its not. It's still very strong, probably too strong because in end game it still works.
Doesnt really matter IMO.
In Endgame, when OTR and DS are deactivated, Hook Rescues are Trades at best for most of the time. Usually if you camp a Survivor in Endgame, you will get one Kill, either the camped Survivor or someone who tried to rescue them.
Unless the Survivors work perfectly together.

So now it's time for the killers to become cry babies once again, right?

1st Survivor used Dead Hard. EDIT: And also old footage...
2nd Survivor got helped by Reassurance (which will get nerfed).
So yeah, Survivors can die.
-
100% agreed. I mean, it is obviously not that fitting if a Survivor runs some bloody, gruesome Charm or the Killer uses a very cute Charm. But I think if we look at Cosmetics, we can already see that immersion is not really the strongest Part of DBD anymore.
At least I would not mind to see some unfitting Charms on Hooks or other Survivors.

...at least ada's low profile now has a chance to activate more than once a game? it needs your team to mess up badly but also that might just be the best solo perk next to kindred given the quality of survivor randoms
I mean, yeah, now it is better than Sole Survivor or Left Behind again, but this is such a low bar to overcome, it does not really require the effort of jumping it.
At least I would not be more happy if I can think "Wow, my team is so bad that it activated Low Profile" instead of "My Team is all dead".
-
You focus on one point and ignore that they made two upcoming Survivor Perks pointless in the next Update AND reduced the number of Pallets on the new RPD-Maps.
-
They only mentioned SoloQ-Improvements once and only briefly. From what we know, they could have already been scrapped.
We have a Roadmap and since SoloQ-Improvements are not mentioned on it, you should not expect them coming this year.
In fact, they worked more against Solo with that Dev-Update by nerfing Reassurance into the ground. You can get a significant delay in an SWF, but the 30 seconds overall for one Survivor is not worth it to leave a Gen.

It does not buff Repair Speed anymore thoOh dang, I missed that at first. Now it makes sense that the percentages jumped up so much.
Yeah, I was also surprised why they would nerf Reassurance into the ground, but give a 16% flat increase in all Action Speeds until the Survivor is injured again. Then I read again and saw that the Repair Speed was gone. 16% increased Repair Speed would have been too much obviously, but removing it completely does not really make the Perk good in the slightest.

Doesn't buff gen speed? Oh I can't read.
Nevermind, they made Rebecca near-on useless.
Yeah, Ada was already bad with her Perks, but maybe they made Rebecca now even worse than Ada.
-
Yes, they did. So unless you prefer that your teammates now waste less time by cleansing pointless Dull Totems or opening Chests, you can just not run the Perk.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
I love how they nerfed Reassurance at the sobs of the facecampers, so instead of removing the abusable part they removed the anti-facecamp part, and yet then decided to make Better Than New one of the best perks in the game instead. Make it make sense.
It does not buff Repair Speed anymore tho.
Would not really say that it is one of the best Perks in the Game. Unless you consider it good that the other Survivors now waste less time by opening Chests or cleansing Dull Totems.
-
Yeah, I really dont understand the change. Instead of doing something that it cannot be abused to hold someone hostage at the Hook (IMO this was a straw anyway by people who feared that camping might actually be nerfed), they went for the easiest way and made the Perk useless.
30 seconds is not enough that I go out of my way to stop doing a Gen to help someone at the Hook when they are camped. It makes 0 sense to do that. I would be better off with just staying on my Gen and progress the game while the person is camped.
They should have added something that you can get rid of the effect when another Survivor is using it or that you can cancel it or something like that. But BHVRs solution just killed the Perk and it is a shame.
-
This is good. Would be nice to know if they nerfed BT in the process. If not, it would still be a good Perk to take.
5 seconds was too less anyway, 10 is better. At least you can now consider to not use BT.
-
No, it would not. If someone does not want to play they just wont play. They would either eat the DC-Penalty or simply go afk.
It would not really matter at all.

give me a logic and valid reason of why a killer shouldn't tunnel someone out of the game then...
The Devs clearly tried to make it harder. This is evident by the measures taken. However, as always, they were way too careful with it and failed.
-
Nah, you can remove them and it would not really matter. You get infection mainly from Survivors anyway and the Zombies are either hit or miss.
IMO the only reason why they included Zombies was because it is an RE-Chapter. If Nemesis would be an original Killer with that power, he would not have Zombies.
-
It is too easy and too rewarding currently. With 90 second Gens they buffed it, add in Deadlock and you have even more time to camp.
And it is also very boring, people say that sitting on a Gen is boring, but at least you have Skill Checks. Standing there staring at a Survivor is even more boring.
-
Voted for "No". "Yes"/"No" is not really a good choice for this kind of question.
Something like "A lot more than before", "a lot less than before", etc. would be nice.
So I 100% like the game less than before.
