Survivors can finally see Killer ping

According to the ptb patch notes, in a match if the killers ping goes over 100ms a yellow or red bar appears over the survivor portraits. We can finally know if an unfair hit at pallets or windows was because of ping.

  • good , but whats the point? this doesnt fix unfair laggy hits from the killer , it only shows when the killer is insanely laggy , and thats something we can already tell when the killer gets a delay after a stun or get a really bs hit on windows or pallets.

  • Is this only in the Match itself? Because then it would be too late anyway.

Unless you have a way to rewrite the laws of physics, there's always going to be latency and it's always going to cause issues in online games.

well, an unfair hit or not....( what do you get out of knowing? nothing ) it brings nothing. This feature is a just a gimmick in my opinion. I mean what do you want to do if the killer has a 150+ ping ? DC ? have fun with it

  • Man, why so many negative comments, yeah it is a small improvement, but it still is a nice QoL change that they added. I rather they add this to the game than not do anything. I'm happy to get any more information on the game without having to test whether I get hit through a pallet.

  • Its nice to know I have to drop the pallet 5 minutes early before figuring that out in my first chase but I'd rather see in the lobby

  • It's in the worst possible spot tho, so oddly off to the right.

Unfortunately latency will always be a thing. We can do some tricks to help mitigate it and predict what's going to happen, but it's impossible to fully eliminate.

That said, knowing that someone has a bad connection can help you play around it, since you'll know that there might be a delay and that you'll need to drop pallets sooner, for instance. It's also very helpful for us since we can more easily diagnose any clips that pop up showing weird/laggy hits.

There is difference between 30ms and 300ms latency.

  • I'd rather have this information before the match starts but whatever.
